The food was good and the pancakes were delicious. And the coffee was perfect. Nothing out of the box but a good brunch place. What stood out for me was the prompt and friendly service from the staff. They were welcoming and provided options for mixing and matching. The ambience, esp. the outside seating is nice.

The Egg & Us came up while searching for best places for breakfast in Seattle so had to try it! First off it was easy to find as it sits right on the street side. Got there right in time as it closes at 3pm on Sunday (so check schedule) there was a wait list but we got in rather quickly (20 min) but there was a few suites in the area to keep us busy ! Staff was super friendly! I had the chicken fried steak and eggs! It had a very tasty sauce 👍🏽 it was cooked very well and the over medium eggs did not disappoint! My daughter decided to have the avocado toast with poached eggs! Her review is that the avocado was very fresh and bread was toasted just right. Her only complaint was that the bread on the second one got a bit soggy by the time she got to it but started it still tasted really good. Will definitely be going back to try some of the lunch and dinner options. Another great part is the Mimosas and full Bar😎

We went in and got put on a waiting list. One hour later we got the call that our 4 top was ready (11:12a) I ordered cranberry juice. Ends up the juice cost $3.50, came out of the machine and taste more like water than the concentrated cranberry syrup it was derived from. The apple juice and coffee taste watered down as well. After our order was taken we were checked on once at 11:43a. Food came at 11:55a. The food was great all around. Everything we ordered came out perfect. When we asked for coloring pages for the children they gave us some with crayons. Conclusion: Service was poor but the food was delicious.

I enjoyed the smoked salmon omelette very much. I wish they could have accomodated me with a non-dairy substitute for the butter on the toast.Another time I had the Hobo. It’s good it comes with eggs, onions, potatoes. Mushrooms were extra which I wasn’t crazy about, and I had too much chorizo with it... would’ve probably preferred a meatless or tofu option.

My “salmon Benedict pancake” were good with a side of fruits. There was a little too much of the hollandaise sauce for me, personal preference. My daughter loved her Mac and cheese. The fries were not great, greasy, no real taste.Place was empty at 2pm on a Friday. Service was great, waiter checked on us multiple times, was kind. Kid friendly place. Meh. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great my omelet was super greasy and the ham was thrown in the middle instead of mixed into the omelet. The hash browns were mushy and the toast was extraordinarily dry. My wife’s scramble was wrong initially and then they rushed to fix it so quickly that it was not quite cooked. The fruit was perfect. And the service was attentive and kind. I wouldn’t come back as there are a number of other breakfast places to try.

I absolutely adore this place and come here often. Their outdoor seating section is cute, breezy, and comfortable with heaters by each table. The staff is wonderful and friendly, service is quick. You can find anything you want to eat on the menu - breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They specialize in Mexican food, although you can find French toast, a rueban, or burger if you want.I personally recommend the Chorizo Benedict. Check it out!

Airy dining hall with pretty ample portions, but the service was very slow and the food was pretty average. I cant see myself coming back here, since the only reason I wound up here was because every other breakfast spot in Ballard was packed on a Saturday morning, save this one. That should have been my first clue.

Ive heard good things about this place and we did have to wait to be seated. Perhaps we just got an unusually bad experience, but...It took quite some time to place our order after being seated. We waited nearly 40 minutes after ordering for our food, which turned up cold and the eggs were very overcooked. Our server did apologize and waived the charge. My wife and I didnt eat ours, but my son was very hungry and wanted to eat his cold pancakes anyway!

There are so many things about this place that would have excused it being absolutely terrible. The location, the prices, the hours they are open. Im convinced Seattle doesnt know what good breakfast is. I picked this place based on its good reviews and a craving for a mean breakfast burrito. My burrito was bland and contained things I didnt order in it and came in a soggy shell. And the veggie skillet my girlfriend got was so bland we had to throw it on the stove and add our own seasoning and even then it was meh at best.Just wanted to have an easy morning without cooking after a long night and ended up having to cook anyway. At least it was hot I guess.

5 stars! So yummy! This place is so cute. The decor is very nice. They have a little outdoor eating area that Id love to try one day. We started with a cinnamon roll to share. Which was very sharable aka large, soft and ooey gooey just how I like them. The further we ate in the yummier it got. BF was so happy to find raisins the deeper we went. Im drooling right now thinking about it lol. What did it for me was the Mexican food options. OMG cant remember the last time I was offered Chilaquiles! So thats what I ordered and I wasnt disappointed. Ill definitely return. They have a chorizo scramble that sounds delicious and I hope is spicy. BF had the Swedish pancakes which although they were not filled he still enjoyed. They have the filling on the side. He turned them into an obscene dessert anyway as you can see the evolution per the pics. Great spot, really good prices for the quality of food. And the customer service was top notch. Love it we come in and are told, sit where ever you want. Coffee cup was never empty and thats the true sign of great service. Highly recommend. I even want to try the Issaquah location too! 😋 👍

We were a little disappointed. It started with the host just telling us there was a table in the back and then walking off. Ok, no big deal, we can find our table. Ordering our food seemed to go well. Waited a little long for it but that was ok. Food came, wasnt the best. I had French toast. Could have turned the grill down and cooked them longer. Slightly soggy on the inside. My hashbrowns were still raw on the inside. The chicken fried steak tasted like it was thawed in the microwave then deep-fried. The homemade biscuit was good. But the food wasnt the kicker. The server...omg. So after we got our food we might as well not even been there. We literally watched her walk to every table around us asking if they were good and if they needed anything. Completely ignoring our table. Wth. Probably wont be going back.

We have heard great things about the egg & us but we left overall feeling unsatisfied.Ordered scrabbled eggs, hash browns salmon and a cinnamon bun.The eggs were overdone, I can only describe the hash brown like putting gravel in my mouth. The salmon was coated with some foreign mayonnaise. Couldn’t even taste the salmon. And last but not least..... the cinnamon bun...This wasn’t your traditional cinnamon bun... A buttery soft dough with the warming flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg and the crunch of pecans...This was anything but... I genuinely thought we were served a red brick... both in appeal and taste. Very disappointing.$31+tip is just not worth the standard of the breakfast we experienced today. Will stick to places like portage bay from now on.

My wife and I visited on Saturday, 14 December 2019. We had a service animal with us, and we were happily seated in a convenient bench area. Unfortunately and elderly women server addressed us with a rather rude youre service animal must be on the floor comment. Unfortunately our service dog cannot perform her duties from the floor. We conveyed that to our server, but were given no understanding. We were forced to leave without consuming our orange juice nor our coffee, but paying for both.Let me convey to this server, and to others that those of us who are differently abled do not appreciate our limitations being shoved in our faces everywhere we go. Our lives are challenging, and it would be nice to be accepted despite them. I suspect the food at The Egg & Us is wonderful, but we may never have the pleasure of enjoying it.
