Before the pandemic this location of 12th Avenue Cafe not only had great tasting food, the quality was excellent as well. For example the Hamburger Steak meal was fresh formed ground beef made into a patty and grilled to perfection with fresh vegetables and homemade mash potatoes with gravy. That appears to longer be the case considering my meal which was essentially a Costco like preformed previously frozen hockey puck of ground beef patties, canned vegetables which tasted like they were microwaved and mashed potatoes likely from a box with gravy that could have been from a packet from the grocery store.During my most recent order (see pictures) I was not prepared for the gravy laden monstrosity pictured. I dont expect a gourmet meal when getting take out delivered from a service, yet I do expect a good meal. Once I scarped most of the gravy from the meatloaf (pictured) it was adequate but again not like they once were before the Covid pandemic.I understand, restaurants need to make a profit, this is especially the case during the pandemic, yet I still expect a meal better than what I could have made in my kitchen.
The breakfast really stands out here. I recently tried the California scramble, which was fantastic. The house made salsa that goes with this is a winner. Its my favorite breakfast! Nice folks work here too.

Food was good but they neither confirmed or cancelled my online pickup order, leaving me waiting for 30min. I understand they are busy during COVID, but cant they just decline order or stop allowing new orders?
The food is good, but this place like a lot of others mark themselves as available for delivery orders on sites like grubhub, and then promptly cancel and refund your order. Why even put yourself as active on a delivery site if youre just going to instantly cancel every order that comes in? Get it together.

This is the 4th time 12th ave cafe has gotten my DoorDash order wrong. Needless to say I will NOT be returning. They substitute items without calling and asking first. So, today, I added specific instructions no to do that and chose pick up over delivery, just to be sure they don’t mess up again. Guess what, they sure substituted my vegetable medley for those horrible fried potatoes they call spuds. I always end up putting them in the trash. I let the woman at the hostess stand know and she decided to argue with me and yell while I was walking out: “You should’ve added a note if you didn’t want a substitute!”, which I chose to ignore and just kept walking. I did add a note, you nutcase! It’s not my fault you’re incapable of following simple directions! To add insult to injury, I found when I got home that my order was also missing the avocado I ordered and paid for.
Restaurant cancelled our order with no explanation or phone call. Very unprofessional. During normal business hours (10:50am). Tried to call restaurant to find out what happened. Call was ignored. Also, very unprofessional. We will not be ordering/eating here again.Also, the only reason we attempted to order from this place was due to limited options. Our previous experiences showed us that the food is absolutely nothing special and Ive seen (in person) employees act in a rude way towards other customers. We stupidly thought to give them another try for the kids.

They were very busy but we were glad we were patient. Food was excellent! We just so happened to bump into this cafe. It reminded me of..well..a cafe. On their menu, they have a couple of neat stories that made it feel special. We didnt realize they owned Eggs & us, which closed due to a fire. WE LOVED that place and was surprised to see the eggs & us menu along with the 12th ave cafe menu. We will be back!

Ive only had breakfast here, but this is one of our go-to spots when I come to town to visit my family. Its sort of one part diner and one part family restaurant. Amazingly, the breakfast foods they serve should be greasy, but somehow they arent. Large omelets, large pancakes... just what a breakfast place should be. Good spot to take the kids, obviously!

The best bacon blue cheese burger ever. The 12th Avenue Spurs are a great version of Potatoes OBrien with peppers and onions. The thin cut French fries are seasoned before they go into the oil so the texture is a coating that adds extra crunch. This is a destination restraunt that I weddings recommend for anyone echo is on the Seattle area.

Service and quality have deteriorated tremendously since the ownership change. Huge disappointment. Waited excessively for a pickup order placed well ahead of time. The restaurant was disorganized, dirty, and generally unpleasant.

This has always been a great breakfast place for us, but with the addition of outdoor dining it really stretches its legs and turns a sunny morning into something even more delightful. We also loved that they added both staff & some rotating favorites from eggs n us while they recover from the loss due to fire.

Even in the time of COVID the 12th Avenue Cafe delivers quality and quantity. I ordered the medium Vegetana. It was enough for 2! Next time Ill order the small. Took home half of the order. Will be great for another breakfast tomorrow. I highly recommend 12th Avenue Cafe!!!

My French Dip, au jus and green salad were all in the same plastic container designed to hold heat.My salad was steamy and disgusting and the French Dip was quite dry.

Foods not bad, however thier take out/delivery service orders are terrible. Second time Ive ordered eggs Benedict to have it show up without hollandaise sauce. I appreciate the idea of putting it on the side, but if you are not actually going to put the hollandaise sauce in the bag thats worse. Its inedible without the sauce. This is the second time in a row this has happened... There were several other issues with the order, but that was the most egregious. Its covid and in door seating is closed, so I would expect you to put more care into your to go orders then normal... disappointing.
Order the quiche for lunch. It was the smallest piece of quiche Ive ever received. It was great but it was the size of a business card

Very friendly staff, speedy and attentive service, and tasty food! I had the chicken fried steak with gravy and over medium eggs. The eggs were perfectly done, the steak was well above what I usually get at a diner, very delicious. As was the gravy! Id definitely go back.

Had high hopes for this place since I have always seen it busy and has lots of good reviews online. Coffee was bad, mug had lipstick from a previous patron, knife was dirty, pancakes were rubbery and did not taste good at all, to-go box was dirty inside, smelled weird in the restaurant. Will never go back. IHOP would have been a better choice.

Normally my go to place, but ordered the fish and chips and the 2pcs of fish came out the same size as a chicken nuggets. Very disappointed they would serve it like that and charge what they charge. The service is always good just sad about the fish chips here.

I went to pick up Fathers Day breakfast for my husband, kids and myself. Upon arrival, I was over looked and the gentleman standing behind me was asked if he had been assisted yet instead of me. I spoke up and then was acknowledged. The food was mediocre at best. There was literally no seasoning on the steak, eggs (evaporated) or potatoes. The French Toast tasted like it came out of the freezer section. We were so disappointed. Especially because of all the great reviews and it being Fathers Day. Honestly, IHOP would have been better.

Service here is always wonderful. However the food is lackluster. It’s not dreadful, everything tasted good but I can get the same meal for better quality at other restaurants in town. The coffee is mediocre at best. And please forgive the TMI but whenever I’ve eaten here my breakfast vacates within thirty minutes.
My meal was great! But my significant other was disappointed with the small portions of his meal. This is a wonderful place to take grandparents.
Food was excellent and the Montana scramble is no joke! Just look a great hook cooked meal with incredible portions. Jason was very friendly, kind and attentive. Loved joking around and laughing with him. Paid attention to my kids and listened patiently to them as they ordered for themselves. Thank you for a great meal and everyone greeting us with smiles. Our waitress was great! Her name is Diane. Its the little things really. She filed up my tea pot with hot water without me having to ask. We got our food quick even though they were busy. All the staff were interacted with were very friendly.
This is a nice small restaurant tucked away near Target in the shopping center. The staff was very friendly and they kept my coffee cup filled every time they walk by.They had a great breakfast menu and some good specials on the board behind the counter. The one thing you should know about this place is that when youre done eating you need to take your check and cash out verses giving your card or cash to the waitress.
The place is nice and comfortable and has a sixties feel to it. My burger did not have any flavor to it, and I had to add salt to give it some flavor. The bacon quiche was good though. So it could just have been that my burger was not as good as I expected it to be.
I have been meeting my dad for breakfast for the last 15 years here. Always great food and great service. They have coffee outside, if you have to wait. But well worth the wait. Just a bit cramped.

Always grade A service whenever we get here. Thats why there is a 15 minute wait whenever you want to try breakfast ot brunch. (Not a bad thing).Host is always super nice and listens to booth requests. We see him work there often.Servers are warm and welcoming and very responsive.I like to edit my meals, theyre very quick and understanding.Food comes out fast, hot and correct about 90% of the time. (I like over medium eggs, if theyre busy I often get over easy, little too much runny whites for me) but, my bf and I still enjoy this place! Never a bad experience.
Second time in and amazed again. This place seems to always be busy but they have the ability to get you in and out really quick. The food is a greasy spoon diner type but it is not too greasy. it is truly delicious. They have some good vegetarian options as well for those concerned. I love the food and service here!
The waitress was amazing..i didnt catch her name but she is 16 going on 25 in maturity and ability to carry on a conversation with a couple of old people without being condescending. The food was very good. We will be back

Great breakfast/lunch/dinner diner with extensive menu serving breakfast all day. Two of us shared a medium Montana: grilled potatoes, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, diced bacon and ham, covered with cheddar cheese and topped with sour cream. We took enough home for another meal the next day. Well definitely go back, and soon.
The food here is consistent, nothing to write home about but there arent many options for brunch in Issaquah. It gets super busy on the weekends because it is small. I get the feeling the staff gives preferential treatment to white patrons. Ive been coming here for the past 10 yrs...while not a regular, Im here enough to know that I end up waiting for someone to take my order....always. but no one is ever rude to me, so your mileage may vary.
The only reason I give you 5 stars is because there isnt 6. Having said that, I just stopped by for dinner Friday 6:00 PM and youre closed. No note or sign on the door but 2 open signs lit. Nothing serious I hope.
As always, the Montana Special was awesome. Order a medium and youll have a meal to take home. Service fast and efficient. Coffee cup never empty. Love the raspberry jam.
