Very clean never too packed. Best hours to shop are in the evening because its almost empty which is nice to keep a distance right now. Love Michelle M.. Super sweet and friendly Customer Service. This place has the best pre-boxed sushi around Hollister I make it my go-to for lunch almost every day and if Im sick of the sushi The boars Head sandwiches are off out of this world. They have a great selection and a awesome team working there everybody has a positive vibe and is super helpful and to make it a bonus you get to save on the Safeway gas if you are a member like I am and always safe almost 30 cents a gallon each time at the pump definitely shop here you will not be sorry you made the decision to come here

I love this Safeway! The workers are so kind and nice. They have some stocking issues at times but overall a great place to shop while youre in Hollister. Its always clean and so are their bathrooms.

Clean store well stocked some of their employees need training to improve their customer service skills.

Cashiers are always fast, carts are always available its never hectic or long lines. But a little pricey unless you get it on sale.

Club card rewards are great as well as all the extra coupons that are available for shopping.

Always a good experience truly play truly helpful may not always be stocked with everything that has lots of great choices

I enjoy shopping at Safeway very much. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of, better than the other grocery store parking lots, where drivers drive every which way. The deli is great, as is the bakery, great cakes and pastries. The fish dept people seem a bit paranoid, though helpful. The balloon people are great and recognize me. There is a very good choice of little things for older patrons, small containers of vegetables and fruit or yogurt. The choice of cookies and candy is very good. There is a great blood taking office, the people there are very competent. There is a great choice of wines. The beer selection is ok. Ive only had two concerns with ice cream, the Tillamook ice cream was blue once and another is seem to have plastic in the ice cream. My favorite time to shop is at the opening, though the self serve machines are down for awhile.

I always find what I need at safeway. The promotions are wonderful and the fact that it helps to purchase to save gas thats a win-win

I had the most humbling, sweet, lucky and serendipitous experience at Safeway back in 02/06/2021 with cashier Marissa & the woman doing the bagging. I was on my way to a much needed womens ceremony that a friend was running for me that required flowers. I hadnt received my EDD (it was suspended) and thought that I had plenty of money in my account, but an unexpected automatic payment (Study.com that charges $59.00 per month for CSET preparation, watch out for them cuz it renews if you dont cancel after your exam(s) went through and wiped me out. I was asked to show up with very specific flowers for this ceremony and so I picked up some carnations & roses. I was deeply embarrassed when my card declined and had every intention of simply returning the flowers and showing up empty handed at my friends house. Marissa and the woman doing the bagging could see tears welling up and offered to buy these flowers for me, even though they absolutely didnt have to. That experience definitely made me cry because here were these young women, helping me out during a time of need when I felt like I, as the older person should be the one to help THEM out! Ive been going back to school to get a Special Education Credential and am super broke these days & they just lifted my entire year with their kind hearted gesture. Without knowing my situation or even asking, these women truly blessed my day & year, again, with their overtly kind and generous offer to buy these flowers for me. They didnt know my situation, but had such empathy for me and this event that I was on my way to. I havent received my financial aid for this semester, but when Im able to, Id love to be able to pay them back or offer them a gift certificate. Ill be done with my SPED credential program in due time. Thank you Marissa and the woman who was doing the bagging. Ive always felt the kind hearted nature of virtually EVERYONE who works at Safeway, but my gosh I just never expected this level of support when I needed it the most. They cemented in me, that despite this horrible pandemic that were in that theres so much love & HOPE & absolutely support in the places youll least expect it. I will forever shop at this store until I am no longer able. These women absolutely didnt have to do this, but they did. I will pay it forward, promise. I hope you women know what blessed angels you are & that some really AMAZING karma is coming your alls way. Im crying again, just remembering that day & how two strangers can completely uplift your spirit with a genuine act of generosity! Know they are clean. So with that in mind take a slip of paper from the donut area if you decide to grab just a bell pepper or a head of lettuce with your bare hands. Sometimes we forget to carry the sanitized cloth. Most vegetables are clothed but thank God for single items due to budget. Fighting what you touch and there again touch maybe not recognizes.💋😋

A week ago I went into the Hollister Safeway to get some $5/lb ribs ($5 Friday special) and they told me that they didnt have any ribs shipped to them. This week they had them but they were out and the cook was at lunch and it would be 2 hours before they would be ready. So I have to make an additional trip to get ribs for my wife.

Wasnt able to use my gift card because it wasnt printed even though ive use it straight from my phone multiple times. Then we over charged for some items so we had to go back in to sort that out.

Ive been coming here for years the pharmacy is top-notch even when we have to get the flu shot she always make sure that my kids get their shot first always taking care of our family they are family !💘youll definitely wont go wrong whith the pharmacy in this establishment.

The store was very crowded. But, the weekly ad had so many bargains, I dont blame everyone for being in the store at once.

It’s a nice store with most everything you need. Decent hot food, deli selections and bakery. Fish and meat department always looks fresh and is generally open longer than their competitor around the corner. My complaints; why I give it 2 stars, are club card and layout.Groceries are spread out from one side of the store to the other with the pharmacy and gift junk in the middle. Stuff I’m never looking for there. Maybe it only happens to me but when I miss something it seems I’m walking miles back and forth through the dead zone and it drives me crazy.Club card.I’m not the club card carrying type. I have an account but I don’t carry the card.the store had mine screwed up for so long it was impossible to use and I got tired of them saying they would update the information, only for it not to work the next time. For this reason I always seem to get screwed if I use the self checkout and sometimes when the cashier can’t find my information. It bothers me that if you are offering lower prices.... just offer the low price to everyone!! I hate having to remember if the items I picked up have club card pricing and whether I’m going to end up paying the higher price if I use the self checkout and can’t figure out how to get the discount pricing.Again, this may be my problem, but at the end of the day it is the store that loses my business because I don’t like the layout and I don’t like messing with the club card. With a few other stores close by I generally just avoid going here because of that. Who knows, maybe it ends up costing me more somewhere else but at least I know up front what I’m going to pay without the guessing game.Other than that for me, it’s a good store.

Been shopping here for quite some years, staff is friendly. Store is clean. I also love the pharmacy services, the best. My negative staff is based on their online shopping service. My order is always I complete so I decided to get down and see if I can substitute the items, turns out the items were there but not in my order. So maybe a lack of effort? Or time?

Safeway is okay. I shop there because its convinient and affordable. However, I hate that they dont have better ligting. The morning cashiers are great, for the most part the evening cashiers are friendly except for Marissa. She has no customer service experience and is terrible.

This Safeway should really be reviewed as two entities. The gas station is convenient, usually one of the lower priced, and generally nice to fuel at. It deserves 4 or 5 stars.The store proper is a different matter. This place is cramped like you wouldnt believe. Even before social distancing the aisles were to close together and the check stand lines went into the aisles. Its central actually harms this review because it is one of the busier places in town. Shopping isnt fun, and they have generally higher prices than Nob Hill or Lucky. If you have the time, Lucky is the better shopping experience all around.

Always long lines and you need to watch them ring up items. Ive been over charged many times. Mainly from the kinda chunky white guy with terrible attitude. Hes a manager too 😂

Currently the store is well stocked with most items you would require. Shopping carts are collected and clean before use. Not a big fan of using Covid19 as an excuse to shove plastic bags down our throats, they dont even attempt to find paper anymore because money before the death of marine life. The dumpsters near the gas station are usually overflowing and garbage is blowing around.

Always crowded but good store my girlfriend worked there and had something fall on her and her being a team player went and told management so it could be fixed.. and they fired her. Other then that good enough

I come here only when necessary (other stores don’t carry what I need). But be prepared to pay more than necessary.Prices are very high here. Go to the smaller markets in Hollister and prices are much more affordable. Everything is marked up here. For example 1lb of tomatoes costs anywhere between $2 to $4+ and at the smaller markets the same 1lb of tomatoes will cost about $0.79 to $1.30.Anytime you come here, you may end up paying about 2x as much as you would somewhere else.

They have a decent amount of choices. They could use more gluten free stuff. They are not limiting the amount of people in the store and you will need to clean your own cart.Staff is always friendly and willing to help. Ive only ever had one nasty lady working in the deli give me attitude but I havent seen her in a while.I used to shop at Nob Hill in Gilroy because I didnt like the Safeway there. But when we moved here it was just the opposite. I dont really like the Nob Hill in Hollister so now I shop at safeway.Also if you use the just for you app you can save even more money.

Ask for Yvonne, shes very sweet and makes them sandwiches taste even better than what you see on the menu. Oh and theyre fast in getting your order. Im there at least twice a week, she also knows my usual or the alternate item.

Ive been here for a Curbside pickup twice. While not bad, the process wasnt as smooth as Walmart or Frys. The second time the phone number on the sign didnt work.

Hollister Safeway is a great place to get your pharmacy prescriptions with a smile, winning lottery tickets, movies, groceries and even gasoline for cheaper prices than Costco with your Safeway Rewards applied. Safeway has it all!

Never have the vegan brands they advertise to have in stock. Deli staff is usually pretty rude and ignore me unless I ask them to directly help me. Produce is over priced and sometimes not in great shape, I think that might be a universal problem in the Ag area though...not sure. It’s the last place I go if I have non choice.

Very disappointing experience using DriveUp & Go service. They gave all my refrigerated/frozen items to someone else but charged me for them. Then told me I would have to wait while they reshopped those items or I could go home without any meat or dairy. I have used grocery pickup at many stores this past year but never had such poor service anywhere else.

Honestly, I’m not someone to EVER write a review but I’m super upset. I always shop at Safeway. Love the prices, the people, the store. The last couple of months I have purchased produce and got home to realize that it is already rotted on the inside and inedible. Two containers of hummus were not sealed, and two different packs of muffins already moldy. It’s extremely disappointing. I’m a mom of two young kids with no time to make extra time to return bad food. I hope it starts to get better.

I want to thank Karla in floral for taking so much time to help me put together a floral arrangement for my daughters college graduation! She stopped what she was doing to assist me and made suggestions that helped me decide on colors and the style of the bouquet. She then took all the flowers I liked and made a tremendously full and elegant bouquet! I have been shopping at Safeway for years and they are all wonderful but this lady was the BEST! Superior customer service, thank you so much 😇

Love the new look. Getting use to finding everything. Only issue is there is never enough checkers. Sometimes I am fourth or fifth person in line with one open checkout. When calls of assistance are made, it seems a long time before someone shows up. Happy with people and service.😁

The management here is very very poor. Wish I could give zero stars. Ordered drive up and go 2 days in a row and the first day they only gave me 5 of 30 items cause they were rushing and forgot my other bags and the 2nd day I waited from 7:00 pm till 8:30 and ended up leaving cause they said they still weren’t done with my order that was supposed to be at 7:00 and the worker commented that the manager sits there and does nothing all day why they run around like slaves due to management cutting back employees hours when they are super busy. Horrible experience. Corporate needs to clean out the store and get rid of the scum that is called a manager. Nob hill was such a fast easy ordering experience. Don’t shop at this Safeway in Hollister
