We took our Jeep to AAMCO Hopkins on 10/22/2021. The mechanics made an accurate diagnosis for the source of the deafening hum we were experiencing on the road, and quickly made the needed fixes so that we can enjoy our trip up north this past weekend. Prices for the replacement parts were reasonable, AAMCO was very accommodating to our personal schedule despite it being a busy Friday, and it’s awesome that my family can finally hear each other again in the car! Also completed a CVT flush and received some honest input on the subject. We are all impressed by your fantastic service! :)

I want to start by saying the owner of this ammco is the best mechanic I have had touch my vehicle. When I contacted them I had just bought my truck and it was having issues right away. Transmission went out after 400 miles. He had me back on the road in 4 days. I have had 0 issues with the repairs and have driven 4000 miles on my new transmission and have been towing a 23foot camper. I can not tell you how much time and money I have saved. If you ever have a question they have an answer. Every technician that looked over my vehicle spotted the flaws and fixed them all for me. I wouldnt be driving my truck today without these guys! Straight up SCAM. Took my car here to get an oil leak fixed. Spoke with Jared on the phone and I said “looks like it should be an oil pan gasket re-seal” brought my car in and again I said “looks like it’s the oil pan gasket that’s leaking” They do the inspection and give me a call and said it’s the valve covers. I go “it’s not the oil pan gasket?” Jared: “no, oil pan gasket is fine” I paid $700 to get it done. Got my car back, still leaks oil. Bring it back to them, Jared: “looks like to complete this job the oil pan gasket should get re-sealed, gonna be another $325 to do that” Hmmmm, Is that not the gasket I stated in the first place? Is that not the gasket you earlier said was fine? Told me on the phone when I brought my car back that if they made a mistake they would fix it, yet they require the customer to be financially responsible for them re-sealing the wrong one? I said no. This was either just a complete scam from the get go, or they performed the most unethical upsell known to man. After spark plugs, an oil change, and a random 50.00 shop fee, I’m out $872 and my car still leaks the same amount of oil as it did when I first brought it in. If you are a consumer, I highly advise you take your car somewhere else, if you are Brad or Jared, I would be embarrassed. Beyond unacceptable and nowhere even close to professional.

I was having transmission issues with my Ram and I brought it to dodge and they wanted to charge me an arm and leg for service. I then called Jared at the Hopkins Aamco and he said he would look at it for much cheaper. Jared fixed my truck within a day and it’s driving great. I recommend Aamco to anyone who is looking for a professional and honest auto repair shop.

I have a Toyota Sienna AWD, was at another repair shop and they misdiagnosed the problem and wanted to replace my whole drive train, big dollar repair estimated $3800, so I got a second opinion from Jared here at AAMCO - Hopkins -it turned out to be a couple bearings, now van runs like new for less than 1/3rd the price, they also successfully fixed my 1988 Firebird which was also misdiagnosed by another local car repair outfit that cost me $350 dollars and they never fixed anything, had it towed to Jared at Aamco and he fixed it up right. Aamco Hopkins is further than I would like to come, because I live in St. Paul, but it is 100% worth my time and money to come here. 5 Star Satisfaction!!!

Ive been going to this place for quite some time. They are very honorable, fair, and knowledgeable. Jared definitely takes his time to explain whatever issue your vehicle is having and why the issue may have started; and to a level that the average person can understand. He outlines preventative measures to avoid similar issues down the road.Their prices are very fair, and they look for ways to try to save YOU money without compromising the quality of the work. They will not start a job that would increase your price without first getting your approval. Their financing options are excellent (most of it is 0% interest if you pay within a promotional period - usually 6 or 12 months depending on amount & your credit).Only thing a bit on the higher side would be synthetic oil changes. Since that is something fairly small, DIY or elsewhere might be better options. Outside of that this location is what every auto shop should strive to emulate!

They were really understanding of this, and that is an enormous help, especially if you are looking at costly repairs. They helped us to make an informed decision, and their work was outstanding. I stopped here for unrelated work and my vehicle needed some work done. The owner gave me a loaner and had my vehicular all fixed up within a day because I needed my vehicle for work to be ready. He kept me informed and got a lot of work done in a short amount of time. A+

I always bring my vehicle to the Hopkins location. I get excellent service and a basic no BS guarantee. I may pay a little more than other places, but I get straight up answers on what needs to be done and will require attention in the near future. Jared is a stand up guy and I would bring any vehicle I ever own to him and would recommend any one else do the same.

Jared and his team, at the Hopkins location, have been amazing since I have started going to them. I was referred by a friend and would not take my vehicle anywhere else. Very transparent and forthcoming with information about what was not working right in our van. We thought we had blown a transmission and it turned out to be a cam sensor and some other issues. They diagnosed it correctly and fixed it quickly and got us back on the road. Solid integrity.

I have been getting 3 vehicles serviced here for over 6 years now. Great service and fair pricing. Here is an example of how great and trustworthy Jared is. My windshield wipers quit working. I dropped my car off and Jared said it was probably a faulty motor and gave an estimate. Called me 20 minutes later and said it was just a loose bolt, no charge. There are no many places with that kind of integrity in this industry.

Brought our van in to get it ready to go to New Mexico. Expected a thorough check up. Was told it was good to go. Brakes checked? Yep. Squeak in front tire checked? Yep.Got to Taos. Brakes gave out. Had to get them replaced. Got to Nebraska and lost the front left tire. Just up and left us. Had to get spindles and a few other things replaced in front end. If we had lost tire twenty miles earlier, there would have been no shoulder and this would possibly had a much more tragic ending.

Happy I found this place. Trustworthy and they always to a great job! Everyone I have talked to their has always been super helpful. I will continue to use them even though its a 6 mile hike.

AAMCO hopkins MinnesotaBrought car in for an alignment rather than say he’s not capable of doing alignments he takes the appointment. Subcontracts the alignment out to who knows where, in the meantime trying to make a buck for himself fabricated an INCORRECT way to repair a crank seal leak (use sealant not mess with TIMING CHAIN) next day chain breaks on interference motor and Jerrod the crook has the balls to not only charge for $70 tow but wants $2200 to fix the motor. Mind you the “alignment” which he wasn’t capable of doing in the first place cost $1038 for him to permanently and irreversibly damage the motor on my car. I’ll be seeing him in court soon as I have no other options at this point all he does is lie and not take accountability, stay as far away as you possibly can.

My son has been going there for the past 2 years and have heard nothing but good things. Makes me feel better knowing he has a trusty place to go. Thx Aamco in Hopkins!

I will always bring my vehicles to aamco their service and experience is the best i have seen. I live an hour away and with the service and experience they have i have no problem with the drive. I have always had my vehicles back to me the next day. Ive had a transmission rebuilt and they had it back to me the following day. They are fast and great with there work havent had any reoccurring issues with them. Jared is very knowledgeable with his work and is always up front with you on what needs to be done. No bs. The transmission on our well maintained 2005 Ford Escape was acting up. The shop I always trusted said the tranny was in fact bad and would cost $5000 to $6000 to rebuild. They said it was better to try and sell or junk it.Then I called Aamco in Hopkins and talked with Jared. He was professional and knowledgeable. The rebuild came in around $3000 just as he estimated.I highly recommend Jared and the experts at Aamco Hopkins. I was happy to learn they also do most any car work.

I had really bad experience. I forgot the name of the manger in the store. But he was not nice at all. My vehicles transmission got problem, so I had it replaced in bur nsville store. Not a year yet, the transmissoin got problem again. But burnsville store was not there anymore. So I had to fix in this store. I asked if they had car to borrow me . The manger said no. They fixed it in 3 days, but the first day I got my vehicle, the transmission broke again. So I had to drove back next day to let them fix again. It took another 3 days to fix that. But unfortunately, it broke again in a week after I got my vehicle. I returned in again. They had to put a new transmission for me. But they told me my AC was broken, need to be fixed . I let them fix my AC, but it broke after 3 days. Then I turned in again, they fixed . Then its broke again in a week. So I called them, the manager was like I dont know why you turn you AC on in winter time, but I will tell you its not our problem, its your dash board got problem. I am so disappointing about AAMCO. I will never go back again.

They fixed my Dodge Dakota, I had brought it to another mechanic and a dealer to fix the problem and neither one could figure it out. These guys did though! Jared had a good idea where to start after I explained the problems I was having. They even waived the initial diagnostic test fee because I was a new customer. Turned out I had a bad cap and rotor which had caused my brand new spark plugs to go bad along with the O2 censor. They replaced the cap& rotor, spark plugs, o2 censor and the negative battery cable for $500. Which is reasonable for what mechanics charge in this area. (I came from a small town where labor is cheaper) anyone with a truck acting funny should take it here, Jared is worth his weight in gold with his truck knowledge!

I have called multiple days during business hours with no answer and left a message with no callback even after waiting 10 days for a response. I was just looking for a quote for some work to be done, something that would probably take 30 seconds to answer. This is very unprofessional and I will never consider this shop again. Instead Im going to another shop that gives a discount for Costco members (and has a better rating).

Initially I took my Cadi CTS to Key in Edina. After one misdiagnosis & over charge from Key Cadillac I started to bring my car to Jared. He has found and fixed every issue (electrical and simple) at a much better price. Great guy and mechanic.

Jared at Aamco is a real professional. Ive dealt with him both on a wholesale and retail level and in all dealings found the shop and him knowledgeable, easy to work with, and very reasonable on the pocket book. Ive had two to three transmissions rebuilt here and have had brilliant follow up on each occasion and a no hassles type approach to dealing with any warranty issues. On one of the units it was out of warranty by a decent amount of time and Jared/Aamco went above and beyond to take care of me which you dont find at many repair facilities anymore.I would and easily do recommend this shop for all your major driveline issues and know they do general service also which Im sure is top notch. Ive dealt with other transmission shops in the the past and none have come close to their speed, quality, and ease of use. A+ in my book!!!!!

An Aamco service rep repeatedly insulted me at my doorstep for rudely rejecting the $50 service punchcard he was pushing during a dinner hour door to door sales trip through my St. Louis Park, MN neighborhood. As I was setting the table to have dinner with my extended family and my wife fed our infant this gentlemen brazenly appeared at our door with a sales pitch. I told him I would not take his offer because he was putting me on the spot to make a decision at which point he took offense and argued with me. He was pushy, accusatory, and condescending, exactly what one should avoid from any services professional. I will never take a vehicle there, no price makes this service reasonable.

Not very often that you run across people like Jared, store manager. Helped me through a difficult situation with my warranty company even though he knew he wasnt likely getting the work. Ill take all my future transmission/transfer case/etc work to Jared!

I asked them to look my brakes when I brought my car in for a oil change and not even a month later I had no back breaks and was stuck in another state. They do not do a through job. Do not go to them!
