Came by for a state inspection. Was completed quickly and professionally. They even put down a plastic cover for when they sat in my vehicle.

No point on calling their number when all they do is let it ring then let an automated voice-mail repeat the same steps over and over. Youre better off going in person than online. Disappointed

Went into the shop 5 minutes before closing time to get my car scanned for a check engine light and was told by every employee in the shop that they sold their one and only scan tool. How can you claim online that you offer that service free of charge and end up telling me you dont have the tool to get the job done in the first place? Thats false advertisement and Im sure all the employees there were just too lazy to even do their own job since they dont get paid enough to care. I wasted my time and gas heading over there.

Pepboys is always so busy and I was afraid they would take long on my car. They were actually really fast at fixing my tire. I purchased tires here, so patching my tire was at no cost to me.

Once again I try to do business with your company and once again I receive bad service. Bought tires from the Harlingen Tx. Location, ( by the mall) months later I came for my tire rotation that is due. They tell me it will take an 1hour and 30 min to do the work. Came back and my truck had not been worked on. I looked down the shop bay and only saw 2 vehicles in it. Not sure why my truck had not been worked on. Will never do business with your company again. I recommend Discount Tires where service is great and prices are extremely competitive if not better!

I was waiting to ask the worker how much it was gonna cost to fix my car for the issues I was having a long it’s gonna take and the worker was completely ignoring me doing other stuff I just left I could’ve been taken care of after asking me what I needed but I was just making ignore there for 25 minutes and it’s 25 minutes west of my time so I’m never getting going to go there and then I recommend anyone to go there unless you want to be ignored

Friendly helpful staff. Stays open later than other shops on Saturday. Call ahead if you need hard to find items . At this time masks are Required. Bring your own beverage. Water cooler still not allowed to be turned on, but restrooms open.

Great service through amazon! I ordered new tires fro my car on Amazon and was able to schedule service here at Pep Boys at checkout. The tires were shipped directly to the store in two days and Pep Boys were able to mount and balance them even though they had low sidewalls. Some other national chain tire shops are not as accommodating. The wait can be a little long, but that seems to hold true no matter where you go for auto service.

Pep Boys is OK for an oil change or to buy tires but anything other than that you will pay MORE than the dealership. I took car in to get an estimate for replacing the AC compressor so, I called yesterday to get an idea and was told to bring the car in to let them look at it. I said on the phone This is not going to cost like 2000$ right? and the guy replied No, it will cost like $900 So, I take the car in just like he said they look at it for 20 minutes pretty much after I told them everything.... I got an estimate for over $2,230....and they charged me $40 for that on top. Of, course I said No, thanks. There were 3 or 4 guys standing around and sweeping the floor...however, the price of getting any real mechanic work done is far TOO High for a reasonable person to pursue, I guess this is how they get people to apply for the Pep Credit card...I really dont see how this place stays in business. .....Bottom line: if you need any sort of real mechanical work done you will pay 2 or 3 times more than anywhere else at Pep Boys. So, pay over $2,200 for an ac compressor at a place that has a 3.8 customer satisfaction rating???? If you make that choice that is on you!

Changed my review.I am NEVER coming back again.I thought my battery was dying out, and took my car here.I mentioned to the guy at the desk, it may be the alternator as well... And he told me he was going to diagnose it before hand. I showed him a photo of my cars dashboard, it had the full dashboard on. He ignored that, apparently.I drove my car no more than 20 miles later, and the car STALLED.Luckily a friend knew it was the alternator. He changed it out within a day.I cant believe that Pepboys did that! No diagnostics, literally just a swap and go battery.Which Im HOPING is the battery that was in my receipt.I also arrived a little before 7pm that day... But no excuse if they wanted to go home on time. Hardly any cars in the garage. No excuse.I put a review on the email... still no call back. Its been 3 days!

Dont expect great customer service. Joe the sup appeared to had a tough morning. I said hello, he didnt acknowledge me for 5 mts, said it would take 5 hours to check my car with no guarantee it would be checked. He could simply said we are not accepting more cars... Do way with the attitude.

Okay so I take my car on Wednesday and spark plugs needs to changed. I pay $$. Saturday my car is acting up. I take to Nissian and spark plugs need replacing. $$. Wow.

I had the Boys replace the 2 front shock absorbers on my Chevy Tahoe they did an outstanding job. Expert advise on needing an alignment. Very cordial service.

I am impressed! I dont usually leave reviews but these guys really impressed me. You Know how we dont really trust mechanics? Well I took Moms old Tahoe in because it was leaking oil or something (she said). Left it with them overnight, they called the next day to say they found no leak.i asked if they had driven it around before looking for the leak and they said no and that would probably take another day. I figured this was when they were going to sock it to me, but instead they said they drove it for 30 min. and left it on the lift and there was still no leak. They had their chance to scam an old lady and integrity won out! Who would have thought? Thank you Pep Boys my faith is restored.

Was told my trucks tires would be done getting balanced in 2 hours, only to be told that they havent even been touched so I then had to wait an additional 2 hours for the service to be complete. That staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Service was great. They were fixing to close when I showed up but went ahead an serviced my truck. Went that extra mile 4 me so I give em 5 stars.

I had an appointment at 10:00 am. By 10:45 they still had taken my car back. I asked when they thought they would. I was told it would not be till 11 when 2 more employees came. I had to pick my children up from school by 11:30. I ended up leaving. I was very frustrated that I had an appointment but that did not seem to mean anything. I will not be returning. Plus they only wanted to use the most expensive oil. I have since looked into it and I do not need that type. Felt if I had been a male they would not have tried to take advantage of me.

Always make an appointment, they are fast & accurate. They offer free tire rotation with oil change which is a plus! Also they inspect your vat & let you know if your vehicle has any issues. Once i went to Pep Boys i will not go anywhere else unless i do not have a choice.

The Pep Boys crew in Harlingen do a wonderful job for me. I have been coming to them for 4+ years now, and they always do a wonderful job with maintenance on my car. They always keep me fully informed and even call me whenever my car is finished. I would highly recommend them to anyone down here in the Rio Grande Valley.

Ok heres the deal! I dont have any problem with the quality of repairs but oh my god! A $130/hr labor charge!!!??? Totally excessive in my opinion!!!! Staff was friendly! Oh check your receipt because they threw a $66 charge for extended warranty on the final bill! Probably not a bad deal but for me who is planning on moving to Nebraska where there is no Pep Boys an unnecessary expense! However they were very agreeable to reversing the charge.

Waited for over 5 minutes to be acknowledged and then after I was acknowledged waited for service for 2 more minutes the two guys at the service department were too busy I wanted to buy 4 tires for the good deals pep boys had but as always service here is terrible. I would definitely NOT recommend anyone to shop here sorry but Ive been coming here hoping pep boys would improve their quality on service but they have not. Bought my new tires at discount tire instead.

Went to this location for state inspection. However, state inspection wasn’t available because no one could do it. However, they have a sign up saying they are an inspection station. False advertisement. Not good for a first time customer. Will never go back. Taking my business elsewhere.

Its usually my go to, place for my automobile woes. My last visit, they called me saying my tires are worn. Luckily, I said no, I cant replace them right now. When I picked up my car, I stuck a quarter thru the tread. MY TIRES WERE FINE. Kinda disappointed, after the years me and my family have taken our cars.Ashame Doug Russell has passed away.

Got a oil change and Waited almost 3hours for a fuel filter to be installed told us Ford was delivering the part got sick of waiting so I left called Ford and they said the part has been sitting on their desk waiting for them to pick it up wasted the good half of my day and now Im behind for work would not recommend things getting done in a timely manner and suggest finding another provider if your with lease plan or in a hurry

Went in for a simple Tire Swap but came out with a coil misfire, horrible cant believe something like this would happen, my truck has 54,000 miles went in there with no problem what so ever none, came out with a check engine lite and a coil misfire. They will not take responsibility but went to the dealership and they stated they were definitely messing with something they werent suppose to. Now i am forked with a big bill. NEVER I REPEAT NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO PEPBOYS.

My boyfriend brought our f350 in the shop yesterday around 9:30Am. He left the truck w them bc our AC wouldn’t blow cold. He expressed his concern, told them the symptoms, and allowed them the time to diagnose it. Around 11am he returned and they told him that the technician couldn’t get the compressor to even engage. That the compressor was not any good and basically anything AC related all the way down to the firewall was going to need replaced bc of possible contaminants . The man quoted us a price for all new parts and labor and stated it was not able to be repaired. The bill if replaced plus labor fees was a little under $2,100.00!!!!!! We paid the diagnosis fee of around $66.00 and left. We decided to take it to Harlingen Boggus Ford. WHAT A LIFE / MONEY SAVER!!!!... True diagnosis: The temperature sensor plug was not connected and they connected it as well as replaced my front axel u-joint for $462.00 after taxes. AC works perfect!!!! And new u-joint!!! This PepBoys lived up to it’s BAD REVIEWS!!!!! I would give it less than 1 star if I was offered the option. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! They either tried ripping us off or just didn’t have any knowledge on the subject matter!!! Either way I’m sure glad we went w our gut and took it to the Ford dealership !!!!!! Saved us over $1600.00 !!!!!!

My low tire light went off and I was driving past Pep Boys. I turned around and stopped there. I had my 8 year old little girl with me. I explained that I probably needed a tire fixed and he came out to look at it.He takes one look at the tire (still on the car) and tells me that its flat and he cant fix it. I asked him if he can sell me a tire, he said that they dont have that tire (apparently he has the stores tire inventory memorized). I explained that if my tire is flat and he cant fix it or sell me any tires, does he have any recommendations. He suggested that I call a tow truck and see if they can bring me a spare...he basically said that my daughter and I were stuck and it wasnt his problem.Worst experience ever, but I happily bought 2 new tires from a competitor and was good to go an hour later.

Took my car at in the morning for a quick oil change, took nearly 1 hour and 45 min! I was waiting in disbelief, there was only one other car there (went at 8:00am). I just asked for oil change and nothing more. Try to avoid if possible!

They talked to each other like I was not there. I finally asked how much longer and the manager sighed and called to ask how much longer like i was inconveniencing him. Needless to say I will not return to pep boys for oil changes. Theres a severe lack of customer service skills.

They damaged my car interior paneling when I went in for a simple parts replacement behind the dash. Completely cracked open the plastic near the radio and they said thats just what happens sometimes and didnt care at all.Dont go here, your car will be more damaged when it leaves than when it arrives.

Went in one day, no mechanics on site, had to leave it overnight cause I dont live near harlingen. No huge deal. Went in next day and they lost my paperwork and keys. Didnt my have any idea what they did to my truck and all I asked for was a wheel alignment. Drove of into the sunset to realise nothing changed to my trucks performance. Came back and said now I needed to drop 70 more bucks for a balance and leave it another 3 hours. First guy I dealed with had no clue about warranty prices. Finally a third gentlemen finally gave me good advice. Bring a lawn chair to sit on when your waiting to be helped.

Over the years, Ive come to feel that my car comes back worse than when I first took it in. Some of the counter personnel arent so friendly either. Ruben is awesome.

Went in today to get the basic break job then they tell me that the entire rear breaks system need to be replaced for 918 dollars. Took them 2 hours to life up my vehicle and remove the back tires and say well everything is messed up. Went to a local mechanic changed out the pads and rotors in 45 mins said break calipers are fine pepbous was trying to screw me over. I will never return to pepboys again.

This should of been a sign when the Pepboys associate checks your oil with his fingers and then opened your door with oil on his hands doesnt carry a rag to wipe oil off the dip stick or doesnt wipe his hands dirty oily hands to open the door and press the button to check the mileage.Dropped off vehicle at 11:00am to get oil change and inspection sticker done. Picked up at 2:38pm pepboys associate lets me know that state inspection was still not done Tech had gone to lunch and would have to continue waiting. Decided to pay for the oil change and not to continue waiting for the tech to come back from lunch for the state inspection. In the receipt there was a courtesy service charge of $2.50 but they could not wipe the dirty black oily finger prints off the sides of the vehicle (hood, sides of the truck and back right passenger door when they had no business to be checking the back seats because they only had time for the oil change). The main reason I decided to go to pepboys was because they did inspections on Sundays not for their over priced oil changes and undisclosed service fees.

Good price on tires and auto parts

Bunch of clowns. I called first to get prices before I agreed to go in. When the truck was done, absolutely everything had an inflated price. The parts, the labor and then there were a myriad of mystery charges like shipping, labor warranty etc. My estimate went from $300 to $600 dollars. When I challenged them on it, they matter of factly fixed each issue line by line only if I protested them like it was just business as usual and no big deal to get caught ripping people off.The actual service was not good either, Ill just leave it at that.If you must use them, call first, get the OUT THE DOOR price and get the guys name is all I can say.
