Kurt, Scott, and crew did an awesome job replacing my transmission in record time. Stopped by on Monday to have them check out my 2007 Dodge 2500 diesel truck, as I was pulling a heavy load and it was slipping bad from first to second. Diagnosis was not good, ordered and installed new transmission by cob on Wednesday! Was back on the road Thursday, drove over 1,100 miles towing a load with no issues!!! Kurt was exceptional and I highly recommend him. My family and I were traveling from Illinois when the transmission in my van decided to konk out. I called around to every dealership within a 60 mile radius and not a one could help me out as they were booked out atleast 4 weeks. The last dealership, upon my request, recommended Coggins transmission. I called, Kurt was very kind and offered to work it in to look at it if I could get it towed to him. Turned out it needed a whole new transmission. With out any other options to get it home we agreed to have him repair it, although it was going to take a few weeks. Leaving my van, we headed home. In the time he said it would take, my van was done, and all I had to do was pick it up. Kurt was very patient as I worked on getting it home. He kept in communication with me at all times, was honest, very informative and did a great job. My van runs better than ever. Thank you Kurt!

Im a visitor in this area. Transmission began acting weird. It is 2nd warranty replacement from Aamco, but they were nowhere to be found! After calling several local transmission shops and being told there would be weeks to wait, Kurt answered and offered to check out our problem, even with his full schedule! He truly listened as I described the symptoms, we discussed potential issues & he said he would take the case.After thorough inspection and cleaning and replacement of some suspect shift solenoids, he got me back on the road same day! Not only is the transmission performing perfectly, but I have never had such peace of mind that I have been served by a consumate professional with no ulterior motives to gouge my wallet!I swear the car runs better, the a/c blows cooler and sweeter, the radio plays better music, and the tires roll smoother, just because Kurt touched the car!!!!!I wish I lived closer to Hendersonville so I could depend on Kurt & Coggins Transmission for every auto maintenance action 🤣These guys ROCK!

What an amazing guy, and great work Curt provides. He is an extremely friendly man who is very accommodating and easy to get along with. He put a brand new transmission in my older model 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel when I broke down on the interstate from out of town and he did a great job, for a fair price, and kept me well informed, as he knew I was 200 miles from out of town and had to get a ride back home. I didnt even ask him to put a rush on it, as I have other vehicles to drive, but he was apparently accustomed to nonlocals needing their vehicle back when they live so far away, so I would say he a very good at triage, and has very good values. I know I may seem overenthusiastic, but I know that transmission people are a dying breed, and a good transmission guy that wont rip you off is hard to come by. I normally wouldnt choose anyone that I dont know to work on my transmission, but I didnt have much choice in this instance, I can vouch for Curt at Coggins Transmission, as he runs a great and honest business. Be leary of some transmission shops, that buy your total rebuild kit for over a thousand dollars, but only put in some of the parts that failed, so they can keep the rest and use on another customer, for you to only break down a few months later because your other transmission components failed that werent replaced. I feel confident that Coggins transmission wouldnt do this fraudulent practice to you. Theyre a great choice.

Called them after a dealership told me I need a new transmission without even seeing the car! Coggins took the time to explain over the phone what was most likely going on, that the part was most likely NOT the transmission, but unfortunately because of the age of the vehicle (old) would recommend a different repair center.. Which they did!Always VERY impressed when a vendor takes the time to explain and is honest especially when it could cost them business to recommend a potential competitor

Highly recommend... I was traveling with my wife and had car troubles with my Volkswagen. We were directed to Coggins and although they didnt service VWs, Kurt was nice enough to look under my hood and tinker around with my car to see if he could figure out what was wrong and eventually figured it out. This review is long overdue. Long story short, my wife and I bought a used 2006 Ford F-150 in the fall as a tow vehicle. We started towing a boat and travel trailer and noticed the transmission was slipping during large inclines. I called around and all the shops that I spoke to were either too busy or tried to sell me a rebuilt transmission. Here at Coggins, Kurt offered a much more prescriptive approach. He took the time and effort to walk through the issue over the phone and asked that I drop the vehicle off for him to look at and test himself. I was kept in the loop the entire time and all of the diagnostics were explained to me. Turns out there was a leak and our transmission fluid was very low. These guys repaired it at a very fair, reasonable price and we have been towing smoothly ever since! Thank you, Kurt and team! You have earned my future business for sure! Very rare to find folks like these at Coggins who are experienced, knowledgeable, and honest.

I am so thankful that there are still people with the integrity, honesty, and skills that Kurt possesses. I took my 06 GTO to a dealer and was told the differential had water in it and could not be repaired it was unserviceable. The only possible repair was to replace it if one could be found, and that was very unlikely or find one in a junkyard and take a chance. At any rate it would be 2500.00 at the best but most likely much more. I picked the car up and called Kurt, after explaining my problems he said to bring it over and let him take a look. Kurt researched all the parts and rebuilt the rear differential for a much much better price. The car fought him for days due to not many of them being around, but he kept me informed on a day by day basis! The car now is back better than new! Price was very good. My Miata now runs like a dream. I had taken it to an auto repair shop that I always go to and they told me that I need a new transmission, decided to get a second opinion on that and I’m so glad that I did I took her to Coggins and all that it s it needed was a new bearing and a clutch so he did he saved me a lot of money and I am so glad he’s in town and I will always take my Miata back to him again and any other car that I have thank you very much Mr. Coggins I would’ve given you 100 stars but they only gave five!!!

Our car developed a shudder while we were towing our boat from Florida to Lake Lure for a family vacation. I broke down on my way from Charleston SC to Kentucky.( Flex plate basically sheared off) One of the shops I called recommended Coggins and got dropped off there. Kurt was very professional and knowledgeable. Theys diagnosed the problem, walked me through the best and worst case scenario and than made it a priority to fix since I was basically stuck there. I cant say enough good things about my experience in their shop. Every auto repair place should be run like that. Honest, dependable and prompt.

I was so pleased to discover Coggins Transmission. Kurt was so helpful and explained everything to me. I had my Jeep Liberty (diesel) towed to Skyland Auto in Asheville, but they couldnt even figure out what the problem was (after it was there for 3 days) without charging me $500-$550 to remove the transmission, even though they had quoted me $89 to diagnose the problem! I refused to have them do any work, so I called Clear Creek Auto. to see if they could do it, they dont work on Jeep transmissions, so they referred me to Coggins Transmission--said they were an honest repair shop (and they were right!) Had my Jeep Liberty towed to Coggins, and he told me that afternoon the transmission wasnt getting pressure because the filter had a loose screw & had fallen out of place. He replaced the filter, serviced the transmission, cleared the codes, etc. Out-the-door cost $253. I highly recommend this transmission shop!
