This half price bookstore hits a home run every time! I bought an excellent cook book for $7.99 +tax and it was originally priced at $14.99. It wasnt an antique either. It was copywriter in 2016! If you cant find what youre searching for, just ask them to do a used book search for it. If they locate a book for you, they will even let you check it out, before your purchase. What a great business and great folks running it too!

Really nice Half Price location. I hadnt been in a while, but ended up getting lots of books (including a Joyce Meyer one) and movies, too. And I couldnt find my Teachers 10% off Loyalty Card, but the cashier sweetly replaced it with a new one and let me use it on this purchase. Definitely recommend this store.

Had a bad experience on this visit. Carried in a box of books only to discover that I didnt have a picture ID so they would not accept them. I carried them back out to my car...

Manager David went on a power trip and over stepped boundaries reached out to corporate. The worst customer service David needs some training. I will never be back unethical business practices. Take my my money and business to a professional book store there are so many good ones in Texas! I was so glad my co workers and family had my back they all refuse to step back into any half price book store. We all get together on weekends and have found some great book stores with A1 customer service.

Good location for some stuff. The manager is always happy to insult you with an approved offer on expensive electronics. Even if the employee buying at the moment tells him they should offer the customer more. I always try to sell at Recycled Books in Denton after my experiences at this location.

The best in MY OPINION OF ALL THE HALF PRICED BOOKS IN TEXAS! GOOD QUALITY AND COLLECTION! IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE NEW TO THE HALF PRICED BOOKS SCENE I WOULD DEFINITELY TRY THIS ONE IF I WERE YOU ITS GREAT!!!

Half price books as a whole has went down hill especially this location definitely will not be back.

This HPB location doesnt offer much when you sell books and media. Ive gotten better prices at other locations.

Easy process to sell books and offer was in line with expectations.

The 2 box restriction is tough when you have 20 boxes from an estate. Decided to donate 18 of twenty. Then they tell me that my Home Depot medium shipping box counts as a large and they cant process. So I wound up donating all of it. Probably a great deal if you only have a couple of books to sell.

I’ve been in here over 20 minutes and I’ve had yet for anybody to speak to me or ask me if I need any assistance. I guess customer service is to be requested. Not many urban books or authors.

I was looking for the Hunger Games books, and didnt see that they had them.

These Half Price book locations are a rip off. Took over 70 good clean DVD’s and about 10 excellent books to them for resale and got offered $21.90.However, if you go look at there prices they are anything but Half Price! You’d be better off just donating your stuff to a good charity and use the tax incentive. That’s the last time I will step foot in any of there stores. Someone should open a store and compete with them and call it “Real Half Price Books!”

Service is excellent at this store. Wish the selection of children’s books was a bit bigger. I come here to find books for my toddler and sometimes we don’t find what we are looking for but the staff is always pleasant and helpful.Occasionally if you ask they will give a markdown if book is damaged and I appreciate that. Literacy is important and I thank them for making books affordable!

Great place, this place from the moment you walk in is an experience. People who work here are friendly, and they help. This place has made learning for my kids fun. They have an amazing program for kids that when they read they account for their time and write it down. This way they earn a coupon for their next book purchase. This has made reading fun and my kids have found books that they enjoy. Awesome job guys, keep it up....

Very friendly and welcoming staff. A large variety of books always being replenished. Reasonable price. You will have fun finding hidden “reasonably priced” gems in this store. I love visiting this place again and again because of nice staff. It is all that matters.

The staff was exceptionally nice and the store was amazingly clean like a library. If you love the smell of a library books, paper, books and more books then you will feel at home once you walk through the door. I only gave a 3 star rating due to prices, they advertise as a half-price store and truly most items are not...more like a few dollars off. However, I would recommend if you are looking for to complete a series and you cant find it on Amazon.

Good collection for kids. We bought a good book for half the price. We also bought a puzzle for my kid and returned it after a day since some pieces were missing. So if youre buying a boxed item, better check it once before bringing home.

You know that book that you were thinking about cant really remember the name but its on the tip of your tongue the fine folks at Half Price Books have either heard of it or I can find it for you. This location has a fine selection of used books as well as some of the most interesting collectible books Ive seen in a long time. Do yourself a favor if youre in the area check it out.

I keep seeing half price books closing down. Im glad to see this one is still open. Somewhat smaller than other half price books, but its still a great place to visit and find books. The inside is kept up nicely. There are a lot of places to eat and visit near by, so it is worth the trip.

I adore the selection here and the prices cant be beat! Even looking for computer science literature I was able to find a good selection of topics to chose from which Ive never found anywhere else really. Plus, they have events such as their craft night which make this more than just a store location but a community location as well 😁 Ill be coming here for a long time for my book buying needs.

The half price book location in Northwest highway has a large selection of books, records and novelty items. Often times they have a discount section where you can find some real deal. Do forget to visit the Black Forest coffee shop, great eats and drinks.

Friendly staff. Smaller than their flagship store, but still has a good selection. Its quiet. Well organized. I had no trouble finding what I needed and getting out fast. The books I bought were indeed half priced.

Always loved HPB but they have instituted a 30-06 and a 30-07 policy where I and my friends cannot legally carry in their store even tho we are licensed. I refuse to leave my equipment in a car while shopping. Otherwise this would be a 5 star company.

The perfect place for cheaper books. I visited this place today with my wife and two kids. A female staff (I don’t remember the name) was real helpful who helped us to find books we were looking for. We found the books and we were looking for at a cheaper price. At the checkout, a gentleman asked us if we had any discount coupon. They also offered a 2019 calendar for free. Good trip!

I always enjoy wandering through here. Their collection of rare/leather bound books is rather awesome and I have found some that rounded out much collection nicely. Sometimes you can find some cheap things but by and large the prices reflect the area. Still I find it fun to go here and try to find something awesome. I have never sold anything to them but I cannot fathom the return is all that high. Their comic/graphic novel section as well as their table top RPGs are wonderful.

They have a lot of books, especially older ones that you cant find anywhere! However there are a lot of books that they dont have. But I must say it is nice to have a place to go and find books that you cant find any more! They also have DVDs, notebooks, and various other items and trinkets!

This is a surprisingly large and well stocked HPB. You wouldnt think by looking at the small storefront that this place expands so far back. There is always a gigantic selection of books for kids, adults, and everyone in between, and its not always the same old books, movies, and collectibles. They bring in fresh new arrivals all the time and I like to go here from time to time just to see whats new. I always come away with at least a few new books or dvds, and at those prices, it never breaks my bank.

Thank the library gods we got a HPB back in Irving! I think its the only bookstore in town, too. Great place for getting gifts for people. Books, but also old CDs and movies, random collectibles like patches and pins, and brand new board games for grown up nerds (get The Thing).

Good collection of books, esp to teachers like me. Staff are very polite. They will let you know of their promos and rewards to make you pay less. It’s overall a great place to look for otherwise very pricey books elsewhere.

Its so good that there is at least one physical location you can still go and buy books at! My wife and I love Half Price Books, the prices are awesome, and the staff is usually very happy to talk books with you and guide you toward a new author you might like.

Despite being a small store, they have a bit of everything and they have most genres. The video games were priced pretty fairly being 5-20 mostly (for older systems). Their trade in is not really worth it as you make barely anything but Its better than nothing. The employees were nice, helpful, and fast.

The most best bookstore in the area

Even though this store is the nearest to my house, its selection is a bit subpar. Its a nice area but what gets brought in must be terrible because the quality of selection is a lot less than other area HPBs, and Ive been to all of them. I wont be back after the pandemic anyway.I used to travel a lot and congratulated myself on having visited every HPB at least once. I went so much I was friends with some of the staff at different stores. Now during COVID-19, the bookstore is closed but Ive reached out to some of those people and have been broken-hearted. While junior employees were furloughed, more senior employees have been fired and told if they re-apply theyll start with no seniority and their benefits will reset. I liked going to HPB because I felt that even though they were big, they were like a local bookstore, but bigger. I used to accept the low prices for used books as a way to help keep the store open and employees paid. Now I realize Im just going to another corporation that treats their employees like expendable garbage when profits are important. I realize this was a great time to do this because customers didnt get to see that all of a sudden a bunch of the employees were gone and wonder why. I also imagine they are hoping that they employees they call back will be desperate enough to keep their jobs theyll keep their mouths shut. Ive probably spent $20,000 at HPB over the last 10 years and Im ashamed now. I wont ever be back. Its time to go to look for some real local bookstores.

I returned 10 books recently purchased from here for 7.99 each. The buyback amount I was quoted was $.40.

I have been going to this location for nearly 6 years. They have a pretty good selection, a fairly large clearance section, and they have a lot of comic books for my husband to check out. I will continue to come to this location everybody is super friendly.

If you ever need to sell your books, games, DVDs, or VCRs this is the place to go. Wait time is usually 30 minutes to get cashed out.

They are so welcoming and kind. It can take some time to figure out the layout of the place. The prices are good and the staff are helpful.

Half Price Books is almost always where I go to find books. My thing is that I never know exactly what Im looking for, so the reduced price for used books allows me to select and purchase multiple books on the same subject for my budget. During this particular visit, I bought a total of 5 books at discounted prices, which reduced the chances of not selecting the book which best suited my interest. Trinkets and toys, games, etc. are available, as well.

I ordered a book from here, very reasonably priced which I was pretty pumped to get. When I got it it looked like the packaging had been friction burned and about half the book was fused together. Not their fault at all, thats the post office and I understand that. I called them and they said they would be happy to replace it if I would bring it in. I made the 2 hour drive from Waco to return the book under the premise it would be EXCHANGED. When I got here I wad told they would have to order another copy and it would be another week. No attempt was made to make up for my losses here. I was planning on starting the adventure for my group on Friday so I offered to buy the damaged copy of the book and made an offer of $5 because I was going to have to steam the pages apart and it would be pretty much worthless after that but it would get me through until the other copy got here. I was told they would have to talk to the manager and he wasnt there. They could have offered expedited shipping or any number of things and I would have been fine. In 20 years of customer service I have never seen a business care less as to how displeased a customer was. 2nd and Charles is a much better store.

It took a few minutes but once I found my section I was in nerd heaven!

Staff was pleasant and informative and you really cant beat their prices. And the quality of the books are very exceptional.

My wife loves going there to get movies and books for the kids. I love it because it gets quiet for 10 minutes.
