This is such a great library... Idk what to say. Good books, good tables, good events, good people, good place.

The staff is knowledgeable, friendly & willing to assist in finding the correct information or material.I enjoy visiting this library, the large print section is huge with a great variety.The library is having some outside revamping done,I need to say this has not stopped them from taking an abundance of pandemic precautions, including giving out masks for grownups and children.

Got in and out of there ... those are good people... they help when asked...I was able to check out my books shortly after I got there

Clean, quiet, bright. Lots of books as you would expect. Got my daughter a card and found out theres a summer reading program she wants to do so were really excited about that

FREE Wi-Fi is the best thing here. This is one of the hidden gem near this area. They provide FREE memberships to residents of Irving. The signup process is painless and takes couple minutes. The library has many events going on throughout the week for kids, teens and adults alike. They provide many services bug some of the top services i like are :1. Free book rental ( which is obvious)2. Study rooms3. Computer labs4. Movies and audiobooks5. Great parking space6. Free Online accounts with membership like hooplaI love the environment here. Everyone is friendly and go above and beyond to help you. Free wifi is a bit slow for HD videos but it’s great for everything else.

Id give the library five stars if library employees werent so inconsiderate about where they park. Why have charging stations at all if the spaces in front and around them are constantly used by employees who dont drive electric vehicles. Im sure the revenue was a justification for the solar installation. Image of my spend to date is attached.

Nice library in a good location right off a major highway 183. The staff is helpful and the computer lab is fair size with 30 computers give or take. Good for small group study even if the study rooms arent available.

There are so many book choices to choose from before COVID came and ow you can still go online log-in and hold any book and wait for it to arrive at your library and pick it up! I love this system even though its a common system.

I will never come here again after getting stereotyped. The staff here are prejudice for no reason. There was some people that came in before some people and they ended up turning them around, but then let some other people that wasn’t the same color of them in. I will never come back this horrible place again.

This building is very nice. I like being there. Its quiet, bright, and easy to find a spot in the computer lab or at a reading spot. Ive never seen it too full and I always see some sort of community event taking place. The staff is very sweet and helpful -- all of them. I love going there.

This is my favorite library!Its clean, has a huge selection, and the staff are helpful and friendly. They have a great online hold system and I usually dont have to wait more than a week or two for my books to come in. They also have a super quick self-checkout that I love!

A good library with a good Dvd and Boom selection. Many computers and nice chairs and areas to sit. Its pretty clean and aesthetically pleasing. I’ve been here many times to check out comics, manga and some dvds. Very nice and they are pretty helpful. I always liked the soft couch cubes. They have many different little programs that I never go to because I’m busy and I don’t live in the area. However there are quite a few I would go to like the gardening one they had once.

I don’t think they are very courtesous, Usually a library is full of resources to assist if you need an avenue of knowledge to channel in the community . I’m new to the area and when I ask simple questions they seem to not know anything. I went to the other locations in Irving and got Superior service... I’m not racially sensitive at alI, but I feel they don’t offer the same service experience to people of color as they would a white person..

I am glad this library is close to my house, the staff really helpful except two old ladies(Tallest and the shortest(used to be the manager of the branch till Rachael come...) have hard time to communicate with users/Residents. nice environment to be.

Horrible customer service.Do not hire uncompassionate and unhelpful people to be a community helper.I had to renew my library card and was told to use personal mail when I FIRST registered my card.During renewal, I was questioned if I was being honest and trustful which was distasteful (despite having my Irving library card in hand).Then I was denied for NOT having a business mail even though I was told and was accepted in using a personal letter.If you are going to serve the community make sure are understanding, flexible and considerate especially to low income families.You serve US, yet make it so hard for families to use our given right, like the local library.

Lots of parking but couldnt go in as it was closed due to covid.

The library is a nice facility, but some of the staff members have been rude and acted as though it was a bother to assist me. One of the older staff members threatened to remove my privileges of using the study room. She seems unhappy with her job. On the other hand, there are very nice staff members who are pleasant, and very helpful. I will continue to frequent this library because I think overall, it is a friendly environment.

West Irving Public library was once a place of safety and peace, till the toxic Roblox kids attacked. A few years have passed since the fall of this beautiful place. There are kids who run around and show little respect to others around them. The age group for the teens computer should be older (11 year old shouldnt be there). The staff should take more action against loud visitors.

Place is nice no doubt about that but one of the staff member is very unfriendly and just as I read other comment on the review section, not at all wanting to help people and have bothered face. The lady was having her lunch probably and didnt wanna help and just wanted me to like go and leave her alone. Really?? you do not need to work if you dont want to work.

I have been visiting the library of Irving since I moved to Irving almost 2 years ago. I have 3 children. The 3 of them love books and one of their favorite places to visit are libraries. Valentina Mía is my youngest one. She is 7 years old and she has Down Syndrome. She is loving and she is always smiling. As anyone can understand she has developmental delays, and we need to be really patient some times in order to educate her and help her to learn rules. Today in the West Irving library I had a really sad situation that made me think how is it possible that a library, that is or at least should be a very important place, hired a person so insensitive, cruel and rude to deal with public, specially children. The elderly lady that was on charge of the library mistreated my children, specially Valentina because they were closing and Valentina refused to leave the building. As I explained she has a condition that precludes her some times to understand some things. She thought that she was playing and running away from me to avoid leaving a place that she loves. This lady that refused to give her name and that was in charge of the library, yelled at my children and said that she was to call 911 because a 7 years old girl with Down Syndrome refused to leave the building, actually her favorite place. I was trying to catch my girl and trying to be really careful to avoid hurting her, because as I said, she is a girl with Down Syndrome. My children were really nervous listening the lady and were afraid of her. My children felt humiliated, they felt so disappointed and powerless upon the situation. People in the library should be trained and capable of dealing with unexpected situations like this one with patience, compassion and politeness. Situations like this one can make a child change the way he or she feels about a place like the library. I have worked hard since they were born to inculcate in my children love and passion for reading. And this lady in about 5 or 6 minutes made them feel unwelcome and humiliated in a place that they just love. People like this lady should not be allowed to work with public.

The building itself is not only a amazing piece of architecture but well-planned and extremely oriented towards the community, not only that but it actually is The first LEED certified Public library in Texas, meaning it is entirely green and its air-conditioning systems and all other systems are powered by its own solar panels and geotchermowells. It generates more electricity than it consumes and actually puts power back into the grid along with flexible hours on Sundays and weekends, on Thursdays and Tuesdays its open until 9 PM period the best part however is the staff extremely courteous dedicated and helpful, they understand that books invite all and constrain none. In addition, there are resources for jobseekers, meeting rooms and multi purpose rooms for meeting studying and the use of the citizens of hurting or anyone who happens to need a place to work.there are a number of activities for both the youth ranging from young children all the way to teenagers and adults book clubs and literacy and out reach efforts. In the summertime its an excellent place to cool off read a great book or search the web, and is truly a testament to the citizens of Irving and the future which we seek to build.

Nice design. The only negative is that one of the reference staff seems to be perpetually unfriendly or unhelpful. They usually look up after making you wait there for like 2 minutes ... with a smurk they mutter ....Yes??? ie They act as if you are bothering them. The correct customer service response is how can I assist you today?. Dont hire people who hate serving the public. The checkout folks are very nice.
