After a horrible experience at the Short Hills William Sonoma, I called Hackensack to place my 1st purchase with my newly opened credit card. Chelsey (General Manager) was a great help in honoring the 20% off from my first order since getting the credit card. She was very pleasant and professional and I would definitely purchase from them again.

Its a high end store that has a lot of cool, unusual kitchen items but is pricy, so be prepared for some sticker shock.

Very nice high quality kitchen cookware and small appliances. They have a whole trove of kitchen gadgets as well as gourmet food.Basically they carry just about everything associated with the kitchen or dining experience. A bit on the pricey side.

Can’t believe it but I actually went in twice to this store to TRY and buy the Philips Air Fryer and a couple of grill spices we love last night but with no success. At 6 PM on Friday, found the store totally inundated with customers but with only one sales associate and 1 back inventory staffer. She was extremely nice but busy so I asked when they closed and they told me 9PM so I offered to come back after our movie and she was appreciative. We did, and while waiting by the register, we tried some samples and when an associate finally showed up (a different, older lady than the one I met at 6 PM), she approached me with a lecture that those were not samples (no greeting, and why were those treats by a register then?). I apologized and told her we thought they were samples and thought we would try them while waiting for someone, and then she proceeded to correct me that she “doubted we were waiting that long”! I had never felt so unwelcome trying to spend $400 in a store before so as much as I was looking forward to finally bringing home my appliance, I felt horrible and told her that I didn’t feel good about buying anything anymore and left. This store staffer needs hospitality training and should keep her snacks under the counter if she feels that strongly about not sharing!

I recently and impulsively purchased pure vanilla extract from this store. When the cashier rang up the sale, I was shocked to find out the 8 oz bottle was $50.00. I didnt think clearly and regrettably continued the purchase. The next business day I attempted to return the item but was told to read the fine print of no food returns. I then called customer service who in turn contacted the store. The manager was willing to exchange the bottle of vanilla for something else in the store. Obviously this was solely about money. I will not return to William Sonoma, Pottery Barn or any of the other subsidiaries. Shame on you!!!

Love this kitchen specialty store.

Long and drawn out process for returns. It took about 15 minutes to process a return. Funny thing is it took them about 32 seconds to take my money when I purchased the item earlier in the day. I paid with a credit card and had a receipt but they could not issue a refund without a drivers license. Now I am in the Williams-Sonoma database and will probably get junk mail from them for years.
