Potomac Bridals by far has the best dresses, staff and service. I initially went to Davids bridal looking for my wedding dress and ended up trying on over 12 dresses. I called up Potomac bridals and was able to get an appointment the very next day. Jodi was super friendly and helped me every step of the way. I told her my budget and not once did she try to show me anything above it. I even mentioned I really liked a particular dress and she immediately let me know it was way over my limit. I only tried on maybe 3 different dresses before finding the one. I didnt have anywhere to hide my dress at home so I was able to store my dress at the shop until I was ready to pick it up for alterations. Speaking of alterations, they even provided me with a list of seamstresses! When I was done with alterations I was able to bring my dress back to the shop for storage and a complimentary steaming so it was all ready to go for the big day. My bridesmaids also got their dresses here and were able to get a small discount since I purchased my dress. Anyone in need of a wedding dress, prom dress etc. this is the place to go!

WOW! Amazing! After an absolutely horrible experience at David’s bridal we went to POTOMAC BRIDAL and were welcomed with open arms by Joyce Lee and her staff. We told them what we were looking for and within minutes we had THE perfect dress and at a much better price. I would recommend this place as FIRST on your list because you won’t need to go anywhere else.

Worst experience of customer service of my life. Just because I didnt have a vision or a picture for her to look at, she could not apparently help. I just wanted to see some white dresses, maybe special occasion because I am going for a simple look, but that grandma showed me a dark gray Mother of the Bride dress. The other staff were just as unfriendly. Do not waste your time.

I would not hesitate to recommend Potomac Bridals for wedding dresses, and bridesmaids. I was made to feel very special during my bridal appointment. Jodi, Sue and Theresa all stopped in on the appointment to give their honest and very much appreciated opinion. They listened to what I wanted and were good at helping me to keep an open mind. I had that bridal moment - a nice tears and laughter combo moment that all employees shared in. Ordering was prompt. Suggestions for color schemes and bridesmaid dress styles were provided at my request. Highly recommend!

Both me and my sister have gone to Potomac Bridal for our prom dresses, and there’s honestly no place better! Not only were they sweet and attentive, they would even help us pick out dresses that worked with the style and budget we wanted. I’ve been so pleased with all of our visits. If you are a bride looking for gowns size 16 or higher, feel free to skip Potomac Bridal.Our consultant was Teresa, who seemed unfamiliar with the budget and dress size I had sent prior to our appointment. While they were flexible in allowing us to come early to our appointment, she seemed very frustrated that I hadnt picked any dresses from the floor while I was waiting for her to be ready for our appointment - Although I had been told only six dresses were options prior to my appointment. How was I supposed to know where I was allowed to look?When I started to try on the couple dresses available, my maid of honor was quickly snapped at and told not to reference my top choices from another store when we were reviewing the options at Potomac. Due to the limited stock, we moved quickly to a final dress I really liked and hit almost everything I was looking for. While it was a beautiful dress, the consultant never once asked about my fiancé, the wedding, the venue... But she did find a chance to ask about bridesmaids dress and express her distaste for an online store Id chosen for ease of ordering since half of the bridal party are 10+ hours away and Id used them successfully in a wedding I was in last year. It all ended with the accusation that we were the reason small businesses were disappearing. This was also around the time we mentioned we had one more appointment in the day at Davids Bridal, to which Teresa scoffed and said, Cancel that appointment - You have a beautiful designer dress here!As I said the final dress was a top contender and I requested information be written down so I could compare with my top choices at the other salons I had visited. Teresa said she would put it in my bridal folder. When my future mother in law pressed her and asked what I would get to take with me, she was laughed at and told, Nothing! before Teresa launched into a list of reasons why they couldnt give me the information of the designer, style number and price to take with me, all of which was very easy to find online once I left the store.On top of that, there were many other little things - Despite always saying thank you for helping me get into dresses, finding a veil or belt, I dont think I heard any acknowledgement or Youre welcome the entire time. She let me try on dresses without mentioning they were over my price point and became argumentative about dress sizes with the mother of the bride. I kept hoping the appointment would turn around, but the only time she became more animated was when she thought she could score another sale and quickly soured when it turned out we werent going to purchase (Bridesmaid dresses, suit rentals, prom dress sale for my sister/maid of honor). When we left, Teresa and another employee followed us out to the parking lot and watched us until we got into our cars. All four people attending the appointment were shocked at the way we were talked to and treated in the store. Several things just seemed off about the entire appointment and I left with the sense that they were wondering what on earth I was doing there and why I was bothering to trying to find a beautiful dress.If Potomac Bridal is unprepared to dress a young woman in size 18 when the average American woman is a size 16/18, it should have been disclosed when the appointment was first made and my size was shared with them. Instead they promised more stock would be available by my appointment. If they were forthcoming about their low stock and disinterest in helping a plus size bride, I wouldnt have wasted their time, I wouldnt have wasted my time and I wouldnt have left wondering why they dont think most women deserve to feel beautiful on their wedding day.I hope this helps other brides keep their dress shopping experience a positive one where they feel beautiful and are not lead to feeling body shamed or less than.

Help spread the word about this rude, discriminating, sexist, male hating establishment.Fathers aren’t allowed to go in to the dress area because men try to look thru the dressing room curtains?????How about spend some money and install actual dressing room doors instead of cloth curtain dividers?!?!?Then you have the nerve to say that “If you were a father and seen what we have seen then you wouldn’t want men in there either”????Are you serious? They were so nice! I came in with my best friend to look for prom dress and had no clue what we wanted. But they helped us narrow down some choices and gave their opinion on the dresses we tried on. Great service! I love my prom dress!

I LOVE my dress and Potomac Bridals! Ask for Teresa Plank! I had an appointment at another bridal store and left disappointed and discouraged. But my sister said we should try this store. We walked in and were promptly greeted, and helped by a consultant. Teresa asked me my budget and my size; than began looking for dresses for me. She certainly knows her stuff! Teresa was kind and let me try my top two dresses on several times without being annoyed. Also the dresses at this store were much better made than at Davids bridal. I was so happy that I found my dress that day and did not have to ask my family to take off work another day, and drive well over an hour to look for dresses again. My only regret is that I did not start at Potomac Bridals first.

Used this business for wedding tux rentals for the entire party. Everything was prepared correctly and in perfect shape. No complaints!!

Fabulous! I had Sue for my appointment (the lady with a neat British accent!) and she was dear! She helped me and never encouraged anyone to pressure me. I never felt rushed or ignored or like I was a dollar sign to her. She knew I had another appointment somewhere else and gave me some tips on how the dress should fit! Loved her and loved the atmosphere! My next appointment was at davids Bridal and the service just did not compare. Thanks so much ladies.

For school dresses, it will be hard to find something unless youre willing to spend a small fortune. Overall, it was a nice place maybe something to think about for wedding gowns but be prepared to spend a lot of money

I wish i didn’t have to put a star, it doesn’t deserve it. potomac bridals has always had a good reputation in my eyes. but one day, i went in with my best friend and sister to look for homecoming dresses and i’m a male and the lady at the front desk directed them in the direction of the dresses but then looks at me and says and i quote “if you would just sit in the waiting area that would be best, we don’t let guys back there” i was just in shock! and there was not one other single customer in there (i understand why) so what was the big deal. and to top it all off the sitting area had the most painful and uncomfortable chairs ever, felt like i was sitting on a cinderblock. and remember how she said the sitting room was for guys well there was only women’s magazines and no sort of entertainment other than the horrific pink furniture. over all it was just a bad experience and we didn’t leave with a dress. if corporates email was on here they definitely would be hearing about this as well.

I absolutely loved my experience here. I had previously gone to the Davids Bridal in town and I felt like I was on a conveyer belt for dress trials. It was awful. Then we stopped at Potomac Bridal, and the lady that assisted us listened to the description of the dress I wanted and immediately went and picked out what would become my wedding dress! I wanted lace, and thats exactly what I got.

Honestly if there is a 0 star rating I would give it. Staff was very unfriendly and didnt even welcome us as we came in. They had an issue with the larger size Bridesmaids and honestly were just very unhelpful. Preserve your dignity and dont overspend at this place.

Potomac Bridals has amazing dresses but what sets them above and beyond its their staff! Miss Jodi is always looking out for us, takes amazing care of us when were there, and helps pick out the most amazing dresses for my daughter ! Pageant, homecoming, prom, bridal they have it all!

Our bridal party purchased dresses from here and as soon as I tried mine on two snaps fell off. You would think paying over $100 would give you decent quality. I ordered an XS which was still incredibly too big. Also the customer service left a lot to be desired. When I picked up the dress, she said do you want to try it on? I was in a hurry and asked if I could just call if I have a problem? She said, well theres nothing we can do if you have a problem.. Um.. gee, thanks for the help!

Fabulous and professional - I never felt pressured to buy, they were patient and accommodating! I came in on a whim because they were having a sale - and walked out with the wedding dress of my dreams! They even steamed my wedding dress later for me because they did not have a big enough bag for it that day!

I had not known about Potomac Bridal until we had seen their setup at a bridal show about a month ago. The ladies were super nice so we setup an appointment right away for my bridesmaids to go dress shopping. I had bought my dress beforehand at a different store prior to that and was offered a discount from that particular store for my bridesmaid dresses but still chose to go to Potomac because of how nice they had seemed. After being introduced to Theresa at our appointment I told her I had bought my dress from somewhere else before, but that was because I had never heard about them and she seemed to have an attitude about that after that the whole appointment with us. She made it a horrible experience for us all and was just extremely rude. I would tell her my idea of what I wanted out of the dresses for the girls and all my ideas were completely shut down. She made me feel like a complete idiot and like I had no idea what I wanted. She even complimented on how big one of my bridesmaids were and mumbled under her breath when measuring her which I thought was unbelievable. A half hour into the appointment she was already rushing us because she had another bride coming in 30 minutes. She even treated the other lady she asked to help her write down info while fitting the girls like crap. It would have been such an easy sale because it only took us all about 20 minutes to agree on a dress, but obviously they didnt really need the business. After we left I had called the owner and she could have cared less about what had happened to us earlier. She said the lady we had dealt with was one of her best sales girls and that our personalities must have clashed. Thats pretty sad if she is your top sales lady, plus it wasnt just my personality she clashed with, it was 8 others. I would definitely NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Its disappointing because I really thought they would be a joy to work with, but I guess they are just good at putting up a front. We found the dress we all loved and will be giving business to someone else, so at least there was something positive that came out of this. Way to turn what was supposed to be a fun experience into a bad one!

I live in Orange, VA and I went to many shops looking for THE dress. I finally gave in and decided to closer to my grandmother in WV and I fell in love with this shop. They are fantastic to work with and have a great selection!

I went to Potomac Bridal as the very first place to try on dresses after I got engaged. Sue helped me and she was so great. She had me pick out five different styles so I could see what styles I liked. I ended up liking a couple different ones. But she was so nice and I was trying on everything she never got annoyed and she was acting like she was also having fun. Once I was finished she even told me I should go to other places and see if there was anything else I liked. (If I had I probably would have gone back and ordered it from her anyways) I took her advice and went to a couple other places but I couldnt find anything I liked more or anyone who helped me better. I have not yet gotten my dress form there but I am planning on doing it and I am only going to buy one from Sue. I defenitely suggest this place to anyone who is looking to buy a wedding dress!!

This review is long overdue! I cannot express the gratitude I have for this place. After a brutal eye stabbing visit at Davids sorting thru 100s of the same traditional white gown in a 1000 different patchwork patterns we became discouraged about this hunt for a unique gown. It just wasnt the place for my daughters gown. However, low and behold.... Google lead the way to bigger and better options.At Potomac Bridals, we rolled in on the 11th hour unannounced in distress, immediately pulling gowns off the rack to get this over with... Suddenly we were pleasantly greeted with a calm, confident and professional welcome. Exactly how it should be. The gown selection was the cream of the crop and you knew this from the minute you walked in. The staging studio is portrait ready and quality control of the inventory screamed professionalism and class. These ladies have found their calling for sure. They took one look at my daughter, pulled a gown and said come with me. Not only was she able to determine right out the gate exactly what style suited her frame, she nailed it on the first gown off the rack! My daughter was in her gown and out the door WITH her gown in just over an hour. It was flawless. Im simply blown away by the whole experience.Thank you for making this possible and so perfect. My daughter is perfectly suited for the most important day of her life and it shows. Look at her pic and tell me she doesnt look like she just walked out of a fairy tale! Keep up the good work ladies! Potomac Bridals is a tough act to follow.Also, after another agonizing search for the right mother of the bride gown, I just booked a flight for Jul 18th to visit Potomac Bridals. Was not impressed by this store at all!! When we arrived for appointment, half the lights in the store werent even turned on. It was absolutely FREEZING cold in the store. Very limited selection of bridesmaid dresses (3racks). When we told the woman what our budget was, she gasped and made a funny face. Very, very pushy....My husband sells cars and I was beyond turned off by her rude pushy behavior.
