Just stopped by here today for the first time awesome bagels!!! by far the best bagel shop in town! pretty close to NY bagels will definitely come here regularly and the two ladys that works there were super nice 10/10

They were so kind and sweet. We had evacuated from New Orleans ahead of Hurricane Ida. They asked us a ton of questions, offered us support, and the food was delicious. A welcome treat during a harrowing time. They were truly caring. Thank you so much.

I had the bacon/egg/cheese on the pepperjack jalapeño bagel... very delicious! I also had the hazelnut latte which wasnt that great. Next time, I would probably just get regular coffee.

We loved our lunch at Homewood Bagel Co! Nice cozy seating area with modern decor. I had a bagel sandwich with avocado ham and cheese which was delicious. Their sweet bagels with cream cheese were great too! All bagels are dairy free! (except cheesy options) I’ll be going back to try their giant cinnamon roll soon!

We got to town in the middle of the brunch rush and restaurants were slammed so we took a detour here and ordered curbside pick up. It was ready when we arrived and it was fresh and yummy!!! Looking forward to returning to BHAM and to HBC!!!

Not worth the wait!!6 people working this morning and no service. I stood in line for 15 minutes with 1 person in front of me. Workers failed to recognize any of us. The line out the door was due to poor service. If the labor market wasn’t so tight, I’d recommend firing all of them.

Rude employees. Long order process. Over priced bagels skimping on everything. No available choices (everything is out by 10:30…) cross contamination! My bagel tasted like bacon and I am vegetarian could only eat half of it… coffee was terrible and for some reason they said we can’t add sweetener because it’s measured?? Had to return it. Never coming back !

Such a sweet bagel shop! We loved the ancient grains and sea salt bagels. It is in a cute part of Birmingham. I love any place I can also get a latte.

So theres a lot I have to say... This review is for the staff that were working 08/27/21 around 9:45 am.Let me start off by saying I had been craving a bagel for the past 3 days but never came across a place that I could get one. Well this morning I had the time to stop. HBC was the first place that popped up on Maps so I went. I walked in, was greeted by the staff (one of the MOST FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING groups of staff Ive dealt with in Alabama) and I was having some trouble with the menu and I was given help. So I placed my order and shortly after I had been informed that they were out of plain bagels. One of the staff members Apologized and suggested the salted bagel. I was a little disappointed but I was just gonna deal with it. I recieved my order in less than 2 minutes. I got back to my work truck and to my surprise the TWO bagels I ordered werent halved. I got TWO FULL BAGELS. Which I wasnt expecting. I pull out the first bagel (salted bagel with cinnamon sugar spread) and it looked pretty good.... I absolutely made love to that bagel.. It was SO GOOD. And very filling. My experience here was TOP NOTCH. 10/10 WILL BE RETURNING. (Shortened review currently working)

Its nice enough, but I was not blown away by the food. Very average bagels, over seasoned to be quite honest, not excited to return.

Hand down... This is the best place to eat something light... The price is good.. The staff is so kind and helpful.(first time to visit).. I live at least 45 minutes away and I am willing to drive the distance

The owner was kind enough to let me sample various types of bagels. (Thanks!) All were good, but I most enjoyed the cranberry one. Will be back to try out other options.

Had a bacon cheddar jalapeño bagel with sausage egg and cheddar jalapeño cream cheese....easly one of the best breakfast sandwiches Ive ever had!

Love HBC! I usually get a toasted plain bagel with egg and cheese. So yummy! Love their whipped cream cheese spreads and variety of bagel choices. Just tried the avocado toast today, and it was DELICIOUS!!! Really hit the spot!!!

What an absolutely DELIGHTFUL place. The staff were very friendly and answered our numerous questions on their bagel making process, the store itself is small but super cute, the asiago & rosemary bagel absolutely SPANKED, and the iced coffee was good. We got it to-go, and my only regret is that I didn’t get a second one or that I wasn’t in person to go get another.

This review is a bit weighted negatively due to comparison to another bagel place in bham. My wife and I tried this as an alternative to said place, and we were both extremely disappointed in the taste. The service was great, even the coffee was many times better than our other usual, but the bagels werent at all what we expected.Ive purposely left out the competitor as to not cause any direct issues between HBC and the other bagel company.

The service was absolutely horrible! People behind the counter are more concerned with taking the order than exicuiting the orders. Very poor selection of choices since over half the menu was not in stock. After ordering and waiting 20 minutes for my food I was told that they were currently out.. after wasting my time. They did refund me and gave me a subsitute. But that was extremely underwhelming. After wasting 45 minutes of my time I wish I would of went elsewhere

My favorite place to get bagels in town! I buy a dozen and get them sliced and freeze them and enjoy all week.

Lovely smells of bagels are drift into my mind every time I see the sign of the time that I had bagels abound smelling and drifting in and out of sound wondering why I continue on thinking of rhymes while Im on my phone okay it ended

I cant believe I just found this place--finally a place to get a proper, NY style bagel. Chewy with a crackly crust, good cream cheese. Worth every penny. Look forward to becoming a regular for many years to come.

Stellar bagels. They have that great crackly texture characteristic of true New York bagels. The zesty green onion spread was perfect; very flavorful. I ended up getting a second bagel because my first was so good. Highly recommend this place—best Bham bagels.

The best bagels in Birmingham and it’s not even close. Being from NY I like to think that I know bagels and I know that these bagels are delicious. The plain with loaded cream cheese and the Asiago with plain cream cheese are my favorites. But don’t forget how amazing the cinnamon and sugar cream cheese is also. I can’t wait till the store opens to try out all the new menu items!

Trash, service was very slow we ordered 2 bagels and it took over an hour to receive them, while 1 lady took a break with 10ish people waiting and 30 minutes in waiting for our order

First day of business, and everything was incredible! My sons liked the croissants and the plain bagel with cinnamon sugar cream cheese. The lox bagel was amazing! We cant wait to go back!

The bagels are fresh and the sandwiches are FILLING 🤗 reasonably priced. Coffee is good too! Friendly staff but they may need to work on getting more seating, it gets full quick

Try the everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese - delicious!! Coffee was outstanding as well! I love that you can “pay it forward” and buy a bagel for someone in need. I am so thankful that HBC is in the neighborhood for good!

My order was for bagel sandwiches and fruit cups.We got whole wheat bread sandwiches and fruit cups.I was in too much of a hurry to stay and figure out what happened.$62 for 4 sandwiches and 4 fruit cups.

Best bagels from the best folks! The bagels are incredible--the texture and the flavor are always spot on (jalapeno pepper jack is my favorite followed closely by rosemary asiago and everything), and the homemade cream cheese are to die for! Zesty green onion is my favorite, but the veggie and loaded are also awesome. The best part is that the owners/bakers are locals who love the community and love their work. Support these fine folks and carb-load up!

Hands down best bagels and homemade spreads!! I’ve loved all their flavors, but it’s hard to beat HBC’s PERFECT Everything Bagel. Oh, and don’t skip the loaded cream cheese!!!

Was really looking forward to eating here after seeing such good reviews. I ordered a chocolate chip bagel with cream cheese spread and cinnamon role off of doordash. I got a garlic bagel with honey on it. I don’t know how it got that messed up, and was only offered $2 credit from doordash. ( also, I can’t think of a worse combination than garlic and honey. There is no way to eat that.)The cinnamon role was cold and was like eating jerky or something- it is extremely hard. I don’t know if their service is just bad on Doordash, but I definitely would not recommend.

They are always so kind, and the food is amazing! The Asiago Rosemary is divine.

We came here for the public soft opening and it was fantastic! Best bagel I’ve had in Birmingham and I’ve had a lot of bagels. I got the everything bagel with zesty green onion schmear and tomato, and my boyfriend got an Asiago rosemary bagel with cheese. Both were delicious. The bagels had good bite and were nice and chewy. The schmear was flavorful and complemented the bagel perfectly. I will definitely be back!Update-Came back and got the lox bagel. They piled it on, it was delicious! So good we ate the first half before thinking to take a picture.

Great bagels!!! Great atmosphere! Can’t wait for our next trip.
