Grabbed breakfast from here while staying nearby. Cafe is doing takeaway only. On entering we tried to order online as per the sign but after we got through the process couldnt complete as the system doesnt allow payment from a non US credit card. Were able to order from the cashier as did the other people who skipped ahead of us in line so doesnt seem like the online system is needed so much now.Good coffee - they have dairy milk alternatives and nice breakfast sandwich although could have done with a bit of salsa or sauce to give the sausage/bread some more juice/flavor. Staff were friendly and wait on food/coffee not too long.Would definitely try again now we have the ordering system figured out!

We visited here after biking from Ayer on the rail trail. You still cant go in (May 2021, COVID) but someone came right out to take our order and was very friendly and helpful. We got a blueberry scone, glazed donut, glazed with sprinkles, and cinnamon raisin knot, all of which were delicious. The blueberry scone was my favorite! Well definitely go back. I would love to try their salads, sandwiches and drinks too!

Consistently awesome eats. Our office orders the lunchbox sandwiches with greens, house made chips and sweet treat. They never disappoint and the service and attention to detail is spot on. Highly recommend a stop here! The ingredients were fresh, food was delicious, and portions were generous! We had the egg and cheese biscuit and the bacon breakfast burrito, and both were delicious!

The coffee was excellent and the blueberry muffin was one of the best I have ever had. The service is curbside only right now. But dont worry, the service is outstanding and the wait was much shorter than if you waited in line inside.

I cannot even begin to say enough good things about Salt & Light. When I was a local, I visited the cafe every weekend for the cold brew cinnamon buns and a matcha latte. Now, I live an hour away... and still drive there some weekends to get brunch. THATS how good it is. The owners are both amazing people and the staff there is always so, so kind. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the owners implemented delivery and curbside pickup as well as the option to purchase meals for local frontline workers. They really stepped up during a time of need and have solidified that I will be a lifelong customer. This place is a must-have.

Salt & Light has fantastic food. I enjoyed it when my wife and I went before the pandemic. My wife stopped by for lunch and ordered a gluten free sandwich she loves. 3 hours later she barfed it up. She has Celiac disease. She ordered glutton free but apparently there was gluten in the sandwich, even if the bread was GF. Be careful when ordering and double check what gets delivered.

Lemonade was bitter which is expected but had a strange flavor. Orange chai tea was tasteless. Pesto chicken was dry and chewy. Kids had lunch they liked it but I was not enthused.

THIS PLACE IS GREAT. Good coffee and food! Im a little bit of a coffee connoisseur and this place knows their stuff!I had a lemon poppy seed pound cake. They asked if I wanted it heated or not. Cold it would taste very lemon-y. But heated it would bring out the butter flavor. And I was like, Yes bring out that butter flavor! 😅 maybe that would not matter to someone else but it was a cute touch for me. ♡Also got these cute earrings in there

I love supporting local coffee shops, and this one is adorable! They have a great selection for breakfast foods and offer lots of options for coffee. As someone who is dairy free, they were very flexible and I really enjoyed my food.

First time coming to this place (I say coming because its COVID season and there is no in-dining) and the people and food there were awesome!I called and asked for their Beef Brisket Sandwich and was curious about calories. They do not have any listed on their site, but I just wanted to know a ballpark amount and the girl on the line was very polite and accommodating! I pulled up in front of the store to call and let them know I arrived and a gentleman came out before I could finish dialing the number! These people are on top of things and I loved the sandwich! (I was a little worried because BBQ sauce isnt my thing, but I loved it!)If Im in the area again, would def. be coming back! Great food and hospitality for the price. Only wish they included some calorie counts on their menus.;3

Absolutely AH-mazing. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on focaccia with avocado and tomatoes — holy mother of deliciousness!!! And the ingredients were super fresh. Its a sandwich Ill be dreaming about, lol... seriously cannot wait to order from S&L again.

Even though the breakfast burrito gets pretty expensive, its got to be one of the best around. Coffee is also perfectly done every time. Scones and donuts shouldnt be as much of an attraction as they are, I mean its not a bakery or something... Yeah ok just go to this place and stuff your face.

My current go-to for Saturday morning breakfast/brunch. Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing. Great coffee and desserts too, and always excellent service.

Love this cafe and that they’re doing something different. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Coffee is served in a mug ❤️ and the pastries are delicious! Can’t wait to go back for breakfast and lunch. They have a mixture of comfy chair seating if you want to chill with a good book and table seating.

Good quality food and cozy environment. I had the scramble with goat cheese and winter vegetables. It comes with either home fries or greens. Everything is made from scratch. Its a great place to grab a coffee and muffin on the way to work or a casual breakfast. Highly recommended.

I have had the pleasure of eating at salt and light weekly for several months and during all four seasons and I am amazed by their consistent delivery of delicious food, genuine hospitality and conscious thinking in everything they do. I eat a plant based diet and the owner Josiah is always very accommodating when it comes to creating substitute dishes based off their main menu that are always delicious. Ive been a local for over 15 years and tried dozens of cafes all across the state and up the coast and I am so pleased that salt and light one of my favorites is just down the road. Keep up the great work!

Rustic style main street cafe with great up scale menu though limited. Usually available parking curbside on both sides of the street. Seating is comfortable for small groups only. Pricing as expected for an upscale menu. Food is always tasty with great presentation. Not recommended for kids

I moved away and after several months was visiting, of course we stopped here, and they had kept an envelope with $40 that my ditsy wife left by accident. Totally awesome in every way!

Came here a few times and didn’t really have an issue...until I had a child. I was told that I couldn’t feed my child there because “they do not allow outside food.” So my 6m old can’t eat when we do....So we left! Great news, just adds to the list of anti kid friendly places. So I won’t be coming here anymore. You’ve just lost a customer.

Convenient Cafe in town. Often gets busy and can be overrun with students from nearby School. They have made an effort to cater to all kinds of food tastes and requirements such as vegan and gluten-free.As a tea drinker, I was pleased to see the loose leaf green tea and the Rishi Tea Brewer. A pleasant change from inferior tea bags!

This place does a great breakfast and lunch! Menu has plenty to select from and seems to rotate on a steady basis with new options. Atmosphere is relaxed, plenty of seating & seems to bring in a decent amount of volume. You order up front, find a seat and theyll bring you your meal and drinks.

Love everything about this place! From the food to the people who work there and the fact that they are a nut-free facility (which is so hard to find)!!! I am all about quality, cleanliness and customer service. Knowing how clean and tidy everything is here tells me, the customer, the amount of detail and attention that goes into preparing the food. I recently ordered cookies and cupcakes from Chef Josiah for my daughters birthday bc she has a severe nut allergy. I have never ordered from them before and let me tell you... my guests could not stop raving about where I got the delicious baked goods from! Now my guests expect baked goods from Salt & Light all the time! Im very impressed with this establishment.

Great sandwiches and apps, I recommend the food. Espresso drinks are average, but seem more consistent than blackbird. Biggest downside id that here is a constant haze of smoke because their fume hood over the range vents inside not outside. Please vent it outside!

The food here is amazing. They have a very interesting and imaginative menu. All of the creations are unique and taste great. Owners are always around helping too. Their gluten - free options are excellent.

Coffee is good, sandwiches are fantastic. The Cubano and the brisket sandwiches were fantastic. French toast was also great.

I frequently stop here for a bite to eat on a bike ride. If this place was half as bad as these reviews say, then it wouldnt be so busy. They serve good coffee and pastries. The service is a bit slow, I think they need someone to help them organize the workflow playing counter. Other than that, perfectly good food stop. Ive probably eaten there more than 10 times myself.

I grab a coffee and pastry here at least once a week. the coffee is always delicious and perfectly brewed and their gluten free treats are delectable. the staff is incredibly friendly. i feel lucky to work so close to such a great cafe!

Stoped there on a bike ride. Liked the ambience. Got the Pumpkin Bread and a large Macchiato - the Cappuccino was too small to heat me up. Will certainly return. Good service and environment. They may be getting more bike riders soon. BTW: It was raining cats and dogs and they took me although soaked. Certainly compassionate ;-)

And I cannot wait to have the braised pork sandwich again. There are also small pastries and sweets which are perfect for young children.The atmosphere is both invigorating and calming. You can sit on comfy couches and catch up with a friend or tuck away in a corner with your laptop. I cant wait to go back again and again and again. What an asset to our town!

Im on the road for work quite a bit, and I have mapped out several lunch spots through Central Mass and beyond. This one covers nicely for the Pepperell / Groton area. They have very good coffee, and well made food; this combination is difficult to find in many towns so I appreciate it when I locate a spot like this.

The new Roots Cafe gives the space a much more open feeling with the addition of lounging furniture and removal of diner-style refrigerators out front. Great menu, staff is well trained to make good coffee (and the pricing reflects this).
