Food brilliant very nice pubbing good cooked food comfortable surroundings warm clean very impressed with staff and professional service they gave
Lovely small victoriana pub on Charing Cross Rd next to Leicester Square tube. Good beers normally but limited due to supply. Good pub grub with Gammon, large selection of pies and great toad in the hole. Nice to watch the world go by. Upstairs dining room as well. Very helpful staff. Good afternoon.
Great ales, convivial atmosphere and CAMRA MEMBERS discount.
Visiting from US, we stumbled on The Porcupine while walking about. Lovely, dark pub with delicious meat pies. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and kindness from the lady who helped us.
Im in the area every few weeks to work and this pub continues to be one of my favorites.Food is good, staff are very friendly and its in a great location, right next to underground station.Cant get better than that really
Fantastic pub just off Leicester square. Great food, had lovely potato and leek soup followed by haddock n chips. Really good value, will definitely return
Unimpressive as you walk in, decor had a 1940s theme although that was probably the last time it was actually decorated, musty smell, the member of staff we spoke to was unhelpful and unfriendly, she really wasnt interested in us. Sat down amongst drinkers instead of a designated eating area, at which point we left. Unfortunately cant comment on the food as we were so put off we decided to go around the corner to the Angus steakhouse, which I would recommend . Dont be fooled by the website, its nothing like it in real life
Loved it. Pop in and out like good old days!!! Very friendly staff! Was very lively with,, little dance floor😊.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Staff are friendly and helpful. And its clean which is always a plus in my eyes will definitely be going back
Been nipping in here for years great pub,bit of a LUFC pub, always make it before the train home.
Solid boozer in the centre. Not the widest selection but all solid options. Can get busy though, which makes it difficult as its not very big.
Great pub and friendly staff. Good selection of beers and ales. Thanks to the staff for refilling our water bottles too.
Strategic corner location. Great for people watching. Toilets small and nasty but otherwise great as long as you dont need to go for a dump.
A tasty pint of Guinness and surprising quiet given the location. Also dog friendly which pleased my young daughter.
Good selection of beer and drinks. This is part of the Nicholsons chain of restaurants. Food was average, not bad but not excellent either. We ate in the dining room upstairs and they had only one employee doing everything. While he was doing a good job, there were too many customers for him to provide outstanding service.
Great place to visits. Interesting feature on the building. Famous for actors coming in from the theatre
Nice friendly bar staff good beer London prices
Great pub with good atmosphere, serve food and drinks although we hadnt ate here so cant comment on food. The bar staff were friendly as were the other drinkers in the bar.
Nice staff, central and beer less than a fiver a pint
I have been yesterday there, there was a guy and 2 girls. He offered me good table and great service. Definitely I will come back.
It a very touristy pub, but judging by its location what can you expect, have used it for a quick drink after the theatre..serves its purpose
Its a busy pub, in Central London. We ordered food, which was quite slow.I ordered Macaroni cheese, for £13 you get a very small portion. It was nothing special either. The place was okay, nothing to rave about.
Great place to have a drink and watch the westend in full flow.
Great location, nice beer but youll be paying Central London prices....
A really good atmosphere, had a really good time in this pub. The barman with the green hair was simply awesome.
Old english style pub, close to Trafalgar square in the very middle of the center of London. Very populare, so better bring some time when you wish to eat. A very nice and friendly lady at the bar, pointed us in the right direction regarding Coventry garden, Soho etc. My favorite beer...Camden Mild.
Lively friendly atmosphere great staff definitely worth a night out
Friendly, cozy and good selection. Expensive but then its London
Great service, friendly staff!Amazing halloumi fries, thanks to the chefs!I totally recommended it!!
Wonderful to experience the traditional English pub in the centre of London.
Great food and lovely staff. Will definitely come here again
Food was perfect and not a long wait at all very friendly staff 9oz steak is a recommended dish with halloumi Frys 🤤🤤
Rude staff. As one of the examples: I asked for a table next to the socket, so I could charge my phone, but the red-hair waitress said that I have to order something first. But of course I would! I saw such a huge difference between her serving me and the man who came few mins after me. I also waited for a terminal for around 10mins. I don’t know why she was so rude with me, but I’m definitely not going to come back or advise this place to anyone else.
Best pies in London great beer very friendly service
Nice pub, good for people watching
Decent pub on good location. Coping well with the Covid constraints. Friendly staff.
Nice atmosphere in there for Halloween
Nice beers, nice vinyl
Went here on Saturday as a walk in, waited to be seen by the waiter asked if there were any spots free he said Yh there’s a table outside and that we need to check in we were very grateful to be offered a placed, after checking in when I went to the table another woman was sitting there, her friend had gone in to check in, neither of them waited to be seen or asked if there were any spots available they just sat there and checked in after, when I asked the waiter I thought this was our table we were here first, he shrugged his shoulders and said nothing I can do, I was so upset, what he should’ve done is told the pair sorry guys these guys were here first, they weren’t booked customers, we actually went in and asked whilst this couple just strolled along and just sat there and checked in afterwards, we would’ve probably spent all day there buying drinks sooooo..., he did offer a very small side table whilst my friend went to the toilet afterwards when it became free but I was just already so upset about the way I was treated to be able to stay there l, not one to leave negative google reviews but think this may help the waiter next time about the way he deals with treating customers fairly and what to say if the same situation was to occur again...
Great pub right by the tube!
I didnt go there
Seemed to be, you only got served if you knew the bar staff. We were there ages and not even an acknowledgement. Real shame as I used to go there a lot years ago
Very Friendly and a Good Service
Proper old knees up pub
Nice pub, good atmosphere and service.
Lively to say the least...
Back street pub in Leicester sq. Itll do alright
You will find The Porcupine in Leicester Square London within a short stroll of Leicester Square Tube, Shaftesbury Avenue and Long Acre - however you wont find another like it.Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.A UNIQUE CITY CENTRE PUB WITH A RICH HISTORYThe Porcupine has proudly stood its ground since 1725. In years gone by we were a haunt of the freemasons and in 1807 became the meeting place for another group; the Lodge of Confidence. In 1822 a gang of thieves came here for a celebratory drink, after burgling at the house of Lord Ashbrook. They were nabbed after asking the landlord to put their equipment behind the bar for safe keeping!
We just had drinks and it has a decent selection of beer and drinks! Staff are very friendly.Due to COVID-19 table service is required and it seems to be challenging for business, so be open minded and patient.
One of the places you need to go
Helpful very polite staff
Excellent pub with friendly staff.
Nice little pub 😊
Great pub and the staff are brilliant
Good service and atmosphere
I like it. Very populare, so better bring some time when you wish to eat. A very nice and friendly lady at the bar, pointed us in the right direction regarding Coventry garden, Soho etc. My favorite beer...thanks
Worth a visit 👌
Small street level bar. Prime location. dining upstairs area was closed. Food in the bar area was nice.
No real ales, a bit poor
Lovely pub that was bustling, enough chairs n tables just to accommodate.. has what looks like an amazing dining area situated upstairs and an amazing array of pies to choose from. Nice pint and has many gins.. no cocktails tho. Lovely pub n deffo worth a visit
Good pub
Only a half hour brief visit, but I was very impressed with it. Right in the heart of Leicester Square, 100 steps across the road from the tube station exit, is this excellent proper English pub. It served a choice of real ales. It had pub decor and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The place was busy without being packed, and I did not notice any queuing at the bar when I was there early evening. Certainly would return here if I was in the area.
I love this place... Staff great.. Especially the Manager.. Top Bloke.... Nice food and Music always on... One of my favourite pubs in London 😁
A fine central London pub with good beer and plenty of wine and other beverages to enjoy. Busy with all sorts, most enjoyable. A stones throw from Chinatown, Leicester square and Covent garden. Do pop in for a pint and talk to someone new!
Not so much a review more of a query and I’ll delete this once it’s been answered. Can i get to Diagon Alley through your pub?
Great location, friendly staff, amazing food. I ordered the Smoked Scottish Salmon as an appetizer; it was really good . I could have had that as an appetizer and the main course. For the main course, I had the three mini meat pies. The pies were good, very tasty. Our waiter recommended the Belgian Chocolate Brownie. It was so good! The chocolate was warm and gooey. I will be recommending this restaurants to my friends who will be traveling to London this summer.
So this place has become iconic in my circle of friends and colleagues. Everyone I know who visits London gets a photo with a pint and sends it to me. The food is great, as is the staff. Gets busy during the after work hours, but who can blame them all...what a great place to gather and share a laugh over a pint or three. Well be back soon.
I have been in this pub twice now first time by just walking past and I could hear the fantastic music. Went in and had the most amazing time. Such friendly and experience staff. Will definitely go back and recommend
Popped in for a cheeky G&T at lunch. Nice selection. They serve food but I didnt sample although looked good. Lovely old suitcase full of games to play. Friendly staff.
Very pleasant and good beers on offer.
Nice
Absolutely love this place whenever I am in London I always pop in for a drink and food staff are amazing. Every staff member I have encountered in here have gone above and beyond customer service. Thank you guys for always be up for a laugh and so awesome
Just happened to walk in and there were happy people singing along and a smiling staff bringing us beers.
Good beer, good food, good service
Absolutely great! First time yesterday, discovered by chance the best pub in London.. 8pm and already a party, everyones dancing and having an amazing time. Eclectic crowd. Thanks to the staff, you guys are too good! Meant to stop by a random pub for a quick pint, ended up staying hours till it closed, had dinner upstairs which I recommend too. Ill be back very soon. Cheers
Great little pub with a long history. Good choice of beers but a lot of the food on the menu turned out to be unavailable at that time. Still, what they had was excellent. Would definetly recommend if youre in the area!
The service was excellent. Every course of the food was presented well and was really satisfying. The best pub meal I have had for ages. Will go again definitely.
Classic London pub. I was here before Christmas and the place was decorated to the max and everyone was nice and drunk singing along to classic bangers. Great times.
Friendly dog friendly pub, good service. We just went for drinks but was very welcoming and seemed reasonably priced
Have been a few times, great stop off when in the Leicester Square area, close to to cinemas, theatres. Always try and allow time for a drink in this Victorian pub. Good selection of ales and other drinks. Have never tried the food in but the menu looks interesting .
