A cozy downtown coffee shop with delicious drink and some food options. When I went, there was no indoor seating available, but it does look like they have space for some. I was able to enjoy my coffee just outside under a tent during the rain

Little coffee shop thats kindve hidden in the alleyway. Staff is courteous in my order. Pricing is great ($5 altogether) and tasted great. The old fashioned donut was my favorite. The espresso had a nice kick to it. Inside their is not a lot of room but outdoor seating is available.

Every cup of coffee here is made skillfully with love. mayan (hot) & chocolate croissants are a favorite. Staff is friendly & full of personality. Many loyal regulars come in and out and feels like a community. Im in my 20s and this soon became my favorite spot in Hinsdale out of college!

Their espresso blend is over roasted. I know they use good quality beans, but they could do better during the roasting process.

I can’t drink plain Americano at all before, because most americanos are so bitter for me. but Cafe La Fortuna’s black and Americanos I can drink! Their coffee is so good and smooth and not bitter! I bought some coffee for my family ☺️

Delicious espresso, kind and courteous staff, and prime location! The space is small with no seating but situated perfectly to walk through downtown Hinsdale. Ill definitely be back.

Would have rated it a 5 since they have a lot of allergy free options but they do not ask customers to wear masks. Not going back.

This is the best place to get coffee. I will travel a long distance for their Mayan Coffee (for me) and Mexican Hot Chocolate (for my wife). Always a pleasant experience when I go.

Wasn’t originally going to go here, but saw the reviews and figured, “hmm must be pretty good”. so i walked in and was immediately greeted with a very nice barista. we expressed it was our first time and we was willing to help us decide. i ordered a cold brew and a latte, both of which were of high quality. that, on top of the service makes me certain i’ll be back again.

I love this place of amazing, creative and tasty coffee and tea drinks. They have delicious food and a kind staff. A true gathering place to see old friends and make new ones.

Love this coffee shop! We placed a big order of drinks and they did it with no problem. The manager made the process so easy for us from ordering to when we picked up, she also put all the names on the cups which made everything so much easier! Rich was also very nice with answering all the questions I had! Will definitely be ordering from here again.

I grew up in Hinsdale, Ive lived all over the US and to this day this is one of the best coffee shops Ive ever been to. Great coffee and prices are fantastic given what youre getting - great coffee, roasted in-house, made well, and with friendly service.

Rich has amazing hospitality and he would keep me coming in everyday. Great place for good coffee and plenty of sweets to satisfy your sugar cravings. I will make it a point to stop in when Im in Hinsdale.

This place truly stands out from all coffeeshops.They have very high-end coffee and high-tech, machinery they use. Prices should not matter if you are looking for a local, small business, specialty place.

I have never understood the appeal of biscotti, particularly when there are so many other more appealing baked goods nearby. My friend insisted I come here and try the biscotti though and now I am sold. Nothing like the stale crunchy ones I am used to, so flavorful and perfect dipped in a hot cup of coffee

Amazing coffee. The environment is very cozy and welcoming. The service is amazing. Everyone is so kind and genuine. Coming from a Starbucks fan, this place is way better than Starbucks.

Small cafe down an alley from the main street in downtown Hinsdale. A half dozen two tops and a small, not very usable bar. A coffee roaster takes up a fair hunk of space. Innocuous country music on audio with a TV (fortunately high up and not very noticeable showing the title). 1.5 high celing with painted beams. Light is low but sufficient. Couple of outlets. Kids painting and kitsch on the walls. No rest room. I was there on a beautiful fall Saturday morning and there was a constant stream of regulars picking up drinks, many of whom the gregariously friendly owner (I assume) greeted by name. Small lunchy and breakfast menu. Nice hot chocolate. Chai is Oregon swill. Small selection of decent (two leaves and a bud) teas in soon-to-be-outlawed plastic bags. Also, while I rarely make cultural comments in these reviews, it was impossible not to notice that of the over 150 people who came in while I was working, the only person of color was the mail carrier. He was greeted with the same friendliness as everyone else, but frankly the effect is a little creepy.

This is the best Coffee shop in all of Hinsdale. I ordered a cold brew coffee with a bit of cream and it was leagues ahead of what Starbuckss offers. The place is family owned and very charming. Everyone was very friendly. I would recommend it to any coffee lover out there.

This Hinsdale gem is in the alley across from the Courtyard consignment shop. They have the best coffee, as well as delicious sandwiches. Cafe la Fortuna is family owned and run. You will always be welcomed and there is no standing in long, long lines!

This is a fantastic store. The owners, staff and patrons are just great! Skip the chain stores and get a real authentic coffee, tea, breakfast panini, or a host of other delecacies. Its a perfect, relaxing coffeehouse who roasts their beans daily.

The coffee was decent, but the barista rushed me when she was making drinks, I didnt feel like I had a chance to ask questions about drinks considering I had never been there before. I felt that because they could tell I wasnt from the neighborhood they were rude as well. Oh and they didnt like that I asked if La Fortuna was in Costa Rica (which is more popular) since this place is based on the La Fortuna in Mexico.

The people are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend Mexican Hot Chocolate for all ages.

Changed my review to 4 stars because all the beverages got more expensive recently which makes it less of a bang for the buck.Otherwise, I still love this place. Tiny coffee shop, wish there was a bit more seating space, but everything besides that is great. There is free wifi, the employees are so friendly and personable, and on top of that the coffee is delicious. Definitely one of my favorite cafes. (Make sure you check the hours before you go! Very small sitting area, no background music so pretty stale environment. Cappuccino I had was week, mostly tasted of milk with a hint of coffee. The sweets that we got were good, not made in house. I noticed they were cleaning counters & equipment with a popular window cleaner instead of a sanitizing solution. Prob wont be back...

Come here instead of Starbucks! Its just around the corner, its very quaint, lovely marble tables (5 tables for two, one high bar for two, 1 solo table). Bilingual Spanish, prices are fair, atmosphere is lovely and the staff os super friendly! Yes, they offer complimentary wifi! Ask for receipt ahead of time, if you need it. This is the locals preferred spot, so transactions might not allow for back-tracking receipts. This place is where I will come whenever I am here! :)

This is a coffee shop with a soul.Alejandro, the proprietor, represents the 3rd generation inn his family who has been in the coffee business. He roasts the beans on site. He and his wife are behind the counter 100% of the time. Their approach to coffee is noticeably different than the corporate godzillas seen everywhere. La Fortuna has become a fixture in Hinsdale and feels like a coffee shop should.Give it a try.

An awesome little cafè with delicious Panini and coffee. Wide selection of drinks to choose from, including: delicious cafè con leche, fantastic cafè de olla, and any other traditional cafè coffee preparation that you can think of. Service is incredibly polite and knowledgeable. You can tell that these folks put time and effort into what theyre serving you, unlike Starbucks.

Literally the worst cup of coffee Ive ever had. Im really hoping it was a one-time mess up, but both my Americano and my Girlfriends plain latte had a strong scent, as well as overwhelming taste....of rubbing alcohol. I have no idea how this could have happened, but it obviously ruined both drinks for us. I will not be returning.
