This is absolutely the best trift store in my life!! Thus is actually first store where I liked EVERYTHING. They have vintage clothes, branded bags and shoes, jewelry, prom dresses, Victoria Secret silky pajamas and many many many other things. The staff is absolutely amazing and super helpful. I absolutely love clothes part of the store, but when I got to non-clothes part, that was even better. The laces, Iranian table clothe, Indian brass plate, tailor dress form, electro piano, telescope, sewing machine, books... Hold me, cause I love this store, and I will be back many times!
Great High End Designers Fashion with Excellent prices. Friendly Staff. Luv this place!
This resale shop was a little bit of everything including clothing, housewares, curios, furniture, antiques, framed art, etc. Merchandise displays are outstanding. They have nothing but quality merchandise. Clothing is sorted by size with a section for items that have been marked down.Prices are a little high, but the proceeds go to a good cause. I was really impressed with this shoo.
Great selection and quality and such a great staff and volunteers.
Nice clean store, very pleasant atmosphere. you have to pay close attention to the register. sometimes the price on the ticket doesn’t come up properly when they ring you up.
Charity Guild of Catholic Women is THE BEST resale shop in Houston! The lovely pink ladies are full of joy and most helpful. You can tell their volunteer service comes from a special place in their heart. The shop is amazing...clean, orderly, well lit and chock full of wonderful treasures! If you havent had a chance to discover this hidden gem - come see for yourself. You will leave with bags in hand and a smile on your face knowing you helped make a difference and found a great bargain!
Have bought and consigned at this Charity Guild for years. Very happy with the professionalism and cheerfulness of the volunteers. Very organized. Also warms my heart that proceeds benefit charities in Houston. Huge selection and as with any store, thrift or retail, important to use your best judgment when making purchases. I have greatly improved the quality of my wardrobe and library with many items purchased here. Lovely place! Highly recommend it!
I find the store is a gem of treasures. Everything is very well organized, the fitting room is clean, the clothes are in near perfect condition. all electrical housewares are only on the floor if they work. The Boutique section for men and women have wonderful finds. The furniture and art section receives constantly a large collection of items. If you dont find something today, return next week youll find new treasures. The ladies in the shop are always very courteous and helpful.
This place was even bigger than I expected; I think its one of the largest resale stores Ive ever been inside. Sections for clothing and shoes and jewelry and household items and large furniture and books and childrens and... they even had locked cabinets of silverware and crystal which was pretty impressive. They do an intriguing pricing system here where theres one price until a certain date, and then on future dates the price reduces (the prices tags I saw all had four dates with four pretty significant price reductions). So you can play a little betting game with yourself and see if the item you want lasts until the day it becomes a bargain.
This is a very nice thrift store. They have lots of really nice things and they are normally very reasonably priced. Anything from clothing, shoes, bags, to glassware and lovely antiques. Also furniture, paintings, lamps, they have it all. Its a great place to shop.
I like that place, it has used things clothes, glass, jewelry, furniture etc and good terms! And prices are great! And store and people are nice too!💜👍
This resale consignment shop is excellent. You have a clean, well-lighted shopping experience for clothing, household, jewelry and furniture at great prices. At the same time you help childrens charities. Check out the big sign at the cashiers desk listing this years beneficiaries
I find the Charity Guild to be appropriately priced with such an array of items. We have furnished majority of our house with some great finds from the Guild. As for one of the comments below--I have been shopping here for years and have NEVER experienced a rude volunteer. And, if you have, I would say something to another volunteer--they would love to know so they can correct that behavior. They are all unpaid with the exception of the security guards. These women give their time to help the guild and put money back into our community--its a great place!!
Fantastic finds at great prices! Incredible. I once got a large, crystal, Tiffany vase here that was identical to one I found on ebay for $420. I paid $23!! Unbelievable. I have gotten many lovely St. John outfits, silk and cashmere sweaters. Their boutique clothing section is the absolute best of all the resale shops in town. Such a selection!Very small section for men. Many quality books and lots of jewelry. This shops proceeds benefit childrens charities- thats my excuse for spending money there!
Everything was ridiculously overpriced
Never in my life have I experienced such a thrift-tastic store. I went in looking for a 90s outfit and this store did not disappoint. Then I got a pretty decent winter coat for like a dollar?? Dude, these catholics know what they are doing, I highly recommend.
This is an epic thrift store. There is a huge selection of clothing as well as a good amount of housewares. I always seem to be done browsing/shopping about an hour before my wife and her mother and if you are in a similar situation of shopping until youre ready to drop, but your shop-mate isnt done yet, take a stroll to the Menil Collection—a great art museum, free admission, 10 minute walk away—and let them shop to their hearts content.
Prices were reasonable and they had a fair amount of products
Every time I come to the Heights this has been one of my favorite places to stop. I can usually find some amazing deals on housewares and the volunteers have always been friendly; that is until today. They have apparently changed their manager or director and whoever is running the show now is creating a poisonous atmosphere. Not only that, it seems they are all experiencing severe - almost clinical, withdrawals from whatever they gave up for Lent.I have never seen so many people screamed at over simply asking a question or for assistance. One lady got screamed at for calling the store to ask for assistance with something in the back of the store because no one would stop to help her and this lady was trying to buy an entire case of overpriced glassware. I then watched the ladies at the counter give a woman on the phone the wrong directions and then hung up on her laughing. I watched these ladies follow people around and notify their security because they didnt like the way the patrons looked. It was one of the most uncomfortable experiences Ive ever had in there and I wasnt at the receiving end of their wrath until checkout when I didnt see their newly placed barely 8x10 sign (as it wasnt in that spot the last several times Ive been in there) that says line forms here atop a 2.5 pole from across the 10ft x 10ft square 3 to 5.5 high checkout kiosk. Thats when I got chastised for not getting in the appropriate line and not reading the sign that I couldnt see in the first place and I was the only person trying to check out.As much as I once loved this place, I wont be back until something changes. Their prices went from decent to well above retail as if they are a high-end designer boutique and their volunteers attitudes were absolutely atrocious. I couldnt care less if they drop their prices every two weeks, its not worth it. I truly feel sorry for anyone who was in there today. No one deserves to be treated that way.Thats certainly no way to run a charity organization where you depend on your donors and patrons together to help provide for those in need. Save yourself the trouble, there are plenty of similar organizations in the Heights that sell the same things at better prices in an environment is much more pleasant - spend your money at those places, not this one.
Love this place. The women who volunteer here are incredibly knowledgeable and nice!
I wonder why the shop is closed on 12/4, Wednesday? I tried to call the shop but no one takes the phone.
I like it nice selection of everything. Not overly expensive. Found a nice designer dress for $22 and a crystal jewelry box for $.75... Kids cloths lots of glassware and purses.
This is the best Thrift Store ever. Clean, well organized and price tags list how the items price decreases overtime.
Very clean and nice thrift store with many nice items. The volunteers who run it are friendly and helpful.
My wife loves this place. i like it . good for people on a budget. clean store and operation and has nice variety of used fashionable stuff.
Hands down the best thrift shop ever! The longer something is there the cheaper it gets. The organization and knowledgeable staff really make a difference
I love thrifting with my mom here! Its a great place to shop! Quality merchandise, clean and well organized. The staff is really nice!
Great place to shop. Lots of goodies. This has become my favorite place to shop now. Everyone was very friendly.
A higher end thrift store run by older Catholic ladies. Its really a consignment store where prices are assigned by sellers but the price on each item drops on certain dates listed on the price tag. True free market: if you think something is overpriced, you can wait for the price drop and hopw someone else doesnt buy.
One best resale shops in Montrose. Everything is nicely displayed, not cluttered and able to easily move amongst the displays. Clothesare well organized and the fitting rooms are nice.
Prices are too high. The employees are not nice.
The store has so many things like furniture, clothes, books and other fine great antiques. Prices are good and reasonable.
Awesome items for sale. Prices make most if it not worth it. What finished it for us was a rude crazy lady who yelled at us and ridiculed me since we got there 15 minutes before they were closing. She then told me fine, if I insisted on staying she would not allow anyone to sell me anything I brought to the counter.
They had the finest furniture for resale I have ever seen. Everything was very clean and well organized. I will be going back👍
Make sure when you buy a board game to check the pieces. I almost bought a board game and when I asked to make sure everything was in it you could tell she was annoyed. Luckily I did, the game had missing pieces. Also the employees here are so rude. One lady almost knocked me over because she did not want to say, “excuse me” to pass through. Most of the employees here have no manners.
1st visit. Items are clean. Prices are UNBELIEVABLE. STAFF is friendly. I purchased NAME BRAND purses and left very happy.
A very cool shopping experience. The furniture section was especially impressive.
My favorite resale store in Houston! The very best! The best bargains on high quality items from clothing, furniture, & jewelry.
Not a huge fan, but my grandma always drags me along because she’s so tickled by all the fun stuff they have for her home. She always walks out with something and spends hardly anything at all.
Went by yesterday and found the pricing to be better than others in the area but the selection wasnt fabulous (likely because the prices are good and its popular). If I lived in Houston I this would be a thrift store to visit often and Id have better luck.
Great place to shop for designer clothes. Also, if you are looking for used furniture, I would check out Charity Guild 1st.
Awesome place. Just great women doing good things
Resale shop doesnt really describe this place. Theyve got good quality merchandise but not resale prices
This is a cool little place with lots of interesting finds. They have jewelry, dishes and furniture
This is a good place to shop if you are looking for inexpensive things that you might not be able to find in season and a bunch of other random stuff. The mens section is kind of sparse, but the womens section is well stocked.
Great prices, the meltdowns are an exciting find! And THE employees are just BEAUTIFUL ❤
Friendly God loving staff selling items for your home.
Fantastic place to shop for home goods while helping those in need. ☆☆☆☆☆
Its just too expensive for furniture and housewares. Cant comment on clothes prices. It is a nice and clean store.
Every time I come to Houston, my daughter and I shop this store! We have purchased so many lovely things here, mostly furniture. At one point, I saw a crystal chandelier for $1,300.00 that I admired so greatly, I called my husband in Indiana to ask if hed mind spending that much on an antique. Well, he said no, only for us to find the same chandelier in an original antebellum home.Last time we visited, I purchased two perfect olive green French provincial bed side tables for her bedroom, a sofa table, a gawd-awful ugly guilded glass topped table that everyone thinks is amazing, and some vintage shoes! This charity store is on my list of must do Houston things! Plus they have local delivery for a small fee.Tell Calvin Ms Davenport and her daughter say Hey Yall!
Great shop, friendly people. Good place for household stuff, kids stuff.
Beautiful store with a great variety of high quality products
Very good prices and very nice staff members.
Great store with really nice things and good.bargains.
The ladies working there are always friendly & helpful. Good prices on most things & since the price goes down based on the amount of days there you can always come back & hope its still there.
Fins good things but high price.
Just A great place to have fun and do a little shopping
Great prices! Great quality! Love the every 2 weeks markdown!
Clean. Prices were only somewhat reasonable to start with
Occasional good finds, well organized and fairly clean. Little on the pricey side
Love the Guild.. top of the line resale!!
If you like to help other you can donate you clothes or furniture to this Charity.
Too expensive, its cheaper to buy brand new at WalMart unless you want to pay high price for tinkets and such. $30 for a used crock pot or rice cooker?! No thank you.
Not a wide range of housewares and inflated pricing. The staff is friendly and helpful.
I had been shopping here for years, until I encountered a very rude associate. I had taken my mother along with me for the first time, and before I knew it the woman in charge of the dressing room was yelling at her. We politely walked away in disgust of how rude this lady was being. There is no excuse for that type of behavior. I will never shop here again or recommend this shop to anyone.
Great Prices..Awesome Staff!
Very good experiance was fast and easy
Although this store has a great selection of furniture and clothing, the prices are really high! I was shopping for furniture (just moved here) and couldnt believe the prices being asked for USED loveseats, chairs, and wardrobes. While a few of these items merited the prices (antiques and solid wood pieces), many of the items were clearly from Target, Walmart, or IKEA, and yet cost as much or more at the Charity Guild than one would pay for similar, new items at the above-mentioned stores. I even went and checked to be sure! I found a new loveseat at IKEA for almost the same price as a comparable-quality, used one at the Charity Guild! Why buy used when you can pay the same for new? It just doesnt make sense. A quick look at the clothing and housewares showed that the Charity Guilds prices are out of line across the board. Im sure the volunteer women mean well, but I think some of them need to take a field trip to the real world! Get out there and do some comparison shopping before pricing items! If looking for used furniture, Id highly suggest you check out the local Goodwill stores instead. And IKEA will probably net you better deals for non-heirloom furniture than anything the Guild sells. Plus, they deliver!
This place is my new favorite place to shop
If you like antiquing, this is the place to go.
Excellent items, prices and staff!
Love finding jems here, have even found a few items under a dollar!
Kind ladies, unique items... If the price is too high, come back next week!
Great place clean and orginized
Shopping therapy and the employee are very welcoming
Best resale shop ever.
A good place to shop
Best resale store in Houston based on pricing
Quality merchandise. Price drops the longer an item is there.
Didnt want to rate so high, wanna keep it a secret 😉
