I am always happy with the quality of groceries here. They have a very good selection. I wish they delivered to Seattle though.
We found a broken pieces of rubber band in the food. Called into to report this, the person at the counter took the call and provided a namesake apology. We wanted to talk to the chef to stress the seriousness of this issue. Someone took the call instead and straight away went to the” come here next time and we will refund you” conversation and followed with a few rude sentences and ended the call saying “do whatever you can”. Very terrible experience and hope the food inspector can also look into the hygiene of this place.
I was very pleased with their whole fish fry and chicken dum biryani. I will definitely come back to taste more items in their menu. Keep up the good work!
I always liked the idea of grocery and restaurant together. But restaurant with a view is added advantage. They need to spend sometime and money on upkeep of the surrounding rest is good. Variety in groceries, decent quality food. Dosa was little thick then usual, masala in dosa had a touch of ghee! And coconut chutney with taste of peanuts. Whole wheat Roti were light and nicely done. Garvey of veggies were rich in flavor.
I door dash and this grocery/ restaurant is always ready for me..so my highest rating...
Both my husband and I love indian food. It was our first time to Maurya and it will definitely be our last. The food was simply awful and my husbands stomach was upset for the next 24 hours. There are so many excellent indian restaurants, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
Great food! Recently visited their restaurant while picking up some groceries. You could give your take out orders, and finish your shopping while it is getting ready. All under one roof.Tried 3 times so far, 5/5 stars every time! They know their craft. It is kerala style, and they shuffle up their this weeks special menu that is unique and flavorful so do give that a try!
I am north Indian but I enjoy south Indian food a lot. I love the variety of the food, taste of the flavors, price and how quickly they prepare the meal. All my coworkers loved the food as well :) Thank You
Went to the restaurant and hygiene was ridiculous. They dont pay Attention to your order and the worst part of all was the idli we ordered had traces of some other curry which we didnt order. Their sambar was of a quality worthy to discard..Madras coffee i order seemed like it was reheated and wasnt fresh. I dont recommend this place. Also department of health needs to inspect this place for hygiene.
***NOT RECOMMENDED****I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and person at counter said 10-15 minutes when it was all ready right there at the counter buffet. The food was not made fresh to order and was sitting there since who knows when. She took orders from others, phone orders, and made me wait just to simply fill a container to get me my order. Never again. Please teach your staff some manners and not showing so much attitude!! She also served stale tea to customer which was made in the morning. Stay away! You’ve been warned.
Please check the items at Apna Bazar or other grocery store before you buy from here. You could save a lot on a lot of items. This place is a rip off. I observed at least $3-$4 mark up on many of the items compared to Apna bazar. So think about it. If Apna bazar is selling an item, that price already reflects cost plus profit. So if Maurya has to make another $3-$4 on top of it, what is this other than greed and robbery.
**Too much Attitude with Horrible Customer Service**We ordered idli and mirchi vada to-go,only to discover after reaching hone that no chutneys and sambar were provided, alongside these dishes. On top of that, the attitude with which they entertain customers stinks !!In their own words they say, most of such snacks are prepared beforehand, still had to wait for 20 minutes to receive idli n mirchi vada .Quality of food is tolerable but the customer service is beyond tolerable limits !!
Standard Indian grocery store with a good selection of fresh produce and other items.
Came here for dinner over the weekend at 830pm, didnt had half of the items. On enquiring have they ran out of them, they said chef is busy, due to too many orders, hence unable to take order. Recommended new timings for dinner, 730 pm, even though their website reads 930-10pm.
Great place as a casual cafe/restaurant. It fills in a hole left by the fire/closing of Chaat n Roll in Issaquah (though the selection is smaller). Its definitely a casual place so expect service accordingly. The cone dosas are great for the kids. Overall the food is quite tasty and the view of the creek accompanies you as you enjoy the flavors. I hope they continue to expand the menu and grow.
My wife and I did not grow up with Indian food and wanted to try to make traditional Indian food. We found the ingredients we wanted there. Appreciated the help from a young men that helped us. We learned a lot and look forward to our next adventure enjoying Indian recipes.
Soooooo goooood!
You can have a good Indian spiced tea, with snacks. Also have groceries to shop.
I would give less than 1 star if I could for the food. The chana masala was salty, paneer butter masala had old dried out paneer and the gravy was like water thin. Samosa as well was salty and nothing tasted fresh. The lady on the cashier was very cold and rude to us but very welcoming and friendly too other American guests. The mango lassi tasted good, though it was full of artificial food color.
Grocery store has a wide variety and very reasonable prices
My daughter and I had a dosa and a bryiani dish tonght from Maurya and we were absolutely blown away by the perfection. We always eat Indian food when traveling and we thought we knew good Indian food but nothing is as good as this anywhere in America.
Be very careful of what you buy at this store. Most of their goods are either expired or close to expiry date.We made the mistake of not checking the dates on some of the things we purchased from this store.A lot of items from the tinned rasgullas to the readymade masalas were expired. Some items were expiring within a month and had a manufactured date over 12 months old.Giving two stars because of the good discounts offered.
Ambience is worst, food is good! Ladies at counter stop 🛑 laughing and staring at customer while they are eating their food, customers dont spend money in restaurants not just for food for ambience too!
One of the finest place to have Indian food. South Indian varieties are worth trying here. Their prices are also better than other places. I should also mention about the great hospitality.
Lots of hard to find spices, produce and other groceries.
Has a lot of collection of Indian food items compared to other Indian grocery stores
The food is excellent and I love the grocery store in the front. The ambience is simplistic and leaves something to be desired but its unpretentious and no BS, so theres something to be said about that. The dosa is my fave!
Some fresh food available to buy. Small shop but has a lot of items
Fantastic selection of groceries, and wonderful home cooked food. Very reasonable prices. AND they even have grocery delivery available. Wonderful place in our community.
Delicious masala dosas and friendly service.
Tasty food, meh ambiance
Got the butter chicken curry. $13 for a small container with no rice. The chicken was tough. Other than all that, this was an awesome experience.EDIT: I tried it again, and it was actually pretty good the second time!
Dosa, naan, butter chicken, goat curry, tikka masala and rice. All perfectly balanced. Also their currys come with rice, so dont worry about forgetting to order some! Their Lassi is savory with cardamom, so be prepared for that.
The food is good but waiting time for pickup is very high. Took nearly an hour for a single chilli paneer order.
Consistently tasty food. Have dined in and gotten takeout. Gobi Manchurian, chili paneer, and dosa
Great food, helpful staff
One of the best restaurants for biryani and starters.Tasted all the biryanis here and starters.Gongura mutton biryani and chicken dum biryani are my favourite.Must try it if you are a spicy lover. Its good every time right from rice quality and taste.Must try!!!!!
Its COVID-19 hub!! I have experienced 3 times the Owner not wearing mask and roaming around the stores while drinking coffee/tea(in hand) & talking to customer or his employees in native language. He may be vaccinated!! but doesnt mean not having basic responsibility of spreading COVID-19. these unethical behavior will keep others family/kids in health risk. he must understand having vaccinated doesnt mean fully immune. What example he sets, have observed his employees/helpers in store wearing mask below the nose. What a leader!!!Guys please avoid visiting this store if you worried about ur health & ur family. Driving 3 more miles is worth.
You get what you need but can do better with place to look more tidy and put price labels since most items are missing price labels
It is confusing at first because it does looks like a restaurant, but you will find three tables once.you entered inside. Not good enough environment. I.dont recommend it.
WOW. Watched the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers. Too cool.
Good selection of indian groceries. The snack collection is pretty wide. The restaurant inside is great, waiting for the covid restrictions to get over so that one could enjoy the meal while watching the river. Good customer service
Staff is very friendly. Excellent customer service. i love their mutton gongurra biryani! As a non-Indian that can speak some Telugu, Im treated nicely. So i will always do my shopping here only.
One of our favs for Indian groceries. The owners are wonderful people, always welcoming and ever so helpful. Their restaurant serves good Indian food too.
Had filter coffee and Pakoda today! Good as always
My indian grocery shop from my first visit last year. Everything we need plus good food in Kerala style preparation.
The grocery store is very convenient for south Bellevue and Issaquah location. The veggies are fresh and particularly on Thursday mornings. Staff is friendly and the place is clean and organized
Not a great selection but OK if you need something in a pinch.
I just moved to Issaquah and was excited to find there is an Indian grocery here. Just checked it out and its well stocked; looks like I dont need to go to Redmond anymore!
Great place for Indian groceries and food. They have a restaurant at the back that serves Kerala food. The staff is friendly.
Store is stocked up well, wish they keep the store clean and follow good covid standards
My gosh! Just picked some in house made date pickle! Amazing, get it while it lasts because Im coming for more! 10.7.2020
Wife and I stumbled across this place and glad we did. We went to have brunch somewhere close and they were packed. Saw this grocery place and was told about the cafe... Walked back met with this super nice guy who talked with my wife and I about the menu. Amazing suggestions! The food was great. So much flavor, spice, and VERY reasonable on pricing. My wife and I will be going back again and again. If you are sensitive to hit food, make sure to tell them very light on hot. One dish was super spicy, I loved it.. wife not really.
Dont judge this book by its humble, dilapidated cover; this is the best south asian food for miles around.
Great Indian food in this little obscure place. If you love traditional crab curry or fish curry and can handle spicy food, give this place a try. Never disappointed. Do not go hungry because good food takes time and there will be a longer wait to get your food. Worth the wait though!
Decent place. Have all Indian groceries to an extent. Love the food joint along side this store.
Very good Biryani I tasted after many days and Gregory items are very good with decent price..
Awesome shop with an amazing selection. Great snacks and a restaurant inside as well!
Variety and freshness of produce and fish. International cheeses. Great breads.
This review is for the restaurant. Actually they should keep location info on Google separate to not mess-up the reviews for restaurant vs grocery as they are different business. For food we usually order Samosas while on grocery shopping and they are usually good when fresh and hot. Once ordered a chilli chicken and goat biryani. Chilli chicken was ok. Biryani was too spicy or hot. May be we should try authentic south indian menu next time as they seem to be more comfortable with those menus than north indian.
Benny, Singh and the rest of the staff prepare the best Indian cuisine in town. You get a great view of the river from the dining area. And there’s a grocery store that supplies you with all your ingredients for your own culinary adventures.
Exploring some new recipes and in search of ingredients,, this store had everything we needed and so much more. Friendly service, very helpful for finding things on our ingredient list.
Great food in cafe great selection in grocery section and probably best restaurant river view in Issaquah! Friendly staff too...Awesome Ganesh poster as well.
They have a very good Indian deli (mini buffet) in the back. Great curries, packers and more. I get one to go when work brings me nearby. Also try a pack of Hide & Seek chocolate cookies.
Although this place has good food and I have my personal favorites, The chappathi I got from them was disappointing. It was frozen chappathi that was heated and given. Atleast they could say they don’t have chappathis instead of low quality food.I wish I could share the image of the chappathi. That say a lot than my review here
Ordered chili chicken and paneer 65. Literally there was no salt or chili powder and the chicken was not fresh and raw in chili chicken. Horrible experience.
Tasty food, close to authentic Kerala style recipes. Groceries also better.
Decent Indian grocery shop. Limited selection and bit cramped space. Price is higher than Bellevue based shops
Food is really good. I would certainly recommend this place. Service time is not the best but the food here is really good. Try it out and the do me a favor and review this place and say you tried it because of me. They would be greatly appreciated. Anyways, would recommend.
Food came ten minutes later than expected, but quality and in good condition.
Found this place recently, pricing is more than fair and I personally enjoy the food here. For me, the workers are nice. All in all between 4-5 stars, depending on day visited!
Good quality vegetables are not available.Very small outlet and all items may not be available
Had catered food from Maurya this weekend.Their party options of various tray sizes, price, and above all the taste was up to the mark.Very pleased by their service and food.Would be a regular at the restaurant!
Pretty cool place!
Dosas are very good here. Excellent mint chutney!
This was not masala dosa. I have eaten masala dosa my entire life. This was a chewy thing accompanied by tomato juice. The sambar wasn’t sambar. It was tomato juice with soft potatoes.I will not be ordering from this false restaurant ever again.I have been eating Indian food for 30 years. My grandma was a close friend of a woman who owned an incredible Indian restaurant. I know amazing Indian food, and this is not it.This was an insult.
I ordered fish briyani, the taste was below average. The main issue was the fish was not cooked fully and the chicken lolly pop I ordered was salty.
Maurya restaurant is awesome.. their Thaleasery Chicken Biriyani is finger licking tasty!!!
Indian grocery especially Puja items
My family and I went there on a Saturday. Initially when we entered the grocery store, I wasnt impressed. The restaurant is all the way in the rear. Once I reached the rear it was such a plesant surprise. A view of beautiful creek right by the window. The service and the food was amazing. The portion size is big. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to sit down in a casual setting and have some good food.
It is a big store or a small mall in the Seattle city of USA that suffices all day to day needs of nearby Indian as well as Asian communities. It has a good restaurant within the store which takes care of Indian fast foods and beverages etc.
Wrong place
Maurya Indian Groceries and & Restaurant recently opened up on Gilman Blvd. It has decent amount of essential Indian groceries and the produce is bare bone right now. To my knowledge, this is the only Indian grocery store around this area and hopefully will start carrying more items as time passes by. The restaurant food is okay, but I like the view from here. The restaurant has an patio area and there is a nice little stream in the back that you can enjoy while eating here. Has potential and looking forward to visiting it again.
I have been eating since 5 months here. They maintain authentic Indian taste for all the items on their menu. Only minus point is the oil they add which seems to be way too more than wat is required. Overall its a good restaurant with a big menu dishes that cover north and south India ..
Good food, friendly staff and great location :-) Lamb curry is off the hook!
Save yourself by not going to this restaurant!
I always have a great experience with them. The customer service rocks. It is our go to place for groceries and I love their Biriyani and Butter Chicken. One night we missed the deadline to order by 15 mins and they made an exception for us and we got our order. Really great service. I highly recommend the store.
Good place to shop for Indian Groceries. I was looking for naans and they had a couple of options to chose from. The spice aisle is really good, you can almost anything in small 100-200 gm packet. I dropped in for sindhav salt (used in Indian Fasting) and when I could not locate anywhere I could buy it from Maurya.
Fresh produce and dry goods. Excellent selection and prices.
I was served tomato chutney with mold on it. They usually make a whole batch, fill it in 2oz containers & store it. Served absolute outdated chutney to me. When I showed it to aunty (manager) & returned it, she just took it without any embarrassment or apologizing to me and bought me another one. No body apologized to me or were ashamed of something like this happening. This extremely casual and absolutely unprofessional attitude is not cool. The toilets are filthy and smell. No soap or tissues. The carts are always dirty. This place needs professionalism and some order. I have stopped getting my groceries now because I doubt how they would be stored.
Good place to shop and a restaurant to eat. Discounts of 10% on cards shopping over $50 and 5% on cash payment on any amount is a great incentive to shop!
