I like this store. I would always pass by it and thought it was just some cheap music store since guitar center was more known and heard of. I decided to give this store a chance and I was super impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of each person in here. I was in and out pretty quickly and the customer service was like no other. I also like the great selection of instruments they have here. Its just feels nice to walk in the store aside from this hot Texas weather and feeling the ac breeze hit me. But yeah, I would definitely recommend many of my friends to come here for music stuff. Also, some of the employees here are cute so I will definitely make this my main store.

There was a delay with an online order with an open box amp and as a last resort I called this store as I couldnt get through with the online customer service. This store corrected the issue and honored my open box order with a new item from this store. The entire experience from the store was amazing as well. For starters, I cant believe how every guitar is well set up already - no more guessing whether the guitar isnt right for your or just isnt operly set up. Between the great customer service and the attention to detail, this will be my go-to location for all equipment.
First heard of Sam Ash through online comments. ordered a guitar online at their website. weeks after, decided the guitar just wasnt for me. returned it in store and boy was i surprised about the experience.all of the associates were incredibly helpful and attending. that store radiated positive energy.i returned one guitar, but in exchange, came out with 2 guitars i couldnt leave the store without.a well deserved 5 stars.

Just wanted a few guitar picks. They asked for a ton of personal info. Home address, phone number and email. I stopped after giving my phone. Employee said they had to have it all in order to use my debit card for a $10 purchase. I declined and paid cash, but I guess they had already input my phone and were able to text a review request to me. Picks were overpriced but needed them that afternoon.
I really recommend Sam Ash Store, not only because they have the best of the best instruments and vibe, but more importantly the way they treat their customers. Trevor and Tim are awesome. I love this place! Everyone in each area knows what theyre talking about. Theyre super professional, friendly, caring, and helpful. Never had a bad experience here. Everyone speaks in a very friendly manner. Sam Ash compared to Guitar Center is an insult due to the professionalism in this store. Ive had experiences were employees at GC didnt know what they were talking about, while at Sam Ash, you can tell theyre passionate about what theyre recommending you. I stopped by Sam Ash North Houston location on the day of a gig with hopes of possibly purchasing a guitar multi-effects pedal. I was joined by my lovely wife and our 3 awesome sons (aspiring musicians).We walked in and were warmly greeted and welcomed in. As we walked around the store migrating from section to section (my sons eyes all shining and full of rock star dreams lol) we were offered assistance and given genuine customer service. Each associate that I or my family made contact with during our visit exhibited a remarkable level of concern for the customers needs and inquiries. Aside from that, they made my family feel comfortable and even the more interested in music and all of its many components and that is one of my smile triggers. Unfortunately I wasnt able to find one that fit both my needs and budget. Even though the associate exhausted all efforts to find something for me. I visited the store on I-45 N and West RD in Houston,TX on July 17th. I purchased a guitar stand that holds 3 guitars. The salesperson was very good and very helpful. The last time I went to the store a month or so ago I had the same sales person. I believe his name is Timothy (on receipt). He is very helpful. He helped me try out several different effect pedals. Even though I didn’t purchase one at that time, he was very professional and did a good job. I have purchased several items from Sam Ash since they opened the Houston location. Most of the time at music stores around Houston I get sub par help/service. Sam Ash has been quite an improvement.
Positive:The store had a great selection of music gear, and had a lot of items I couldn’t find at other music stores like Guitar Center. If you are looking for speakers, recording equipment, guitars or drums, or amps, this place is worth visiting. They have great policy of meeting competitions prices. See store for details.Negative:One thing I didn’t like was the lack of associates on the floor. I waited around for a while to purchase something I knew I wanted when I first arrived. It took me about 25 minutes to purchase something I knew where to find upon entering the store. Also if you are looking for more classical instruments (violin, viola, cello), they are more of an entry level instrument retailer.Conclusion: I would shop there again if I needed audio related music equipment including guitars or amps. But would probably try to call ahead to ensure someone would be there to help me when I arrived.
Great experience as usual, always providing great advisory and supporting us during our exploration and decision process. So the store has changed for good, you can find almost all kind of instruments here. They also have a technician that can fix string instruments. You find cables, microphones, lights, drums sets. They also have discounts and pretty good quality brand speakers. Also if you are looking for the brand of samson they do have most likely everything of it, as of my knowledge that is like the brand that sam ash carries as their own but not for sure this was said by an employee from there. My last purchase there was some cool stand with lights and the manager came out to fix the problem that the lights had which I thought it was amazing that he was doing all and beyond in his hands to fix the problem. I dont remember his name but I know he was really young and he help a lot all the customers.

It’s under staffed, they all ignore you and leave you standing there while they answer the phone and give people on the phone priority. One of them was talking to me. When another person came up to him. He left me there standing and talking to myself. That’s never happened to me before. Another attendant laughed at me when I asked for silicone finger tips to play the guitar. (I’m a beginner wanting to learn at my 40”s, maybe that was hilarious to him) On the positive side there was one attendant that was very polite and gave me excellent service. Lukas is by far the person I will go back to anytime I need to purchase anything. He was very informative and had a positive attitude.
I Edna Cambrice was the customer at Sam AshMusic. They are continuing the tradition of Parker Music, which I frequently used.I was greeted with a freindly smile by Jimmy. I described what I needed,immediately he described the Rhythm Watch RW 200. He then gave me a demo of the machine and explainedit usuage.I was sold. The customer service was isoutstanding. I went in for a piece of equipment and it was damaged on the Shelf. However the manager said it wasnt for sale. I was told Everything Must Go. And he did not honor good policy as a musician

Salesman greeted me and offer help. I was looking for cables; was patient when look for my device on the internet. I showed him the image of the connection I needed and picked the correct cables I needed. They worked.It recommend that you have a clear image of the device(s) you are connecting to have a smoother and faster experience.

Run of the mill big box music store... not much in the way of stock... might be covid... i dunno... wasnt really displayed in any cohesive order where you could find what you were looking for quickly... pricing is average for big box music store... used equipment was overpeiced.. typical of these type stores.. nothing to draw me here or make me leave.. like most, including the store that was here in this location for decades, the internet will be its demise eventually... sad but true...
Trevor was very helpful and knowledgeable. I had a lot of questions from amps to drum kits and he was able to give a through explanation every time. Also, their prices are on point compared to online prices. I will definitely be returning and recommending to friends!

I owned a Roland RD-64 and was looking to step up to an 88 key keyboard. I spoke with Trevor at my local Sam Ash music store and he worked with me towards purchasing my RD-64. This allowed me to purchase a Yamaha CP-88. They only had one in stock, but it was in New York. Trevor arranged for the shipping of the Yamaha to Texas where I am located. Being able to trade in my RD-64 was the help I needed to enable me to get the Yamaha Cp-88. Thank you Trevor!

Up until now my experience has been pretty decent. Either the customer service is exceptionally knowledgeable or the opposite. Its known as a recording equipment store so I’d expect a little more useful help from them but like I said, it really depends on who you have on the phone.
While in search for several months of a small replacement hammer for my souvenir chimes from Belize, I was referred by H &H Music store who didnt have it. I was so amazed that in visiting Sam Ash to see such a large variety of merchandise, and being so impressed with all the effort Trevor made with finding the little striker I needed, I went further to go ahead and also purchase the complete Chime set. Im totally pleased with the knowledgeable customer service, the stores atmosphere, and even got the story of the Ash familys humble beginnings. I love this store. Ill be back!
So it was my first time at the Sam Ash Music Store once. I walked in and saw what I needed to get, the sales rep gave good customer service. I was looking around like I was confused and lost and he stopped and asked me if I needed any help, he went to the register and told me that I could come to him to pay for my purchase. He got all my information and he got me in and out of the door less than 2 minutes. I thank him for all his help I didnt get his name but I will shop with him again.

Always expect a great experience walking into Sam Ash, and they’ve never failed to deliver. This is a store made for actual musicians, of any experience or interest level and you can immediately feel the difference walking in. Came here looking for a pedal and some inspiration, and left with a great electro harmonix Canyon at a more than fair price. Not that I’d ever recommend guitar center outside of an emergency situation, but Sam Ash will absolutely always have the more knowledgeable staff and best environment to explore a rather expansive myriad of musical journeys.

Nice place but some people didnt really wanna help. A worker was giving out guitar lessons on the floor.. I had to walk to the opposite side of the store to purchase my strings. Other than that the people I interacted with were very nice.
This place REQUIRES YOU TO WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES.I wanted to stop in and check this place out based on a fellow musicians recommendation.I walked in front door and was immediately stopped and asked to wear a mask. They were not rude or unprofessional at all however you will not be aloud to spend money here unless you are wearing a mask.That’s a shame in light of the fact that it is no longer required and I’m many cases not effective against COVID.This is simply a business owner whom wants force wearing a mask because it’s a political issue and they can’t stand the thought that it was never really even effective in the fight against COVID.I won’t spend dollars with any business that requires compliance with any mask requirements.
Being a musician, I naturally enjoy being in a music store. This time I had my three sons with me and they too are aspiring musicians. To see the joy in their eyes really made me happy. We walked in and were met with great customer service. The selection of product as well as pricing was very good. I highly recommend Sam Ash for allllll of your musical equipment needs and wants.

I went to look for a piano string which they didnt have but the attention of the employees was very good they even gave me the phone numbers written on a piece of paper so I can call other stores and see if they had it before I went to the stores, I reccomend this place because of the employees which were very helpful

My son found a used Trumpet online at Sam Ash Music Store. I called and asked Olivia to hold it for me that we live an hour away. Two days later I drove there and bought the Trunpet. Arriving at my home my son was so happy but realized there was a small part missing. I called and spoke to a sales person and waited for a call back. Manny the manager called and was very polite, with in 2 days the part arrived at the door and now my son is super happy. Thank you Manny for your professionalism and for making my son happy.

CAME ACROSS A ENOSONIG VFX SYNTHESIZER AND DIDNT KNOW IF IT WORKED. WENT THERE TO BUY A LINE CORD TO CONNECT TO A SPEAKER. THEY WERE SO NICE IN HELPING ME, SINCE I HAD NO IDEA HOW. WORK FINE 🙂. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
Terrible customer service. When did lying to customers become cool. Tried to buy a Fender Player Strat thats been hanging on the wall for months and they told me they couldnt discount the USED floor model because its already been heavily discounted to get to the current $749.99 price.... Yet, EVERY RETAILER in the nation is selling the same guitar BRAND NEW for $749.99. They cant cut $50 off a floor guitar that everyone and their brother has came in and touched and played? Unreal. Ill never shop at Sam Ash again
I loved the selection that they had in the store but I went to see if they would buy my daughter’s bell kit because she no longer needed it. The first guy said that he wasn’t sure and went to get the manager. Came back out to tell me that it had to look new, which it did and said he wasn’t sure which prompted me to ask for a manager. A Hispanic guy came out and rudely told me that they were not buying any bell kits and he never bothered to look at the merchandise. That was my first time going and will probably be last. No second chances on customer service in 2021.

Really great service. Went in to get the truss rod on my bass adjusted an some new strings. There was one person ahead of me, but the service guy didnt take long. I walked around for a while and in about an hour, my gear was ready. Strings sat nice and low, and the guy did a great job overall.

Very nice and polite employees but it took them over 3 weeks to get equipment that was ordered from another sam ash branch. Very annoying having to wait that long for a store to store delivery, but the employees kept apologizing and trying to resolve the issue.

Made a Detour from My Local Store to check them out. And was instantly fascinated with the great staff. And the way they went out to answer any questions or ideas regarding your set up by Patrick. I am happily to say this will be my new place. And also got a Great Deal on what I was looking for quite a While QSC went to various stores but they all had to order and thankfully Sam Ash had a Pair for me to Use on My Gig that same day. Good buying experience with 2 caveats: (a) One employee trying to handle multiple customers = interruptions. (b) Why wouldn’t a music store take a relic’d Tele custom build with USA pickups & Fender locking tuners in trade (especially when Fender charges even MORE for the same thing)??
Very helpful staff and wide selection of musical instruments & items. I went in and the staff was friendly, the layout was simple. I was able to find the drums with relative ease and try out a few kits they had set up. An associate was able to help me make my purchase and gather the boxes with speed and accuracy. the swift and express visit to the music store was one of the best trips to a music store Ive had in years. I would say its definitely worth looking around in.

Asked three employees for help w/ Mic cables and all three payed exactly no attention to me. Walked to get my own cables and got in trouble for being behind the counter. Went to the other counter to pay, and had to wait an extra 20 minutes just to give these folk my money. Thought Sam Ash would be a hit in Houston. I think it’ll be closing pretty soon. Not because of variety but because of lazy employees!
