Just bought a great used vehicle from Connor at Walser and the process was easy and smooth and no pressure or sales pitches. They even delivered our new car to our door!Alex, the manager was especially great… went the extra mile to make sure all our questions were answered and shuttle set up while they did some touch up work for us. She got back to us quickly on some info we wanted for our records and found our second key fob (the car had been sold w only 1 fob!)And, she was just kind. Definitely a great experience all around.
Had to get a new engine through their service department. The service tech almost never responded to my questions. I have screen shots of my texts being completely ignored. My car sat for three months waiting on an engine. I didn’t end up getting it back until the end of October after dropping it off in the beginning of august. It sat for an extra month because the technician hugged someone with COVID and they never offered me a rental until a couple days before it was finished. The engine I was quoted at $4,640 dollars but they ended up charging me $4,800 dollars. Also, on top of all of this I had to pay an extra 300 after they made me pay for labor twice to install a starter they never tested before putting back on my car. I won’t ever take another vehicle there again
Just purchased a new to me vehicle last night - 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Our salesperson, Phil Harris, was beyond exceptional. From taking over who we had an appointment with, test driving vehicle, trade-in process, etc. He even took the time to put in new mats we purchased. Top notch, super friendly and very knowledgeable! My Grand Cherokee is leaking coolant near the engine. Called today (Nov 3) for an appointment to have it inspected. Call center agent was running triage and said sorry, but the earliest we will get you in is January. 2 months? Thats ridiculous. Headed elsewhere for future car buying and service.
After having a couple of very negative experiences with Sales Associates at other dealerships to look for a Jeep, I was leery about going forward to get a new vehicle. Then I met Alex and Ruby at Walser Chrysler Jeep. They were incredibly helpful, upbeat, able to answer all my questions (and not just telling me what they thought I wanted to hear), and were very thorough in making sure I had the exact Jeep I wanted. When I went to pick it up they both spent a lot of time going over all the details with me to make sure I was satisfied. My car had broke down and the engine ceased. I just put money into the car and was frustrated but there was nothing I could do about that. I went in and met with Emerson. He was very understanding, didnt want to rush me into anything and we looked at cars. My previous vehicle was a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was great until the very end. I was looking for a new Ram 1500, called the dealership and got ahold of Jesse Swanson. He was very polite and knowledgeable. Any question I had he had the answer to. He pulled up a couple trucks for my wife and I to look at and was very patient while we decided on one. Once we picked out a truck, he got us the best trade-in offer and sped us right through the paper work process. He was never pushy when it came to aftermarket warranties or products, and only showed us what made sense to us. I’ve never had such an easy and streamlined experience when buying a vehicle. First let me just say it was a pleasure working with Matt B. Everything else that happened after was HORRIBLE. I have been trying to get this dealership to send me a check for the vehicle they purchased from me for over a month. They lack communication - I was told several times that they would call me back and 99% of those times I have had to call them to follow up. Not only that, it was ridiculously difficult to get a manager or their DM on the phone. I was told they had lost my documents, but will still send the check to me. I still have not received my check. This is extremely frustrating. You would think they would be more attentive to this matter when theyre the ones who LOST my documents!! Very poor customer service! Im still waiting for another manager to call me (once again) to provide me with an update.

Recently bought a used Chevy pick-up from this location.Our salesperson was friendly and responsive. The financials of our purchase went fine - no issues out of the ordinary there.Unfortunately, our experience working with the sales manager and GM was terrible.We received incredibly misleading information from the sales manager to speed up the sale, followed by a complete unwillingness to work with us in a reasonable manner to have an independent mechanic inspect the vehicle pre-purchase.Our interactions with the GM Nick Underwood were laughable. A lot of lip service with zero follow through. The overall lack of internal communication and Nicks failure to follow through on things created an extremely frustrating and drawn-out post sale experience.Id look elsewhere if you are in the market for a used vehicle, are looking for a positive buying experience, and want to feel like a valued customer. You will not get that here, in our experience.
My car broke down on the side of the road the day I got it - my home dealership said they would pay for the coil repair. They told Walser to ONLY do that repair - nothing else. Walser continued to fix the coil, put new spark plugs in AND clean the fuel system without authorization. When I get there to pick up my car I get a $888 charge that I thought my dealership was paying for. My dealership said they were only paying for the coil which was $368 - which is what they told Walser to do. The other $500 from the repair that was NOT authorized came out of my wallet. I am a University of Minnesota student who cannot afford this. Extremely unacceptable. Why would you continue to repair something when you specifically got told not to? I would give zero out of five stars if I could.

I bought/ financed a vehicle from here a few year ago and had a wonderful experience ( different general manger then ) so when my husband and I wanted to upgrade we came back! Our sales rep was fine but the process following was not! We got approved, provided all the requested verification : check stubs, proof of address etc.... signed all our documents, title paper work, service contract etc....paid our $3,000.00 down payment etc....we were not able to leave with our vehicle (and did not receive our vehicle for a week! )A couple of days went by and we asked why we couldnt have our vehicle and was told we would basically be driving a free vehicle and it was illegal to give it to us without them receiving funds from their in house lender !!!! And we kept being told they were waiting on Capital One ! I felt like we were getting the run around so I called a different walsher and explained my concerns and they were confused why we didnt get our vehicle the day we signed everything and especially if we did not use an outside lender !!!!! Then when they delivered the vehicle it only had a 1/4 tank of gas....the GM says they only fill up new vehicles....the last vehicle I bought the sales rep filled it up ( it was used and when I test drove it, it only had 1/4 tank of gas ) then let me leave the same day....the quality of service has really declined here and the lack of empathy and nonchalant attitudes .Next time we upgrade we will shop else were

Manager made me feel like a criminal for not agreeing to allow them to pull my credit when I had financing arranged with my own bank. They made us provide a screenshot of our FICO score in order to close the deal. Asked me multiple times if I had the money in my account to cover the check I was writing them. Completely unacceptable. They had no business need to do an inquiry on my credit. They also tried telling me I was practically “stealing” the vehicle because I’d be driving back to South Dakota and leaving them with nothing. Not true, as they had my check, copy of my license, insurance and I was also making a trade. I offered to wire the money and they told me that “wasn’t instant”. I truly believe they were trying to make me finance with them as they wouldn’t even look at the credit app acceptance letter my banker emailed them. If I hadn’t just drove 4 hours and sat in their dealership for another 2 hours, I would not have purchased. This was at their Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership in Hopkins, MN.

Bought a 2018 Ford Explorer from WCJD in mid-August, with Connors help, and was very impressed with the whole experience. This is my 4th Explorer but the 1st one that Ive not purchased from a Ford dealer. WCJD was excellent from start to finish, working with me to get the vehicle delivered in time for my weekend trip (1st test drive on a Wednesday evening!), accommodating a glitch with my finance company, and doing their best to resolve a repair issue discovered after delivery. Absolutely would buy from them again!

I was working with Phil (sales) and Zach (sales manager). I called them early on Wednesday, they just had a vehicle reach there lot, I called, said I will take it, wrote up a purchase agreement and was told it was no longer up for sale and as soon as it got out of inspection they would give me a call. Monday morning of the next week comes around and I get a call from them telling me the vehicle sold on Saturday to someone else.
Serviced my 97’ Cherokee with Walser and the team was great. Brandon in service got the work done in a timely matter and kept me updated.
I got about 5 email offers on my used car and I decided to take one to upgrade my vehicle. 3 days no contact. So I submitted a test drive form online and was contacted pretty quickly. After back and forth texts I asked for some more photos as the vehicle I inquired about was stock. The sales rep said they would get me them that night and nothing. I waited until 11am the next day to ask again (my test drive was supposed to be at 2). I didnt hear anything until 1pm that the vehicle wasnt on lot and would be going up in price because of upgrades. I asked if there were any other vehicles similar and its now after 2pm (the time I scheduled an at home test drive) and I heard 0 response from the dealer. Really sad about this as I have bought my first vehicle from Walser and Jesse was amazing. As I am typing this I finally got a response... 212pm (past the scheduled test drive time).
Jesse Swanson is a very caring and passionate salesperson! From the moment he drove the truck to my work to show me and test drive to when we sat down and went over all the details and purchase agreement! He suggested all other items from rust protection to pain protection! The entire process was done professionally and without any pressure. The dealership as a whole is very friendly and professional. Im currently shopping for a Jeep Wrangler, and was looking online, and came across a one owner 2014 Jeep Wrangler, although there were no pictures posted, since it was going through the shop for inspection.I emailed the staff for information, they sent me a video right away, awesome customer service! (thank you Ryan P. and Emily D.)I didnt go with it, since that red was to bright for me and it didnt have running boards, but still wonderful service. I cant even imagine how they would treat you in person. I definitely recommend checking them out.

We are more than an hour out of town from Walser and purchased late on a Friday night. Our financing was confirmed on Monday. She then delivered our car on Monday afternoon as a courtesy. WOW! So appreciate of the entire experience!
Terrible experiences over the years. Example #1: Was told I needed to replace my brake pads (4mm left). I delayed and went back a year later and was told my brakes were fine (6mm left). Pretty sure my brake pads didnt grow. Example #2: Ordered a custom part (because Jeep finally acknowledged it was defective) 19 months ago and was never given an update on the order. Photos of the vehicle were required and had them taken by the dealership. I called 3 months later for a status and they had no idea what I was talking about, so I had to go back in for photos and to start the process all over. That happened a second time as well. A year later they called and asked if I stilled owned the vehicle because they were going to order the part. Really. 6 weeks ago I called and was told the part should arrive any day now. Today I called and was told the part # had been cancelled by Jeep and wouldnt be available to order for another 51 weeks! Remember, this is a part Jeep acknowledged as defective and is supposed to be replacing at no cost to me. Notice I called every time, the dealership never proactively told me anything. More examples, but Id just be boring you all. Stay away.

My opinion of Walser Hopkins is decidedly mixed, so I had read a number of reviews left by others. Most were 5-star raves, reflecting the satisfaction one feels in getting the right car at a fair price from solid sales staff. About 1 out of 10 were 1-star, generally based on a lack of communication and broken promises.My experiences were somewhere in the middle, so 3-stars seems fair. Our initial foray was in commencing a 3-year lease in 2018 and it went well, 4-star, just fine. Things started to go south about one month later, when we tried to schedule a repair to the rear door (our own fault) and were forced to wait 3 weeks to get it serviced. We soon learned the service department was routinely backed-up, whether for oil changes or other routine requests. Didnt matter, it always took weeks to get in. When we did, the service desk personnel were less-than-friendly as a rule.About 2 years into the deal, Walser emailed us every few weeks about ending our lease early. Liking the Jeep, we declined each time, but Walser persisted with emails. Annoying, but we understood the used car market desperately lacked vehicles like ours, so fine. But even after I emailed back that we would prefer to be left alone, the messages kept coming. When we brought the Jeep in for its end-of-lease inspection about 2 months early, the salesman, Bob Waterloo, did the math on our early return, noting Walser would buy us out of any remaining payments. (I would note, here, we mistakenly drove into the service bay for the inspection and were curtly informed we had erred. Bob came running over to move the car. Our mistake, but we were treated very rudely, as though we were an intrusion on her day.)We even arranged for the lease of a new 2021 Jeep. Things fell apart the day we scheduled to exchange the new and old cars. On a Saturday, about an hour before the scheduled 11 am pick-up, Walser called and said Chrysler had issued a recall for the 2021 Jeep. This would take some time, but we could get the car next Tuesday. 3 days? WTH? No one could complete a 2 or 3-hour computer check in less than 3 days? We told Walser to forget it - certainly someone else would take our money. Which they did.Bad as all this was, Walser did make us whole for the last month when we brought the 2018 Jeep in a month early, and they repaid us most of the glass damage Chrysler billed us (and Walser failed to tell us about after the inspection) in a surprise invoice. While we will not likely return to Walser, we can appreciate their attempt to do the decent thing after a number of lapses, so we wish them only the best.
Great selection of vehicles and service. Kyle Biser ( salesman) was very helpful in purchasing of new truck. He answered any questions or concerns we had during the purchasing process.

SERVICE DONE RIGHT! I was out of town (from Chicago) and was in Minneapolis last week. I had a problem with my Grand Cherokee where the Service Engine light came on. I diagnosed the problem myself, and found that I had an intake valve that was stuck in the up position. Not good when I was planning to drive the vehicle 420 miles back home.I called Walsers Service Dept. and described my problem. JayC (Service Advisor) was unbelievably understanding of the situation and asked that I bring my car in right away. Walser took me back to my intended destination so I did not have to take an Uber or anything.The following day they looked at my car, communicated the cost to repair, and continued to communicate with me seemingly continually about the progress on my service, sent me a diagnostic video from their technician, and then called me to tell me my vehicle was ready to be picked up (on time, as promised). They then called me to ask what time I wanted to be picked up to be driven back to Walser to pick up my vehicle.When I arrived to pick up and pay, the vehicle was spotless (I had bugs all over from the long drive up from Chicago) and it was waiting for me right in front of the service desk.In all my years of driving, I have NEVER been treated this well by ANY dealer ANYWHERE! No joke! The people I was dealing with knew I was an out-of-towner and would not likely be a repeat customer - even more impressive. Jeremy Wahlstrom (Service Manager) and his team have an outstanding system for servicing customers and they executed flawlessly.I can think of MANY companies who could take a lesson or two here! I would highly recommend this dealership based on my service experience alone. Thanks to the Walser team who were involved in my outstanding experience. I will never forget it and will tell everyone I know up in the Cities area about your fine dealership .

One of the smoothest and quickest process I’ve ever witnessed. Growing up, I’ve always went to dealerships with my parents whenever they purchased new vehicles and I remember them being an all day event. That was not the case here. I came in, found what I wanted, did the paperwork, and got out of there with my new vehicle in less than 3 hours.I had many questions throughout the process, but John was able to give me answers to every single one of them which was great.Additionally, I really like the social distancing measures put in place here. All masks required, no handshakes, hand sanitizer, distant tables, etc.Also, the receptionists were great. Extremely welcoming and professional.Highly recommend this place!

Went to look at a used car; called ahead of time and confirmed it was available, salesperson said hed have the keys ready for us. Got there 30 minutes later, waited 30 minutes for sales. When he came out, he had keys in his hand and said it had taken a while to find the keys and now he had to go to a remote lot to get the car. 15 minutes later, he came out (key still in hand) and said it had been sold and not entered in the books. Then proceeded to try to offer us alternative vehicles for $6-$10K more than the one wed came to see.The used car salesman stereotype seems to be alive at this location.

My wife and I could not have had a better experience at the Walser dealership in Hopkins. We came in over the weekend and had a great experience working with Donya, she broke down all the details about the car we were purchasing and overall was so helpful and pleasant to work with. My wife ended up going back a few days later needing help with some of the interior settings. When she walked in Donya immediately remembered her by name and helped her figure out the issues she was having. We are so appreciative of all the help we received and the amazing customer service. In June, I got a Toyota RAV4 from Walser CJD in Hopkins. My sales person was Luke San Hamel and he did such an excellent job. I was in a bad situation with my lease and he turned my bad situation into a positive; he also found the car that I wanted within 24 hours. After my lease, getting a new vehicle scared me; however, Luke helped me throughout the whole process and made it a wonderful experience. Luke is knowledgeable, very nice, and will make sure that you are getting a vehicle that is best for you/your situation. I would highly recommend Luke to family and friends.
I cant say enough good things about this dealership. I was looking to replace my 2014 Rubicon for the 2021, and David Barrera knocked it out of the park. He knew the vehicle, was able to answer all of my questions (and I can get pretty specific), and was just a great guy to work with. Will, the general sales manager, gave me a great price on my trade, the price was super competitive on the vehicle, and theyre dog friendly; cant get much better than that. This was, by far, the best buying experience Ive had. Thanks to the whole team at Walser for everything.
