This was a 50/50 experience. I got three things, and only one was decent. I asked for the bagel to be extra toasted, and it didn’t seem like it was toasted at all. I got an iced coffee which was made with hot water and instant coffee, and then the employee walked around the counter to put ice in it from the fountain machine. The employees were also not wearing masks even though there was a sign on the door saying masks were required. I usually enjoy American Bagel, but this location does not hold up to the brand.

I’ve been coming here for years, never had a bad experience! I love the Turkey club on a jalapeño cheddar bagel, no tomato and add cheddar cheese!😋

Love their bagels!!! Hot tomazzo is my favorite but there is something for everyone. Lots of cream cheese choices too that won’t disappoint.

Disappointed I used to come here for years and their speciality blueberry bagel always had blueberries melted on the outside along with a crunch filling now it’s just a regular blueberry bagel not specialty at all

Never had a bad experience until this morning. Young girl with bandana and round glasses was so rude and clearly didn’t want to be there. The bagels were barley toasted and had no butter as I asked for. If that Is the new morning person, will probably have to find a new one because no one wants to feel as if they are a bother ordering their breakfast :/

Still the best bagels around unfortunately theres not so many Great American Bagels around any more so every time Im near one I have to get some...prices here are also getting high but so far it has been worth it

I have tried near and somewhat far Great American Bagel restaurants and this one is superior. Best service, best tasting food, and best selection

They had exactly what I wanted which was a bakers dozen of bagels without even having to place an order ahead of time (though I could have). Bagels were delicious as always even a few days later though I wish the bagels were slightly less done overall as sometimes they can be a light overdone.

Been open for years and still is the best place to get bagels! Amazing specialty cream cheeses and special bagels. Highly recommend.

Wow! Bagels that are delicious and not hard as a rock. Their corned beef is lean and super tasty. I love the cream cheeses they make up, in small containers, from savory to sweet. They take party orders and make things fresh for your gathering. The service is excellent, prices good. Glad they are close by!

The freshly baked bagels, no one else has!So good, with a unbelievable variety of flavors & cream cheeses to match.My favorite is the Lox sandwich on the Everything Bagel.The Pizza Bagel is the first to disappear, so hurray.

I ordered a plain bagel and the jalapeno cheddar cream cheese. It was fabulous! I have been passing by the Great American Bagel for over five years and finally went in there day before yesterday. I will be going back!!! Also, the customer and was excellent!!!

OMG!! Today was my 1st time going to Great American Bagel in Homewood, IL. I ordered the lox bagel and it was AMAZING!! Every ingredient was fresh, smoked salmon, tomatoes, onions, chive cream cheese, capers and the bagel - never knew bagels were suppose to taste this way, not hard but fresh and delicious! And the service was excellent, they were patient with me and made suggestions that made for the perfect breakfast bagel before heading to work!! 5 stars!

Every time I visit my family amd my original home I come back here for the cheddar bacon bagel. Houston has a lot of things but they dont have cheddar bacon bagels!

The bagels always taste great. My faves are the everything bagel and the sprouted grain bagel. The sandwiches are good too! Staff always provide great service!!

I always get the chicken club sandwich on either a provolone or plain bagel. Im always greeted and tended to with excellent service. I used to come here so much that the guy who I believes own the place new my order and I didnt have to tell him what I wanted lol. And when someone else was helping he went ahead and stepped in to make it for me. My dogs even like the bagel treats.

It will take you a while to get your food but everything is delicious and staff is friendly

The food was good and the service was great.

If you come in the morning, you will have a good bagel. Later in the day gets a bit iffy. Often, they are out of a bunch of bagels in the afternoon and the ones they do have are sometimes dry/stale.

Limited amount of coffee, the chili tasted like it came out a can and they dont have shredded cheese yet they have pictures on their menu of food with shredded cheese on it. This location falls way short of the University Park location in both service and food quality.
