Great experience man saved my amp. Marshall input had been replaced nicely, then had given me some information about my amp that needed repairing and surgery went great. The best business technician out here 💯
Someone told me there was no one in the valley to do quality amp repair. This was distressing news, until I came across AAR. I brought Phil the Amp Medic my JCM800 and Belair 212, and let me tell you... the doctor knows whats ailing your noise maker. He knows what everybody needs. I would not recommend anyone but Phil if you need your tube amp serviced. Top notch and worthy of high dollar, but his rates are actually very reasonable. Not surprising from a true gentleman in the grand New York manner. Go get your rig singing, yo.-Finn
I recently took an older marantz am/fm receiver to repair.I told Phil, the owner,no rush. This is a very busy place as he does all the work.He looked into fixing the unit but not enough time to take it apart with all the other work at hand.I picked it up with my deposit. Not sure if I will find someone as honest & knowledgeable. If he has time in the near future,I will bring the receiver back.
Was having issues with my bass cab. Dropped it off. Service was awesome, prcing awesome as well. Had my cab back to me within a week, and working better than before.
Phil is the most knowledgeable tube audio technician that I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Phil is not just a technician but a real music lover with excellent ears. this fact alone takes his restorations to many levels above the normal get by work and believe me I have tried them all. he is no different than a surgeon who is also an artist and most definitely has the ability to go far beyond what the original manufacturer could or would do. the pride in workmanship is second to none and is so refreshing to witness. guys like these are very hard to find anymore and I truly lucked out at finding Phil at Ampmedic. my tube amp and tube preamp are nothing short of phenomenal and I finally have discovered true audio bliss. I will say that you have to move out of the way so that a true master can be allowed to create brilliance. after the restoration is completed you can expect to have much more reliability built in as Phil had previously explained to me and that is also a major value as well. there is so much illusion out there and Phil really tells you like it is and with great humor I might add. my words are straight from the heart and are not fluff. THE REAL DEAL FOLKS AND I MEAN IT ! thank you, Mark
Phil knows more about tubes, electronics and how to make music sound good than most of the people that make music. Easy to work with. Call, make your appointment, drop off your gear and listen. Phil know a lot and isn’t afraid to share his knowledge. Thanks Phil.
Phil (AKA Amp Medic) is a true expert with vintage tube electronics and pro audio. He goes above and beyond to research and repair your equipment. He will get the best sound possible from your amplifier. More important, he makes sure the amp is electrically stable so it lasts a long time.
Rude and extremely unprofessional! I called asking if I could get a cabinet recovered with tolex. I explained that my cockatoo had gotten out and chewed a hole in the tolex and I was trying to be a good wife and have my husband’s equipment recovered for him. I also explained how I live 8 hours away and would be willing to make the trip if it was at all possible to fix and just stay with my family while I’m there. First I got the run around about how it’s a “pretty in depth procedure” and was asked if it was even really worth it, then he rattled on about different textures. I said “yes, I understand what goes into recovering with tolex, but if I can find someone to help me out it would be worth it. “ Then the guy said said “yeah, but then you’d have to see your family and nobody wants that cause having to stay with family is pretty terrible” I said told him all I was looking for was for somebody to help me fix the tolex and if he wasn’t willing to do it then maybes he could point me in the direction of someone that would. Then he tells me that since it was my bird that did the damage maybe I should just opt for a divorce cause it would be cheaper, then laughed. SERIOUSLY?! If this is how he talks to his customers, I have no idea how he stays in business! I told him that wasn’t even close to being funny and that I would just take my business elsewhere. Treating a customer like that who is willing to make the drive and pay the money for your services, NOT SMART! Just be honest and tell the truth, you’re lazy and don’t want to do the work! Shoppers beware! If his product is anything like his “customer service” save yourself the headache and money and shop elsewhere! Guitar Center is much more professional and if they can’t help you, they’ll get you the number of someone that can.
Extensive knowledge in his profession. Highly qualified and gives you the rundown in all the things.
Extremely unprofessional in communication. I explained the problems and that I simply didnt have time to take care of this. He said 100 min, I said fine, but what happens if he cant figure out the problem. His response was I dont know who YOU are and basically didnt care. I am a peer and could sling a lot of business his way, but he chose to go the terrible customer service route
This MF very rude. It is at his house. Very shady character.
This guy is totally unprofessional. I would rather pay double than be talked to like this guy talks to customers. Using the F bomb talking bad about other companies, laughing at you when you ask a question. Total tool do not give this guy your money!
This guy is very difficult to work with. The free bench check is $200. No receipt of work done. Cash only. No estimate of work to be done. If you think I lie, call him and find out what a creepy guy sounds like for yourself. Just avoid this guy and go to a regular store
This guy worked on my amp about a year and a half ago. He is a genius. Sits down with you, cracks some good jokes, and really dives in to your amp with you right there. He turned my 200W frankenamp into something special. Plus ask him about his secret preamp tubes. Un-freakin real
Very small shop, very knowledgeable and skilled technician. Very friendly and reasonable.
When my Marshall JCM 2000 DSL was giving me some unwanted noises I called upon Ampmedic to give it the professional, thorough attention it needed. Any and all ailments affecting my amps performance were diagnosed and promptly treated and now thanks to Ampmedic I have a newfound joy in my gear. If you are having any issues with your tube amplifier, as a satisfied customer I highly recommend giving Phil(Ampmedic) a call as it is obvious through his excellent work and knowledge that servicing tube amplifiers is his passion.
Is the worst service Ive seen with this man can not talk if he wants to have a hard time talk to him is anti profecional
