I ordered two sandwiches today a punkhill and a Chelsea creek with modifications. My Chelsea creek was not made to order. I go back to the store and ask them to remake it. Now they give me a punkhill with no Mayo or sauce on it??? When I expressed I was highly upset about receiving not one but two mistakes Tom looks in my face and says “it was my fault.” I looked at the two girls, one who took my order the other who tried to help fix order, and told them I’m positive it wasn’t their fault and headed for the door. As I’m leaving I get a very sarcastic “have a good day!” From Tom. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve worked in food service for 6 years I would never treat a customer this way. Oh and they did not offer a refund!

I always get such great service here! Their coffee is amazing and I literally crave the block island sandwich daily! Easily one of the best breakfast spots Ive ever been to!

I ordered a cortado. A cortado is equal parts espresso and milk. I think what I got was an americano with steamed milk on top, or possibly a café au lait. It tasted like watery burnt coffee with steamed milk. Not good. The service was not friendly. I said thank you and received no response. Finally, there is an indoor mask mandate in place in Massachusetts right now and I saw only one employee out of four wearing a mask.

Breakfast sandwiches are incredible. Best in Newburyport. But I felt compelled the write this review simply because the staff collectively are the nicest group of people.

I dont normally write reviews based off of one bad experience but I feel like the management really needs to have a conversation about personal hygiene with one of their employees. I understand skipping a shower if youre having a bad day but this employee smelt like she bathed soley in cat urine. It was horrible. The smell just turned my stomach and I couldnt even bring myself to finish my coffee. Its the kind of smell you can taste in your mouth. Since this is an eating establishment this needs to be addressed. She had short dark hair with glasses. Again, I dont nornally write reviews but the smell this woman gave off made sitting in this cafe unbearable. This is coming from someone who worked as a janitor for 3 years while in college. I know stink and that employee REEKS.

Great place for a refreshing beverage or sandwich. The Breakfast looks good, but havent tried it yet so cant say how it is. From my experience though with lunch sandwiches is very good, the prices maybe alittle high for some. I enjoyed the open and lively environment with good/relatively comfortable seating throughout the cafe. I would definitely recommend just based on my satisfaction with sandwiches themselves.

Christian & Mason are just staff members here but they go above and beyond and deserve a visit & recognition for their customer service. They are a credit to this business and as a business owner myself wish I had the pair of them in my restaurant hopefully the owner sees this - 10/10

The concept of the coffee shop is great but the food is not so great. I live right next door so I try to support local businesses as much as possible but for the amount of money youre spending on their products you would think they wouldnt be so bland....my cinnamon bun had barely cinnamon in it and the Nutella acai bowl I ordered was just disgusting....Kaldis across the street is 100 times better with much better prices than battlegrounds.

Besides their uncontrollable fly problem, their staffing/baristas are completely unprofessional. They will sooner laugh you out of the store and flat out ignore you, leaving you there waiting to just order for 15+ minutes as they talk to their coworkers. Dont recommend coming back, its a shame, this place used to be much better.

Sadly if they don’t know you, you won’t get fast service. I’ve waited 6-10 min for an espresso in ice atleast 3-4 times and even have to mention I’m waiting for an espresso just sitting there while they make all these fancy drinks and talk to customers about there day without even making drinks. The coffee is amazing but the high schoolers that work there lack immense barista skills and customer service. I shouldn’t have to watch 3-4 people order drinks and get them served and watch them leave while I’m just standing there waiting for an esspresso that’s been sitting there for 10 min by now

Try a cinnamon toast crunch latte. Guarantee that you will be hooked! Tries the coffee about 4 times every single time it was awesome. Tried a breakfast sandwich for my girlfriend and I and we each had different sandwiches, both were amazing. Get your breakfast/lunch!

Good coffee, right in historic downtown Haverhill. The owner is a military veteran (like myself) and one of the servers is also a military veteran that I wound up talking to for about 25 minutes. Really friendly staff and everything was clean.

They forgot to the tomato on my sandwich and replaced the multigrain for sourdough without telling me. Avocado was also very underripe which is especially frustrating due to the up charge. Coffee was good though.

Love this place! It reminds me somewhat of The Wicked Big Cafe. The breakfast sandwich and coffee were delicious and really reasonably priced. Will definitely go back the next time Im in Haverhill.

Great atmosphere and amazing cold brew and bagles. This lovely coffee shop is in the heart of downtown Haverhill. They have a wide variety of hot and cold drinks and a decent selection of iced tea. I recommend the orange hibiscus iced tea. This place is way better than Starbucks. They have rainbow bagles and you can get them with Nutella!

Our breakfast sandwiches and coffees were perfect! Next time were going to try the Aci bowls. Coffee shop was very clean and bright, lots of seating. Definitely recommend this coffee shop!!

For example, my 16oz iced latte was 5 bucks, and a scone was 8 bucks. Staff are friendly and place is pretty clean. Good location where a lot of other restaurants are.

Favorite breakfast sandwich spot! Called order in to haverhill location... when I picked up order it was was not made correctly. Called them back and they were sincerely sorry, told me to come back for a correction and they will even bring it out for me. To my surprise, the owner came out and brought my two freshly made sandwiches.... I thought this action demonstrated the integrity of the restaurant as a whole. Not only is the food fresh and delicious... there is also a sense of pride in customer service. Highly recommend trying a croissant breakfast sandwich.

My wife and I have been dying to try this place for breakfast and we finally did after the farmer’s market. Not only is the food good, but the atmosphere is too. We both got the rainbow 🌈 bagel. She got hers with plain cream cheese, which she said was good. I got mine as the two egg breakfast sandwich with bacon. The sandwich itself was great. We both agreed that these bagels have to be the softest bagels either of us have ever eaten. She also got an iced mocha latte. She said was really delicious and strong. I got the blood orange iced tea sweetened. I thought it was flavored perfectly and really enjoyed it. This might be our new spot to stop after the farmer’s market every Saturday for breakfast!

Everything about this place is awesome because of the people that work there, especially Pete!!! Best breakfast food downtown hands down!!! The main reason why you guys deserve 5 stars is because of Jessica, making me an americano because I never had one before and how she didn’t have to charge me for the orange juice!! Great angus chili. Amazing new steak sandwiches. Life changing. Scones are great but often out of stock. Coffee is rather strong even as a latte. Steak sandwiches are a good value and I’m craving one right now

I like the idea behind some of visual aspects in this coffee shop, pairs well with the name. However the coffee just does not stand out for me, following by the food. Could just use more flavor, complexity, and really more ingredients. Purchased a $10 salad, it only had one small dressing, pear slices, and small amount of cheese. Basic for the basic

I understand you guys have a business to run. But I was with my friend and 3 little kids and we were approached and very rudely I’d say ask if we were going to buy anything. I’ve been in customer service for over 10 years, and idk. It wasn’t really that busy where we were taking up seats. I’m just messaging to say that I’ve supported this business obviously and I know I’m just one person, but maybe just work on some customer service skills. Just because we had kids with us or maybe don’t look like your average customer doesn’t mean we weren’t going to give you business. I had every intention of making a purchase but had a newborn in my arms and 2 little kids. Just wanted to share because customer service is really important. Maybe if some one came over and asked like oh can I get you something, not ok are you gonna buy something or leave essentially.We took up one small table in the back and I wanted to add, my friend was a wife of a veteran.

Very disappointed. Always loved the coffee and service. Ordered a cappuccino large with sugar and cinnamon she repeat she the order back to me without sugar and cinnamon I corrected the order. Sat at the bar and was served a cappuccino no sugar and no cinnamon in a paper cup. Wont be heading back any time soon. To bad I loved the cappuccino will miss ya.

I traveled over 1300 miles to taste an espresso at Battle Grounds Coffee and it was WORTH it! Their commitment to quality is obvious from the menu selections to the staff to the furnishings inside. You could feel the buzz inside from all the community involvement, this is no ordinary coffee place. Quite simply if you love good coffee and a fantastic atmosphere, this is a must stop shop.

I enjoyed super tasty grilled cheese and tomato soup, complete with gherkins, on a snowy night. Fancy teas and lattes. Breakfast all day and evening. The service is better than Ive seen anywhere in a long time. The place is run by a veteran and employs veterans.A bit pricy, but the food is hearty and well worth it.

I am a regular customer at Battlegrounds. The owners, Sal and Dana are fantastic people. Sal is a fellow veteran and I particularly enjoy this establishment as it is veteran owned but not your typical obnoxious bro-vet type of joint. All the staff are polite, courteous and always a pleasure to deal with.

Amazing! Great place for coffee, beer, or baked items. The coffee its strong and delicious. I love shopping local and am so happy I have found this place. They also have live music and poetry readings. The atmosphere is very friendly and the seating is a great setup. They have a small bar area, high top tables, and couches. They even have board games. Its a great place to meet with friends.

FINALLY!!!!! A great coffee shop has found its way to downtown Haverhill. The coffee is great! If you like cold brew you need to stop by and try it. They also offer pour over coffee. Not busy but it takes 10 minutes to get served and while the coffee comes out at a respectable pace, you have to wait over 30mins for a sausage egg and cheese. All the staff are kids and the kitchen is woefully understaffed. Cannot recommend this place. 86 on a lot of ingredients too. A ton of customers walking out without their food.Update waited 45 minutes for something I could have got at Dunkins in under 5 minutes.

Cool new spot in beautifully restored space thats a great addition to downtown Haverhill. Love the refinished original floors and ceiling. Great cup of coffee served with a pleasant smile. Looking forward to trying a Gourmet Grilled Cheese with cold beer thats on tap.

Best coffee Ive had in a long time! Worth a trip to Haverhill. Staff was friendly and could talk both coffee and any topics of the day. They roast their own beans (which you can buy), can make any coffee in house, have food, beer, wine and kombucha. It gets better, its family and veteran owned. They serve their community and are a gathering place for Vets. Keep up the good work and coffee drinkers should not miss this place!!
