This little bookstore is bringing a lot of joy to the Downtown Homewood community. I love the direction the new owners brought to the store. All of the details including the wonderful coffee cart have been a welcome addition. The displays, selection of books and friendly atmosphere make this a great place to shop and spend time. My co-workers and I love to walk down from our office to visit Little Professor in the afternoons and grab a cup of coffee while we browse.

This is probably my favorite store of any store Ive ever been to. The kids book selection is fantastic and they can order anything they dont have. The selection is big but curated so you dont waste time sifting through throwaway books like you do at overgrown bookstores. You can reliably use this shop as a pulse to keep updated on the latest and best books, and the employees know their stuff. They also give out coffee and free balloons for kids.

Lovely and quaint bookstore that also has sweet treats (on weekends) and quality coffee. Everyone is always super nice and happy to help you find what you need. If they dont have the book you are looking theyll order it for you. Best little spot in Homewood.

Little Professor is the perfect introduction to a local bookshop. The shop is well organized making it easy to find what youre looking for, and helpful staff will make special orders for books they may not have in stock (a service I have personally used and loved). They even have a local delivery service that will bring your online selections to you when you cant drive to them, and give discounts on books that local schools list for required reading. Although my own daughter is older now and peruses the young adult books, I enjoy that they spend so much time on the curation of their childrens section, and host events that include the little ones. Little Professor is all around a fun spot to grab a cup of local coffee and peruse with the family.

Its a bookstore. If u want it, they have small collection of most titles. Associates are pleasant, but not able to extend proper customer service unless you are willing to spend much more than you need to at competitors place.

Little Professor moved to a new location (very close to the original) a few years ago and along with it has made a lot of positive changes: branding, accessibility (on a main shopping strip), and most recently, coffee. They have a great children’s section with some really gorgeous picture books and have a wide range of puzzles for kids and adults. The stock is more curated than the old location due to a smaller shop (the old had some used books and magazines upstairs) but they now offer online ordering, free local delivery, and curbside pickup. Ordered books come wrapped in brown paper with their new logo stamped on them. Instead of the old loyalty punch cards they have a paid membership option that gives 20% off (or 40% off for their weekly bestsellers) and members get a free drip coffee. Their social media is very engaging and helpful with curated suggestions, gift ideas, and fun engagement. Very happy to have Little Professor as my local bookstore!

I stopped by here quickly on a whim and I’m so happy I did! The staff is wonderful, the shop is dog friendly, and the coffee tastes great. I wish I could have spent more time here- they seem to have a great selection. The woman who helped me took less than 30 seconds to find the book I wanted. I definitely recommend this to anyone in the area or if you’re just passing through!

My first time to visit the new location. I met the new owner, was waited on promptly. They had the book I needed. Friendly, knowledgeable and good service! And my cash was accepted! Both front doors were propped open allowing fresh air in the store. Buy local!

The staff was welcoming and had a professional appearance. They were customer oriented and made every effort to meet our needs. We had a little professor with us who needed to use the restroom facilities. They were spotless and easily accessible. The staff promptly rang up our purchases, were friendly and helpful.

Ill give the store itself a 4. Ill give the sweet woman who works there an equal 4. However, I spent much time looking at all the books, enjoying the store... really looking for a grab me purchase. I found it. And Not Taking Cash!!!! Youll touch a debit/credit card that has been used and touched all during the shopping at various other stores, but you wont accept the cash ...from my hand to yours. Ridiculous. I had to leave without the book.

A gem of a store worthy of competing with any other book store in the world. In addition to having a great selection, the staff curation and themed displays they artfully compose will inspire you to read a book you may have otherwise missed.Mary Laura in particular was incredibly helpful and kind and contributed to my favorite memory in the state of Alabama.Do yourself a favor and visit this outstanding shop.

I had not been to this store in several years, and did not realize they had moved. They have a fun selection of interesting, local, and signed books. The smart kind of stuff to keep them in business against the online megastore. Definitely drop in and pick something up and support local shopping.

Love this store. I emailed to ask if they had a travel book and not only did they set it aside so I could come look at it a few days later but they also set aside the new ones that came in the day before I could get to the store. Very helpful and friendly.

This bookstore has a great selection of books and the nicest staff! They always carry very nice editions of books and many lovely covers you wouldnt see in chain bookstores. I visit this store all the time and would definitely reccommend.

Love this store! Sells a great selection of new fiction books that are never in stock elsewhere. For instance, it is impossible to find new copies of PG Wodehouses works (i.e. the Jeeves and Wooster series) at larger chain stores, but Little Professor has an entire shelf of Wodehouses books, fresh off the press. Upstairs is a used book section, and some displays are dedicated to books by local authors. Check out the graphic novel and art/photography/coffee table book sections. Overall pleasant and quiet- perfect if you want to pick up a book or two and spend a day reading!

Great selection (!) of books. In the avalanche of new publications it is nice to have a local bookstore with knowledgeable bookworms that will provide you with great recommendations, help you to remember the author of a book, and take the time to select books from local authors and the most important reads from around the world. Go and attend a reading.
