I will not take our vehicles anywhere else but John Wootens Automotive to be worked on. This shop is top notch!! They took a car that I had already spent $2500 on at 2 other shops and finally figured out its problem and fixed it. I havent had another problem out of this car since, going on 2 years!They also took our 2500 Dodge truck that 3 other mechanics quoted fixing the AC at $1800-$2300. Figured out the problem and fixed it for $156.They will not cheat you or over charge you!!If you a mechanic you can trust this is the place to go!! 5 Stars all the way!

Took my car here they had it for a month and still couldnt even tell me what it could possibly be. Took it to another mechanic 2 days later and had it fixed 3 days after that. If I could give a zero star I would. Seems like mechanics didnt know what they were doing or didnt work on it at all. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND TO ANYONE

I would love to give these guys a billion stars. We were traveling from Raleigh North Carolina to Asheville North Carolina moving our kids and the truck that was pulling the trailer broke down. They helped us get it towed and they fixed it within an hour after they were closing and got us back on the road. Thank you so much you guys are awesome.. also have some pretty awesome little puppies there..

Great shop that went out of their way to help us. We were moving to Asheville when our truck that was pulling a U-Haul trailer started overheating. Our friends that were traveling with us got us to the shop. The receptionist called a tow truck for us. The owner said he could take a look at it that day. We got the truck in about an hour before closing to find out there was a huge hole in the radiator. The shop got the part in and stayed late in order to get us back on the road that day! The cost of the repair was very reasonable as well!! While waiting we got to visit with their 2 dogs, one of which put on quite a show of all his tricks. I highly recommend this shop! All the staff were very helpful!

John is so upfront and honest and the only one I trust to do my car. Some mechanics like to take advantage of you, especially if you are a woman, but John makes sure to take care of you for the best price. My whole family goes to him now. They are a really busy place and for good reason! Haha

There was a small issue which they were all too happy to make right. Fantastic customer service. They are busy so your repair may take some time, but good things are worth waiting for. You get more than what you pay for here. Id recommend John Wooten Automotive for all your automotive needs. Ill definitely be back.

We found ourselves stranded on 40 with no coolant while hauling our camper. After waiting 3 hours for our tow truck our dispatcher through good Sam said she couldnt find an auto shop to take us.We called John Wooten and they made sure we got towed straight to them. Within the hour they had repaired our truck and done a few extra things to keep us going and to our destination safely.The staff were all so kind and offered us snacks, drinks, and a place to charge our devices. They helped us so much and were reasonably priced.The only problem I have with John Wooten Automotive is that theyre too far away from where I live to have all my business.Highly recommend this place.

Wooten and his wife and daughter are so nice every time I come in makes you feel like you you are not strangers or just a business transaction. They been fixing my cars for years and there is nothing I can say bad about them.

My wife and I bought a Nissan and drove it straight there no issues with the plans of having them replace the transmission due to issues we was already aware of upon purchasing.. Well a year later the car is completely dismantled we are out of hundreds of dollars for labor that obviously hasnt been performed because we are currently having to take our car to another mechanic to not only have the said transmission installed but to also have him to replace the now useless engine. Since our simple transmission request went obviously undone and car set and set now our original motor that worked seemingly flawless is now seized up and useless...

In the last 11 years, John Wootens has worked on 6 different cars for my family, some quite aged and in disrepair. They have done exemplary work, and are people of integrity and kindness, costing well below the other estimates we got and going the extra mile for their customers. In my opinion Wooten should be shut down. We took our car in after in blew a timing chain. They charged us about $3000 to fix which I realize is a typical price. However, a couple days after getting the car back it blew another timing chain...it was never explained to us whether it was the same timing chain or a different one. Then if I understand it right, while working on it the second time, they burned something on the electrical box so a day or so after we got the car back we had to have it towed to them again. They supposedly fixed it but long story short, we’d had to have it towed to them six times, and it’s still not right. I wouldn’t recommend Wooten Automotive to my enemy.

I do not recommend this garage to anyone,my grandparents took there vehicle there for idling problems, 750 dollars later they was told the car was done . They picked there car up and the car was still not running right. Doesnt it seem odd that everyone who files a negative review on your company, you say you cant find them in your database or you say you have never did work for them ? The fact that you lie and say these people are not in your database is evidence enough to show how dishonest you are and how you run your business.

These people are very rude and they will mess your vehicle up worse than what it already is please never take your vehicle here!!!!!!!!

My husband Bruce and I have always received prompt, professional service for our cars at John Wooten Automotive. We highly recommend them for quality service at great prices.

I owned a 2006 Lexus ES330 which had close to 200,000 miles on it at the time. I wanted to have the timing chain, water pump, and freeze plugs behind the water pump replaced because of the miles on the car. I got three quotes for the work to be done. Two quotes from the same car dealer in Hickory on the same day( 1st quote $960, 2nd quote $785). I went to John Wooten Automotive and got a quote of around $600. Wooten Automotive got the job and the total bill was $570. I put another 65,000 miles on the car without any problems with the performance of the car.Thanks John Wooten,Phil Kusner

I rate this place a 0. They lie and they over charge people. Do not go to this place...they are worst than a car salesman. They tell you one thing just to get your money. Then they put in a used or a refurbished part in your car.

My disabled mom and dad took her car heRe for air conditioning repair, 8 visits and over $2,000. Later and its still not working, could have replaced whole system by now. Took forever each time and they wouldnt admit that they couldnt figure it out. And they lost her whole set of keys, someone had apparently taken them home with them for several days. And it had their house keys on it too. I went up there and pitched a fit told them if anyone broke into their house I would sue them. Kept being told they had honest workers. Lies! Dont go here. Know several others with stories just as bad or worse.

These guys do great work !. Everyone that works there are highly Professional & easy to talk with,fixed my problems on my Chevy truck fast and less $ than expected.. I will take any auto problems to them only from now on..!

I would never let John Wooten Automotive work on any of my vehicles again. I took my car in March of 2016 to get transmission work done & my SUV sounded like a transfer truck. Had someone else check out & my transmission was about to fall out because he did not have bolts on tight & it was missing bolts. I took back & he fixed again & I have had other problems like, drive shaft had to be replaced several times & he messed up my exhaust. I have paid him & my car is still not fixed & here it is March 2018. I would never refer anyone to do business with them. He has told me that my car was almost ready & the whole time it was sitting on side of garage with windows down where it now has water damage inside, two tires where flat & he had it backed up into another vehicle where it is now dented in the back with paint missing & scratches on back. This place needs to be shut down asap.

Always take my car there to get worked on, if I have problems they are always willing to helping. John is always busy,so the key thing to remember is just be patient getting your car back.

Read the critique that my wife Melody posted and I have to take exception. While its true that weve had the vehicle back several times, the main problem has been an electrical one that has been very difficult to track down and could be a source of frustration for any mechanic. At her request Ive taken the car to a different shop and its back for the second time in a week, which shows how hard electrical fixes can be. John has never charged me for anything other than the initial engine rebuild (which was $2200 not $3000) and has been up front and honest.

I have had to have my car towed from this garage bc after I bought my 2nd engine John refused to put it in so my car was towed to another garage with no engine! UPDATE: 4/4/2018 Today i took them to court both him and his wife lied to the judge so my suit was for 1900 but they should have had to pay twice that amount but the judge believed their lies and gave me a judgement of 168.00 for a 2008 nissan sentra that we had to sell because he destroyed it to the point it was only good for parts!! Once they were outside they talked alot of trash john stated that him ripping folks off is not hurting his business and that big mouth wife of his is luck i dont like jail time. :) All i can say is TRASH!!

Terrible place to take your vehicle,they put old parts on your car when they supposed to be new parts,it happened to me 2 times and another shop told me the part was old,so I recommend dont go to this shop,take it somewhere else or just YouTube it.

He has done a great job for me and my family cars in the past so i stayed loyal, but when i had to replace my transmission just a year ago, i knew he didnt do a great job and here i am a year later having the same problem: transmission, clutch problems and a different mechanic telling me im missing bolts and having to replace everything.

Over surfaced a set of heads for a Mitsubishi never even replaced the $8 valve stem seals reinstall the old ones who puts a set of aluminum heads on a belt sander John Wooten does the heads came back with 3 bent valves that he never even replaced

Had my car for a month, gave it back twice saying it was fixed, it wasnt, claimed to have done all kinds of repairs to it and didnt, ran a lot of gas out of it, last time he handed the keys to me and replied, i think its fixed. nope, in fact it was worse.

I took my car to John Wooten AUTOMOTIVE and I had transmission trouble after my car sat at his shop for weeks I would call him every day and his answer was Im working on it. MY car sat under a tree at his shop for weeks. HE took my transmission out and went to a junk yard and bought one and put it in and it broke down before I left his garageHE messed my car up worse than what IT was I took him to court and some man stood up and tried to pass for John I told THE judge that THE man was not John Wooten. I won my case against Wooten AUTOMOTIVE and before I could get anything he changed everything out of his name. Every 10 yrs I can check if ANYTHING is in his name and he has nothing in his name. I lost all that money I paid him and I am a disabled ELDERLY woman who he cheated out of a lot of money and I finally took my car to a transmission shop and the one James Wooten put in was full of water and ruined on the inside cost me $1700 dollars to fix my car were John Wooten AUTOMOTIVE tore my car completely up. Ladies DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO JOHN WOOTEN AUTOMOTIVE. SEEMS LIKE HE REALLY CHEATS ON LADIES THE MOST.
