We are part time home owners on the island and we were down here visiting for a few weeks. Our Ford Explorer suddenly started to have noticeable problems. We called the auto shop and the woman who answered the phone was very helpful. We were able to get our car into the shop to be looked at within an hour of the problems occurring. They quickly diagnosed the problem and began working on the car. We had our car back and completely fixed in less than 24 hours. They were fast, efficient, and so helpful. We would recommend them for any service needed on a vehicle. We are planning to be living here full time in a few years and will continue to use them for an automobile needs. Check engine light was on and my transmission fluid appeared low. Took it in just to see if I could have it looked at, thinking I’d have to leave it because they were busy, but someone came to immediate asking what they could do. He did a diagnosis with the meter, reset the light, said it was an emissions problem but safe to drive to back home. He checked transmission fluid and found NONE. Refilled and was on my way. I would highly recommend!

Let me start by saying Im a 35 year certified ASE Master Technician and L1. Im usually doing the fixing and billing. While on vacation in Hilton Head my rear wheel bearing went bad and not the easiest one to do. I was able to leave it with them for two days and they got it done at a very fair and honest price. Extremely nice people and locally owned shop which is important to me. Keep up the good work. Thank you again

On vacation in HI with a rental car. The first night the tire pressure light went on. Went to Island Tire the next morning, they checked the tire pressure and put the correct pressure in all 4 tires. All for free.. I highly recommend this establishment.

This place was phenomenal. We arrived in Hilton Head and our brakes were shot. I reached out and they responded immediately. Our car was finished in 3 hours. Fastest service Ive ever received. I appreciate it so much because otherwise our vacation wouldve been ruined. My husband said the front desk guy was fantastic and personable. We are so grateful.

Amazing! I was on vacation in HH and got a sheet metal screw in my tire. Despite it being Monday morning and they were short handed and slammed the got me fixed up for only 33$! Thats right only $33 to patch my tire! Thank you guys!

Honest service!!!Took my car in while on vacation. I thought a screw had punctured my tire, but they found the screw was not long enough to puncture. They could have easily charged me to “plug” the tire and I would have been happy to pay and be back on the road. But they were honest and let me know the tire was fine, no charge.

Got a nail in my tire and was losing air while here on vacation. Called Island tire and they got me right in. I was able to drop off my tire on a Monday, they had it patched in a few hours and put it back on for me for cheap! Very kind and helpful!

I have visited Hilton Head twice in the past 12 months and unfortunately had tire issues both times. I can express in words how great and professional the customer service has been on both visits. I guess its been a while since I had a flat tire but to take a screw out cost almost $32.54 and only $30.00 was Labor. Friendly staff though. Mind you it needed done before traveling back home over 400 miles.

Just visited this location again because TPMS light was on. I was sure it was a bad sensor or tire problem, but they confirmed my tires were just a little low and reset the system. In and out in half an hour. No charge! Their slogan is right on: good products, good service, good people!

I had an 8 hour trip to come to Hilton Head Island and unfortunately after about 5 hours of driving, I had battery issues. Unfortunately it was late and AAA came to the rescue, testing my alternator. They said the ripple was inconsistent and that i would still make it to my destination, but the alternator appeared to be starting to go bad.I called these guys for a quote and they told me it was around $800 for parts and labor for a new one, which is a lot for me!However, when they checked it out, I got a call saying they couldnt find an issue. I asked them to do connection checks and further tests and they did. My car sat here for two days. All tests came back with no issues in the car. They quoted me $55 for testing on the car and nothing for a day of storage because of our long trip.When we got there, since they didnt find the issue, they didnt charge me anything! They even filled my windshield wiper fluid for me for absolutely nothing.I love this! These guys were honest, had a decent labor rate, and didnt charge me for work that was unnecessary.If ever i come back to this area, this is the only place Im going with any future car issues!

The gentlemen at Island Tire are absolutely incredible. They have taken care of my auto repair and maintenance needs since I moved to HHI 6 years ago. I stopped in this morning and in less than 30 minutes Joe and Daryll got my tire pressure adjusted, headlight bulb swapped and filled my coolant. for my radiator. Since I didnt have much time for work, I certainly did not expect to get everything done, but yet again these fine fellows exceeded my expectations and all for a reasonable price! Got a low tire pressure light while visiting the island. Pulled up to put air in the tire and they showed me the nail. I was offered at first to have them put my spare on and come back later, but he was able to get me right in and take care of it immediately. Super impressed with them!

Can’t say enough about this place! Discovered screeching noise in my BMW X5 wheel 1 day before departure for home and a 930 mile drive to upstate NY. Dropped vehicle off at 945am and was fixed by 1:15pm. Ended up being very minor problem (dust shield rubbing on rotor).Just a visitor on HHI but I highly recommend Island Tire!!

On the way to HHI for vacation, our Pathfinder AC stopped working. Island Tire was able to check, diagnose and make recommendation for repair within an hour of dropping off the vehicle. Appreciate the responsiveness and communications throughout the process.

We are so thankful for Island Tire! Our car died the night before leaving to go home in time for Thanksgiving. They checked our car first thing in the morning and had it fixed by noon.

We never actually spent money here, but they were very helpful to us. Our vans transmission was slipping bad and they checked it out for us. They couldnt help us so they did not charge us for the diagnostic. They also let us leave our key there for the tow service to the nearest dealership. All the while they were very friendly in addition to apologizing for not being able to help us.

Finally figured out what you Geniuses did to my car! 4 mechanic shops later all kinds of money. You people broke the map sensor housing. And glued it back on like nothing happened. $40 plastic pipe. Cost me a new Turbo all because you didnt want to fess up to breaking a $40 plastic tube. Fixing water leak .... This place is a tourist trap and the owner is a cheapskate.. its so hard to figure out something like that super glued, even the best mechanic in the world cant figure that out.! I was visiting from MD with my family and discovered my tire was wobbly. Heard a sound that was quite troubling and had no clue what to do. A friend in the area suggested Island Tire and said they were the best and boy was that the truth. The first of all received me very warmly and asked what my issue was. I explained and within 10 mins they had quickly diagnosed the issue and had me on the road. They were so friendly and knowledgeable that it made the experience so pleasurable that I was speechless. I was on the island for vacation when I got a low tire pressure light on my 2019 Civic Touring. After researching reviews for tire shops I decided on Island Tire because they had to best review rating. Now I know why! I stopped by to find out what the cause was. They told me that I had a nail in the sidewall of my tire and it could not be repaired; it needed to be replaced. It turns out that it is a new tire for Honda and none of their wholesale outlets had a replacement. When they called the local Honda dealer they were told that they had one in stock and told them that I was on the way. The owner and manager went way beyond to make sure that I was taken care of even if it meant sending me to another supplier.

We were traveling from out of town and needed automotive help. Called Island Tire and they got us in same day and was able to diagnose and fix the problem within 24 hours. Very grateful for their services.

Had a tire leak and dropped by around noon to get it fixed. John at the front desk has good customer service skills even though they were busy. John took time with each of the customers and even checked the air in the tires of a lady stopped at the business. My tire was fixed within 30 minutes.They would get 5 stars but thought they were a little high in charging over $30 for the repair. They do oil changes and other vehicle repairs at the location.

I had a dead battery stranded at Bi Lo a mile away. They let me borrow the jump box, then checked out the battery at no charge. And they couldnt have been nicer! Kudos to Island Tire!

After experiencing an unfortunate tire failure, Island Tire was recommended by a member of the fire company who stopped to check on me while I was changing my tire on the side of the exit ramp. I asked during our brief meeting as to any thoughts where to find tires while on vacation. One gentleman spoke up and said, “I take my car to Island Tire at the traffic circle before Sea Pines.” Who am I to ignore a professional firefighter offering advice so the next morning I contact Island Tire. What an outstanding recommendation!I called Island Tire first thing Wednesday morning and explained the situation. Mike answered the call, listened to my story, and set out to find a solution. My 2017 Honda Pilot had its OEM tires, Continental CrossContact LTX20, with 35k miles, and I knew the right call was to install four new ones. I do like the Continental’s and ordered four more of the latest version, the LTX25. The tires were in a warehouse 50 miles away and would arrive the next day. I made arrangements to bring the car back Thursday morning. John works the front area and upon my arrival, treated me with excellent customer service. John explained the work they will do and the associated charges. I am very familiar with car maintenance and agreed with everything, especially the 4 wheel alignment (yes folks get the alignment with a tire installation). John’s easy-going manner with discussing the services was appreciated and the pricing was in line with my expectations. Everything concluded with four new tires installed, balanced, TPMS devices mounted, and a freshly aligned vehicle. John, Mike, and the rest of the Island Tire crew were excellent all along the process, and I enthusiastically give them two thumbs up.I was concerned when the tire failure occurred because I was on vacation and far away from my trusted tire shop back home. Island Tire put me at ease and helped me in a difficult situation. Mike and John gave me the confidence the job would be done right and not worry. I am now a believer, and if and when my family find ourselves calling HHI home, I know who my automotive repair shop will be….Island Tire.

I came to Hilton Head to visit my son and wife. Just as I was arriving, the clutch on my Jeep Wrangler had gone out. I had managed to get it to the Salt Dog Cafe. I explained my situation to them, and the first place they mentioned and recommended was Island Tire.Even though my Jeep Wrangler is 17 years old, I still consider it my baby. I talked with the folks at Island Tire and wanted to be sure they had someone familiar with working on Jeeps. They let me know they had a mechanic with many years of Jeep experience.Being away from home, and my home mechanic, and trusting a mechanic I didnt know quickly became a non-issue. The team at Island Tire kept me informed at all times. They offered me options and didnt try to oversell me on anything. During the process, I had to get back home, and my wife remained to pick up the Jeep. She told me that the staff was very friendly and courteous.At the end of the day, we couldnt have been more satisfied with the service provided by Island Tire. The new clutch is is working great. The experience with the team was fantastic. And, the final price was less than I was originally quoted!

I needed brakes replaced and some other smaller things done. These guys are extremely customer service oriented, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. They have a great understanding of their market and meet it with quality work and great personal relation skills. Had a tire with low air on our vacation. The attendant at the island tire gas station was amazing! He checked the pressure on all 4 tires and filled them for us free of charge. Got us back on the road quickly with two babies in the car!! So grateful! Fantastic service!

My family and I vacation every year in Hilton Head and love every bit of it. This year we had the misfortune of picking up 2 screws in 2 different tires. Where we were staying at, this place was the closest, and because we watched the monitor in the car drop rapidly as we drove, we drove straight there Monday morning. We showed up and they were clearly very busy with cars all around, nonetheless we needed our tires to get fixed, so we went in to talk to an advisor at the front desk. There is no point in naming names but our first impression of this place was a very rude Yeah? that came from the guy addressed to myself and my father in law. We explained our situation and he stated We are looking at about 1.5-2 hours to get that done. We told him no problem, we will just go get some breakfast and come back in a couple of hours. Some my father in law and myself went and got a bite to eat at Starbucks across the street, walked around at a few shops and then came back at just past the 2 hour mark thinking that would be plenty of time. As we were walking through the lot we realized the car was sitting in the same spot we left it and the screws were still there! I went in there a little frustrated and told the same guy who quoted me 1.5-2 hours that it has been over 2 hours and our car hasnt even been touched. He said oh you are going in next, should be about 30 minutes max. Listen I know Mondays are busy, trust me I know, but my first complaint is give a realistic time frame because we sat there for another hour and 15 minutes until I got a text message that the car was done. No friendly shout from the counter 5 feet away, a text. Then when we walked up to the counter, he just looked at me and said $65. Didnt say anything about the repair, how it went, what exactly they did or anything at all. On top of that when we dropped off our keys we were never given anything to sign, nor given a quote for the cost. My main concern wasnt for the service itself, the tires hold air and we are having no issues, it is with pretty much everything else. Tell your guy to be a little bit more friendly, and not act like a paying customer is a nuisance, quote someone up front the costs involved, and most importantly, set up realistic time frames. Listen I wouldnt have been upset if you told me 4 hours until we are done, we would have found a way to get home. But for us to spend over 3 hours there for a tire repairs after we were quoted 1.5-2 hours is a bit ridiculous. The dealership back home that I take my car to regularly always gives me a time frame and cost and ends up with my full trust and support. In todays time it would be a good idea to keep in mind Under promise and over deliver, thats how you truly win over customers and keep them coming back. Not sure if I will be coming back, over all not a bad repair, terrible customer service though.

We needed an oil change before heading home to Tennessee. The guy who actually changed the oil was very friendly and accommodating. However, Josh at the front desk was extremely rude. He had a very condescending attitude and acted like it was such a pain for us to be there. Normally I would just let it slide. But as I waited on the oil change I continued to listen to him speak to customers and continue to be rude. When the oil change was done and the guy who worked on our car came in and dropped off the paperwork, Josh sat on his phone for about 5 minutes before acknowledging us and letting us pay. This was definitely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.Update: From the time I left this review, the owner has chosen to respond with a backhanded remark. Which continues to show this companys low class attitude. The owner said that I was on my phone from the time I came in to the time I left. Last time I checked, browsing on my cell phone has never impaired my hearing. It also does not impair my vision. But at this point I am willing to let these people say whatever they want if it helps them feel better about themselves.

I was driving my truck that I normally don’t drive for work and which I was working in the area. I called Island tire and they was able to change the tires and wheels on my truck that other places were not able to because of the size wheel. Tires were changed on 3 of 6 wheels and swapped out all 6 wheels and I informed the guy at the counter that I wanted all wheels balanced. Also the price was outrageous but I was in a position that I had no choice. They charged me $65 per tire to change the tire on 3 wheels and then plus $40 extra dollars in total of $235.00.I pick up my truck and get back on the interstate to head home and the tire place is about 30-40 mins away from the interstate. I get up to about 60-65 and the truck is shivering like crazy and below 60 the truck done better. I get home late that night and I take my truck to the local tire shop that I have been doing business with for many years and have always been straightforward guys. They guy tells me that the tires were installed on the wheels in the wrong rotation and the wheels were not balanced. I strongly feel that Island tire took advantage of me because I was not from the area.I will never done business with Island tire again and strongly recommend no one else to.

Ive gone here for over a year and have always been highly impressed with Mike and the rest of his team. Mike is focused on both the business and the customer, which is a win/win situation for all parties concerned in my book. I have never had anything but superior service here on all fronts. Prices are reasonable and in line with National averages. I want to also give an additional thanks to Brad and Joe. Good people.

I went in for an oil change today and Josh at the front desk was so nice and friendly. He made sure I knew how long the wait was. When my car was done Josh called me up to the counter and let me know my total and thanked me and told me to have a great day. I will be taking my car back when it’s time for an oil change again and I would recommend Josh and Island Tire to anyone.

They are rude, disrespectful, incompetent and dishonest . It was the worst experience i ever had with auto repair and believe it or not, it was only putting air in an RV tire. RV ers be warned!

We were in Hilton Head for the day while on vacation in Savannah, when I got a flat tire that couldnt be repaired. When we pulled up, they looked super busy, but the man who helped us (Im so sorry I cannot remember his name) was so kind to make time for us. He came and took a look at the car - let us know that he unfortunately would not be able to do it that day because he would need to order the tire. We decided to wait until we were back in the Savannah area to take care of it, but I cannot stress enough how nice he was. We were a group of three 20-something year olds who admittedly dont know much about cars and tires, yet he was not even the least bit patronizing when explaining anything to us. Really honest and kind. Just wanted to say thank you!!

We absolutely love coming here, Josh always takes great care of us and goes above and beyond for us and the people we send to him! I also trust him greatly with anything car related, I never feel like I am being taken advantage of. He explains everything in great detail and gives us great deals. I have referred multiple family and friends to this shop, just because of him. I don’t know what Halle was talking about in regards to him, unfortunately some times people forget that employees do have a life outside of work and do have to use their cell phones at times. She should have brought it up in store instead of bashing him online.

Great group of guys at the south end location. I was having an issue with my marker light bulb on my Mercedes. Apparently it needed a special tool to change it. The gentlemen so graciously came outside to check the bulb, took my car back, and in a matter of minutes, my bulb was working great. Because I brought the bulb I purchased, he did it for at no charge... I really appreciate a company who looks out for their clients.

I picked up a nail in my tire while vacationing in the area and Brad took great care in getting my car in quickly for the repair. Thier repair costs are very reasonable. I had Two New left tires and they were the closest tow so I brought my car there took a week to get (only due to holidays) worst time right. $1,400 later I needed two new tires and rims but anyways after I got my car just my luck there was a nail in the right tire. But instead of charging me like any other company would the gentleman took care of it for free witch was honestly a blessing for someone on a tight budget and already in the red for this kind gesture I will always recommend this place and will be back.Its pays off to do something good for other people every once in while. If only other companies understood the importance of that.Dont hesitate to come here quick friendly and always a pleasure to do business with them.

On the way to the Island from middle of the country this past June, noticed some vibration at 80mph in wifes car and pulling right more than it should. I had rotated tires recently, so I suspected alignment. I took it in as I didnt want to drive back like that. It would have been very easy for the Island tire to charge me full balance, rotate and 4 wheel alignment. They checked one wheel, when it was in balance they just did the 4 wheel alignment. They gave me the before and after data as I requested, right side was out of alignment. Very reasonable price and I was pleased. I do a lot of work on my own cars, Id go back here any time Im on the Island.

My Bronco has been repaired here numerous times and have always been quick, courteous and priced right! We also take our family vehicles in for regular oil changes here as well. I would have no issues referring Island Tire to my friends and family, and I do! By far the best experience on the island as it comes to Auto repair and maintenance! Im very happy they have two locations! I have needed them on the north and south end! I will be going to Island Auto for many years to come!!

Great Service. I appreciated the time that was spent with me on my repair, the invoice, and even the mechanics behind my vehicle. Admittedly, I knew very little about the repair and the mechanics and I was feeling very uncomfortable and frustrated with my repair at first. I think the service writer did a great job with explaining the overall repair but also it was really nice for the owner to take the time to explain to me the repair as well. Also, I enjoyed the pictures of early Sea Pines in the waiting area. Its nice to be reminded of the early history of our island.

This is a great auto repair business. We have been coming down from NJ for many years. This trip our conversion van started to bounce around at high speeds. By the time we arrived at HHI it was serious. Found these guys on line and the reviews convinced me to go there. They looked at my van immediately, told me to come back in a few hours. It was simply bad tires. I came back early, they replaced them and I was back on vacation. I was worried it would be a big repair. The price was fair and the service fast. Had a slow leak in my tire and this place was thankfully just down the road. The staff was efficient and friendly and they fixed the issue quickly and for a fair price. Thanks for making this a non-stressful event during our vacation!

Our chevy express van sputtered into town barely! The next morning, made over to Island tire. They ran all kinds of diagnostic tests combined with a couple test drives. I was worried it was going to be a big expensive ordeal. Turns out it was kind of a fluke, maybe a clogged fuel injector, NO repairs or parts were needed. Island Tire was very honest!! only charged me a $50 diagnostic fee. Van is running great and we made it back to Fort Wayne, IN with no problems... Customer service was awesome too! very engaged and concerned.

Top notch auto repair. Needed an emergency repair on our minivans air conditioning, they had us in and out in under 40 minutes (maybe not the norm, but we appreciated it!). They even had the necessary part in stock. Friendly, honest and quick; cant be beat!

When arriving in HHI for vacation after a taxing 14 hour drive from Pennsylvania, we were experiencing a noise and complications with the front end of our truck. The hotel we stayed at recommended Island Tire and Auto (South location). We arrived at 5:00pm and Brad helped us even though they were closing. He went above and beyond what would be expected from customer service to help us out. I would recommend using the services here to anyone who appreciates true customer service and concern for others well being in these days when it seems to be lacking.

What can I say Berry, the owner, is great. I came to him from Sun City. I needed tires. The prices next to Sun City were real high. AS I got closer to Hilton Head they kept coming down. I met Berry and His was what I thought the tires should be. 25% less than the first place Since then I have used him for all my auto repair needs. I feel real comfortable using him!

While on vacation in HHI, I dislodged something under my minivan after pulling too far into a parking space. Brad quickly fixed the issue and sent me on my way! He wouldnt even accept payment! The customer service is outstanding! Highly recommend!
