I called on a Saturday. Ive been a resident of Hamden for 25 years so I know we can be a somewhat direct bunch. But Anthony who answered the phone should win a prize. It was almost like he was trying to drive me away. Guess what...it worked! Sherwin North Haven informed me I wasnt the only customer Anthony had driven their way. Guess Hamden Sherwin doesnt need the money. Must be nice!

The Dixwell Ave, Hamden Sherwin Williams Store is my go-to when I need paint/supplies or advice on a project. This location is well organized, tidy and convenient, and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

Hamden Sherwin is next level incompetent. The staff was unable to mix a custom stain by doing the simple math of converting from quart to gallon. Then unable to email the correct formula to another store that understood what was needed. Nothing but excuses. This isnt the first time I have had dealt with this store and had problems with incorrect stain mixes. Do yourself a favor and drive past this one and go to another store. Very disappointing.

Great store. The sales persons are always knowledgeable and helpful. I prefer going here to a big box store. Its much better customer service

Employees are not experts, to say the least! We went to this store specifically because it only sells paint. We figured that the employees would know what they’re talking about & we needed advice on how to paint over wallpaper, which I’ve heard can be tricky. The salesman apparently didn’t have a clue what we were talking about when we asked a question. His answer to everything we asked was “Depends on your personal preference”. Personal preference?! My personal preference would be for him to answer the question with a bit of knowledge! That’s is far from what we got, though. We got ZERO help from him & still don’t know what we are supposed to do. Headed to Home Depot right now!

The location is convenient. the hours (opened at 7:00!) are extremely convenient in that I stopped before work, when there are no crowds). The guy behind the counter has helped me in the past - he is knowledgeable and friendly and efficient. And the sales are always good!

You will not find better customer service anywhere else. Shop here and you will not be disappointed. No matter your experience level, the staff has the expertise to help you properly select the correct paint and supplies for your project. They have extended store hours till 6 pm and are also open on weekends.

Excellent products, I feel I’m always getting quality paint and accessories. Helpful, courteous sales personnel. Particularly on this visit, the man who helped us was terrific.

Don’t recycle paint containers at this location. They don’t take back pain due to “space” limitations. Try another drop off location like the New Haven Sherwin Wiliams location as they always take back pain and they are super helpful for paint and supplies as well.

We have tried different brands of paint. Sherwin Williams is always the final choice for us
