I’m giving 5 stars to cashier TAHIRA register 3 !!!! The young lady is so sweet, fast && respectful. Something we all need while shopping. She welcomed me with open arms . I’ve been coming to this save a lot for about 10 months now every other morning . She makes me feel so good while she rings up my items . Even while waiting and bagging . She blesses everyone with a great morning and thanks you for shopping. I see her cleaning the lot . Pushing carts back into place and also handle customers all at once. This hire us a great look for your company. I see a lot of employees come and go . Management for her will be great I’m sure she’ll make this store WHATS it’s supposed to be . GREAT JOB TAHIRA . Keep up the great work 👌🏾

Really Zero Stars. I normally do not write reviews but this has gotten a little under my skin... I went here this afternoon to make a purchase, made my way to the only register that someone was standing by that looked like they was going to work. The other 2 registers were blocked off and had a closed sign with employees standing there talking and eating... So, the lady shook her head as to say shes not taken customers so I asked which other register is open.. I waited a a few minutes.. no one came to help or acknowledge I was there not even the security guard as he stood there just looking. So I left my items on the belt.. It was bad enough to be ignored but there was brown sausage meat ( that supposed to be pink if fresh) on the shelf to be sold... THIS STORE IS COMPLETELY OUT OF ORDER! PLEASE CLOSE NOW!

I experienced a Save-A-Lot was great it says on my receipt my cashiers name is SWT. Its unfortunate I did not ask her for her name but she was very polite greeted and thanked me.my son was with me hes only five years old he said hes going to pay for the entire amount of groceries. so he gave her a quarter and she went along with it and asked him if he needed some change back. which I thought was so cute not only did she make my day I just want everybody to know. time 14:47 8/29/21. we need more people like her

I’ve been here before. The manager Suzeth Thomas is rude, and doesn’t respect her employees. She lets a security guard who’s name is Charles be rude and difficult to customers and is always following and spying on people and his excuse is “it’s my job”. NO. Its not your job to make your customers uncomfortable. The employees don’t get payed enough to deal with the toxic management. This place has good prices, but the manager and security guard needs to be replaced. I apologize for the employees who deal with this on a daily basis. No wonder many are quitting 👎🏽

Have been going here for years. Tremendous local grocery store that really cares about their customers. The recent extension has made it even better.

This place is clean and not crowded! Their prices are good! They arent as big as Shoprite, but they have an excellant variety. Staff are courteous!!

Go there for the low prices, but customers services SUCK

Just left this location and although I told the young female cashier I only wanted one bag she insisted she give me two to make up for the quarter. I said no I want my change and still tried to short me. I didn’t make a big deal as I said “I’m not even going to make it a big deal” to her not giving me all of my change. Rude lil….

The store could be better I understand its a discount store but to show like you care a little bit would be seen throughout your visit to the store. Its a ghost town never anyone to help while shopping

Produce quality poor. Multiple,, MULTIPLE containers of strawberries and blueberries had mold. The avocados were surrounded by insects.

Cheaper than Walmart for sure.

Fully stocked good prices but only one cashier

Hillside Nj Save a lot needs improvement! The female manager is always putting labor work on the staff and they barely have people working there! Also this one security guard with glasses is so rude to elderly people and to the customers as well. The security guard is always trying to push up on one of the female co-workers and you can honestly tell that she feels so uncomfortable! This store needs a new manager and a new security guard!

The prices werent bad, but there wasnt a large selection of product there either.

The sales were great. The cost for groceries in NJ has drastically sky rocketed in prices. The vegetables and fruits are very well priced and they have brand items as well for discounted prices. It truly cut my grocery cost in half shopping here. Very happy with this store.

Clean, organized, fresh produce, customer service needs work. They are not friendly and do not greet you or say hello. I hate going to a store if I feel unwelcome or like I am annoying you with my business. The cleanliness makes up for lack of customer service.

No meats to choose from

Good place to shop around with parking.Almost always stocked with goods. Food options are typical but fit the needs of anyone for a quick run. Never had issue with the staff or cleanliness. Also never overcrowded or endless lines.Just dont expect a large selection of gourmet foods or too diverse a selection of food goods. For a local market though it will fit almost everyones needs in the community. Give it a try folks if you are driving by and need a small pit stop for some quick goods!

Good store in the works. Dont sleep on THE FRESH PIZZA. Pop it in the oven & 12 mins. Great HOT large pizza @ home for the Kiddos and NO WAY can you beat the cost.... A MUST TRY.

Its a good store. Its a smaller version of Aldis. The prices on some things are typical but other things are great!

Prices here are better than any supermarket chain. I like reading the labels and seeing that most of the vegetables are grown in the US, supporting domestic/ American farms. I also like that they dont offer plastic bags with every purchase, this saves on a lot of wasted plastic that would just wind up in our landfills. Bags are available to purchase if needed but if not you can simply reuse bags you already have at home. Im sure this helps to keep the costs down as well. My only reason for not giving 5 stars would be the customer service up at the registers. Twice now the cashiers have just dropped or tossed my groceries into the cart after scanning, theyve damaged some of the products that way. I usually arrange the groceries myself once theyve scanned and tossed the items in so the heavy items arent just landing on the soft perishables (eggs, bread, bananas). Wish they cared a little more about the products they were ringing up.

This is my favorite Save A Lot location. The store is always clean and always have what Im looking for, for a great price. The staff is always and I mean always professional and friendly. I dont mind shopping here at all.

Very nice. Clean. Lots of foods and merchandise at reasonable prices. Bring your own bag or pay for a bag. You can use a box to put your stuff in too.

Save a lot is good for a quick fix and frozen entrees. Just be sure to have case quarter for a shopping cart and bring your own bags.

This place is a convenience store. Most of the time the produce are stale and rotting...

Fresh groceries can be a bit pricey like bananas for 49 cents each. But they have alot of common groceries. They have alot of goya and Latin items. I wish they carried more Grace and Caribbean names also

This is a wonderful addition to the area. In advance this store is similar to the Aldi/Lidl style of grocery shopping. Pricing is kept down by taking away frills and eliminating losses where possible. Carts are 25 cents each, which is returned to you at the end of your shopping trip. This stops customers from leaving carts all over the parking lot and keeps the store from raising prices later (2-6 months) to buy new carts. Bags are additional money to save on overhead. Best advice on bags if you dont already own a reusable bag, buy one from Save a lot or another store, use it and then place the bag back in your car. This way you always have a bag on hand and you are helping the environment. Produce is good, they stock most of the basics and a few extras and items keep very well. Like any non high end store the meats look okay but you sort through the mediocre to get to the good. Many of the brands are a store brand so if you are a brand shopper make sure to look carefully. All in all I give this store an 7 out of 10. I knocked it from an 8 in my book because I find there is a continuity problem on the buying side in regards to branded items that I enjoy and saw during opening and have not seen since. However this is great for quick shopping trips and people on a budget. Remember if its a large shopping trip bring a quarter and a bag.

Had a horrible humiliating experience today at this store. Store security followed me everywhere I went. Polite district manager apologized but said nothing to the security guard who gave me a dumbs up sign when I suggested that I wouldnt be coming back. My question; why open a store in a minority community if you dont want their patronage? We just want to shop in peace like everyone else. In the age of video surveillance, I just cant understand what purpose it serves to follow and humiliate anyone.

This save a lot should get five stars it is always very clean everyone is always polite and theres always a great sale.

This place opened up in the winter. So I thought maybe they would get more stock. Wrong very empty. They only sell Tyson chicken and that brand is always under recall.
