I bought a used SUV a few weeks ago and I wanted to shout out the salesman Dan. He went above and beyond, there were a few things that needed to be fixed before delivery of the vehicle, he made sure everything was taken care of and communicated with me during the process. He followed up after I took possession to make sure everything was all good. Thank you Dan. I also want to say that Chris in finance was amazing, very personable and knowledgeable about everything. He also helped in the process of making sure repairs were done to our expectations and keeping us in the loop during the whole process. I had a great experience from Sales to Service and everything in between. I waited on my review a little till I got the full experience as I had one issue with the vehicle I purchased. All the People I interacted with were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. I felt a no pressure sales approach from my Sales Advisor Ricky. Ricky E. took the time to get to know me a bit and helped me find the perfect fit for what I was looking for within my budget. Ricky E. proved to me he is a genuine man whose words were backed up by action in resolving my issue as he said he would. I really like Ricky E. I feel he is a genuinely nice guy who helped me feel comfortable threw out the sales process and followed threw out service as well, I never felt pressured or rushed. I know it takes a team to be successful and that is what I observed, a team all working together to ensure customer satisfaction. Kristy M. in the service department was so pleasant & delightful to interact with. She kept me informed threw out my service appointment so another pleasant experience. Again, words backed up with action. Everyone followed through on what they said they would do and or what would be done, this is very important to me. The whole facility was neat and clean. The service waiting area is very nice and comfortable. From complementary beverages, work stations & comfortable chairs with swing tables made the waiting believe it or not a pleasurable experience also. I would recommend Gillespie Ford to anyone including family and close friends!

I purchased a used vehicle from this location and the service team addressed a safety issue which took some days to repair which was fine. When I went to pick the vehicle up I noticed something that wasnt an issue before but and issue now. I disclosed this to the sales person that sold me the car before leaving. The service team called and I also informed them. We made the appointment to have it repaired however the left hand didnt talk to the right hand to advise what needed to happen. I worked with Kristy and she went above and beyond to make sure that the issue was taken care of and stayed in contact with me on each step that was being performed. Kristy truly understands the value of relationship building and doing the right thing for your customers. Which is the reason that I give this location 5 stars. I cant get back the time but I am truly grateful that Kristy was there and took the time so see the issue through. Her work ethic is truly valued and appreciated. This is why I would use the service team again in the future because they have someone on their team that values their customers. Kristy is definitely an asset for this company.

Kristy Murphy with the service department, who I always seek out, is always so kind, thorough and always seeks to ensure complete confidence. Worst dealership ever I called them twice to ask for the price of the pick up that I would like to buy and I was told By their Internet sales person Evelyn that the prize thats on their website this is the price Of this pick up and that it won’t go up just the Taxes that I would have to add she supposedly even ask a sales person. I wasted 2 1/2 hours just to drive there and ask another sales perso. what is the price of this pick up and he told me right away it’s 10,000 above sticker price and there’s nothing they can work on.Worst Internet sales person that I spoke to, Lying to customers!!!

The mechanic Daniel did great work and working together they managed to get everything done in one day! Agreed to purchased a used truck for the $33,990 price shown on their website. Confirmed purchase price on documents provided by salesman. Later on, met with finance department and signed all the paperwork. Early the following week, I reviewed in detail all the forms I signed with the finance department and notice the sales price had changed from $33,990 to $34,985, a $995 difference. I called the salesman thinking this was a simple mistake and he agreed to look into it. After following up with him two days later, he informed me the change in purchase price was related to the standard $995 inspection fee they charge all their customers for used vehicles. He agreed to send me the documentation he had showing this fee. The document he sent showed the $33,990 list price and then a $995 charge towards the bottom under added dealer installed options. The document showed no mention of an inspection fee and the salesman and finance department did not disclose this fee at the time of purchase. My wife and I were both present at time of purchase.I gave the sales manager an opportunity to respond and make the situation right. He said the salesman said he disclosed the inspection fee and its essentially his word against ours. He said customers often complain after the fact trying to get a better deal on the vehicles. Also, I should have reviewed the paperwork better before I signed which I would agree with. He indicated the reason the finance department documents dont include the inspection fee on the paperwork is for sales tax purposes which doesnt make too much sense to me. He agreed to send me documentation he had clearly disclosing the fee. The document he sent me contained a line called inspection fee but was never presented at the time of sale, was dated 14 days after the date I purchased the vehicle, and has a line for a customer signature which was blank. I explained I wasnt presented that document at the time of sale and havent heard back from this sales manger since.I believe the dealership slipped in an extra $995 inspection fee without my knowledge and has failed to acknowledge that, at a minimum, a mistake was made by the salesman when I purchased the vehicle by failing to even mention this significant inspection fee. If the dealership did this intentionally, they are taking advantage of their customers and should be avoided. I just want to warn others so this doesnt happen to them.The truck I purchased and apparently paid $995 for an inspection had a slash in the sidewall of the front tire which they hadnt noticed. They did agree to replace the tire and the salesman saw to it this was completed the next day so we could take the truck on a weekend trip. At that point, I was impressed with the dealership and very happy with the purchase until I identified the pricing error the following week when we returned.

Lee is a great salesman!!! He made my 4 hour stay very pleasant. I felt like I was doing business with a long time friend. Nate found me the best rate possible, Nick made sure my vehicle was well protected before leaving the lot and Chris help me to understand the whole process. Although I did not work directly with the other salesman, they were very nice as well. I was offered beverages more than once and even received a pretty cool gift for being a valued customer. I don’t see myself purchasing or having my vehicle repaired at any place but Gillespie Ford in Gurnee!!!

Took my car in for my appointment at 7:30AM. At 330pm I had to call 3 times, did not get a call back on the status of my car. Finally an hr later someone was able to tell me that my car has not been looked at yet. By the time it was 4:30.( 9 hours later) I contacted Jose, which he transferred me to another manager voicemail. I went in and picked up my key. This dealership will not have my business.

Overall terrible experience. The customer service and communication was atrocious. I have taken my vehicle here for all work since I purchased it and prior to this have never had anything but good experiences. However, I took my vehicle in to be looked at on 4/30/21 because the AC was not working. I was told AC Line needed to be replaced and that they needed to order the part so I took my vehicle home to wait for confirmation that the part was in. On 5/4/21 I received a text notifying me the part was in. I was then told through text the repair would take 8.7 hours but they did not have any openings until 5/11. I was also told that even though this would be an all day repair, that they no longer offer loaner cars so I would have to be without a car for a day. I brought the car in on 5/11 and dropped it off at 7:30am. I received no update throughout the entire day so I called around 5:00 to see if the car was ready. I was told the car was not ready and had not been worked on yet but would be worked on in the morning. When I called back in the morning I was told that the car was actually worked on the day before but it was a 2 day job (clearly a lie since I was already informed a week prior it was an 8.7 hour job). A few hours later I was informed the wrong part was order (confirming the car was not looked at until that point). So now the car would not be started until 5/13. At the end of the day on 5/13 I called again for an update because I once again did not receive any throughout the day. I was told the car would not be started until 5/14 because all the techs were busy with other projects (even though I had an appointment 5 days prior). On 5/14 i was informed (again with me having to call) the car would not be ready until 5/17 because the techs were not able to start it again that day due to other jobs. I finally received a text on 5/17 stating my car was ready (6 days after I brought it in for an appointment made by Gillespie). When i went to pick it up after work on 5/17, I waited around for 45 minutes before I was informed they lost my key and could not give me my car. I then had to go home and come back the next morning once they found my key to finally get my car back. Despite all of this, i never once talked to or received a call from the service manager, i was simply told sorry for the inconvenience when i finally got my keys. The next day I was told through text that I would receive a survey from Ford and was asked to fill it out with perfect scores despite my experience and in return they would give me a $20 target gift card. I said I would not fill it out perfect and I would prefer to talk to the service manager. That text never got responded to and conveniently I was never sent a survey. It is pretty unethical to not send a survey to avoid a bad review rather than reaching out and trying to make it right with the customer. Extremely poor example of customer service from start to finish.

The worst dealer ever! I would give out zero star! I had a car accident recently and my car was totaled. I was looking for used car and found a used car (2007 Honda Pilot) from Gillespie Ford. The sales person who sold us that car told us the car has clean report and no mechanical problems. We also questioned why the car has engine light on, and he told us it’s just the indicator isn’t right, the mechanic team just finished the checkup on the car and no issues. So we made the purchase.In 3 weeks, we received a letter from DMV requesting emission test. The emissions test failed. So we took it to the body shop, and the repair estimate is $1845 in order to pass the emissions test. On top of it, the body shop told us the car’s engine has problems and requesting $200 for engine checkup fee. We don’t want to spend extra money on such an old car, but without passing emission test, we can’t get the license plate and registration thus can’t use the car.I called the sales office many times, the sales team refused to handle it. Now we got stuck with a piece of junk!!!

Kristy at the front desk just has an awesome demeanor and is extra helpful. She keeps in contact with you throughout the process of repairing your vehicle. Have been bringing my car in for service since it was purchased. Have had a few major repairs in that time. The thing I always appreciated was the courtesy cars they provided.About a year ago I was having some brake fluid leaking into the car onto the carpet. I brought in for service and they “diagnosed & fixed” the issue. According to them, leaking brake fluid was a water pump. Didn’t make sense to me but I’m not the expert. A few weeks later I bring back the car because it is still leaking brake fluid even though it was “fixed”. They then determine it’s the master cylinder (which is what I suggested the first time). I asked them why they fixed the water pump and they said they misunderstood what I wanted repaired? Really? How about you just didn’t pay attention. Which brings me to yesterday, I have not brought my car back to them but thought I would give them another opportunity. I called and set up to get my car in for repairs. I then inquired about getting a courtesy car which I was told they no longer do. Then when I mentioned that I see one sitting in my neighbors driveway I’m told they are limited. What is it? Limited or no longer available? Either way, do yourself a favor and find another service center. They obviously could care less about maintaining business.I forgot to mention that I didn’t give them a good score on one of their surveys and I got a call asking me to change it to a positive to keep their ratings up. Not very ethical.

I signed up for an oil change and some other services when my sons car went in for service. I didnt notice how dirty his car was until I went to pick him up at the dealership. So when we went back to pick up the car I told him he needed to go to the car wash before going home, but it turned out they washed the car for us!! What a wonderful surprise!! Thank you!!

Simple and streamlined buying process, easily navigable website to facilitate research before an in-person visit. Justin Vega was easy to work with and a personable salesman. I was buying a trade-in vehicle from a different manufacturer and he was still willing to answer any questions I had about the vehicle and demonstrated a general knowledge of cars, not just Fords. Im in sales and hate being sold to, and Justin kept the tone conversational and didnt bust out a bunch of cliches, he just answered questions and gave me information. Hes from California and still getting the lay of the land out here in the sticks, but I wont hold that against him. Were happy to have you out here, Justin, and hope the air quality adds some years onto your life that you lost by breathing the smog out west. Go get lost in the state parks and national forests!UPDATE: I had a minor issue requiring a service checkup only a few days after purchasing a vehicle. It could have been a headache, but Abbey and John in the service department were both stellar human beings and excellent resources! They were straightforward, communicative, and willing to answer all of my questions. Theres a great team in place here and I hope these individuals get the respect and recognition they deserve.

We recently were in the market for a new car and were making the rounds looking at available options. We stopped at Gillespie Ford, honestly not expecting to find what we were looking for, but wanted to rule Ford out. After talking to Justin (Vega) and telling him what we hoped to find, he said he had the car for us. He warned us that it has JUST come in and needed a good cleaning, but as a mom of twin 10-year-olds, that didnt scare me. He wasnt wrong (it did need a GOOD cleaning) and it had everything we had hoped to find. Everything. The first day we couldnt get to a price we felt comfortable with and we walked away, but we thought about it Sunday and Monday, went back Monday afternoon and were able to work it out so we could make it happen within our budget. He really took the time to LISTEN to what we were saying and helped us find the car we wanted AND the car we could afford. He has had great follow through and even had the car detailed so it was new-car clean!It was a great buying experience.

If 0 stars were available thats what I give him. Their service department is very incompetent in my opinion as they still have not properly handled the recall on my wifes Explorer. Although they did built-in my belief not 100% sure that they still build Ford for doing alignment on the vehicle. Mike thank you for the donut but I couldnt accept it as a precaution that it was tampered with. But offering me that donut was the nicest thing that Gillespie Ford did for me. I wish you would have been that nice on the path to repairs of my wifes vehicle.

I drove 9.5 hours away to buy a f-350. We we arrived we seen the mirrors were cracked and the auto slide did not work, both fog lamps were broken with sand in them, dent in tailgate, scuff in bumper and the Crome on the wheels were peeling. They didn’t disclose any of this. So we asked for money off and they declined. Then we asked for a second key and they declined. We left and went to eat before we got on the road. They called us saying that they will add the 2nd key and program it if we came back. We went back to finish the deal. We hooked up to our trailer to haul our suv back and the truck plug would not work. They refused to help us. They wouldn’t even offer to let us use their tools. I have bought so many vehicles out of state and have never had this happen to me. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

Had an excellent experience with Gillespie Ford last fall. Lee sold me a used 2019 Ford Mustang convertible. He was easy going and did not badger me during buying process (like other dealerships sometimes do), and he came through with a better offer than any dealership in the Chicagoland area for the make and model I was looking for. He even included touch-up repairs of some minor scratches for free as part of the deal. Another manager was able to also get me an extension on the factory warranty too. Im still driving this car daily and loving each moment.

I went to this ford dealership to test drive infiniti G37. Before when i called them they said, car is perfect condition without an any issues. When i got there, they told me the car needs new engine. What a joke!! Why sales department posting car that does not run at all???!! They tried to offer me different cars that i replied no. 2 hours driving there i wasted my time and fuel!!

This has been one of the worst experiences Ive had at a car dealership service. I brought my 2015 mustang in for 2 recalls to be checked on along with inspection of my brakes. I was told my caliper was frozen and my tires were bubbled out so I had my tires replaced. After a week of waiting I went to get my car from service and not even driving less then a mile from the dealership there was a major rubbing occurred on front left tire which almost caused an accident and drove the car right back to the dealership. After leaving the dealership from waiting to find an answer to why my car was having issues I come to realize they may of put the wrong rim and tire in the front because I have staggered rims. I told the dealership my concerns numerous times that this might be the cause. I was informed they checked the rims and that wasnt the issue but then the next day they told me the car was fixed and it was indeed putting the wrong rim/tire in the front. they lied to me numerous times. They caused damage to my vehicle and brand new tires and did not take responsibility. They are liars and have caused damage to one of their loyal customers vehicles and will not admit their mistakes. I am ashamed to say this dealership represents the ford brand. I do not recommend anyone to bring their vehicle here for service. They made simple mistakes to a simple fix to a car and could not at first take responsibility nor listen to my recommendation on what went wrong. DO NOT deal with this dealership. The manger of the service department named Anthony was of no help and they only wanted to offer 15% discount to the services that now needed to be done to my vehicle that was partially their fault.

Prompt service. But we were really on the only ones there. They had the truck and color we wanted with such limited supply.Even though they were slow that day, we felt like we were rushed through like cattle. The sales manager wouldnt budge on my very clean / low mileage trade in. He was a couple thousand less than a solid blue book price and would just give me the death stare if I replied back defending my position.The sales guy said his manager came out to look at it to reevaluate, and nobody went to see it. Our trade in was 40ft from us through a glass front building. They lied to me. I mean, I was buying a $70k truck. Go up $500 with trade in and throw in mud flaps. Work with your customers!The truck accessory dept. guy was nice enough, but really, $1650 for a MX4 tonneau cover when I can get the exact one installed at my local truck accessory shop for $980. $2500 for paint/underside protection?! No thanks.The loan guy was friendly but did a really poor job of explaining the details to me on such a large purchase. Loan term, interests, money down, trying to get a price matrix from him was difficult. He had one dog and pony show that was “If you buy the extended warranty you get lower interest so youll save this much from the ext. warranty cost. That doesnt hold water when you want to pay the truck off in 18 months. He forget to mention I owe a $250 deductible every time I make a claim on the ext. warranty. Worth mentioned, right? And that was it for his explaining anything... he just wanted me to sign docs with a 48k loan like I was signing into an online class. But I have questions dude! No body is behind us waiting. You have time!If supply wasnt so limited in a 200 mile radius, I would have walked out at trade in value discussion and tell the sales manager to wipe that smirk off his face. Very nice experience buying my 2018 F150. Talk to Fank Schimidt and he will take care of you without any sales pressure. They even got me an issue on the front hubs that showed up next day and was not on the due list fixed at no cost. The leather heated seats are better than the factory ones and nicely installed. Definitely recommend. The service guys are not as friendly but get the job done.

Interestingly enough on the day I was hoping to finalize the deal I found a different car on a different dealership with the specific feature I had been searching for. But over all my short experience with Frank was very pleasant, they know what the customers want, they kept their car factory new with the plastics still in tact, just like most new car buyers like them. Long story short: I tried to bring my car in for an oil change, but ended up leaving because my car sat outside for an hour and a half past my appointment time.I dropped my car off at 10, and came back at 11:15 to see that my car was still outside. So I called, and they told me they were doing maintenance on their oil machine (?) and that was why my car hadnt been serviced yet. They said they would call me back & let me know how much longer it would be. 20 minutes passed and no one called me back, so I decided to go inside and bring my husband. They said they were right about to call me back and that it would only be 30 more minutes. When my husband asked if it would REALLY be 30 more minutes, we were finally told that they werent sure how long it would be because the machine was still down...? At that point I just wanted my keys back. Im not usually one to complain but I would have appreciated some transparency so I didnt have to waste my entire morning to NOT get my car serviced.

Frank S. was hands down one of the best salesmen I have ever worked with. He was friendly and honest. There were no lengthy negotiations. We agreed on a price quickly and we were out the door. After an unpleasant experience at a different dealership earlier in the day, my faith was restored with the wonderful service I received from Frank and the rest of the staff at Gillespie.

From the end of November 2020 to April 1, 2021 have had multiple problems dealing with this dealership. A 2020 vehicle that had water pouring in my car from the sunroof, water damage is already showing. Had to go back twice for this to get fixed correctly. Ive bought brand new vehicles before and have never had an issue at multiple dealerships. For some reason they believed I wanted new plates, never discussed it when purchasing the vehicle. 1/7/2021 comes and I get a random email saying I have a pickup at UPS. License plates I was never told were mine, they put MY OLD plates on my vehicle the day I purchased it. I go there, give them back the plates and they give me copies of paperwork they emailed the DMV. April 1st, I try renewing my sticker at a kiosk, says its invalid. I go to the DMV and they said the plates I gave back to the dealership were cancelled and no plates were transferred to the vehicle. From driving to Greenbay WI, to Chicago, IL with bad plates. Over 4 months of non stop problems. Do yourself a favor, go to a different dealership.

Am looking for a F-150, none Im interested in where I live. Began internet shopping and found a 2020 F-150 I was very interested in at Gillespie Ford, three hours from me. Spoke with several staff members over three days. Two separate salesmen refused to negotiate by phone, were rude and condensing. One sales person would not release factory invoice and stated would only deal if I came in. Another individual who knew nothing about me asked if I could come in for a test drive at 7:30 in the evening during a snow storm. Clearly Gillespie Ford does not communicate internally and will only deal with customers if they come into their dealership for their advantage.

Bunch of liars here at this place! Shady shady! Looking at a used vehicle on Monday night dude said maybe you can take it home tonight it got late and salesman was off Tuesday so we planned on Wednesday to do paperwork on it. He Texted noon on Wednesday if I was still coming in... I replied yes. 4:11pm I texted to see if my boyfriend can take at look at the car.....o sure! 4:39pm got a text saying the car just sold!

I have been looking for a car for about a month now. After wading through several sleazy dealerships i came across Gillespie Ford. I was hoping this place would be the last one I go to because they had exactly the car i wanted.But my, was I wrong.For context I am a recent college graduate looking to purchase my first vehicle.The first time I was coming over, the sales rep called me three separate times the same day to make sure I was still coming. When I got there, the car was in service. I live in Chicago so this is an hour out for me. I was informed that the engine in the car was being replaced so it has to be serviced. They also told me they would give me the warranty on the new engine. (5 years and 60k miles at no additional cost)When I came back about a week later after the car had been serviced, I tested out the car. After doing all the paper work, I was informed by the management that I will be no longer getting the warranty on the new engine. The same day, the sales rep told me I would be getting the warranty. I had even transferred my own insurance on the vehicle by this time. I seriously doubt whether the engine was replaced in the first place.In conclusion, the sales repS are oblivious of the businesss’ operations, the management is thoroughly incompetent.Save yourself the trip to Gurnee and stay away from Gillespie Ford.

Misleading, sales person Lynn Hoffman who identified herself as a manager and internet sales person made me an agreement to sell a vehicle at a specific price, plus all applicable fees. Upon arrival, after a rather lengthy trip to the dealership, she was allegedly not available and the other associates refused to honor the agreement made beforehand. I seek only honesty and upfront answers, I was ready to pay the full agreed price plus fees and walk away with a vehicle that day after our weeks of negotiating over the phone and virtually. Unfortunately, I was met with confusion and alternate offers that I told them beforehand I would not be willing to pay. Their performance was unethical and their complete lack of regard for truth and honesty with their customers is appalling. I can only hope other customers are not mislead with false promises only to arrive and find that everything they agreed on and acted in accordance to was not honored. They performed inefficiently, unethically, and with a lack of professionalism.

I purchased a used Toyota Tacoma from this dealership under good faith that they service my uncles truck and other vehicles in the Gurnee area.However, I was sold the vehicle As Is though it was still under warranty by the manufacture. Upon getting the frame inspected (at a reputable Toyota Dealership) it fell under the extended warranty recall since it failed the frame inspection.After trying to get ahold of the sales manager, I never received a call back inquiring about the extended warranty for the frame.Firstly, I did not know about this issue on Toyota frames and the dealer failed to inform me that it would fail inspection. Secondly, I was was sold a vehicle As Is though it fell under manufacture warranty still. I do not know the intentions of why this was but it was clear that the frame was deemed safe by their dealership.Bottom line. They did not disclose all vehicle information, never called back as said, and left me very disappointed with purchasing my first vehicle on my own.

First time dealing with Gillespie. Justin was our sales rep and what a great guy to deal. Not pushy like a typical salesman would be. Did whatever he could to make the deal happen. Had some issues with the car (minor). Justin took care of it all via service. Dennis there was upfront and kept us in the loop every step of the way. Chris in finance was absolutely fantastic to deal with. I always dread sitting in the finance office, but he moved through quick and got us out. Both Justin and Chris stayed late on a Saturday to get the paperwork and deal done. Will definitely return in the future. Thanks guys.

My wife and I walked in today to see what Gillespie has to offer for cars on a new Fusion. We were greeted by the sales person Lee, he extended his advanced customer service assistance immediately, which is very important as a form of aknowledgment every customer should receive👍. He was incredibly helpful, kind, and patient during our time at the dealership. We later met with the manager Nate, he was was fantastic, very knowledgeable and not at all pushy neither was Lee. He showed us many different options and really helped us pick out the perfect option and a great deal as well. The entire process was so easy and pressure free.In conclusion, if it weren’t for Lee and Nate today, my wife and I probably would have walked out of the dealership today without purchasing any car. I do not normally write reviews unless I get superior service. This is one of those cases where I am just amazed at how great of service I received. Chris and Anthony went out of their way to make sure my car was safe to drive. I went in for an ongoing issue with shaking in my front end. I took the car to a couple other places and spent money on repairs but within a week the car was shaking again. The other places could not pinpoint what the issue was. Finally, I took the car to Gillespie Ford in Gurnee and let them know that they can keep the car as long as they need to figure out what the heck was going on. I should have taken it here 1st since our family had recently purchased a car from them and also had incredible service. This is beyond what you normally think of or expect when you go to a dealership to buy or for repairs and maintenance. They called me the next day and said that the part that was installed was for a regular hard top Mustang and not the convertible Mustang like I have. They went through the entire front end to make sure all the other parts were correct as well. When it was all said and done, my car runs better than it ever has. I had the car in the shop for about 5 days including the weekend but they were so kind and offered me a loaner car while it was in the shop! I have never before experienced such incredible service when taking my car for any type of repair even something as simple as a typical oil change. I will not go anywhere else from now on! Thanks again Chris and Anthony and the entire crew for all that you’ve done for me and my car.
