Awesome service. I called about a used kids bike and they had one on hand. They set it aside for me so it was ready when I got there. The bike was in fantastic condition; it looks brand new. Easy fast check out which I appreciated because I had 2 small children with me. Staff was friendly with my kids even though they were a bit rambunctious (like small kids can be) cant wait for my child to use the new-to-her bike 🚲

My bike of 12 years became difficult to shift. 1.5 shifts to hit each gear, even after I thought I fixed it. Took it to Jonny Rock and they knew the problem immediately. It was done 2 days later and shifts better than it did new! Super cheap too!You can tell those guys do what they love. Incredibly friendly and honest. Would recommend 100%.

I needed a second hand stroller repair and Johnny Rock Bikes popped up as a suggestion. It has never wheeled so well! Not only that, it was repaired in a day and the price was a fraction of what I had intended to pay. I can only imagine how exceptional these owners are with bicycles!

I brought my 1986 Bianci mountain bike in to Jonny Rock after the fork and wheel got the worst end of a collision with a tree. The bike has sentimental value to me so wanted to see if it could be repaired. Jonny and team went the extra mile to find a hard to find replacement fork and fixed the wheel. All at a very reasonable price. Thanks Jonny and team..the store is appropriately named because JonnyRock bikes ROCKS!

I took my recently acquired vintage Peugot racing bike to Jonny Rock Bikes in Bloomington, for tires, a full maintenance check-over and a new seat. They were kind, so unlike most snotty bike shops, and they were quite familiar with old bicycles. My bike was done very quickly, and done right. This is a rarity in bike shops in the twin cities. Great job, reasonable pricing.

Seemed competent and flexible, but a tad condescending. Granted, Im not a biking enthusiast and confused the hub and the crank. But, thats not an excuse to try to upsell a full $200+ bike makeover to make it safe to ride when what I was looking was a tuneup on an old rarely used bike thats been reliable, even if not perfect.

Stopped by to look for bikes for my twin granddaughters. The experience was fantastic. Two perfect bikes were set aside for them to check out two days later. I didnt ask them to do that, they did that on their own. The staff took time to fit them and explain the bikes and how to best take care of them. And the price for the almost new bikes was surprisingly low.I also got information on their bike tune-ups. The price was also surprisingly low for the work that is included. I will be back!

Finally took my bike up to the bicycle shop today. They were so incredibly sweet and kind-hearted.One guy quickly determined what my problem was and said hed just fix it for free real fast and about 5minutes later my bike was back and in perfect riding condition.Didnt try to pressure me into buying any other services or equipment.Just said Well, thats my free fix for the day. Youre good to go.So my bike is riding perfect again😊Little things like this really give me hope in humanity.

I finally remembered to bring my city bike in for a tune-up during the off season. What was returned to me was amazing--fully tuned up and looking like new. I immediately went home and came back with my road bike that also needed a tune-up and new handlebar wrap. Unlike another chain bike store in town, the handlebars at Johnny Rocks were done meticulously and with great care. This bike tune-up was done quickly and was also returned to me in pristine shape. The prices are great and I got much better work and personalized service for less than what I have paid at another chain bike store (which always tries to upsell me on things I dont need). Happy to support a small, locally owned business.I highly recommend! 🚲

My derailleur snapped off on a ride, causing some serious damage to my bike, including twisting my back fender out of shape. The crew at Jonny Rock not only shipped in parts from California to replace the part that broke (and everything else that needed it) but HAND MOLDED my metal fender back into shape. I thought that fender was gone but they made it work. They also did a thorough cleaning on both my husbands bike (which he bought from the store a few years ago) and my bike. I recommend Jonny Rock to everyone I speak to for all of their bike needs!

Learned a lot walking into this bike shop. Bikes are in low supply right now but I was able to get a quality bike here that fit my needs. Also got a good deal on a Hiplok D bike lock under MSRP. Wouldve been $30 more on Amazon!

3 hours and $20 later, my bike was fixed. I brought my mountain bike in during peak repair season (early May) in desparate need for brake work. I was worried it would take a month plus based on what I had been hearing from other bike shops. They turned it around in 3 hours and for only $20. Great service.

I went to have my carbon fiber seat post cut down and they said they didnt have a blade couldnt order either lol you own a pro.shop and has no tools. I stopped there this week for swapping cassette and he told me the wheel not capable for 11 speed and I was about to leave. He double checked and he said oops sorry. He put it in for me. The guy that helps John there no nothing about bike at all. Dontwaste your time to go there.g

These guys are the BEST bike shop around. With working full time and working on my second Masters Degree. I usually do not have time to do reviews. I bought a second hand bike from them last year and have ridden this thousandths of miles. The deralier, went out on it this spring and I brought it in to them and I am still BLOWN away on what kind guys they are. I do not have much expertise in biking but they immediately do not treat you any different. I have throughly come to enjoy biking so I bought my husband a bike three weeks ago and it is GORGEOUS!!🙂

This place is great! I brought my 33 year old Schwinn dad bike in for a tune and a safety check. These guys fixed it up proper and corrected some major safety issues. My bike is now smoooooth like butter! Everything is dialed in just right. The price was fair and they didnt try ot over-sell me on anything. I also appreciate the peace of mind knowing that Im riding a safe bike with my little one. They had everything done in a day. I didnt even realize until I got home that they removed the ugly dork disk when they changed the cassette. Will definitely be back!

The people at Jonny Rock Bikes are life savers! Every bike shop in the metro including them are backed up with repair jobs. My girlfriend and I have a big ride this weekend as the MS 150 has gone virtual. I took my girlfriends bike in last minute as it was experiencing issues with shifting and braking. They were able to fit in and got it done the same day! The quality of work is awesome and the customer service was great! They saved our ride! I will be back for sure!

One of our kids’ bikes had a bent derailleur. One of the bike shop employees very quickly repaired it at the curbside. Did a great job, was kind, and despite my insisting, he didn’t charge me any money. I would highly recommend and will patronize again.

Incredible customer service! My husband passed away a couple years ago and I wanted to sell his bike. I had no idea how to value the bike and its accessories nor what to say in an ad. Someone suggested that I call Jonny Rock Bikes. Jon could not have been more helpful. I took his advice and the bike sold in less than a day. All of this help and I had not done any business with him. I and my daughters family will be Jonny Rock customers from now on!

Super quick service (within 1 or 2 hours dropped my bike and repairs done for tires and hub skewer). Safe Covid practices. Honest assessment by Jonny of potential issues where I, a person not as knowledgeable on bikes didnt know where to start. Prices seemed fair and quite reasonable as well.

I purchased a refurbed bike from Johnny last year and it is a lemon! One would imagine that a rebuilt bike might function upon purchase but this bike had more than 8 flat tires in 3 months and half dozen spokes I kept giving them opportunities to fix, but all he did was give me free labor and an attitude as I continued to spend money on parts and express my frustration on a bike that I couldn’t ride.I finally had enough and left, brought my business to another store and replaced the inoperable wheels Johnny put on this bike. As it turns out, the brakes that were on this bike weren’t even the right size and were causing additional issues with the tires. You are better off going to a bicycle graveyard and building your own bike rather than to trust this shop.

Great service, I was looking for a hybrid commuter bike to get to work, and also take on the greenway. Jon and his staff were thoughtful, helpful, and professional, he went through a couple price points and I was able to find one that was a good fit for my budget. I never felt he was trying to upsell me, and answered all my questions. Reasonable prices and explained some useful tips about regular bike maintenance, transport, and care. Included a test drive before I bought it too. I am very excited to start riding this bad boy.

True bike shop. They carry the bikes that all the others dont. The guy was obviously enthusiastic about biking and had a ton of stock. He gave me some quick info, once he asked what I was looking for, then just let me look. Prices seemed good on the fat bikes and full suspension that I was looking at. Definitely check it out before buying anyplace else. Ill be back here when its time for a full suspension.

We came in looking for an affordable bike for a ten year old, nothing fancy yet since hes at an age where hell either outgrow it or destroy it pretty quickly. The staff were VERY helpful and found us something perfect, a good bike that was still within our budget.They seem to have a wide variety of new and used and different levels of quality. Whether you need a top notch daily vehicle, just a disposable bike for your kid to play around on, or something in between Im sure the staff here will listen to your needs and find you something perfect.

After buying what seemed like a sweet used bike for almost $300, I soon realized that it was not a good fit and returned to exchange it 3 days later (just as the sales clerk advised me when I tested it out).Unfortunately, when I came back, the manager/owner gruffly told me that I could not return or exchange the bike. In an almost mean-spirited (and certainly not customer-friendly) way, he finally agreed to let me exchange it for store credit.However, he immediately began showing me bikes in the $500+ price range and basically said take it or leave it. Not wanting to lose $300, I pressed him to show me less expensive bikes--he said he didnt have any. This was patently false, as Id been shown many used bikes, just a few days earlier (two of which they were closed).He basically coerced me into buying a bike for almost $600 (with tax) and I left dissatisfied and poorly-treated. This couldve easily have been an easy, friendly transaction but instead I was treated rudely and dismissively. The entire experience was demeaning.I would encourage anyone who buys a bike here to BEWARE. The owner is a jerk. Once he has your cash, youll be out of luck if anything goes wrong with your bike.A terrible experience. I waited almost month to write this so that the anger would go away but I still feel awful about it.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. Prices for tune ups and repairs are very reasonable and they get them done quickly. I am newer to biking and the guys here are way cooler with answering my questions. Ive had some bad experiences at the big name stores where the associates are just plain condescending. Was shopping around for a bike and didnt wind up buying one here because I didnt fall in love with one. Reviewing to note staff were very courteous and friendly and showed me a variety of bikes in my price range and matched to my ability level/type of bike I wanted. Great little shop just off the trail in Hopkins. You can tell the owner really loves what he does. Efficient, friendly service and reasonable prices. The first time I went in my dad (who is an avid rider) was with me and when we left I believe his exact quote was, thats my kind of bike guy. Today, I took my bike down to go for a ride and had a flat tire. Popped in with the bike, they dropped what they were working on, diagnosed the problem, and got me a new tube for a couple bucks. I was on my way in five minutes.

Purchased a used Giant Hybrid bike last week from Jonny Rock Bikes. The owner was kind enough to hold the bike for a day so I could come and look at it when there were others, as well, interested in the bike. The bike was exactly what I was looking for. Next time I am in the market for a bike.. be it new or used, I will know where to go!

Love Jonny Rock Bikes! I had a last minute idea for a Fathers day gift for my husband. He has an old 1980 something Schwinn Voyageur that has been sitting in our garage ever since I met him, over twenty five years ago. Every time we clean out the garage I admit I tried to get him to get rid of the bike as it was un-ridable and had never been ridden as long as I knew my husband. My husband would agree but as he would roll it to the curb for the garbage he would get all nostalgic and say he just couldnt do it as he had put thousands of miles on the bike and hoped to one day ride it again. So this year I dug my husbands VERY old road bike out of the rafters and brought it to Jonny Rock Bikes on the Tuesday before Fathers day to see if anything could be done to the bike to make it rideable again.They were amazing, not only did they refurbish it, they got it done so that I could actually give it to him for Fathers Day; and, my husband loved the red handlebar tape that Jon picked out and put on the bike to match the retro red lettering on the bike!

Had some repairs done to my bike and I found JRB to be prompt and reasonably priced. I will certainly be going back.

I first visited JRB some years back when they were just starting out (i think they were even at a different location just a bit further up the road). I was immediately impressed with the attentive service and pricing. I assumed at that time it was because they were new and were desperate for customers. I have been there a few times since for minor things and they continue to impress. I have since moved out of Hopkins and live much closer to other shops but will make the journey because i believe JRB has earned my business and deserve the $$$.
