This was my first time going here Joe and his staff was honest and good. Joe was offering a free scan diagnosis on cars so I took him my Honda and my mercedes. For my mercedes I was sure it was my transmission going out and wasnt looking forward to putting that money out to fix it but after Joe scanned the car he told me it was my shifter ...thank God and thank you Daytona auto repair

Daytona auto repair gives great service, and really have great knowledge of vehicles. They know cars and what their doing. They have very skilled machanics who know how to repair your car. They are honest with their estimates. They did good quality work on my car.

Had 355 gears installed in my 93 lincoln town car came out great... no gear noise. They do great work. Highly recommend

Had my Transmision replaced and catalytic converter replaced there. They put the wrong torque converter at first and fixed that but not Long after the catalytic converter needed to be replaced so brought it back for them to fix. Between the two jobs it was around 4600. 2.5 years later the torque converter already is failing and unfortunately they told me the warranty only good for a year. Or 12k miles. Not sure what quality they put in or put in a used part but for the part to fail after two and a half years is a little ridiculous.

I was in town for bike week and transmission on my 2018 Chevrolet. Joe is very professional and knowledgeable. He went out of his way dealing with warranty company. And got me a new transmission installed by the time bike week was over. Very satisfied.

My car was to be dropped off at kia dealership...when i called kia to see whats going on..they said your kia not here...called tower..its here..$400 to get out..of yard....Do they Do this to others too...? Brian cashier was Very helpful and polite...

I live in VA, but stay in FL with my parents for months at a time. Joe treats me like a local. Being a woman from out of town it is good to have someone trust worthy when I need cars repairs 750 miles from home. Never makes me feel stupid or taken advantage of. Joe is my go-to for anything I need done to my car that I can’t do myself. His labor cost is more than fair, especially for the quality of work he delivers. He’s always straight-up and honest about what’s going on and won’t steer you wrong. Definitely the best mechanic in town

I never have a problem with Joe and staff. I took my car to another place to fix my shifter cables due to proximity and TIME constraints. They got everything to go back in gear EXCEPT reverse (no matter how hard they tried). I dealt with that for almost 9 months then it broke loose again. This time I took it back to Joe (being as that 5yrs ago hed fixed this problem before) and I was not disappointed one bit. Joe is very good and usually VERY busy, but he still takes the time to get my vehicle done in a timely matter. Lesson learned: Joe and staff took care of me, and even REPAIRED the screw up the other place did, which solved the lack of reverse engagement. THAT is what I call COMMITMENT, and great customer service. A-1 Daytona Auto Repair has been my place for over a decade and will continue to do so. Great guys! Brought my car in there because of a broken sensor probe and they checked it out for free and also replaced two of my bell housing bolts that they found missing. Didn’t charge me anything! Highly recommend them!

Awful, shame on A-1. They went over estimate. They were not done on time. DID NOT FIX ORIGINAL COMPLAINT. Broke my exhaust and never mentioned it. I needed an input shaft bearing and rear seal on my manual trans. Chevy. I figured to put a clutch in it since the trans. would be on the ground anyway. They did the rear seal and clutch. My transmission still makes noise in neutral foot off clutch pedal. I believe the shop knowing I was from out of state had an easy mark. I will be contacting district atty in his county. $720.00 and didnt fix my truck. I had to reattach my muffler. He added $30 on my bill ( charged me extra for the privilege of getting scammed )I cannot be the only victim of this shops scams. I hope everyone thats been ripped off says something .May 6th update.My transmission has failed. Ive had my truck towed to another shop. Another $700.00. It is so frustrating so humiliating to have been ripped off and have no recourse. . If youve read this far into my review you are now aware of this mans true lack of integrity. I dont know this man personally but what hes done to me is very personal. . Dont give your money to this thief. Take your chances somewhere else.

These guys are great! They call you when they say they will call. They explain everything in great detail. Their prices are reasonable. Our transmission went out on a Sunday afternoon. We got it to them on Monday morning without an appointment and they fixed it by 3:30. Told us it could be as low as $560 or as high as $1,595. It ended up being $560. They treat customers the way they used to be treated years ago. Very friendly and attentive.

I took my Acura here to Joe as it started shifting hard, and being on vacation, I really wanted to be able to get home when planned. Long story short, I took it to Joe thinking I needed a rebuild, he took it in looked at it, drove it, ran diagnostics, and told me I had an issue with the ABS module that was causing it to shift hard. He very easily could have dropped the transmission and rebuilt it and charged me for something I didnt need. But I feel Joe was very straightforward and honest. Good to see that honesty in the business world.

I only considered use of Daytona for conducting a remote inspection of a vehicle, but never actually used them. Im sure its a good shop, though.

Honest. Affordable and Reliable Service. Joe and his team did an excellent job repairing the transmission on my Jeep. It rides as smooth as butter. I am very impressed on how they took care of my concerns, let me know exactly what was wrong with it, and discussed everything up front, including the price, which was very reasonable versus others. It took me a while to find them, but I am glad I did. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Daytona auto is hands down the best there is in the area. My family and I are from out of state and he took us in as his own. Repaired my vehicle and worked with me on pricing to allow me to still have enough money to have the best purposel for my fiance. Hands down a great team and speedy, thorough work. Stressed out how I was going to fix my AC I called Joe he made me feel at ease just over the phone I went in they hooked my car up to a computer and realized it just a simple fuse problem fixed it just like that! Would never use this shop. I tried to call them from our home phone in Palm Coast, Florida thought they just had a glitch... so I then called from my cell phone that has a South Carolina number. Both times, the call was answered by a recording, saying this number does not accept telemarketing calls... please remove us from your call list! Unbelievable! They must think that my number is a past unhappy customer. I even waited a week and tried again, just to see, and got the same recording! Wow. First time that has ever happened. That is just bizarre! Normally I would not write a review but with customer service this bad - and impossible to call to speak to someone, I felt compelled to take a moment and write this! I am sure that someone who goes there to get a repair has no idea that if they later try to call them, that they will get a recording like that.. and no other number listed anywhere for this business!

Was traveling on a florida fishing trip when i broke down and the staff helped me out right away. They ordered the parts i needed and had me back on the road that day.Great work, great price and just real nice people. Just be careful of the dog when you walk into the office, hes a loud barker! If your not ready for it he will surprize you. But he really is a very friendly dog.

Great customer service! Fast and friendly. Researched the cost and they were right under the average cost for a transmission repair.

Went there for a simple repair. I thought I was getting a good price but by then end of the repair I was charged double. I found out later that parts is not included in his estimate for work. I saw on his website students get a 20% discount so I asked him about it and he said my estimate was already discounted so he wouldnt honor it. In the end I paid way over for a job I could have went to several other places for the same if not better quality of work at a cheaper price.

Joe helped my son who is there for college. He didnt over charge, he actually went above and beyond to help out my son. Anytime my son is having a problem, he calls Joe and he always helps him out. Would recommend them to everyone.

I have nothing but good things to say about this company. My cars transmission went down 11/24/15 around 1pm. A1 Transmission had it in their shop by 4pm that day and I got my back on the road in less than 24 hours. The first time I ever entered the shop I spoke to a woman in which I let her know that my air conditioner in my van stopped working yesterday and that it belong to a business a couple doors down from them and I believe that they’ve had it in here before maybe for something else or another and this man came out representing himself as the owner and said we haven’t had that van in here three years Or more screaming in my face and I said excuse me but what would it matter if this van was in here yesterday the day before or week ago I am the new owner to the van I was just saying this is where they’ve had it serviced he said I don’t care I don’t care I don’t want to work on that van and I don’t want you here in my business get out of here! I originally went to Aamco because I was told over the phone they could diagnose my vehicle for free, when I arrived they told me they could look at it but a diagnosis would cost 90 dollars. I mean 90 dollars just to tell me what is wrong is crazy. I called Daytona Auto Repair they said a diagnosis would not be a problem, in under 10 mins they figured out the problem a part was ordered and 4-5 hours later my car was ready to go. They were even nice enough to provide me with a lift to and from my home.Joe is a great mechanic and a great help he was a life saver and right before Thanksgiving also. This place is Awesome, I am an totally going to go back to this place in the future!

I was from out of town. My transmisson started acting up. Went here talked with the owner. He knew what the problem was.. charged me $600 got 2 blocks from the shop and my transmisson started doing the same thing. Took it back he told me sorry you need a who new transmisson $2,200 dollars. Needless to say I had my car towed home 2 states away and was put the $600 for basically transmisson fluid and a filter. Real honest people NOT

I was very leary when I took my van there as I used to work in the auto repair business myself and know firsthand the tricks they like to pull but I must say these guys seem to be very honest and very professional.They rebuilt my transmission and they had the best price in two counties (Flagler and Volusia) and a good warranty. There are no leaks not even a drop and it works perfect. I highly recommend this repair shop for any thing under your hood.
