This was an absolutely amazing surprise.I was stuck over at Pep Boys today and I really needed something to eat and this place went beyond my expectations.Due to it being Saturday they had this amazing special that consisted of tomatoes and eggs. The pairing was perfect and a cappuccino surely hit the spot.I had a few moments to chat with the owners and they were the sweetest people ever.Make this place your next stop in Hackensack New Jersey.

Hard working chef. He spent some time with us just doing cpr. We came here with the family for some Morning snacks. The crepes were super sweet. The kids loved the atmosphere. Bright colors and the art was cool. This is the perfect chill vibe Italian coffee house.HIGHLY RECOMMEND ‼️

This is one of the best cafes I’ve ever been to. The owner is straight off the boat Italian and both he and his son are so incredibly nice and hospitable. And the food and drinks are amazing!!!! I swear the owner makes everything with so much love. I’ve never seen a person make a latte with such precision and passion. Also, everything in the shop is imported from Italy, so you know it’s good and authentic. It’s become a new favorite stop for my roommate and I. I can’t recommend it enough!!!

I came across this cafe while looking online where to go on a date and had never heard of it but have been hooked for almost 3 years now. The customer service is amazing JUST AS GREAT AS THE FOOD. The portions are decent for the price and the quality is beyond what I can describe. Domenico and his son Marco put their hearts in this place and it shows. A HACKENSACK MUST IF YOU AS ME !

We stopped by there for a brunch after my husband did a MRI near byThe paninis are so delicious and all fresh products.Also we enjoyed talking with the friendly Italian owner.

This little coffee shop is a wonderful little place. Hospitality is 100% these people are definitely from the old country and a very loving and care about their customers had a wonderful experience and I love their coffee definitely coming here again. I got three drinks two Caramel latte is one hot one ice and I got the boccio which I wasn’t too much of a fan of but they are wonderful quality is outstanding. I highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys good old style home country coffee with a side of Italian hospitality.

Whenever in the neighborhood I stop here for a great panini or any of their other delicious menu items. A quaint cafe with delicious food and desserts. The owner is friendly and welcoming, he takes great pride in the quality and quantity of his food and service. You cant go wrong at Coffee Break.

I’m so happy I discovered this place. The coffee is amazing, directly imported from Italy (I always get an iced latte) and the owner Dominic is so sweet and welcoming, and so is his son Marco. Forget Starbucks, Coffee Break is so much better!!

The food here is beyond good!! Everything is imported from Italy, practically. The flavors stand out in the sandwiches and all the food he makes. I love the Cappuccino, Espresso, Bacio and Nutellino coffees there. I’ve never gotten a bad sandwich there and the pastries and gelato are can’t-miss too. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s like a hidden gem in Hackensack, a city transforming before our eyes, which is good — this place won’t remain a secret much longer...

Man oh man. This place is awesome! Im a huge fan of local coffee spots and supporting small businesses and this coffee spot is definitely one you need to try.The owner was very kind and whipped up some fantastic coffees for us. We had the mochacinno and the espresso machiatto. We each took a couple cafe lattes to go which we got some flavor added as well. (Irish creme was great)But now let me talk about these crossiants. They were hands down the best crossiants Ive ever had in my 29 year life. Flaky and buttery. Soft with a little crackle as you but into it. Unbelievably good! We tried a chocolate and a apricot one. Unfortunately we didnt try the hazelnut one but I guarantee you we will be back!

I can’t believe I’ve managed this long without writing a review for this place! My boyfriend and I have been coming here every since we moved to Hackensack and we always get our favorite- the tuna sandwich. It’s incredibly fresh, flavorful & it always never disappoints. We also love their lattes, as they use coffee icecubes so the favor is rich and creamy. The people working there are so friendly and nice, which is definitely the cherry on top. We’ve moved to another town but we still make the time to visit this quaint and delicious cafe. Highly recommend!!!

Out of every coffee place i have been to, this is by far the most outstanding.

My favorite place to hang out in Hackensack. Dominic is friendly and a wonderful host. He gets creative with the lunch specials, and always has something delicious, be it a sandwich, soup, or pasta special. He accommodates all sorts of requests. Above all though, its a quality coffee (not earthshattering, but solid), and a great place to sit and relax for an hour. Worth your time.

I used to frequent this place often a few years ago when I was working for a law firm down the street. Definitely one of the best quality places to eat in Hackensack. Authentic Italian sandwiches similar to what you will find in Italy vs a typical Italian deli selling subs. I also remember loving their balsamic glaze. Anyway, glad you guys are still open and making delicious food. My wife is working in Teterboro and wanted to know good places for lunch in the area. This is the first place I thought of. Tried the bacio (I believe it was espresso with foamed milk and cocoa, I should have taken pictures of the menu😫) and the eggplant panini and both tasted so clean and delicious!! Definitely got my mood up after being stuck with jury duty. I could feel the sincerity put into the food and that they value quality.Even ordered a takeout iced coffee and prosciutto crepe for my mom because I wanted to share the experience with her and she really liked the crepe!

Friendly and comfortable feeling in this small coffee house in downtown Hackensack. Flavorful Cafe Venezia coffee used in making their coffees, lattes, etc. They also serve a large selection of artfully prepared crepes of varying flavors. (See photos) Also a small selection of croissants and other pastries. Comfortable cushioned seating as well as free Wifi. Great place to relax and unwind.

Coffee Break is a great place to go to for studying. Its a quiet atmosphere with good food thats not expensive and quick service. They have free wifi and overall, the staff is very nice too. I would recommend this to anyone whos looking for a quiet place to get some work done.

Very relaxing place, the interior design gives very nice vibes and you can sit in the table by the glass which will give you a nice view of the outside, the staff is very polite and the pastries were very good

Pretty great black iced coffee and refreshingly simple panini with fresh and delicious ingredients! Owner and workers are very kind and accommodating, and their Wi-Fi is fast and the seating very comfortable for doing some work or web browsing. Also good for group seating.

This coffee shop is excellent! Great coffee, great service, great vibe! Knowledgeable baristas making delicious drinks. Vinyl records play as you sip coffee and people watch through the window on one of Main Street funnest streets.

I can’t emphasize this enough: Domenico at Coffee Break makes the best Italian sandwiches this side of the Mediterranean. He gets the best quality products imported from Italy and has great knowledge about those products. He has elevated cafe fare to a level that sets a new bar for NJ/NY. I love his food and his coffee/espresso/cappuccino, all in a quaint, cozy atmosphere where he makes you feel like you’re home and part of the family. Love this place and will keep coming back. Oh yeah, and try the iced Nutellino with espresso, Nutella, whipped cream and hazelnut chips. Especially in the warmer months, its incredible!

I saw a yelp review with the same complaint that I have.First, the Pros:Ive been going to this coffee shop since it opened, and the drinks here taste wonderful WHEN MADE BY THE OWNERS or their relatives. The owners are wonderful - friendly and very kind. Their desserts, which they bake themselves, are delicious.The Cons:Every time someone else is hired to work for them and the owners are not around, these employees completely ignore the instructions that I have definitely seen the owners give them, repeatedly. For instance, the employee pours a shot into a plastic cup, with nothing else inside (really bad because it can melt the plastic), or pours a shot over just ice, then searches for milk all over the place, at which point the shot and ice have melted, making the drink very watery. Or the employees mix iced coffee and shots together? Im not sure what that is.Lately, the male employee there makes extremely milky drinks, with 99% milk and almost no coffee or espresso. When you ask for the rest of the shot to be put in, he does so but then charges $1.25 for the coffee/espresso that should have been in there in the first place. Also, even though I have seen the owners tell him the price that he should be charging, he thinks I do not understand the language they are speaking in and tells me that he is supposed to charge me more.I have now completely stopped going to this coffee shop because I am afraid I will encounter one of the employees instead of the wonderful owners, which is really unfortunate.I guess my takeaway advice is that if youre looking to get coffee or espresso, make sure to visit only when the owners are there.

Marco is amazing and so is the food

Its a small place, and the workers speak ok English. Theyre primary language is Italian and they make pretty good coffee there. Its not very big, and the seating is very limited. Its rarely packed though. The food is really good though. Its best to swing by and grab something and head on out.

Was there today for 3rd visit. Shop is clean, well decorared, inviting. Owner and staff are very friendly. Cafe latte excellent. Today I enjoyed the Arugula Salad with Grilled Chicken and balsamic dressing. Wish I lived or worked nearby so that I could be a regular.

I stop in to Coffee Break occasionally and have always had a good experience. Try there crepes, they have never disappointed. I do wish they would play some light music in the shop, sometimes it is a little too quiet in there.

Great little coffee shop in downtown Hackensack. Management is very nice and make a great cup of coffee. None of those weird sugar based drinks you get at Starbucks, just great, well made (not burnt like Starbucks) coffee.

I like this place. Its quiet and Dominic is cool. He makes a mean crepe. Dude, I almost ate the plate with it. So fresh. He also has baked good and I think they sell chocolate, too. You know?! I would definitely go back.As for parking, that can be a lil tricky. I dont like meters. U can park in the CVS lot n walk it like you talk it. lol.
