McKenna gave us the best car buying experience ever. We saw the perfect car while driving by, on our way to another lot, and just had to stop in. They were absolutely professional and knowledgeable. Danny answered all the questions we had, plus some we didn’t think about. The whole process was quick and easy. We bought our daughter her dream car, one I didn’t think we would ever find. If you’re looking for a new or used car, Mckenna is the place you want to go!!
Had an awesome experience with Stephen getting a new 2022 Taos this week. He was really fun to work with and was very honest and upfront about everything - the mark of a great salesperson. He worked with me to get things done quickly and Shane was super great in helping out, super knowledgeable guy! Stephen helped me get my new Taos and Im super happy with it. Thank you Stephen and Shane for going above and beyond for me! It feels so great to get that kind of service when you least expect it.
Amazing! They had the vehicle that they advertised. The sales person met me when I arrived, we immediately went for a drive, had a nice chat about old VWs/Audis.I also received info on aftermarket wheel options for my car, after looking at a nicely modded vehicle the dealership had done.I liked the car I drove, then I bought it. Really easy :)
Five star service from the most professional sales team I’ve encountered to date!Seemed like the whole dealership came together to make sure I was well taken care of!!!Highly recommend coming here for your new car!
Brought in my VW suv in Dana was amazing over the phone. She made it easy for me to come on in. Fast and great service! Must see Julie in service shes the one who helped me and knew all the answers. Thank you again everyone who helped
This is Romy my salesman at VW and has been for many years and has sold me and my boys many cars from VW. I have lost count but when I want a car I call Romy and he goes to work and gets it done. I just sign and pick up my car and we are home. Romy you one in a million and thanks for taking care of my families needs. You are great and so has McKenna, they have given us the best always.
I don’t usually write bad reviews but I’m extremely unhappy. I bought a 2019 Tiguan last august and made it quite clear i wanted a maintenance package added to the deal. I ended up taking less on my trade in order for the deal to happen. Well fast forward to June the following year… I’m going for my routine maintenance that should be covered but what they sold me isn’t a maintenance package but something totally different. I canceled this policy on June 10 2021, it’s now august and i haven’t seen any kind of refund. I called the cancellation department and they said they had everything they needed and i should have seen something over a month ago.
Always being treated exceedingly well. Just yesterday, my car was taken unscheduled because of the nature of the repair - I couldn’t turn off the engine. So, Rigo took me in and promised to do the best for me and he delivered. Although the car was taken into service like about 2:45 pm (and I didn’t think there was any possibility of repairing it the same day - but I requested that), he managed to return it back to me before 6 pm. He also granted me some guaranty my car still had and changed the oil. I don’t have words to thank Volkswagen McKenna for the royal treatment and service. You guys are awesome, kind and out of this world!Love you !Ana Weiss
The staff at McKenna Volkswagen HB are all so kind! I am treated like family, it is nice to know that you are not just a number. I am on my second Tiguan now, and this is the only Service Department I trust to work on my vehicle. Thank you McKenna Volkswagen!
My first car I purchased from McKenna was back in 2012 I fell in love with Volkswagens. So when it came time to purchase my next car I knew I wanted a Volkswagen. I went in back in December to start looking and wanted to go to McKenna I did not like that experience that I was hesitant to even go back. When it came time again I wanted to to give McKenna one more chance. I spoke with Danny and he made my experience so much better he got me in to a 2022 Volkswagen Taos. He made me feel so much more comfortable with this huge purchase I was making. If you are looking for a new Volkswagen make sure you go to Danny at McKenna!
The sales experience was actually not bad when I purchased my car, just a long wait. The REAL problem I have with McKenna is that they sold me a used 2016 Hyundai Tuscon that had an open recall.60 days after purchase, the car I got at McKenna broke down on the side of the road 4 hours from home in 100 degree weather. After taking it to a local repair shop I contacted Mckennas manager, Dan Ryan. Honestly, I have zero complaints about him as his service was great. He helped me get into contact with a Hyundai dealer close to my location and notified me of the manufacture warranty to help get my car fixed under warranty. Then I had to pay for a rental to get mw and my 9 month old home.Mckenna was able to put me in a rental once I got back while my car was being repaired. The service manager L.A was also great.Unfortunately for me, car parts are on backorder for my vehicle. Which is still being repaired. After providing me with a loaner for 60 days, McKenna contacted me asking to return the loaner because my vehicle was being repaired under a recall through Hyundai. Therefore they felt it was not their responsibility to provide me with a temporary car till mine was finished with repairs.Having the loaner was a great help, I do appreciate the service I received.Bottom line is, McKenna should not have ever sold this car to me in the first place. If youre going to sell someone a car, make sure there arent mass recalls on the year make and model. Now my car repair is approaching 120 days and I havent had a rental since I took the loaner back beginning of August. Im a single mom with an infant who has special needs and multiple weekly appointments. I spent good money on a car to avoid this exact situation.Unfortunately, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I would not recommend purchasing a used car from Mckenna. Hopefully in the future, they will be sure to do their research on the used vehicles they sell. Overall, Im disappointed.
This dealership is awesome, throughout the car buying process they were never pushy and made buying a new car a great experience. This is a family and not just a car dealership.
Best VW dealership! Team is super friendly, efficient, and the location can’t be beat in HB.
High price and mark-up with their own protection plan and money factor for lease is higher than nearby dealers.
Service Department was fantastic! Brought in my 2011 Touareg TDi for a Nox sensor replacement and Julie kept me updated on what would be done, timeframe, warranty coverage and rental car info, even though I did not need it this time. Had an issue at another dealership in regards to warranty work on my diesel, so was happy I did not need to even bring it up. One of the better service experiences I have had.
I’d give zero stars if I could. They had an advertisement for a sale going on that included low credit scores. I’m in the process of rebuilding mine and know that it isn’t the best. I went here to check out the new Taos and was shown the Tiguan which I loved. I explained my situation to the salesman’s prior to looking at the car. I let him know where my credit was, that I was in a lease with another car, what the payoff amount was on that one, where that one was Kelley blue booking, and that I didn’t want a co-signer if possible. The manager told me, right before they were about to run my credit, that the amount of my payoff was higher than I thought, which is fine…that’s on my current lease with Kia and not at all volkswagen’s fault. Then he proceeded to tell me that I would have to have my dad as a co-signer because he is the co-signer on my current lease. Two completely different companies and two completely different contracts. My dad would NOT need to be on my new lease. I was then told that because of my credit, which I have gotten two brand new cars on previously, was too low to even check and that with the amount I wanted to put down my car payment would be around $550! They have a lease special going right now on the Tiguan for $269 a month. With 3k down, please explain to me how I would have a $550 payment?! They also didn’t have a sticker on the car so at that point, because i was shocked, I asked how much the car was priced at. The manager responded $30k. I walked out. It was the lowest model they had but it had rims on it so I guess they thought they could up the price. I get home and look online at their website and find that car, listed at $26. Pretty big difference. Basically, I find it disrespectful to waste my time after I told you numbers prior to looking and then to lie to me about the price of the vehicle and lease terms. Along with making up some crazy amount for a monthly payment without actually crunching numbers. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership. They clearly are not out to help people. And i don’t know about you, but I surely wouldn’t want to buy from people who are lying to me.
Never thought about a Volkswagen, but a coworker suggest I check out the Tiguan. We were greeted and helped by Shane Fortier. He was very kind and helpful. He showed us a few and then we test drove one. This car is so cool! Loads of room and cargo space and even includes a 3rd row of seats! This was such a fun testdrive. We also met the manager who was equally as friendly and not at all pushy. This car is now on the top of my list.
I went and bought my car from McKenna Huntington Beach VW and I sure am glad I did! The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable, as well as made sure to walk me through all the features of my new purchase. The whole process was super speedy and very efficient! I will be sending all my friends and family in need of a car there way, because this is the place to score the best new wheels in the west coast. It brought me all the way down from Seattle for there awesome prices and cars! Definitely will come back for all my other car needs!!
I recently had a problem with my previously repaired sunroof in my Jetta Sportwagon. I had a awesome warranty but I chose to get rid of the car because it had a lot of miles and was eight years old and who else would buy a used VW with water damage all over the roof. I went to McKenna and worked with a young man on seeing a car almost like my old car I LOVED. We liked the car and I bought it. The disappointing part of this experience is I should have insisted on driving a new car just to compare but my salesman wasn’t encouraging me to, he clearly was not interested. After all was said and done, I had to buy my navigation myself and inside the box it states that your navigation is sold with the car and transferred to the new owner. My car came with a navigation box inside the car and stated in the ad online that it came with navigation why didn’t you guys give it to me instead of holding it hostage for more $$$?? My SEL also should have the cargo cover, and for the full price of this used car you guys should’ve included it. I had to pay $148. for that navigation card from another entity. Both the navigation AND the cargo should have been in this car. The cargo cover is $300+, jeez. My third car from McKenna by the way.
I made a purchase here on a 2020 GTI in May. If old-school dealers are your thing, this is your dealer. I have a few takeaways from my experience with McKenna VW: First, prepare to have dealer add-ons already included in the price of your vehicle. This dealer add-on is what they call the McKenna Advantage which is basically just a way for them to make extra money while they advertise it as some kind of value-added service. Anyways, when I tried to negotiate the $500 add-on, the sales manager Robert said he had another person wanting to buy the same car and pay more for it. He said was going to charge the other person $1,000 for the add on. My takeaway is this - If you advertise up-front pricing offer everyone the same price on the mandatory dealer add-on. McKenna tacks these on every one of their vehicles so they say so be prepared to pay more than what the listed price says.My second takeaway is this - I think 2020 has shown that dealers need to be more competitive to Carmax, Carvana, Vroom, etc. I tried to negotiate the out-the -door price with the sales associate, Jack (he didnt seem all too interested if I purchased the car or not) and he said I would have to come in to the dealer to speak with his manager and go over the numbers. Instead of being upfront about price on the phone with me, they do what dealers need to stop doing and lure people in and haggle the old-school way.Final takeaway is this - I already researched the car I wanted to purchase prior to coming in the dealer so I know what I wanted, but when I arrived the first time no one greeted me, I had to walk inside (which I dont prefer) and find someone to assist me. Jack, the sales associate was sitting at his desk on his cell phone. Dont dealerships ususally have associates out front waiting to greet customers? I ended up going back two more times because like I said before - McKenna VW wants you to come in to haggle - and noticed there were no associates out front greeting customers.Overall my experience was less than satisfactory - the only reason I didnt give a lower review is because when I did decide to purchase, Jeff in finance was AWESOME. Great dude - very friendly and down to earth. He should be selling your cars for you, Danny McKenna.P.S. - Robert - Still waiting for my wheel locks and Huntington Beach Parking pass. Never got them...
Looked at a used vehicle on Saturday for my son. Went in to purchase the vehicle a couple of days later, the GM had major attitude and we were working with a brand new sales person. Spent two hours there, went through the credit application multiple times, the apr came up way high so we decided to go with the credit Union loan and said we would be back the next day, as it was after closing. Next day a sales person called us to come in as we were on our way there and upon arrival, the car was sold to someone else. So of course they want to try find us another car. I’m still completely miffed at the situation. I have no idea how this even happened. Oh and they still have all of our credit information and signatures on file for a loan.I would NOT recommend using the HB location. Unprofessional and quite frankly unethical. Perhaps they should review their mission statement again! Do not do business with them! If you want to buy a VW, go to Pasadena VW! They are much nicer and honorable.
Kate was very helpful and nice.
Julie in service was such a joy to work with! She was understanding, patient & kind. Its customer service like this that has always brought me back to McKenna VW since I moved to HB in 2006.Dana was also do kind.Thank you ladies for your good spirits!
I’m updating my review to 5 stars not because every experience I’ve had here has been perfect, but because I posted a negative review about a recent experience I had, they contacted me immediately and worked very hard to turn my experience around and I really appreciate it. My most recent visit was very pleasant. Sales staff approached me immediately with a smile.
Absolutely amazing dealership. Sean was an exceptional at helping me into my first car! Him, Brian and all the friendly people at McKenna VW in HB really made the car-buying process a truly easy, enjoyable and memorable one. We also really appreciate the honesty and how transparent they were about everything! If you want to have the smoothest car buying experience, check them out! Definitely recommend! Happy new owner of an e-Golf!
Danny our salesperson was polite, professional and very knowledgeable about the VW product line. It was a very simple task to get a car at this dealership, no hassle just great service and a fair price.
It was great. My appointment was at 8:20 AM and was helped at that time. Did the recall work and washed my car . Didnt have to wait long..
I recently received a prize from this dealer, they called me to pick up the prize that I qualified and when I went they told me that a number on my prize had to match a number that they have at the dealer. This bad comment would have been avoided if they had dictated the number by phone.
I serviced my Jetta there ... team was super professional. The service advisor Rigo explained everything the car needs he was so nice and professional.Service done fast with reasonable price . They washed the car too. The facilities was super cleanThank you guys :)
I had my vehicle serviced at this location and was very happy with the way the way I was treated and the speed of my vehicle’s error diagnosis. I was treated respectfully and all my concerns were addressed. Tyler, my service advisor was very courteous and professional. I brought the vehicle in and the very next day I had a follow up call, notifying me that my vehicle was ready for pick up. McKenna has earned a loyal customer.
Brutal experience. McKenna had two of the exact models that I wanted and since they were 2020s and the year is coming to an end, youd figure theyd want to sell them. I submitted an online inquiry and was called within 2 minutes by a salesman who said they could not quote price over the phone because it depended on money factor, credit score and all kinds of other variables. I told him that I was ready to buy the car today and that the money factor wouldnt change by the end of the day and that I knew my credit score. Still, all he would offer was that my payment would be four to five hundred. I pressed more for a price but he kept saying I needed to stop by. That is old school car sales. The ol have to stop by to get a quote. Guess he forgot there is a PANDEMIC and people need shopping to be simple. Because of the reluctance to offer a price, I went back online and saw that Santa Monica had the exact same car/color/MSRP and they quoted me a fantastic price over the phone. And guess what? After showing up and test driving the car, they knocked another $1k off the low price that had already been quoted. McKenna lost out on what should have been a no-brainer sale.
Five stars for Rigo. Very helpful and on top of things. Really appreciated his service and kindness yesterday. He truly went above and beyond.Sean called me back today to update me that my car was done and needs brakes and rotors. He was also very nice and helpful.I didn’t appreciate the lady I spoke to over the phone today in the service appointments department she kept speaking over me and wouldn’t allow me to say why I was even calling without trying to transfer me when in reality I actually needed her help. She wasn’t very polite at all.I also received a call back, after leaving a message for the service department, from a man telling me that now they have to return the parts because I changed my mind about having them do my brakes. I felt that this was a tactic to make me feel bad. I have worked in sales for years and have seen this type of behavior a lot when my coworkers would lose commission. It was a matter of 10-15 minutes that I even agreed to do the brakes and then called back to cancel. I told him I just made the appt 10 minutes ago I don’t think any parts were ordered. He then asked why I can’t get it done. Completely felt like I was speaking to a true salesman not backing down. All in all I am very grateful for the two safety recalls that were done on my 2012 Volkswagen CC, just don’t enjoy the rude lady that sets appointments and the sales man that very clearly did not want me to cancel the brake job.
The best Volkswagen I ever visit
I have amazing experience with Vw McKenna in Huntington Beach. I purchased two cars there. My sales representative that was helping was Danny Maynor. Danny is unlike any other sales representatives! He made the whole buying process very easy and hassle free. Very friendly and awesome personality. Very knowledgeable about VW and always goes above and beyond to help the customers. When it comes to service, you have to see Julie Prescott. Absolutely amazing! She is always so helpful and very professional. Never fails to take care of the customers.
Excellent service by Rigo as always.
Very friendly. They make the process easy.
Awesome service
Very clean and professional place. I just wish that they become more detailed on their website about the service prices.Edit: updating my review to 5 stars. I tried maintenance at McKenna VW Huntington Beach and Normreeves VW Irvine, definitely McKenna is the cleanest and more comprehensive. The only missed thing I noticed after my car service was that my washer fluid was low and they did not fill it, however, on paper they said they checked it.McKenna washed and cleaned my car every time I went there even for minor things.Normreeves technician forgot to place the engine’s oil stick correctly which led to oil splash after my trip back home.McKenna is obviously more careful.
I use to go for 5 years and now I decided to make a service in another place after they rais the oil change price to 120$!!!!!
Good help at the parts department
Always friendly professional and courteous service
Excellent customer service Car service was completed in a timely manner my advisor Julie really took care of me :)
My buying experience was painless... in fact quite nice thanks to Ahmed! He found the car I wanted and kept in touch until it was on the lot. He was thorough, professional, and kind.In and out faster than any previous buying experience! Even a follow up call 2 days after sale ... excellent service!
Rigo really went above and beyond to help get my car repaired. I trust this dealership.
Had a good experience buy a VW Golf-Alltrack with a manual transmission. Roomy, my sales associate, was very professional and easy to work with. He made sure the vehicle was ready to pick up and had everything in order. Despite the 4 hour drive for me I would considering coming back to do business with this team.
Well organized..
This dealership doesn’t deserve even 1 STAR, they were awesome at first and did what needed to be done for my mom, but she decided to get a loan through her own bank because of a good rate. We went to the bank and got the Loan and were instructed to take it to the dealership for them to submit it on their end and Steven Lin submitted their own loan to her bank with their numbers and screwed my mom over for a Commission Check. He will not answer her phone calls or return her messages. Not even the manager would help her out. Will not recommend this place to anyone.
Best dealership in Huntington Beach. They are honest and have the utmost of integrity. Most dog friendly business I have ever experienced. My dog Buddy loves everyone there. Great selection of cars. Love this place!
Great service
I took my moms car for 50K service. Got a quote for 375 and an oil change. Got a message stating that the car was ready. I asked the price, the rep said that it was much cheaper than anticipated. The result was 662 with a bill like a medical bill, much more than the quote. When asked, no explanation was provided. Be careful, consumers.
Horrible experience buying a 95 VW Eurovan from McKenna. They promised to replace engine mounts and other parts like replacing missing gear shift cover after purchase but never did. Drove back to the dealership to leave van with them for repairs only to be told weeks later after lies about part delays that they wont do them because it would cost them too much. Finally paid a local mechanic to fix it up. Very disappointed with McKenna staff. They lied repeatedly about the condition of the van and their willingness to fix it when it wasnt in the condition they promised, then avoided me when I finally had to accept it as is. Cowards and liars all!!!. Wish I had sued them for the repair costs. Love the van, hate the dealership. Beware!
I have been communicating with this dealer to purchase an e-golf. Brian Walker (general manager) verbally promised me (multiple times) that the vehicle will be ready for me when I get back from a work trip. (within 48 hours) 2 days go by without a word so I thought Id give them a call before I uber out to pick up the car and I was informed the car was sold. Mind you, this is AFTER they ran a hard credit check to ensure finances are secured and yet they told me go shop elsewhere. This dealership does not keep up with the promises so proceed with caution.
No one there returns phone calls there. Need my car serviced but no call back. Sad.
DONT EVER LEASE A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP, WHEN YOU TURN YOUR CAR IN AND DONT GO THROUGH THEM TO BUY OR LEASE AGAIN THEY CHARGE YOU A DISPOSITION FEE OF $350.00. MY HUSBAND TURNED IN HIS LEASE WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE AND IN PRESTINE CONDITION BUT WE BOUGHT A CAR FROM HONDA. RIPPED OFF AT McKenna.
Excellent service and especially Advisor Julie, she knows her products and hard worker.
Really nice people.
Thank you, Ahmed, for making my new car purchase a wonderfully EASY experience! So helpful and on my side from the minute I walked on the lot. Everyone I interacted with at McKenna VW was so very helpful and easy to work with. Looking forward to driving my new Atlas! THANK YOU!
Great customer service! The auto advisor will write down your repair issues or any issue your inquiring about. My advisor Carlos was great. Service is excellent ( it a word I use often) they addressed my concerns.
If I could rate this place more than 5 stars, I would! I had the BEST experience at McKenna! Go to Christopher when youre ready to buy or lease! He made my buying experience unforgettable and I am SO beyond happy with my purchase. This place makes you feel like family, and I am now a customer for life!
This is my go-to service center. Julie is a pleasure to work with, and everyone else who assists me in Julies absence, takes care of me the way she would. Everyone is super nice, friendly and extremely accommodating. Ive been to other Volkswagen locations, and McKenna VW is by far the most superior in customer service. From the time I dropped my car off, to the time I picked up, I was provided with the most exceptional service. When I arrived just before 8am for my appointment, I was greeted and told someone would be with me in a few moments, as they were clearly already extremely busy. Just the fact that someone acknowledged me, was very pleasing. At other locations Ive been to, its disappointing having to track someone down to even help me. I was unable to pick up my car before the service center closed due to work deadlines, however, I was able to pay for my service over the phone and pick up before the dealership closed at 9. When I arrived around 7pm, I was greeted by Tam and he assisted me in getting my keys and paperwork and walked me to my car. He is so personable and I enjoyed our short conversation on my way out. Its nice not being treated like I am a walking dollar sign, as I have felt in my previous experiences at other places. These are good people that provide great service. By far the best of the best.
Awesome customer service and friendly service, I bought a atlas from here and no regrets 👍👍👍🧘
Purchased a brand new 2019 Tiguan last month, and have had the vehicle in service twice in the 4 weeks we’ve owned it. Dealership management has been extremely disappointing, and either don’t return calls, or they say they will follow up and never reach out again. Following our first call to the service department after breaking down 7 days after purchasing the vehicle, we have realized that this dealership is not concerned with customer care, and their employees lack empathy and basic customer service skills. This experience has left our family feeling nothing but regret in choosing to purchase from this dealership, makes us concerned about the safety of the vehicle, and soured the entire experience of buying a new car.
I recently visited McKenna VW surf city to check out the Volkswagen CC. I was quite anxious about purchasing a new car and working with a dealership because the car buying experience can be a hassle. Thanks to Mark Hewison, this transaction was hassle free. Mark is easy going and made me feel very comfortable. He did not use the typical cheesy sales tactics that many of the surrounding dealers use to reel in a potential buyer. Mark was very knowledgeable about the VW vehicles and answered all of my questions without hesitation. I did not feel sales pressure from him and this I appreciated most. The first offer he presented to me was better than I expected. We negotiated and I ended up with a smoking deal and a fantastic car. I thought for sure I would have to spend all day at the dealership working with the financing folks but surprisingly Cindy Kim was as efficient and friendly as Mark. She literally completed my paperwork in less than 30 minutes and was funny while doing it. From the general manager to the person who greeted me at the door, customer service was a common thread. I left McKenna VW surf city with an experience great enough that I needed to sit down and write this review. I would definitely recommend this dealership to other buyers.
This is my second car purchase with Danny and both have been incredibly easy. Danny goes out of his way to be communicative, problem solve logistics challenges, help work through options and choices, and all with an easy-going demeanor. He is incredibly easy to talk to and knows how to ask the right questions. I have incredible trust and faith in him and will recommend him to friends and family. Danny, I really appreciate all that youve done.
Went here on 8/22/15 to pick up a car for my daughter. Romy met us out front right away. He was very friendly, yet wasnt pushy. He asked us what we were looking for, gave us choices, and pretty much let my family figure out what we wanted to do. He was very professional and patient, allowing us to take a peek at several different cars. After making our selection, Romy took the initiative to get us the best deal possible. It was a very pleasant experience, a breath of fresh air in car-buying. Definitely coming back to this place in the future.
I had a check engine light come on my car so I took it to my mechanic. My mechanic told me that its a known issue with Volkswagen and they even had an extended warranty. My mechanic gave me the engine diagnostic paperwork and advise me to see if Volkswagen would do a warranty repair. I went to Volkswagen with the paperwork and explain the situation. My car has 75000 miles but it is 2009 I asked them if it would be covered which I was giving a very unclear answer. After I had to pay 4 another diagnosis from Volkswagen they told me it was the problem that had extended warranty but since my car was 10 years old I was no longer covered. I dont have an issue that my car was not covered under the extended warranty. I have the issue that I already went with paperwork that said what the issue was and was clear that I was trying to get a warranty service. If they knew that I was not going to be covered under warranty they shouldnt have had me pay the $148 4 a diagnosis when I already had one done by my mechanic. A good business would have checked to see if I would have been covered by warranty before having me get an additional diagnosis. The fact that they advise me to get the diagnosis shows they were only interested in making money and not actually helping me. Just another typical dealership very disappointing. This is the second time I had problems with my Volkswagen of a known issue and was not covered by my warranty. I wont buy another Volkswagen.
I saw a post for a car on Auto Trader, sent an email and pretty much immediately received a response from Tina, their internet director. That day I went to the dealership and was brought to the car I was interested in. Quick, easy and excellent customer service. Did not feel pressured to buy any other products or cars. Highly recommend their salesperson Christopher Stranger, he was great and saw the process through smoothly. Very friendly guy.
Romy treated us like we were his close friends. Buying my car was actually a GREAT experience! So much so, that a week later we brought our son here to buy him a car...then 2 weeks later, we brought our other son here to get him a car
I never leave unhappy from this place. The customer service is exceptional and they really make you a priority. My go to guys are always Alex and Anthony. These guys make it very possible for my car to get serviced as soon as possible. But it all has to do with management and Luis the service manager is awesome! He helped me get my battery replaced right after work because I had an emergency with the car Monday of all mornings before work! As soon as I was able to get to work I called and spoke with Luis and he made it possible to get my car checked to see why the car was having the issues it suddenly started having. He ran a diagnostic test and found the issue and resolved it immediately. The tech who worked on my car his name was Matt and he took the time to walk out to the lobby and explain to me what he did with the car and what the causing problem was. I thought that was highly professional and I appreciated that attention. But it didnt surprise McKenna HB is the BEST when it comes to services and deals!
They are always so helpful! So far, this has been my favorite car dealership to drive up to! They serve you, it is not just Sales at the top of their mind! Thank you!
Brian Luke Parts Manager went about and beyond the call of duty to help me with finding the correct wheel lock key in an emergency situation. He is very sweet thank you so much for your time and help.
Oh my gosh.I have bought many cars in my life but never been treat as well as Volkswagen McKenna in Huntington Beach. From the owner Danny being involved to the finance gal Monica helping my with the monies to Dean the general manager touching base with me. But most of all Lee who took me through all the bells and whistles on the car.Thank you all for everything.
I truly had a great car buying experience from first contact to finish. Jeff and Dean were fantastic in corresponding with me and answering my questions via email and text. We came to an agreement on price and I was promised no “surprises” or the typical stressful car buying experience. I visited the dealership to look over the car and do the paperwork and they delivered on their promise. It was easy, low stress, and everyone I came in contact with was very nice. Matt showed me the vehicle and answered all questions I had. Brian in the parts department checked on me while I was waiting for finance and even made a fresh pot of coffee for me. Once I was in finance, I was treated with respect by the girl that helped me (unfortunately I can’t remember the name at the moment) and she mentioned available options, but there was no hard selling of things I didn’t want. i put down a cc deposit and then returned Friday to complete payment and pick up the car.Upon arrival the car was clean and ready for me to take delivery.Thank you so much for the great experience. I feel that I got a great deal and an awesome new GTI. You better believe I’ll recommend them to my friends and family. They will be my first contact in 3-5 years once I’m ready for another VW.
Took my car in for the annual service and it also needed a recall issue fixed. I was expecting it to take a few hours but they informed me it would be a few days so provided me with a Subaru Forester because all the VWs were in use. I loved the loaner and when I picked up my Golf, it was spotless inside and out, when I had left it in a mess! It was great.
Michael Mullin helped and was a great source of information. Very honest too. Everything he did was over and above expectations to get us our deal.
My appointment was for 7am I was told I had a specific Service Guy who didnt help me till 7:15. I just had them do a oil change and was told it would only be 1 hour and 15 min., 2 hours and 15 min later if finally done. If your going to wait for your car to get serviced this is not the place.
It was a little annoying that there were so many people standing around without asking our party if we needed help. The receptionist could use some work in customer service. When someone started assisting, he was super helpful. We ended up not buying because the deals werent worth it at the time. May consider coming back but will shop around more
Wonderful dealer Julie the service advisor is amazing but the company is horrible how they make there staff stand outside in the drive.
The MOST important thing about a dealer is the service/repair dept. These guys are great. Andie and Rick went way beyond normal fix it to get my wifes 2002 VW beetle back on the road last week. I have bought parts and had service for years there, but above tjis exceptional deserves 2 gold stars.
Matt Rothenberger was fabulous. We were looking to get a bigger vehicle so that we can fit our entire family in one car and in comfort. Matt listened to us and our needs. He fought for us and was genuine with us the entire time. Having had my fair share of leasing and buying vehicles, my experience with Matt is bar-none the best car buying purchasing experience Ive ever had. And it wasnt just Matt, it included Stephen Lim in Financing, which is often the last dreaded stop in the car buying experience, but Stephen made it painless and quick. It included the manager and the entire staff as well. Add on top, free parking at the beach and car washes, McKenna Volkswagen is simply the best.
Carlos was extremely helpful and really made me feel like I wasnt being taken advantage of like most dealerships. He showed me the parts that needed replaced and how they had worn down over time. Great service!
Can’t say enough about Julie in the service department. She is Friendly efficient and takes a genuine interest in our customers and their problems. She is a representative of old world service and it’s very best. Julie is an enormous asset to McKenna Volkswagen.Experience there last week was indeed exceptional.Thank you Julie. Thank you McKenna Volkswagen.John Henry Corcoran
Always work hard to take care of us and get a loaner car when needed.
Both Tina and Romy is great help, we test drove both STI and Golf R, both are good, we will decide one after few month. Much better service then Irvine Subaru
Paul in sales was such a patient person, taking the time to explain all of the features of the cars and taking me out to test four different models. No pressure to buy which was great. Danny Maynor took great care of me to wrap up the deal. Very nice guy and a painless process. Great experience. Glad I shopped local!
McKenna VW has yet to disappoint me. I can always count on their expertise and excellent customer service. Ive never experienced this at any other dealership. Carlos was the service consultant that took care of everything for me and I give 5 stars to him as well !!
Fantastic help from Carlos. I️ felt like he rolled out the red carpet and gave me the star treatment. It’s worth the extra drive from Orange!
I guess no one works at the service department..Called for over an hour now and someone still can’t answer the phone.. maybe they should hire new people
Extremely rude sales people. Both sales men we dealt with were in the worst mood ever & came across angry. The gentleman we talked to the most even yelled at my daughter for not knowing how to pull the seat back up. He had her teary eyed. She was sitting in the back seat of a Beetle & tried to to move the seat so she could get back out. I even tried but it was stuck. He came and yelled at my daughter on how its done. He then snapped at me when I I asked if there was another car light in the Beetle. It was nighttime & we could barley see inside. He snapped at me & said only that light coming from the mirror which was barley making light itself. Unbelievable! If we hadnt wanted to ruin our other daughters experience of looking at her dream car we would have left then. We then went inside to talk numbers so our daughter really wanted it. We already had a bank loan & a check in our hand & all we asked him if he could talk to the manager to lower it $1000 so we could get it. The manager came out angry & didnt say hi as he walked past us & they left us & went to the managers office. The sales guy came back & said all they could do was offer us a loan & would try to match our bank loan. We said we have a loan & the check right here & can pay for it in full. But our budget on a used car had to stay nothing above the check which was why we asked if they could make it work. Literally after taxes all it would have been was lowering it a thousand. Instead of saying nicely they couldnt do that he snapped at my husband. And then yelled louder we arent going to get a better deal anywhere. We left. So unbelievable how rude these gentlemen are. And I have heard from car shops & other people who went there that they have also had an awful experience & they were very rude.
I don’t usually write reviews but my recent very bad experience needs to be reported. A car I purchased from them got totaled and I needed to cancel the warranty.First we called to get answers to understand the process. They would not return calls. I finally left a message with a manager and got a call two days later. Three weeks passed in this process. The girl I finally spoke to told me I had to send proof of mileadge before she would even send the form. I sent the proof. And then silence again. And I sent in the form finally, but since they weren’t together another week went by. We finally sent both together after more emails that went without response. Would have been great customer service to help us clearly communicate the needs knowing very well how anxious we were to settle it.I inquired again when I heard nothing back for yet another week. She delayed in the submission stating it would take over a month to process. The delay was in the dealers end. The warranty paid out the check within a week once they received the form. While frustrated I asked for the company info to follow up and she wouldn’t provide it so I researched and found them myself because I kept getting the run around and lame excuses from her about the busy holidays. Then she tells me the check was cut and when ask when it was mailed, she stays silent. At this point it’s almost two months into me trying to get the account settled. She makes statements about how she told me when it was mailed - all lies. I have the entire email communication saved. Finally after two months the check arrives at the bank. The warranty company paid right away. The bank posted also within a week. Seems the only delay is the dealer holding on to someone else’s money.I bought two cars from them. Never again. They are only nice when want something from you.
What a waste of time. Contacted this dealership by texting back and fort to lease a car. After agreed to the terms and payment amount, they asked me to come to the store to sign and get the car. I was very exited because, I wanted to surprise my wife.Anyway upon my arrival the sales person Micheal changed the price to $10 more on the monthly payment. I told them that, I do not want them to run my credit till we have a mutual agreement. So we agreed on all the terms and they even got my insurance and promised me to give me one year free HB parking. At the end the Manager came and changed the everything, stating that they will not take the car which they promised to. And than they he wanted to add another $40 on my payment. So I was very upset and left the dealership.Week later the they text me back and said they are willing to go with the deal and asked if I am still interested. I right away told them that, I am willing to go through the deal, but please talk to your manager than get back to me. After that, I heard nothing back.I also sent an email 3 days ago to their customer service email provided on yelp but no one replied back to me.Save your time and money, I know its hard to find a honest dealer but these people are fake and dihonest.
This review is for the Service Department.Julie was the most helpful service adviser ever! Her customer service was truly above and beyond :]Just the best!
Ive bought 5 cars in my life, each experience being more painful than the last. This past Saturday I had the great pleasure of working with Rich Harvey. He actually made the entire experience FUN! He is very knowledgeable and really takes the time to go over your needs and expectations to find the perfect fit. Ive never been so relaxed when making such an investment. My husband and I will go back time and again to Rich. Thank you Rich!!! You Rock!!
I went in because 2014 Subaru Forester flashing AT temp light, abs, hill traction light. it turn out brake light switch is intermittent. and it was covered under 150k mls CALIF emission warranty, so it was free labour and free parts. car has 125k mls. Also it seems Costco is referring me to McKenna Subaru.
Last time we purchased a vehicle here, we were just as happy with everything. Everyone in sales and service beat our expectations and surpassed the norm. We are looking forward to our next purchase here.
