This is by far the best gun shop in the surrounding area. The management and staff are top notch, and the owner always insists on keeping prices fair! The selection of products is superb. If you’re looking for anything firearms related, this is definitely the place to go!

Ive been in gun shops all over the country...this one is at the top of the list. From a retail perspective, clean and well organized. From a customer service standpoint...EVERY employee greeted me and was personable and helpful. I just moved to town and walked in on my day off, zero intention on buying anything. Honestly...I was so impressed with the staff...decided to go ahead and grab $650 worth of stuff. Great service, great shop. In Idaho Falls...Ill be shopping here for my needs and wants.

Wow! You can look at my reviews and see that I go to a LOT of gun shops all over the Pacific Northwest. This is definitely my new favorite, if only it wasnt 500 miles from home. The service, the selection, the prices and the atmosphere were all 5 + stars.Right now is a tough time to be in the firearm industry and many places are taking advantage of the Pandemic scare and shortages by hiking their prices. This is NOT one of those places. I was actually able to buy a hard to find gunpowder at LESS than what my local store was selling it for pre-pandemic and 30% less than what they are asking now.The Gentleman on the back counter was super friendly and the young guy on the front counter was awesome as well. Thank you for making a couple of out of towners (NOT out of State), feel right at home. Next time Im down that way, I will definitely bring more money.

As a novice gun buyer (who had done a bit of gun research on the web), I found the salesman, Lyndsey, knowledgeable and friendly. Even though there has been a general shortage of weapons across America, here I was able to examine several of the handguns that I had decided upon prior to my visit. There was no hurry or pressure by the Lyndsey and there were plenty of agents available to work with other customers.The entire encounter - questions, selection, and purchase - was a good experience and I do highly recommend the Gun Shop of Idaho Falls.

Love that they give a law enforcement discount and that they still had the 38 super ammo in stock that I was looking for. Nice clean store and probably one of the few gun shops that didn’t talk down to me because I’m a woman and assumed that I didn’t know much about guns. I’m a prior gunsmith and IPSIC shooter... Being talked down to usually makes me turn around and walk right out of a gun shop. Not the case here that’s for sure.

I have been frequenting the Gun Shop for years now and I think they have a great thing going. Overall good selection of firearms and ammunition as well as reloading equipment and tools. The best part is their location because its not in the busy part of Idaho Falls. Parking lot is small. :(

Super helpful staff, I drove all the way up from Twin Falls to buy a rifle. They treated me like an old friend that has been coming in the store for years. Matt was great in helping me with the choices and finding what was right as far as the scope and rifle I wanted. I will always be stopping by every time I’m in Idaho Falls.

Out-of-state resident here. Stopped by one morning and was told by three different employees (after explaining I was a resident of my state) that I’d be able to purchase a certain gun. When I came back to the store later in the day to make the purchase, I was in the middle of filling out the paperwork when a different employee told me I could no longer make the purchase because my state’s laws prohibited it.I understand that there’s not much they can do about the law, but it’s disappointing when different employees tell you different things.TLDR: A pretty nice place, but watch out for employees telling different stories about gun laws.

We really love our local, customer friendly gun shop. I pray they get more ammunition in. When 2020 started, there was a toilet paper shortage. Now there is an ammunition shortage.

I called to check on the availability and price of a gun Ive been looking for, I was told they had one and it was priced right, when I I got there to check it out thet had a $240 brace on it, I was told they would only sell it as a package deal, they had individual prices on the gun and brace, they should price it as a package deal, and educate their employees on what is available.I decided I would give them a chance to correct the mistake, Im happy to say they went above and beyond what they needed to, I highly recommend you talk to the manager if you have a problem, I truly believe they know the value of every customer and will do what they can to fix any problem. I wish I had taken the time to talk to the manager before I left upset. I wish more businesses had the same attitude as they do.

Went to exchange a holster but was told they will not do an exchange because it was on sale even though I had the intentions to purchase a much more expensive holster.

This is the best Gun shop in the area. Great customer service and have hard to find items. Prices are better than the big Corp stores.

Amazing shop! Their safe selection is hands down the best in town, they even carry vault doors! Emma was able to help us figure out which safes would suit our needs best, and answered every single question we had, plus more! We will for sure be back once we have decided on the one! My experiences with The Gun Shop have been overwhelmingly positive. Ive purchased firearms, ammunition, and accessories from them. Ive also completed FFL transfers through them. Theyre usually cheerful and do their best to be helpful.

I’m happy to say the last of several failed experiences with staff, they sound friendly and concerned but are clearly too busy for my business. The last most recent incident there I called to inquire about special ordering a rifle to which after three weeks I still haven’t heard anything back about. I was able however to get the same rifle at another shop in town within seven days without specifically asking for expedited shipping

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE: I went in as a first time gun buyer looking for a home defense gun. I had a great experience. The gentlemen that helped me was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, and considerate of my price range. He was willing to teach me how to work the gun as well, because I didnt have much experience. They gave me great options to choose from and I came away with a great purchase.

Not a bad little place at all. For one thing, they have a HUGE selection of gently used guns that they sell at a greatly discounted price, even when they have the same gun new just feet away.. Not a lot of businesses would undersell themselves like that, but they do. Another thing I like is that they put ammo on layaway, and they will hold some things for you, when you cant afford the layaway right then. I did have one somewhat negative experience with them, but it was so minor in my mind that I didnt even mention it. I bought what was supposed to be a new gun, but later found that some of the bluing had already been worn off (almost invisible) and a scratch had been made in the metal.. Usually, that would make me furious, but A. the gun was so awesome in every other way, it didnt really matter and B. the gun was one of those really hard to find ones so the used price was not even a hundred dollars less than the new. I thought about making an issue out of it, but I love the gun so much, I saw no point. It was probably just a rare clerical error that was made by a newbie. I have purchased 10 or so guns from them in the past, and have had zero negative experiences, so I just let this slide. All in all, a very positive experience.

Great if you want to stop in after driving for two hours when being told they have plenty of what you ask for in stock only to not have what you ask for in stock. Poor customer service as well.

Great customer service!! My shotgun was put in its case without being cleaned or dried after using it in the rain which caused a rust issue. I brought my gun in to get some advise on how to remove the rust. The salesman cleaned the rust off, oiled the gun, and applied some bluing and said no charge!!! Thanks! Thats how you take care of a customer.

These guys are fantastic. From triggers to reloading equipment and NFA items these guys have it and at a good price. What really sold me was the customer service a guy named Rob and a guy named Taylor help me with my purchasing decisions and work not pushy salesman but really wanted to help me

Love these guys they helped me with my purchase even to the point of telling me to come back in 5 days cause thats when a sale for the handgun was going on saved me 50 bucks, little intimidating going in to the store looking for a handgun but the sales person think his name was Josh set my mind at ease and helped me with choosing the best gun for what I needed. The only place in Idaho Falls Ill buy a gun. I like to shop around at all the shops in IF, and no other shop has a friendlier, more helpful staff. Deals are great, shopping experience is great, and they do everything they can to get you what you need.

Almost a warehouse style shop. Space seems too big for what they have to carry. Staff is very helpful with great info. They have .22 LR 40 gr solid tip target rounds from Federal available in 325 round boxes for 18 dollars. No limit. Not the ideal varmint round but a good plinker at 1200 fps. This works out to about 30 dollars for an equivalent 525 round box. They had a good selection of many different rounds. Would like to visit here again when I pass through.

Great guys when your buying a Gun,But when my “New non working Gun” had some issues they did little to nothing to help me. And suggested I go somewhere else to fix it. Called the store many times if we can work something out but little interest in helping me. Don’t recommend this place, last time I buy a gun here.

Probably the best place in town honestly. Staff are pretty nice and helpful, prices arent to bad either. Especially when they have items on sale. I always stop here for ammo first. I usually can find some good prices before heading to say Sportmans and Cabelas.

I have nothing but good things to say about The Gun Shop. I have purchased firearms and ammunition from them several times over the past year. Their prices have remained fair and relatively stable even when most of the other local shops have raised them substantially. In some instances I have been able to get identical ammunition from The Gun Shop for about half the price that some of the other shops have been charging. This isnt because they get some sort of special buy on ammunition that the other shops arent getting. They just dont price gouge their customers like some of the other shops have been able to do because of supply shortagesThe staff has always been helpful and is very knowledgeable and courteous. Whenever I am looking to purchase a new firearm or stock up on ammunition, I always go to The Gun Shop first. They have earned my business and loyalty.

They get a lot of my business due to the military and law enforcement discount even though it just covers sells tax it means a lot to me. But I do recommend you avoid the place like the plague on Fridays and Saturdays its just too busy,you cant even call them on Fridays and Saturdays. I recommend going there during a weekday.

The staff here is the best. No only are they more than willing to work with you they really care about doing the right thing. I has an issue with a gun they took in used, once they were contacted about it they offered me a replacement with out being prompted. Every other shop i have ever gone to would have said well you bought it as is, you are out of luck, but not The Gun Shop these guys, they really care, they will be my first go to for now on.

My last visit to the Gun Shop was not a great experience. I have purchased several guns from them in the past and the service was always great. The staff was great but the manager was less than stellar. He seemed he was annoyed that he had to come out and speak to me. His demeanor was curt and dismissive and was an unpleasant experience. I still bought the gun but in the future I may be looking elsewhere.

The people up front are nice. Ive dealt with this store before. The gun counter is what youd expect nothing special. I hear they do treat their female employees pretty poorly though which is sad.

Well it was my first time purchasing my own rifle, as I went in a older gentleman helped me set up the paperwork, and made a comment saying how he hopes I dont use it to shoot up a school. Since then I have not went back due to his comment.

I have walked into this place many times usually just to buy ammo because they have quite the stock. However I bought a 300 WIN Mag from here for 207.56 Yea it was used but they made sure everything was tip top shape and good to go. I own quite a Few guns but that by far is my favorite and these guys are great with guns, customers, and they have patientce. Even though it is small they carry alot. I will be buying guns from here in the future

Best gun store in town, only place I consider to purchase firearms and ammo

We put a deposit on a gun on November 17th through the rep and they said it would be ready for pickup in November 26th. After not hearing anything, we called on November 30th. They weren’t able to give us any answers and said they’d call us in the morning, but never did. Called again on December 6th and once again, he was unable to tell us anything and said he’d call us back. He never did so I called on December 7th. Payton was who I talked to and he was much more helpful than the previous two guys. He offered to make it right and threw in a couple boxes of ammo and personally made sure to have his buddy follow up the next day. The gun arrived on December 7th, so we drove to IF from Rexburg to pick it up the next morning. The rep only shipped the gun, not the package that was also bought, so we’ll have to come back for that. And no one told us we needed to have a government issued piece of mail to pick it up even when we asked what we’d need (we couldn’t even use a government contracted paystub), so we couldn’t pick it up after all. Extremely frustrated that it’s been 2 weeks since we were supposed to be able to pick it up and now we can’t until we drive all the way back to Rexburg to grab a piece of mail. Yes, we got a good deal on the gun, but not worth it for the 2 week late gun and bad communication from them. Extremely frustrated with The Gun Shop and we’re still waiting on the rest of the package (it’s currently December 21st).Update: The package arrived the end of December. After talking to more people at The Gun Shop over the course of the few months of dealing with them, it seems like the complications were due to the rep, not The Gun Shop. The Gun Shop did everything they could to try to make it right once the transaction was finalized, which we appreciated.

I have bought all of my firearms from them and have even price shopped on ammo. The only real competitor is Cabellas due to their selection, but if your willing to wait they will order it in and almost always for cheaper.

Traded in a gun for a Springfield xdm several months ago and feel that they gave me a fair price for the trade in while giving me a great deal on the XDM. I have also bought a Ruger Ar-15 from them which looks great. I have not had the chance to fire the Ar-15 yet but if it shoots as good as the hand gun then it should be great. They can be very busy at times but they do try to take care of people as quickly as they can. They took the time to show me different guns which I could use for an anniversary gift for my wife. They have no problem with people who do research and dont buy it immediately. It takes time for people to come up with $500+ and they seem to care about people getting the right guns for their needs.Again Great place to go to.
