We got quoted $500 to replace one spark plug at Honda dealership that would take hours. When we called Midas he told us come on down and it would be $40 to do right now. We did end up needing all spark plugs replaced but it was still cheaper than the $500 Honda quoted for just one. Wilson and his crew members were honest, friendly and took good care of our family. We came in with 4 young kids and each time he told us how long it would take, he was right in the dot about it. Thankfully they were able to fix our car so we could continue our vacation. I’d highly recommend this location for their trustworthy employees and time efficient work that they did.

When everyone else turned me away for my exhaust issue, these guys dove right in. Pricing was better than I expected along with turnaround time. It’s hard to take my Porsche to just anyone but I love when you take your vehicle to someone that knows their craft and speaks on it with passion. That’s rare in the automotive industry where most people just wanna make a buck. You can tell they enjoy automotive work and are good at it.

They were very insightful about a tire issue I was having. The end result was very good and plan on using them more in the future.

Its been more than serval years since Ive been in a Midas store. What a pleasant surprise this was several days ago for me. From the first call( live person BTW ) to schedule an appointment, to the inspection/estimate and repair to the final check out process this was a fine example of how to do business. No pushy sell folk trying to up sell me just a genuine help attitude. What a refreshing client experience this was for me with schedules and pricing being kept as promised. Dont bother making an appointment online, because its useless. Made an appointment, got confirmation of said appointment, and when I got there I was told I didnt have an appointment because the online system doesnt actually make appointments for this location and its somehow my responsibility to call them and make the appointment again. So needless to say I did not get service on the day I made an appointment, and I took my money elsewhere.Mind you, this is not universal for Midas. I go to another Midas location in another state and never have this problem. Wont be returning to this location again, and I would advise the franchise owner to seriously rethink their appointment system.

You hear the stories of mechanics taking advantage of women all the time but not today. This place is great and the guys who work here are the nicest youll ever meet. I was there for something small and was asked to come out and look at my car. I thought here we go... they found a bunch of stuff wrong and the bills gonna go up $1000.00 but thats not the case. He just wanted to show me something that could go wrong in the future so I could keep an eye on it. Im a pretty good judge of character and these guys seem very trustworthy and kind. Im definitely gonna go back if I need anything else done to my car. Highly recommend the Midas on Highway 31, Hoover.

Had our car break down on vacation. This was the only shop open on a Saturday. Manager was vaping and blew the vape all over my and my kids multiple times. The work that they did took way longer than it should have, was nearly double the cost that other people quoted. Got home and a few weeks later had a mechanic tell me that the work they did at this Midas place was poor and he was going to have to go back through and re-do a lot of it. I would not recommend using this place. Theres a lot of other places that are more honest, more upfront and that will do better work.

I was recommended to them by Express Oil Change off 280. I apparently had an exhaust leak on my work van, which was pretty loud by this time. These guys were very helpful and informative, contacting me before proceeding on the repair, and physically showing me the issues. Great rapport too. Once done, I don’t think I’ve ever heard this van quieter, or maybe it’s been awhile. Either way, they did a great job. Thank you all!! Oh yeah, they recommended the Fishmarket restaurant nearby, which was awesome. Thanks again guys.

Was traveling out of town and my starter went out. They squeezed me in at the close of day and had my car running again a couple of hours later. Were very professional the whole time. One of the best experiences Ive had at any auto repair place.

I had a hard time finding somewhere to weld a new flex pipe on my car with short notice on a Saturday with my two screaming godless heathens. This place was amazingly accommodating! My wife brought her new car (that actually works) and occupied the monsters while I tried to piece my life back together. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about cars and they taught me a couple of things. They worked me in as quickly as they could and kindly sent me on my merry Fast and the Furious way! The mechanic ran a great bead on my exhaust and I could not be happier with it. Whilst still lose consistently to Toyota Tundras this was a vast improvement in my driving experience! 10/10

The customer service as you enter was extremely nice. They even offered coffee. They have a clean restroom. The reason why I gave this business 3 stars is because I had an oil change and rotation of tires however the later that day my tire light came on and the following morning it was completely flat. I had to pay for a tow service and Lyft to handle the matter. At this time I recommend them but keep an eye on the service provided.

We were traveling on vacation when our engine light went on. We saw the Midas bay doors open even though it was after hours so pulled in. Bebe was kind enough to look under the hood and found the problem and went out of his way to fix it after hours and would not accept any money!! He was such a kind person and we so appreciate his help! In my eyes he is a Superman that helps stranded motorists. Thanks also to his wife who helped us find a nice hotel as we were planning on spending the night on our way to Gulf Shores. I would give the the highest ratings available and will pass it on!

Wilson (mgr) and his people are excellent ... They dx and repaired a simple muffler issue that the Cadillac dealership wanted to charge me an outrageous fee. Honestly is important in the car business and much appreciated.

I debated writing this review but after making an appointment and yet again being told they are 30-45 min behind I am too disappointed and had to share my experience. They are nice people and decently priced but never again will come back to this place. I have been coming here since I bought my car in 2018 and every time I make an appointment. Every time I arrive on time but they are running behind. Every time I wait almost 2 hours for a simple oil change. The last time I called before I went because I was bringing my 3 month old son and they assured me I would be out in an hour. I waited in the lobby for over an hour and my car never even got pulled up to a rack so I left. Its literally not worth your time to come here for routine maintenance.

While headed to the dealership to get my car maintenance completed before taking a long trip, my BEST friend suggested Midas in Hoover. Being the skeptic I am about having work done on my car because I’ve been taken advantage of before, i took a leap of faith. From the very first phone call to discuss what I needed done to the actual service was great. When it came time to show me I needed tires I was given options with no pressure to purchase. I was given an explanation of why I needed the tires and then they showed me. In summary, the customer service, the mechanic who worked on my car, to the general manager who educated me on tires, it was ALL a good experience and will definitely do business again.

They repaired our van quickly and we were back on our way to celebrate Christmas with family. We were able to make it because of their compassion to take on work on Christmas Eve. Very trustworthy place!I was told I needed new brakes at a different shop, so I sought a second opinion here. These guys said I was good for another 20K miles at least! And caught a small problem that would have become much more expensive if they had not seen it. Will be going here while living in Hoover.Visited these guys again and had another fantastic experience: efficient and always honest!

The people here at Midas went above and beyond what I had expected and I am so pleased with the service that I received, my car was repaired and it runs great.

They cut the mufflers off the car before realizing they did not have a replacement so they kept the vehicle for two days longer than promised. Then told us the wrong closing time. At pickup, they rude and combative. Poor experience. To be fair, I feel like they did do a good job.

I had an exhaust problem on my Mercedes C300. My appointment was at 4:00pm. They had my exhaust problem fix and oil changed before 6:00. Excellent service would recommend for all your service needs.

I brought my car in for a $17.76 Oil Change special and wound up spending close to $200. My car was fine when I brought it in. When I picked it up initially(after oil change) they said the inspection was good for everything. The oil change included a tire rotation and I thought that happened as well. I drove away and my tires began making this horrible droning noise as I picked up speed. I brought it back and found that they did not rotate the tires. I dont know what happened while it was in their possession but they said I needed two new front tires. It was close to time for tires so I got them since the price was reasonable BUT what made the tires not okay after the inspection said they were okay and no rotation occurred and then they make this horrific droning noise ALL OF A SUDDEN?

I came out of pocket from so much money buying rental cars and etc just for them not to fix my truck right. I don’t recommend anyone taking their foreign cars there. They are very nice and friendly though. But the service needs some work. My motor almost caught on fire because of bad wiring. I did get my money back though for the service and parts but I still came out of almost 400$ in rental cars.

I have used Midas for years in another location and I always respected their quality of work and prices. Unfortunately, the Hoover team made an epic fail.I made an appointment one week prior for brakes, exhaust, struts, oil change and tire rotation. Cost was discussed and I wrote it down. The keys and vehicle were delivered one night early. They decided to hold off until 1:30 pm to start anything and then provided extreme estimates 3x what we talked about before I dropped it off. I only allowed them to change the oil and rotate the tires after the cheat attempt. Beware, brake estimate = $30!The tires were not rotated because they forgot. The front desk guy simply told me they don’t need rotated as they put tires in a position to maximize rear traction on a 60:40 split front:rear AWD vehicle. He offered to show me a video. That ideology is technically wrong and now my tires will wear in this position for 20,000 + 3,000 more miles.NEVER again. Go elsewhere to avoid a poorly organized and managed facility,

I drove my car here 6/21/2017 to have my rotors turned. I was getting a shimmy/shaking while applying the brakes to my 2008 Honda Civic. Google maps indicated that the place was closed so I called and the guy at the desk informed me they were closed for a time but now open. When I pulled up there was only one other car there and no one was in the waiting room. Something like this should have probably clued me in but I thought it was a weekday before 4pm so didnt think much about it. It took them two hours to turn my front rotors and my car still shakes when I apply the brakes. My car also makes a ticking noise when Im going less than ten MPH while turning the wheel slightly left. There was no noise before these people worked on it. I then took the car back to see what could be done about it. They said when they drove it around and stopped at slow speeds and highway speeds they didnt hear or feel anything. These people dont know what theyre doing. It would be a complete waste of time and money to take your vehicle here. Ill not be taking my vehicle here ever again.

Had a simple brake bolt malfunction went to my local AutoZone thinking they could help me with the installation and they just simply said they cant change my bulb I dont know if it was fear of breaking something in my car but they were no help whatsoever this Midas granted was only going to charge me $71 but when they saw how simple of a procedure it actually was they cut my bill in half talk about excellent service I will be taking my car and my wifes car here from now on 👍

My boyfriend and my father are both engineers who each know the way around a garage, and I, admittedly, could change my oil and brakes and tires and gaskets (etc) myself if I truly wanted to...still I have no reason not to support local business and visit Midas for routine maintenance. Especially since Bebe is the first mechanic in town who hasn’t lied to me about something being wrong with my Lexus. I feel totally comfortable with him—which is huge. Plus, it’s a pretty big deal that they don’t hide from me while they work on the car. I can see everything from the lobby, which is not something you can say about most places. I never met the previous owner, but as far as I can tell you— I wouldn’t be afraid to send my mother here if need be.

The mechanics at Midas repaired a crack in my exhaust and replaced an oxygen sensor. Now my vehicle runs like new. Thanks

Even though Midas is a franchised chain, the employees at this specific location treat every interaction as if their own reputation is on the line. They are kind and honest, and, most importantly, come off as 100% trustworthy.If youre tired of having somebody just read some data off of a monitor that they obviously dont know anything about, or youre tired of somebody trying to up-sell you on tons of junk that you dont need, or youd just like to shake hands with the guy whos actually going to work on your car, this is the place to go.The quality of all the work weve gotten at this location so far has been A+, and well be coming back in the future for everything that we need.

This was always my go-to place for auto service when Bebe was front and center. So far, my last two experiences with Jack have been awful. Each time Ive gone for an oil change and tire rotation, hes tried to pressure me into agreeing to $1500 worth of urgent repairs. He even refused to rotate my tires because he said I needed to purchase some from them asap. I wont be returning there, which sucks because Ive been getting my vehicles serviced at this Midas for several years. Please dont reply with that generic response.

I knew I had to have brakes and rotors, but not a lot of money to spare. I told Jack my budget and he was able to come in under my budget. Im sitting here with tears of joy in my eyes because my car will be safe to drive and I can still buy groceries.I highly recommend this location and I will be back to have some other work done on my car in the future.As a person who has been resigned to just hand over their wallet when its time for automotive care, its nice to feel that Im not being taken advantage of.Every person I encountered was kind, fair and professional. I visited last week for an alignment consultation. I received this rather uneasy feeling and declined. Upon walking out the door. I was questioned by this person (who didn’t identify themselves) if I really wanted an alignment. He went on to ask if I could find a place to do the alignment cheaper and hounded next about it. My feelings are, if u have to approach a potential customer unprofessionally and further solicit my business, that’s just sad. Avoid this horror story. Take your vehicle to FIRESTONE in Pelham!!

Took my old work truck in to have the A/C looked at, and to have the rear lights checked because this Midas was convenient. The brake lights had a short and I didnt have time to track down the loose ground wire. I dropped off the truck and they called me the next day with an $1100 quote to fix the A/C and they didnt have the ability to fix the lights. They charged me $90 for the A/C diagnosis and I went on my way. Took to a local non chain repair shop and had everything fixed for $400. They didnt seem to be interested in fixing the lights due to me not wanting to spend $1100 for the A/C.

One axle brake service with appointment took 3 and half hours. They blame the part provider for brought them the wrong parts. Not to say the bait and switch trick they did. Kids were running around in the workshop!

They did not repair my car to working order, and damaged my engine during the process, costing me more repair work at another repair shop. I asked for a refund and was told the owner would call me and make it right. Hasnt happened. I do not recommend this facility to anyone.

Dirty and unkempt. Wouldnt know it was a national chain if not for the sign. Arrived for appointment to get oil change and tires rotated and was told it would STILL take 3 hours before it was even looked at. This seems unacceptable for someone that took the time to make an appointment. Was also told HAD to put higher priced oil in and couldnt do anything else. Have never been told that before. Walked out and had all done elsewere including lunch in less time than I would have waited. Wont be going back.

The worst experience i every had at a auto shop. Took my car there and it seemed to be worst after i got it back. All they did was take advantage of a woman and over charge me everytime i brought the car in . They charge me over 500.00 and the car still may break down. I was stranded 3 times and they didnt even care. They lost a valuable customer!! Dont take your car there unless you want a messed up car and a high bill.

I took my Ford F150 truck to Midas for a dual exhaust job. I ended up having to bring it back to this store in Hoover because they did a bad welding job on my dual exhaust when the work was performed . I took it back to them and the computer clearly says I had my dual exhaust performed at this location and the mechanic acted like he didnt have a clue what I was talking about. They tried to charge me 80.00 to weld my dual exhaust back on. If you want something done right dont take your car here. It is a waste of time.

I took my car there for an oil change and later after I got home the vehicle was leaking badly an I had to return it the next day. I returned it and when I returned home, the under cover where they changed the oil was hanging down. I returned the vehicle and they tied it up with straps.The same day my wife took her vehicle there and they forgot to put the air filter back into the vehicle. I just purchased one and I put it in. We decided we will not return to Midas.

Ill get to the reason for the 2 stars right away... i pretty much paid $ 1100 for a damn tune-up and had to return twice because there were problems from them that i had to bring back. so bottom line they overprice TERRIBLY . and they will mess other crap in your car up so you have to come back.
