We need more places like this in our lives. A real honest to goodness bookstore. Really great selection of the unique books, great reads, and quality items. If they don’t have it the owner is amazing at looking things up and getting special orders in. She was even able to get books that online AtoZ shops didn’t carry. Really nice kids section and have seen them doing events like story time.

Books on B is a charming, robust bookstore full of heart and soul. They carry pristine quality used books and an enticing collection of new classics and socially relevant books for both children and adults. I felt like a kid in a candy store; every shelf offering more good reads.Renee is smart and kind, and will order anything you dream up. The best part is that Books on B gives back to the children of our community through local nonprofits, schools, and the Childrens Hospital. I cant imagine a better bookstore right here in our community. Yay!

Fabulous service. Renee was able to order books for me that she did not stock. The transaction and pick up could not have been easier with a scheduled pick-up time due to COVID. I will certainly plan a return visit when I have more time to wander the aisles.

Per website instructions, I sent an email describing what I would be browsing for, stopped by 30 minutes later and there was a delightful selection of books waiting for me to look through. The people here are great! The store is very COVID safe (service at the door, no entry) and has a wonderful selection of locally-focused books. I asked for plant identification books and looked through books on Bay Area plants, garden mixology, Native American traditions, and they offered to email me when more books on the topic came in.

Everything about this store is perfect. Renee has a fantastic selection of books and will happily order something for you if she doesnt have it. Its definitely a community place, with Saturday morning childrens reading corners and special events. Dont shop at the Rainforest Company online; buy local and support bookstores.

Ive always loved the selections and services at this location. While everyone there is obviously an avid reader, I felt no judgement for just wanting to pick up a new copy of my favorite young adult series. Theyve always got what Im looking for, book or comic, and if they dont, they order it. Highly recommend.

I was looking for postcards and reached out via email to inquire. Renee promptly replied and showed me the variety. I ordered and picked up from Snappys Cafe. Id like to visit when the pandemic is not as big of a deal.

Tried to call and place an order, but the woman on thr phone tried to make fun of the way I talked. Wr obviously come from different cultures but there is no need to down play a person for ones personal opinion. Just have good customer service rather than being bias and discriminating towards a person. I never said anything wrong beside ask questions about the book as a customer should be welcomed to do but instead got disrespected by the woman who answered the phone. Worst book store service.

One of the coolest Bookstores I have been to. They have an amazing book selection! I was able to find some of my favorite authors. The vibes were very welcoming and you feel right at home. I’m looking forward to going back and picking up a few more books on my list!

Books on B is a treasure in downtown Hayward! In the short time that its been open it has already proven itself to be a cornerstone of the business community. Perfect for grabbing the latest best-seller or for aimless browsing, the store is filled with more books and finds than youd expect for its cozy size. Renee has done a fabulous job of giving Hayward an independent book store and stocking it with a wide variety of new, used and rare books. No matter your genera, youre sure to find something exciting to read!

This place is magical. Renee is truly one of the nicest and most helpful person I know and you couldnt ask for a better local bookshop. She has a good selection on a wide variety of topics (and many are 2nd hand to save you some money) and what she doesnt have shes always happy to order in (which is always quick and easy). She has comfy chairs that are perfect for reading to yourself or even snuggling in with your kid. I love this place.I recommend swinging by with a cup of coffee, take your time and leave with a new friend or 10.

This store is really nice.. Its good to finally have a locally owned book store. You get used and new books at really great prices. The owner is this amazingly friendly person.
