Was a really nice hybrid between casual and upscale. We were lucky to get a table after Astros last Friday.Party of four, we ordered a prosciutto pizza and truffle fries to start. Fries were on point nice and hot not overly seasoned on the truffle side.Pizza was an absolute surprise. Amazing thin soft yet crunchy crust. The sauce was so flavorful, was like a really light tomato basil that would go on a pasta. My wife has the Cast Iron Roasted Texas Shrimp Salad. It looked really good, no lettuce just other veggies. Nice change up.I had the Berkshire Pork Chop and I was so happy with this choice. Haven’t enjoyed a dinner out like that in quite awhile. Pork chop was hot, tender, and the peppercorn lacquer was a game changer. Sitting on basically mashed potatoes was the perfect combo.Had 2 espresso martinis which just rounded off everything perfectly. This is a hell of a date spot.
Great place to eat with friends and family. Very chic restaurant but comfortable enough for children. The menu had many options. We ordered the prosciutto pizza and salmon salad. Both were exquisite. The attention was 5 ⭐️. Thanks to julieta for taking care of us. It’s about a 1 min walk from the stadium. We will definitely come again. @priscillamiami
Great location and beautiful decor along with smiling staff welcome you to this popular place for before and after game meals and drinks. Location also makes it a hotspot for those staying downtown that want something a little different than big chain restaurants and over the top boutique eateries. Friendly and comfortable here. Our appetizer and entrées were served promptly and the menu is not extravagant but has good quality usual American fare. Stop in if you are on Texas Ave.
Wonderful experience! My husband got a pepperoni pizza which was a thin foldable crust with high quality cheese and toppings. I got the Italian Chopped salad with chicken which was fantastic with the perfect amount of each ingredient. They were busy, but our server didnt make us feel rushed and was very attentive. We cant wait to go back!
The food was really good. Our crew of seven ate everything put in front of them. Unfortunately, it took over 45 minutes after we ordered to get our food. The restaurant was a little busy due to the Astros game, but it was Monday night, and we got there after the restaurant was emoting out. What we werent expecting was the bill. Each of our teas got a refill and we were charged for each tea. The lemonades and Sprite refills were not charged extra. Our group of 7 was charged a 20% gratuity. Thats not an unlikely amount we would tip, but I think its outrageous a restaurant would charge us as a standard amount.
Ate here a couple years ago on a business trip and it was pretty good. Staying at the same hotel across the street this time so went back and it was just awful. Was told to seat myself in the bar area and then just sat there for 15 minutes without being served until I had to actually get up and ask if anybody was going to help me. I did get a server who was okay but I really feel like put in the minimum effort, didnt grab me a menu until I asked and even then didnt bring me a drink menu until I asked for that too. Ive worked as server, I know how to give good, friendly service and this was not it. I ordered the cast iron ribeye, which I knew was probably a risk at $26 and that risk did not pay off what so ever. What was delivered to me was a grey, sad looking steak with literally no crust at all. If this thing was really cooked in a cast iron it was definitely not a hot pan because this was not seared even a little bit. It was at least cooked to medium rare, but was pretty low quality with lots of inedible gristle and connecting tissues. Really would recommend eating anywhere besides here.
Stumbled upon this place by chance. It was awesome! Had a cheese pizza as an appetizer and the Texas Shrimp. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food as well. We ended with a small piece of yummy cheese cake. I will definitely be going back.
Pretty good food. They gave a military discount. Had the pizza and something else but my eyes were bigger than my appetite.Service was excellent. My wife surprised me with an early birthday dinner prior to attending the Disney feature at the Houston Symphony and they took great care to set out table for our reservation. Even while we were waiting the manager stopped by to see if we were being helped. They even gave my daughter a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Made reservations after the Astros game for dinner. Ordered the truffle fries, lasagna bolognese, and chicken picatta. Debated on a pizza however the waitress said the picatta was her favorite and its a known favorite item. The fries were ok, nothing spectacular. The Bolognese was good and you can taste the red wine in the sauce. The chicken picatta was creamy with bits of herbs and capers. It was not the traditional picatta and I did not like the flavor. After a bite of the chicken picatta and the bland linguine, I ordered the margarita pizza. It took some time because they were busy however I thought the pizza was the best tasting item that we ordered. Crisp, thin pizza with a balanced sauce and cheese. I dont think we would return here since there are so many other restaurants that offers better tasting options.
Poor service, food is not good either! We actually moved from bar to dining room to try to get better service. That did not really happen. They were attentive in the beginning, but no one ever came back to fill waters. Drinks were sugar sweet, even after requesting to make it 1/2 the sweetness as normal. The pizza was wet, undercooked. There are some great restaurants down here this is just not one of them.
Three stars are not bad in my opinion. The food was okay. We had different dishes and there was nothing bad, but nothing that made it stand out either.
A nice clean place with good customer service
The food was good but the service was really bad. We waited 30 minutes for two appetizers, I’m pretty sure our waitress forgot to ring them up. She then charged the check for the table next to us to our credit card. No manager ever came to apologize or explain what happened.
Super friendly staff and very welcoming.
This place has decent food service. I had a feeling that maybe our waitress and the staff were new, because they didn’t know much of the menu. They looked like they were all over the place, running to take orders and waiting tables. When it came to ordering, we wanted something vegan/pescatarian but there weren’t many options. So we went with a salad that had shrimp. There were no pictures so I assumed it would be a good size plate. When it came, it was the tiniest salad I had ever seen. And it was $19!!! I couldn’t return it and finally I asked the manager if we could at least get a regular house salad because it wasn’t enough. Definitely an OVER-priced salad for three pieces of sliced tomates, 1/3 of an avocado, 3 slices of radish and some small pieces of cucumber and 3 shrimp.Honestly, I don’t mind paying food that is that price, but at least make it a medium sized salad. Not like in the picture..Besides that, they had good pasta dishes.
Great food, excellent service and great location- near Minute Maid park in downtown. The drinks were great too. Caprese salad (no pic) was not all it was promised to be but the rest of the food was delicious. I definitely recommend the meatballs appetizer and Shrimp Linguine entree. Overall a good experience!
Great food. Drinks were awesome and manager was so friendly and helpful. Walked in said i have to potty and he showed me the way. Didnt know he was the manager til later. I really loved this place.
Well Ill start with the good. The environment and decor were nice but it stopped there. I started my order with the calamari. The overall presentation was less than desirable, if I hadnt skipped breakfast and lunch I would have turned it away. The lack of actual calamari was disappointing and the dull flavor was begging to be dipped in anything to make it bearable. The main course of chicken picatta was only a slight improvement over the appetizer. Im a bit bewildered at the fact that my order came out so quickly yet it seemed like it was sitting out for at least 45 minutes. If they had placed it in the microwave before bringing it out I wouldnt have been as disappointed. It did have enough flavor to satisfy my taste but Im glad I went here on my own. This would have been a disappointing experience to have brought any guest to.
I had made reservations for dinner here a little over two weeks ago for my Bachelorette party. On the day of my get together my friend and I arrived first and the hostess told me I didnt have a reservation. I asked maybe they put it under a different name and she was a bit rude when I asked her questions. I was getting upset because I had a large group coming. Luckily the manager/supervisor stepped in and was able to put a table together for me and my guests. The drinks and food were good. Service was off. Our waitress was nice and doing the best she could but I dont know what was going on with this restaurant. I was hoping to have my wedding dinner there but after my first experience I think maybe we should go somewhere else. Maybe we might come back in the future to give them a second chance....
The service, the food (taste and quality), the prices and the location make this one of the best restaurants to visit in Downtown Houston! Located just steps away from Minute Maid Park! Damaris was so professional and polite that it made our experience better than exceptional! I will definitely recommend to friends and associates, but will surely be returning here soon. Whether Im attending an Astros game or not, lol. Please keep up the awesome work!👍🏿
We went for restaurant week and everything was really good. Seared ahi tuna with corn risotto and chicken picatta were a hit with the grown ups and our 13 year old loved the meatball rigatoni (the marinara sauce was delicious). The caramel cheesecake was awesome for dessert. Look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!
The vibe from this place was amazing! I ordered their strawberry waffle and black berry sangria and both were delicious (p.s. alcoholic drinks are strong). I also got to taste the pepperoni pizza and it was also delicious! Super flavorful! Service was average but I would come here again.
Always listen to the waiters recommendations, loved the experience. The food was immaculate. Would definitely go again.
Didnt know they had a table limit. We were rudely escorted out of our chairs so they can accommodate a larger party.. we werent finished ordering. Service was rushed.. not a place you can go to relax.. more like get in, get out and make way for people they value more. Food was decent.. drinks were OK. Place was super cute and cozy.
The staff is wonderful. The atmosphere is sporty but the posh overpriced underflavored menu doesnt match. I dined in with a large group the first time and ordered take out the second. The cake was a very small piece but tastier than the entrees.
We had reservations at 12:30 on an Astros game day with a 2:30 first pitch. When we entered I heard the host tell someone that the wait was 40 min to 1 hour, our reservation was honored and we were seated immediately. Service was fantastic despite them being short handed. They obviously have a team service policy because we were helped in some capacity by just about every employee that passed our table. Well managed with great brunch options. The berry sangria was fantastic, calamari was crisp and light. Great experience.
Amazing and wonderful to visit. Even though they were packed and we did not have a reservation, they seated us right away. The service was excellent and to food was as well.
A trendy, friendly restaurant/bar near the Minute Maid Park. A one page food menu, easy to choose from, and all tasty and savoury (definitely needs beer to go along that). More comfort food than a upscale restaurant. Inside can get bit cold (powerful AC). The outdoor terrace is a nice place to people watch on a game night.
Such an amazing experience, came here for a small evening brunch on the weekend with some friends, didn’t make a reservation, yikes, but the staff was very friendly and got us a table. Our waiter was a sweetheart she helped us with picking our food, which is absolutely amazing and delicious highly recommended.
I really liked the vibe of this place, its like a fancier olive garden but it still feels really homey. The food surpassed my expectations, it was so good. Service was pretty good too, didnt take too long and the staff was very nice. Highly recommend!
First time toneat here and will be my last time. Service on the patio was not good at all. We had to remind the server 3 times about items we didnt recieve that we initially ordered. We finally gave up when he showed up just to drop the check and leave. We did have to ask him to correct the ticket and remove items not recieved. Maybe 20 customers here to have this bad of service.
Cute spot, good food, cools its owned by the Astros owner
Gave it another shot and the new manager Joel has done a good job improving service for sure. Service was prompt and food was great as always. I created my own margarita using their ghost pepper tequila and it was awesome.Prior:Overall a good experience. The place has a cool after work bar scene and good area for it. The food and drinks were 5 star for sure and I highly recommend the pizza. The service for as few tables were seated was a bit substandard though. The food came out relatively quick but drink refills and paying the bill took forever. Definitely a spot Ill hit up again when hanging in downtown.
Amazing! In short the service even on this very busy Easter was amazing. The entire staff there was great, especially my waiter! I felt like they cared that was a patron! Not to mention the food was fantastic and seasoned to perfection. I had the Banana Nut French Toast and the presentation and taste were the biggest take away, the whole establishment was lively and upbeat. They made my last few hours in Houston, TX amazing!!! I can’t wait to come and visit again!!!
Pizza was amazing service was top notch definitely would recommend.
Quaint place with pleasant, attentive staff. Food was pretty good, as well. The only downside was the restrooms were nasty and no toilet paper in the ladies room.
Came to visit Houston for the weekend. This place is most definitely a must go. Food was amazing! Drinks were incredible! Our waitress Gabby H was very helpful and kind.
We arrived at 2:00 pm to get two drinks (Mohito and a glass wine). I am writing this post as our drinks arrive at 2:54. I guess you can treat customers poorly when there are limited options. Our server was very pleasant.
A group of friends went for brunch during Houston Restaurants Weeks and were very pleased. The designated menu was great and offered a lot of variety. There were nine of us and we had made prior reservations. A nice thing is that they didnt make us wait for the entire party to arrive before seating us. We were able to casually trickle in. A HUGE plus for me. The service was great and so was the food. The cocktail included with brunch was a nice touch. The kale salad was delicious, as was the pulled pork pizzette. My friend had the tomato soup and bourbon maple waffles and loved them. The atmosphere was great, open air concept and a lot of natural light. The wall paper is adorable with all the little houses. We will be returning. Thanks for a great time!
Everything was delicious, the Texas BBQ pizza, shrimp linguine, cheesecake and tiramisu. If you are around it’s a perfect place to have a delicious meal. Also the waitress was super nice.
Who every picks the phone when you call is absolutely rude. Called just now at 10:30am.
The best part of my recent stay in Houston was this restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing!! I have zero complaints about the menu items I selected. Thanks for a beautiful experience 🥰
Very good ood food and service. This spot is on my brunch rotation. Try the Procutttio Omelet and the Banana Foster French toast is too die for. Reasonably priced mimosa carafe. Gave 4 stars because they lack variety brunch items
The food was outstanding, once it got to the table. The service however couldnt have been worse. Used app dishes, and a single round of empty glasses remained on the table as entrees came, 1 hour after we sat down. All empty dishes remained on the table after we finished dessert and paid the tab, 2 hrs later.
I was very happy with my experience! The mimosas actually have champagne in them, unlike most places where you just get a fizzy orange juice. My eggs were runny like they were supposed to be, and the food had good flavors. I like the peppers and onions included with the potatoes. The atmosphere was also really neat and made for a relaxing weekend brunch. Maybe the biscuits could have been warmer, but I cant think of anything else negative to say. I hope to go back soon.
Went here for Houston Restaurant Week. The food and the service were both fantastic.
I came in at 8:40pm. My pizza was not cooked properly the 1st and the 2nd time. The people were just in a hurry to get out. I would not recommend to eat at this place. I ended up giving my pizza to a homeless person across the street.
The food was amazing! So delicious! I loved the drinks menu as well. The only problem was we were outside on the patio and the sewer was smells terrible. Maybe they should put flowers or something outside to hide it.
The food was very authentic. Very fresh and flavorful. Employees were very attentive. I would recommend it to all my Astro fans. Go Astros.attentive
Surprisingly great food with a nice flavor profile.
Great good and close the park! Overpriced, but you’re paying for atmosphere, being downtown and close to Minute Maid park.
Great place to watch Astros games ect. Very friendly atmosphere.
We didnt have a reservation but the staff was really polite and told us to wait 15 min to accommodate us on te bar, my husband ordered the ossu burger and I ordered the chicken pesto pasta, both were super good and had a smoky flavor on the meat. The staff is super nice and the atmosphere is cool and relaxed!! Will definitely come back!!
Loved it. Interior is gorgeous, food is AMAZING, service (our server was Kendra!) was excellent. We went for brunch and the mimosas are delicious, coffee so good. Will definitely be back for dinner. I liked that their brunch menu included other items from their lunch and dinner menu so it was a great variety. We threw some chopped garlic on the margherita pizza and it was insane.
We made reservations for this spot since it was so close to Minute Maid. A little pre game before the game! They had some decent happy hour prices for beer and wells. We had the shrimp for appetizers and pizza for main dish and both were decent in flavor, the pizza could have been better but no real complaints. We had great service though and would recommend this place especially on game days but be sure to make reservations cause it does get packed.
Food was okay,, but not great. Our waiter was great, however another wait staff that helped us was rude. Difficult parking.
Deceiving Houston restaurant week brunch . A rip off for 20$. I had Prosciutto&Melon and Pizzetta. Pizzetta was ok, prosciutto was good but just 1slice with a little garnishing . Pizzetta regular price was 11$.... so 9$ for a slice of prosciutto? A set menu should offer some monetary advantage vs single dishes.... but when serving ridiculous portions... it’s a rip off. Not recommend
Love the service and food! We had the best dining experience for our bridal shower. 100% recommend for an intimate experience and a party event!
Went after an Astro’s game Saturday night. I ordered the ribeye, and what they brought out looked like a piece of skirt steak, or flank steak. It was about 1/4” thick and only about 4oz of it. I was very disappointed. In no way, shape, or form was it a traditional ribeye. Now saying that, everything else was fantastic. The meatballs and sauce were superb! Our waitress was also very nice and attentive.
Went with my church youth group and it was wonderful! the interior design of the place is wonderful too! and the staff and the assistance manager was amazing! Food 10/10! and the atmosphere and music wonderful too! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!
Having traveled the country and been to MANY bars around the country. Cameron is arguably the best bartender I’ve ever encountered. The most polite, professional, and coolest person I’ve ever been around. I’d give this guy 10 stars if I could. I will refer Osso & Kristalla to anyone I know.
Stopped by before heading to the ballpark. No wait, great service, very clean and of course great food. My new pregame spot before the Stros
Visited Osso and Kristalla on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for brunch. Inside has a modern industrial style with a dining area and a bar area with booths and TVs. With the weather being so nice we sat outside on the patio.Started off with an order of Polenta Tots. That was sprinkled with Parmesan and basil and paired with marinara dipping sauce. (Recommend)Next we ordered their popular Kristalla salad that was colorful and refreshing.Hard to resist wood fired pizza, so we ordered Italiano and it was topped with a Texas-Italian sausage that had a bite to it.The reason for the deduction of a star is for the service. They failed to pay attention to detail. Waters were often left unfilled and order an egg on top of my pizza and it was left off (see picture). Failed to bring silverware.Overall I would recommend giving this place a try. Especially if you are in the area before a game. Their prices are great and the food is tasty.
Shrimp and Okra Gumbo is really good. Highly recommended!
Had the rib eye. Houston week. Nice.
Wonderful eatery close to Minute Maid Park.
I loved this place, been cooking for years. Theres a new lady that makes it a miserable experience. I think its Eve or ava... You know who you are.Love the food location love at catalyst. All other employees are awesome.
Used to be great, but I think theyve changed chefs. The food is not nice now.
The carafe of raspberry mimosas was top quality!!! Food was delicious too!!! Great waiter too!!!
Food.Ahhhhmazing! Drinks, even better!! I would reccommend the Chicken Marsala, it was soooooo good. The staff were accommodating, the Owner was very down to earth and took really good care of us! I would definitely go back again, and again, and again...
Like the location near Minute Maid Park. (Though it wasnt baseball season yet) Service was excellent. Food selection for their brunch was nice. I had the Funghi pizza. Delicious. Wife had the French toast. Amazing. We will go back to try a lot that we werent able to this time.
