DisappointedBerger Appliance was recommended to me when I was renovating and needed all new appliances. So, when I needed to replace my air conditioner, they were the only vendor I considered. I received a call last week that they would have my AC by the end of the week. The gentleman wanted to arrange a delivery time. I explained that due to my work schedule I needed mornings. He put me down for Tuesday morning and suggested I call to get a more accurate window.As suggested, I called this morning and was told that it would be between noon and 2:00 PM. I mentioned that I was told it would be the morning. The response was ‘I don’t know who you were talking to but mornings for us is between 9 and 1:30.’ Instead of trying to switch things so that my expectations were met, I had to switch the day to Friday. Now, is three days a big deal? No. Expectations were set by one employee and the employee I spoke with didn’t even apologize. No acknowledgement of my schedule and commitments as if only theirs countedWhile I will still purchase from them in the future, I am very disappointed with the way I was treated.

Over the years my family and I have gone to Berger appliance instead of ordering on Amazon or purchasing from Home Depot so as far the service goes we never experienced a problem. The drivers though have to be the most reckless truck drivers Ive ever seen. On June 30th one of the Berger Appliance employees driving a Berger Appliance with license plate 68468MM caused a near fatal accident when he decided to be reckless and cut off in front of us. You would think that employees driving larger vehicles would be more cautious instead they put the life of others at risk, my daughter and I shouldnt have to deal with your reckless drivers that might not even have a valid license. Most companies hold drivers to a certain standard but it seems like Berger Appliance doesnt care how the drivers present them on the road. I called and asked to speak to Jim the owner and of course he refuses to speak to me so maybe hell respond after this review. Thanks for traumatizing my daughter and for letting us know to go down the road to Home Depot instead, my co workers have seen the footage of your drivers behavior so feel free to go on youtube and take a look for yourself.

I am in the middle of a terrible experience with this store. I went in to buy a washer/dryer 3 weeks ago and chose a set on showroom floor that was not in stock. Salesman showed me photos of a set which was “the same just larger capacity,” which I then purchased. Upon delivery I found out it was 2” higher and $60 more for each machine- two important facts the salesman neglected to mention. I complained and they agreed to swap machines to original ones I chose once they came in to their warehouse. Then I was told only washer available, dryer unspecified wait time. A week later, the washer was delivered WITH the dryer (which apparently was another customer’s order). Two days later, I went to pull a sheet out of the washer and the center agitator pole piece came up with it. In 50 years of owning appliances, I’ve never seen anything like that. You could hear a loose screw shaking around somehow in the cylinder. I called store to complain and they offered to call GE service -which was unacceptable to me on a brand-new machine. Now they are saying they are willing to swap it once another machine comes into their warehouse in a few weeks, but they will not take back the dryer. This is an unreasonable, unacceptable solution, since I need a W/D set. Lacking their cooperation, I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company. First they deliver a set whose specs I was unaware of. Second they deliver a machine meant for another customer. Third, that machine is defective. Three strikes, you’re out.UPDATE: Owner has just agreed to take back machines and give full credit. While I commend him on his courtesy, I can’t honestly recommend this store now, since the overall experience was not good..

My 35 year old Friedrich AC decided it had had enough during the little heat wave we had. Berger Appliances installed a new AC within a week! EVERYONE I spoke with and I believe I spoke to everyone was knowledgeable patient and kind.

I dislike public shaming but would like to save anyone who reads this a headache. We just did a full renovation and went to Berger, spending over 18 K on appliances. Overall this place is nice up front but has Atrocious, lazy customer service. After they charged our credit cardthe ball was dropped entirely. Our appliances were delivered and their were issues with no follow up on their behalf. We were told the handle of the fridge came on a chosen side but it arrived on the “factory” side, and we were uninformed until they told us we were going to have to pay extra for the handle to be switched. Our fridge was then left sitting in the middle of our kitchen for 5 days. I had to make multiple phone calls to track down our salesperson, While the problem did get resolved by Thermador — guess what, no follow up from Berger! I’d never go here again.

I bought my first appliances from this store when I bought my house 30 years ago. They were great then and they are still great now! I needed to replace a specific size model refrigerator which was the only one that fit the granite/cabinet cutout. I know that this particular model is in extremely high demand because of the pandemic. Not only were they persistent in being able to get it for me before the time estimate, but they even gave me a better price than the big box stores were advertising without me even asking. The delivery men came today and they were extremely knowledgeable, courteous and professional. All around tremendous service from the Berger team! Im still a happy customer 30 years later!

Once again, Bergers has failed to address the extremely serious issue of public health during a deadly global pandemic! For the second time in about a month, I entered the store, and before too long saw a staff member with no mask on at all, talking on the phone and coughing. After having previously spoken with management about this, and being told they would be following up, I had hoped they would address this but apparently they are not doing so, or are not bothering to do any sort of real-time oversight to prevent this from continuing. This is utterly unacceptable during a global pandemic in which our region is being hard-hit right now. People are dying from covid19. Bergers has lost us as customers for the time being. As a front-line public health responder who is putting myself at risk to get many thousands of New Yorkers vaccinated, Im deeply disappointed that Bergers cant handle such a basic, simple and easy way to help protect their customers who want to support local business. I wish this wasnt so deadly serious but, it is.

Berger Appliances came highly recommended by my neighbor and dozens of others in and around Westchester. I needed a new washer and dryer and after doing some extensive research, I decided to visit Berger. I was blown away by how competitive the prices were --- I could not find the appliances any cheaper and they also delivered, installed, and removed my old machines for FREE! Whats more... I visited the store on a Friday and had my machines installed by Tuesday. It was a very pleasant experience and Rich and the entire staff were fabulous to deal with. I will certainly be going back for any future appliance needs. Thank you for an awesome experience!

So many people recommended this place that when my dishwasher died I didnt shop around. I researched the features we needed, set a price cap, and noted the two most reliable brands from Consumers Report. We were treated with respect and ditected to two units that meet our criteria. There was absolutely no upselling! Im a fan now. BTW Bergers Hardware next door had been a favorite of mine for decades. I just never bothered to give this place a serious look.

Fantastic store....very helpful people with reasonable prices. Went there to purchase Air conditioners, they were very informative and offered me multiple options...the person I spoke to was very informative and helped me make a good choice. They offered installation also, the installer came on time and were very professional....the did a great job. I would recommend this place to everyone is Westchester county.

Pros: Good selection, timely delivery, competitive pricing. Cons: Service. Once the delivery guys leave, the adventure begins! Follow-up is hit-and-miss, and problems linger because no one seems to take ownership (delivery guys, technicians...). You better hope conditions in your house are perfect for your new appliance! I give 3 stars because nice guys run the place, but they have to get the post sale part improved.

So dissatisfied they dont deserve l star. Ordered dishwasher from Bergers. Wanted an inexpensive one and sold us a $400 one & claimed it was as good as others for $200 more. Asked salesman, Jim, if they were all standard size and he said they were. Had product delivered by electrician (which cost over $200) and he realized it was to high to fit in space. Took old one out and called store for one that would fit. Told me he had a GE for $200 more, had no choice so we agreed. I looked up prices at Home Depot and 3 other stores and they were in the low $600 range. When I went to store to settle bill (also brought in the adds for other stores) was told it was $300 more. He said they had a restocking fee and they only made $100 on machine. I am now stuck with a dishwasher which cost almost $1,000 and I dont like it...too small and if I knew I was going to pay so much I would have shopped around. Once they removed old one, they knew we were stuck. Have been shopping there for over 30 years...never again & will let all my friends know about this.

I am disappointed to be writing this review, after being a loyal customer for over 25 years, buying major appliances for my Westchester home and also my NYC condo. My wife and I went to the store to buy a replacement for our high-end Miele dishwasher. The guy who approached us immediately started telling us what we should and shouldnt buy, instead of hearing and answering our questions and helping us figure out what we wanted and needed. Buy the basic machine, thats all you need . . . I have the top-of-the-line at home but you dont need that. When I asked him to please answer our questions and help us decide what we want, he said, Youre talking to the owner of the store. As if that entitled him to be rude to us. I told him that we had been frequent customers for 25 years, and instead of responding to me politely, he said, indignantly, Ive been here for 46 years. When I asked if we should shop elsewhere, he turned and said yes as he walked away from us. I never raised my voice or spoke impolitely to him, and he seemed intent on losing a good sale and long-time customer. In that, he succeeded. Go elsewhere, its not worth it to put up with being treated in this manner.

I bought an air conditioner on their private sale day in March. I am a long time customer. But this is my last purchase from Berger Appliance. There was anyone to help me. They got the installation time wrong and I had to take a second day off from work. They didnt leave me with the serial number or model number for warranty. It all adds up.

Price beats HD or Lowes, free installation and free haul away (I dont think HD or Lowes offer these service for free any more). Bergers service is superb!!! A big shout-out to Gary and Rob! We bought a washer recently, the two gentlemen tried every way and thought out of the box to get the machine to our basement, installed and tried the machine to make sure everything is good and working. Highly recommend this store to everyone we know!

I would give 10 stars if I could. For the purchase of appliances for our new home, we worked with Rob. The showroom has a great selection and we had read Consumers Reports beforehand. But Rob gave practical advice about the various brands and how different options would meet our needs. We initially selected kitchen and laundry room appliances based on one design, but Rob worked with us to make changes as the design of the rooms was refined. We needed a stackable washer and dryer that had the smallest clearance, and he suggested highly rated but reasonably priced Electrolux units for us. They saved a crucial 3-4 inches. He guided me towards a Wolf range versus cooktops and ovens. That saved us a bit of money. He caught the need to change the Subzero refrigerator from French doors to left opening when the size of our island changed. I have probably called 6-8 times with questions or schedule changes; Rob has been gracious and helpful (and certainly patient). The installers he recommended have been professional, fairly priced and helpful too. Our home renovations have been extensive. We have been pleased with the work of our contractor and the subs he brought to our home. But the shining star in this process has been Rob and Bergers. We love him. We love this appliance store. Do not bother with big box stores and their service. This store has everything you could wish for!
