They gave us an estimate for the repairs. The repair was done in a reasonable amount of time. The car runs well now. We had never been there for service previously. We will go there again.

They looked at a squeaking belt for me did it within an hour of me calling. Found nothing wrong and didnt charge me. Excellent Ill be back

ALL VEHICLES GREAT AND SMALL! Absolutely the best mechanics in the Twin Cities - honestly anywhere IMHO !. I have been here two times now in the past year. The first time they replaced the front brakes on my 1999 Ford F-250 farm truck. (This truck had just been to my wifes mechanic and the brakes had been approved as ok - nope they failed completely while driving - completely rusted through !!!) Its a big job on an old rusty vehicle (brake lines are metal and need to be bent by hand to fit). Their worst case scenario estimate was lower than Bobby and Steves best case scenario estimate (The master cylinder was questionable and in the end did not need replacement). The truck was fixed that day and was on the low side of the estimate and very affordable IMO. The staff is extremely nice, smart, humble and funny (Thanks Jami and Lisa !). Today I dropped off my Moms 1999 Honda Civic for a timing belt/water pump replacement. The repair was done by 1 am from a 8:30 am drop off. The price out the door was again half of the Honda dealers estimate (The car needs its airbags replaced per recall and I was curious what they would charge). I really cannot say enough good things about this place. They are excellent in every way !! Thanks again Jami and Lisa !! I also wanted to add that my F-250 is a 3/4 ton pickup that several places would not service due to its heavy weight. The Honda is a compact car - this is an awesome stretch for a shop to deliver on ! Stay tuned for my follow up review. “All Autos Domestic and Foreign.”

After 20 years of using Hopkins Tire and Auto it is about time we weigh in. They welcomed us to this town in the dead of winter accurately diagnosing and fixing the brakes on our family suburban and kept it running until we had driven it 286,000 + miles. Hopkins repaired the used cars of 4 teen drivers and continue to repair our cars and provide tires to keep our cars running safely. We needed to find a repair shop today after we discovered a screw in our tire. We looked online and decided to try Hopkins Tire & Auto Service after reading the fabulous reviews online. We called to ask if they would be able to fix the hole since it wasn’t in the middle of the tire, and they had us text over a photo. They said they could fix it and got us an appointment in the afternoon of the same day! We pulled up and Jami took our car into the shop. Just a couple minutes later he brought it back out and had already fixed the tire! Our experience there was excellent and we will be using them for any other issues we have with our cars. We switched to this shop long time ago after some mixed experiences at other SW Metro auto repair establishments. Besides being competent, they are prompt, reliable and resourceful (they maintain a healthy ratio between in-stock and rapidly deliverable parts).A smooth generational transfer is happening -- slowly and successfully -- under our watch. Occasionally, one can find a special elsewhere that would beat their regular price on maintenance services but we value Hopkins Tire & Autos built-in inspection component so much that we dont pay much attention to others gimmicks.

I have been conditioned that anytime I cant fill a flat tire with air Im gonna be forced into buying a new set.. no matter the condition of the tires. Jami changed that for me today. Came into Hopkins Tire at a quarter to 5 and Jami jumped right on my flat tire. He gave me his analysis, replaced the valve, and with nothing more than a hand shake I was on my way. Ive been going to Hopkins Tire and Auto for over 20 years. Just had my car in again. This time for a window switch. The staff is always polite and friendly. They always ask before performing any work on my cars. They always have a quote at the ready. Work is performed timely. Never had a bad experience with them. Ive brought my car to Hopkins Tire & Auto twice now, once after bringing it to two other places without success in fixing the issue, and once when a different local shop quoted me $1600 for fixes that Hopkins Tire & Auto ended up charging me less than half that. In both cases, Hopkins Tire & Auto was able to fix my car within a very quick turn around time and at what I think is probably the best price id find around town by a large margin. Theyre also very great at communicating with me throughout the process and even disagreed with some fixes that another shop suggested, which saved me from spending money on unnecessary changes I would have otherwise paid for. Id recommend this shop to anyone and wont waste time with the other shops before going here in the future.

I brought my car in when I had a flat tire. Unfortunately, the tire could not be repaired, but instead of telling me I needed to buy new tires, they had a used one from the same model vehicle as I had and offered to sell it to me. It saved me a lot of money, as I was not yet ready to buy new tires. Also when I had my car in for an oil change, they saw I had a white rear light out, and automatically replaced it, charging only for the light bulb. There was no charge for the labor. I definitely recommend them!

I feel compelled to leave a review after having selected them based on their high rating. I brought my car in for some brake work. The owner quoted me at $200 over the phone and I agreed. During servicing the mechanic broke another brake line that needed to repaired. When I finally get my bill the quote DOUBLED to $400. I shouldnt have had to pay for damages caused by them. Period.

Dropped off my 2003 Volvo to check out gas smell and occasional RPM gallop. The guy didnt give any price, or have me sign anything and said Ill call you before I spend your money. Later I get a call telling me there are 2 issues that will cost about $2,000. I said we didnt want to put that into it. Then the owner calls back and tells me he knows these cars well. Says he drives a similar one with engine lights on for years with no problem. Then he offers me $400 for the car, minus the $250 I owe him for the diagnostics, basically researching 2 problems he knows is not worth fixing? I recommend you avoid them!
