We went there right before they were due to close and asked if they would do a oil change and they did. Very happy with the customer service. Definitely the place to go with your car needs

Went in for brake issue. Customer service is great, friendly, hence two stars. However, after leaving the issue is not 100% resolved. I changed my front brake pads and rotors and after the fact, the brake pedal went to the floor before actually braking. After taking my car in, they seem fixated on the rear brakes. After an hour, they said the issue was resolved and that they needed to adjust my brake shoes ( rear brakes). Seemed odd to me because I didnt touch the rear brakes.I left the shop and yes, there was some slight improvement with the pedal, but it still took more pushing before brakes braked and I felt resistance. I called the shop and explained I didnt feel the brakes worked correctly. I asked if they bled them, he stated they did, though Im not sure they actually did. Before bringing it back, I called again to see if Id be charged again. They told me they would have to.In the end, I decided not to go back. Did not feel it was worth my time if I was going to be charged again. What bothers me the most, is that they felt the issue was resolved the first time. I dont know how a professional mechanic couldve thought the way the brakes worked was okay. You shouldnt have to push that far down on a pedal before the brakes start to brake. Period. The way they are now is like night and day with my other vehicle which is the same model.Lastly, when I brought the truck in the ABS light was on and low tire pressure light was on. They didnt even do a courtesy tire pressure fill or note the ABS light. Either they arent attentive or dont go above and beyond.

The waiting room is clean. I usually book my appointment online and the manager, Paul, calls back with a confirmation.

Had to come in on a Sunday morning on a roadtrip to get a tire replaced from a fender bender. Although they didn’t have the tire in stock (not their fault since it was a Sunday!) they were extremely helpful and helped guide me on what to do. 10/10 recommend this tire shop!!

I was skeptical to bring my car to a chain, but I got the honesty of small family run shop and the speed and quality of a dealer (would’ve cost an arm and a leg). Great customer service. Took my car in to balance tire pressure., had difficulty resetting the sensor. Tom was diligent, patient and went above board to correct the issue. Have used Monroe for oil changes and tire replacements. Always very pleased with the service.

Awesome experience and awesome customer service! Prompt and super convenient. When I came to pick up my car after getting brakes fixed, I was surprised to find it sparkling clean. They had taken it to the car wash for me. No extra charge!

I went to Monro on Skiff (Hamdrn) today for an oil change. The appointment had been made the day prior. I was greeted very professionally and given a selection of oils to be used. I asked if the fluids, tire pressure and filters were going to be checked.My vehicle was serviced by Kraig. He changed the oil, filter, checked the fluids and tire pressure as promised. The cabin air filter was very dirty and was shown to me. I agreed that it should be changed. I was very satisfied with the work provided by Kraig. I talked with him briefly before I left. He was very helpful. I will plan to return to Monro again for future scheduled work.

My car was unexpectedly smoking and I stopped her just to see what the cause was. They quickly got me in without an appointment and saw I needed brakes, rotors, and calipers. It wasn’t something I expected, but they squeezed me in and quickly replaced.

Thomas and Felix were the best. They were very thorough and explained everything in detail about my car. Definitely going back and definitely recommend.

EDIT: For those of you who may be scrolling through these reviews and notice that Monro appears to respond to negative reviews with an encouraging message to contact their customer service, you should know that that concern is feigned only for appearance sake. By means of an example, I called their customer service BEFORE writing my review, was given a non-answer for my inquiry, was told someone would return my call within a few days, and have since not heard heard a single word from them.I would really discourage anyone from going to this shop. They do not honor their warranties. But if the provider isnt going to honor their promised warranty, then they really cant be trusted with your vehicle. The paperwork you receive may allege to provide a lifetime warranty for parts and a year-long warranty for labor, but they will tell you that since you drove away with the car without complaining, their obligation to perform on the warranty is void and that some other event that they cannot identify is responsible for their work falling apart 3 months later. If you dont mind paying for work only to have it fail on you a few months later and then be told that the warranty wont be honored... then by all means give this garage a shot! But, if you value professionalism, workmanship that holds up, and a business that lives up to its promises, then I would suggest avoiding this place.

Tom at the Hamden Monroe is great. My car was having some issues and I came in right before they closed and he was nice enough to stay later to help me out. I expressed how I had to work the rest of the week and I didn’t have the means to just be able to leave my car. He didn’t want me to drive away knowing my car was having an issue. This is a great auto shop. Tom was so helpful and fit me in when he was extremely busy. He is a hands on manager who is willing to help you with whatever you need. Not only did he fit me in, he figured out the problem with my cars battery quickly, efficiently and for a great price. He also helped my partner with his car and was very fair with the price- he even included some discounts. I used to go to firestone but I am switching to Monro because firestone couldnt figure out my car problem but Tom at Monro was able to do it.

Thomas is a liar. My tires were supposed to be rotated with the oil change. He stated that they were, and put it in writing, but I know they werent because I had just had a tire plugged which was in the same place. If you lie about one thing then youll lie about anything. It was a free service in addition to the oil change which is why I didnt bother to file a complaint with DMV, but Ill never do business with them again. Plus my vehicle wasnt ready in the specified time.

This place is a scam. I had an issue with my cars break. Went to this place to have a look. Quoted more than $600. Luckily, an Uber driver who picked me up from this place told me that this place will probably ask for $600-$700, and advised me not to go for it. What he told me was right. Took my car to the dealer shop and fixed my car in a half price. I thought dealer shop is pretty expensive, but this place is taking advantage of their customer. Bad experience with the receptionist also.

Great customer service, got me in and out quickly! (Original post)Follow up review 9/30/20I wrote this original review while in the waiting area as my Jeep was being finished (oil change) immediately after I was offered a $15 discount.Fast forward to the next day, (Monday)one day after the oil change. My jeep is experiencing a very rough vibration at low speeds and at idle. I called the shop back and because of timing issues we agreed I would bring the jeep back the next day(Tuesday). I bring it in and pop the hood only to find out my coolant levels were extremely low even though the tech signed off as checking my fluids, windshield wiper fluid also empty.The tech then drove my Jeep into the bay said he noticed a low oil pressure warning on the dash on the way. Him and the other tech present went and googled God knows what, then came back out and told me there was a open recall on my Jeep. I then performed the recall lookup for my VIN and showed them I am up to date with all recall repairs. I then told them again... I did not have this issue until they worked on my Jeep that past Sunday.Long story short they basically told me to kick rocks and to bring it to the dealer.So the record is straight.. I brought my 2016 wrangler in for a oil change they changed the oil, signed off as they checked and topped off all fluids(did not actually) and next day my Jeep is experiencing low oil pressure and rough vibrations when idled. But somehow they arent at fault or involved with the issue.Horrible customer service, Ill never go there again and Im going to make it my business to spread the word about this romper room cast of characters and their lack of professionalism and customer service.Glad you replied to my original review, reminded me to update this with the new details.SM
