I have rented at Indio in the past and saw their work volume. Very limited yet I tried to book via phone and sat on rot for over 28 minutes. I highly recommend Palm Desert U-Haul instead

We were waiting for 30 min for someone to come outside to connect the trailer even though we already went inside to check in and paid. When we ask, the lady in charge forgot about it when she was very busy on her personal phone . Please don’t waist the customer time if you don’t want to do a job that you apply to. Go home

Renting a moving truck in Southern California is nearly impossible right now! I was supposed to pick my 26 truck up at a different location but the previous customer decided to extend their rental. The only truck available was in Indio and it was over 5 hours later than the time I had selected. Needless to say at this point, I was not happy!!! But my checkout was fast and I was scheduled to have it for 2 days.I returned it after 24 hours but before my 48 hours were up and Jerry helped check the truck back in. I explained that I knew it wasnt their fault but the change of location added miles to my trip that I hadnt planned for. He looked at everything and only charged me for one day and took $60 off for the added miles. He understands what great customer service is all about!Jerry, thank you for taking a very stressful situation which caused a stressful move and ending it on a very positive note!!!

I don’t know why my wife forced me to come here. Horrible experience again. You rent something and it’s not there but what you need and can use is in the parking lot is rented by someone else but you cannot use it for a couple hours because it’s reserved? What? They aren’t here and we are here now picking up what you said we had reserved but we cannot use what you have because someone else has reserved that for later and are not here? Just another horrible experience at U-haul of Indio.

Worst Experience Ever!!! - Shame on You U-Haul!!!My car was broken into in the u-Haul parking lot. Somebody threw the rock through the window inside U-Haul parking lot. Nobody called me including Indio police ( way to go IPD). I never leave my car at any of business like that by the way but I have a 6 month and a 6 year old to take care of and nobody to drive me there.When I asked about parking there the friendly staff suggested to park in the first spot closest to them so they can keep an eye on it. Next day when I showed up the staff gave me the incident report number with the IPD. I requested to speak with the manager and manager refused to come and talk to me.I then proceeded to take pictures of my car ( one of them posted here) and also took pics of their office from inside out as there was no posted sign of any kind warning customer of the break ins.Manager was hanging outside when I approached him and asked him about what should be our next step. He said there is nothing he can do. I tried to ask him about the policies in terms of Customers legal rights and he suddenly asked me to leave premises.I proceeded to get my final bill and while I was in there he asked me to leave the premises (office) immediately before I can be charged with trespassing.My only comment while leaving was This is how you treat your customers I am posting this story in other blogs as well ( read by around 40 K people). I will never be using U-Haul ever again unless there is absolutely no other choice available. I would rather pay more and be treated respectfully.WI reported to corporate later on and they reminded me of their policies and a soft apology.No words on the treatment of customer while customers property is being vandalized.They have no decency, no respect and no appreciation for the customer. Manager in Indio location is the worst manager I have ever met in any business so far and clearly shows company culture and lack of training( or no training at all).Please do yourself a favor and save your dignity and go to other location after reviewing their feedback or avoid this company at all costs. I have been to this location numerous times buying boxes, takes bubble wrap etc. I have yet to have a bad situation in the.last.year.Customer service is friendly, helpful, willing to help you decide what you will actually needIf you purchase to many boxes you can return the, No hassle.

Do to uhaul truck breakdown we were stuck here for 6+hours. The manager and staff were amazing. Extremely nice, supportive and helpful. Mgr Laura and her crew especially Juan were awesome!!

Hit and miss here. It can take forever just to get propane. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they just look at you and don’t care how long you’ve been waiting.

The only reason I didnt give 1 star is because the girl at the front desk was awesome. She was patient even though I was clearly mad. Other than that, U-Haul needs to get it together! Their corporate setup is terrible to start with. To talk to someone is as frustrating as going to the DMV! I was on hold for almost and hour, only to find out they never took care of my location change after all! I get my reservation set (finally) and prepaid. Well, it is set for tomorrow, and they called asking if I could come in today instead. I told them I have appointments all day, but if its fast, I could come in. The man assured me it would take about 30 minutes. I agreed to come in, and here I am. I was told to come in anywhere between 1 and 2. I arrived at 1:16 to find out the hitch installation guy wasnt even in! They had to call him to come in. It is now 2:11 and he barely just pulled my car in to get started! I should have been out of here by now but instead Im sitting outside...still waiting...and likely missing my next appointment. The issues start at corporate for sure. If corporate cant get things straight, how can the individual locations!? Oh!!! AND they overcharged me by $5 and cant figure out how to correct it!

Staff was polite, it took too long to complete order, even though I reserved online several times, I always have to go though everything again. Should be a simpler way. Especially if you do reserve online. Takes too long

Waited 30 minutes to get everything settled and ready to go. During the time we were trying to get paperwork filled out they were socializing and doing other work. She didn’t have pen markers ready, and her mouse ran out of battery mid transaction.

If you need propane filled even with older RV models I‘d go for this place. Customer service is very friendly and these guys are super funny. 10/10 would recommend!

This is the worst Uhaul location I have ever been to in the United States! I have used Uhaul multiple times all over the US, and this is by far the worst I have ever seen.I booked an appointment 1 month in advance in order to install a hitch on my car for a cross country drive. I picked a specific day that worked for me and a specific time (9am). However, the day before my appointment, I receive an automated text message telling me my appointment time was at 7.15am.I therefore called the location and spoke to the manager who told me they have me in the system at 7.15am. Meanwhile I am looking at my confirmation email from 1 month ago that says my appointment is at 9am.I tell the manager that I cannot come in at 7.15am which is why I had reserved my appointment time 1 month in advance, and he says there is nothing he can do because he had another appointment at 10am. I ask if there is another day available, and of course no other appointments available for over a week.I therefore had to rearrange everything to be able to make it in earlier because the manager/owner was unwilling to make it right for me. I get there at 7am on the day of my appointment only to find out the customer in front of me is also there for a hitch installation at the same time. So now, everything is messed up once again. I ask the owner if he would be able to rent me a pick up truck free of charge so that I can get to work since they messed up all the appointment times, and he says there is nothing he can do for me, and walks away. Really? Nothing you can do? Is that how you treat customers these days? Pathetic.Not only did they have no idea how to schedule people efficiently, but on top of that the owner was so unfriendly and couldnt care less about the customer. His lack of flexibility and willingness to make his customer satisfied was evidenced in the way I was treated as well other customers present at the time.The thing is, places like these dont care about their customers because they know we need the service, and by the time you experience their poor behavior, you are already commited and there is nothing you can do. So the only thing we can do as customers is leave bad reviews and encourage other people to take their business elsewhere. I also contacted uhaul customer service to file a complaint with the corporate office.Avoid this place at all costs!

Tried the 24 hour mobile pick up and did not work. Never had an issue at TNT delivers. But at Indio Uhaul they gave us either a code that didn’t work or a lock that didn’t work. Paul, the guy listed as our 24 hour contact was unavaible for our numerous calls. Uhaul customer service was no help. Have been sitting in the parking lot for an hour and a half trying to get the lock off the truck to get the keys. Will not budge. Incredibly inconvenient when we’ve scheduled movers to help who are now waiting. Would not recommend the 24 hour mobile pick up from this location.

I had a trailer hitch installed on my 2018 Audi Q5 at U-Haul. During the process the ‘side assistant’ function was disconnected. I went to Audi to have it corrected. They said whenever the bumper is changed that they have to recalibrate which will cost around $500. I hope that U-Haul would share this information with any future clients befor the purchase of their bumper.

I honestly believe that the Uhaul of Indio is probably one of the most well run stores I have been to. The manager is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met while the workers are always working hard and never fail to have a smile on their faces. I will always return as long as the store remains the same! They all deserve raises for thier spectacular work!

So b4 i start to ramble>> my experience renting a car trailer was incredible. Ms Monreal was efficient and not an upselling person i normally experience at rental places and Oscar who handles the equipment set up is special.Not only does he have the patience of Job, but he should probably be a person who dismantles bombs as cool and collected he is. He put up with my rambling and showed me everything necessary to have a successful experience. In todays world of people just reading the script and not taking care of the customer . these folks are old Skol

Thanks the privilege to drive another one of u-hauls new 26 footers !!! This is the 5th or 6th time on a one way rental and received one of the new ones like 1,000 miles new. The location owner was very friendly and nice anyone in the area needing a truck should rent from this location

If i could give no stars I would. Customer service was super fake. Nothing was on time and installation was improperly done for a hitch. The manager/ owner is a liar and was caught lying in conversation by contradicting himself. Go elsewhere and schedule elsewhere.
