Must visit when you are visiting Ithaca/Cornell/Finger Lake region. Great place to end the day or have a nice relaxed afternoon. Beside the beer and the good food. The place is very inviting, relaxing and happening. Singles or families with kids doesn’t matter - great spot, great outdoor space and some great beers to try with good food. I tried the sampler and mostly seasonal - they were good. It’s in the top 10 Brewery in NY State.
We first discovered their root beer in Watkins Glenn. We noticed they were fairly close, so why not? It was worth the trip. The beer is very enjoyable, the food is excellent. They accommodate for a lot of people, sitting up tents, serving outside. Hopefully well be able to return in the near future.
This came up rather early on a list of things to check out in Ithaca and I have to say - solid recommendation! The outdoor area is absolutely stunning, and especially loved viewing a sunset and then chilling with the patio lights on. I wasn’t expecting to be blown away by the pizza, as I’m visiting from the city, but this chicken and peppers combo was absolutely fantastic. My only criticism is that the beer on tap seemed a little watered down? Like the flavors were very unique but they felt weak and lacking in depth. Perhaps it was just an off day for the taps but I still really enjoyed myself.
We just love this place after visiting one of the beautiful waterfalls close by in the area. They have a spacious outdoor area to relax and enjoy nature or indoor seating to cool off as well. HUGE and unique beer selection and delicious food options. Every time we come we’ve had a great experience. Highly recommend.
My wife and I stopped for dinner and drinks at Ithaca Beer. We were staying at the nearby Rodeway Inn, so just a short drive. Service was prompt and friendly and food and beer were good. We split a barbecue chicken pizza and it was very good. Nice selection of beers and drinks as well. I would eat and drink here again if visiting the area.
One of the best options in the area, especially if you sit at the lawn outside. The beer is tasty, cold and reasonably priced. The food is good (considering the other options). Last time I was there, I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was tasty, but the bun was not fresh and the fries needed more salt. Other than that, service has always been good and it’s a nice scene.
Not dog-friendly! I was shocked to discover that this brewery does not allow dogs. I’ve never been to a brewery that didn’t allow dogs so this was a first for me. So unfortunately my dog had to wait in my car with the windows down instead of hanging out with me in the brewery’s incredibly spacious outdoor area. It didn’t make any sense. That ridiculous no-dog-policy aside, the beers were good and they also have a small food menu. The indoor space is a decent size but as mentioned above, they also have a gigantic outdoor space with benches and tables on a large patio as well as picnic benches out on the expansive lawn.
Saturday 15 minutes after this place opened, already an hour wait for the dine-in. So went to the back yard. Got pepperoni pizza, poutine, cheddar ale soup and two different IPAs. They said food would take about 15 to 20 mins when we made the order but took about 50 mins…Pizza was good with garlic flavor. Poutine was okay. But the soup wasn’t for me. Beer was a little bit fresher than local bars, not impressive brewery quality at all. Not sure about the second visit. It was a really long time to wait for what we got!
The drive up in the dark feels like something out of a horror movie, but once youre there, its all fantastic. Great service, great beer, nice vibe. Deducted a star only because I was briefly worried I was driving into a serial killers lair.
What an amazing experience! This is truly one of a kind. Beautiful outdoor beer garden . There is so much room. It is so spacious. The setting is so beautiful!! Corn mazes ! Beautiful sunflower fields! Great music! You can get half cups of beer to try different kinds. Really amazing experience! Wanted to stay afternoon.
Awesome vibe and awesome menu both for drinks and eats. Highly recommended. Couple notes; No dogs, bummer.Limited menu outside at the beer garden, gotta sit down for burgers.Outdoor seating (full menu), and outdoor seating (beer garden menu) are two different things. All good once you know whats up. Now you know!
We went on a Sunday on Columbus day weekend at around 5pm. We chose to eat outside with their outdoor kitchen. They were short staffed that evening and told us that the food was going to be ready in 20 minutes. An hour later, the buzzer buzzed and all the pizza that we ordered was cold and the chicken sandwich that I ordered had lukewarm fries and the crispy chicken sandwich that I ordered was semi burnt most likely because they had not changed the oil when they were supposed to or they left it in the fryer too long. I honestly am going to avoid going there during the weekend from now on. Perhaps if I go there during the week at some point in the future, their timing and quality of food will be better.
I love this place!!! I dont drink, but the food is amazing!!!! As is their nonalcoholic apple cider! Their food is locally sourced from farms in the region! Indoor seating and expansive outdoor seating available. No smoking (including e-cigarettes) and no pets allowed outside on the pavilions. Best to leave Fido (& your cigs) at home!!!
Your place was so much bigger than we expected. Its quite the scene, but very well run. Keep up the good work!
Amazing atmosphere and wonderful craft beer. Food was good but huge portions. I recommend if you have a ton of people, one plate could realistically feed 2-3 people.
Love the beer and atmosphere. The food is tasty too, but can take a looooong time to get. Hard to wait an hour for pizza, but the beer and views help. Just dont go hungry 😬
Great food, good beer, and the outdoor venue was nice and Covid mitigation friendly. And the packaging was pretty environmentally friendly too. 👍👍
Great trip! Food is priced fair, and staff was very friendly. We were not shoved out or rushed out after we were done eating so it was a nice place to sit and talk after eating as well.
The food here is great. I am not old enough to drink beer but im sure other reviews should say how it is. I had the pizza and it was perfect. The staff are very nice here and it is a big place.
Although it was very busy, the service was excellent. Food was very good and the hard cider was great.
Went on a Saturday night for dinner. Not a long wait, put our names down and got in within ~20 mins. I think waiting for our first order of beer and food was also about 20 mins. Great outdoor area, could use some type of heated option for after sunset. Some folks brought woven blankets which would have been a good idea. There seemed to be a decent college undergrad age present compared to other breweries in the area if you want more that atmosphere. Beer was great with a nice selection, food was good but nothing too special worth noting. Wouldn’t be our first choice again for a Saturday night dinner but would go back to grab a few beers to go.
Great food, great beer, great service
Yeah!Cool place, nice people, great atmosphere. Came in from Colorado a couple times to see the kid at college, and loved the vibe at Ithaca Beer Co. Pizza was very good, beer cold, great scenery and tunes. Will be back soon! Thank you.
Top notch on every front - large crowd and totally safe-feeling outdoors and spread out, enjoying awesome beer and phenomenal food served with friendliness and hustle by all servers - the marrow burger, chicken thigh sandwich, poutine, kale salad side and pumpkin chai ale were all standouts.
Loved the beer. Flower power is good and understandably their flag ship beer. Found the brewery was really interesting and the tour was fun. Maybe pay a little more for the tour and get it with a brewer or something would have been better. Tour guide is good but most of the information is standard things beer geeks already know. Also wish they had a few nicer t shirts for sale. The designs are kind of dated.
We didnt eat here, but we each tried a couple of different beers. Everything was fantastic. We loved the beer and atmosphere, and cannot wait to return.
Very busy Thursday evening but beer line was quick. Food took about 15 minutes to order and 15 more to deliver. Pretty admirable considering the crowd. 4 stars because was just ok. Trying for gourmet but just a couple of notches above a mom and pop pizzeria.
Great place to add to a wine tour or if you just want to stop in for a quick drink. They also have a great food menu...so bring the family.
Decided to eat lunch here after hearing good things as we were vacationing in the area. For first timers the instructions were very confusing about how to order and where to order. Took a while to get food which was ok as it was a beautiful day. BUT the food was cold. Probably will not return.
The wood fired pizza was outstanding! Nice thin crust, perfect amount of garlic, cup pepperoni. Frut was my favorite.
Ok, so of course during these covid times you have to order food. I wasnt hungry soni just ordered the beer cheese soup. Upon first glance it was a very thin soup, I didnt have high hopes. Oh em gosh, it is ssssoooo good. I ended up ordering an extra one to go!!! There beer is good and the scenery is amazing. I hope they bring out some heaters if we continue to do this outside dining. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be back!
Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and great cider. The best of all worlds.
Great food and great beer. Excellent company which truly cares about their patrons and staff.
Was recommended to come here while on vacation. The Burger and Pizza was ok. The Service could be better.
Every time I go there I have a great time me and my friends go there all the time Mell the manager is terrific she keeps a close eye on everything and everybody
This place is not pet friendly!!! After having several friends bring dogs here and seeing other people with dogs outside, we were quite disappointed to arrive here to find out dogs are not welcome in the large outdoor space. As Ithaca in general is a very pet friendly place it was surprising to find out today that dogs were not welcome. We were fine with placing a take out order and returning home to eat, however upon placing our order we found out their take out menu is very limited and they were not willing to be accommodating at all. I think this is very disappointing for a town that has a veterinary school present and the majority of businesses are very pet friendly. We ended up leaving hungry and having to find a restaurant with a more inviting atmosphere. If you’re not able to accommodate people’s pets at least have a full menu available for take out. Being a resident of Ithaca, I’m unsure if we will return again after this terrible experience.
I really love it here. Much more laid back than a lot of the places downtown. You can just enjoy yourself. Everyone is super friendly.
Great food, beer and lovely staff. Always enjoy our visits.
We visited Ithica Beer Co. on Sunday, 7/18/21. Every single detail of our visit was top knotch. From the happy, professional greeter, to the well staffed crew(our server was Michelle S., and she was absolutely fantastic) to the delicious food and beverages! We highly recommend this place!
Excellent staff wood fired pizza oven huge salads oh and I forgot to mention outstanding beer. A must stop if youre in the area.
They do not cater to bipoc, which is clear as ever when they kicked my people out the establishment over an expired ID. The same expired ID they had served my friend with the day PRIOR. They told us my friend had to leave, as if we would make them wait outside while we ate inside! We agreed to leave with our friend but asked for a refund as we didnt get a chance to eat our food. Thats when Mel, the manager, decided to call the cops on us. As if asking for a refund was an offense!*Looking back on other reviews I see this place has had problems before. Very disappointing. Do better Ithaca Beer Co.
Wonderful atmosphere. Food was excellent. Very friendly. Several style of beers to choose from. Interesting art on the walls. Great indoor and outdoor dinning.
Nice garden seating both with tents or benches.
Very nice and friendly. Tasty too.
Best Burger I’ve ever had in my entire life! (Taproom Burger)
Delicious with lots of room to spread out and lots of shade. A great fathers day treat
Some of the best IPAs Ive ever tried! Will happily keep trying all of them.
Creating a line in the parking lot to get checked in (50 years old and getting IDd and a wrist band slapped on) when seating/space inside was not an issue was the first problem. The lines for the beer, and food and beer - completely inefficient. Being able to order certain menu items only in certain areas, more disappointment. We actually drove to Ithaca and spent the weekend, for the main reason of visiting the home of the Flower Power. Beer was good as expected - disappointing venue
Nut Brown Ale was excellent!
Good and beautiful environment. It has good sitting arrangement. We ordered hamburgers, fries, and pizzas, and they were very good. Their beer were good too.
I miss the Pandemic Era IBC. Great food from anywhere on the back area. Now they have split the menu depending on where you site. Limited menu (no burger!) in the back yard and only the few peeps at the small crowded patio (feels like someone’s suburban backyard patio) with access to full menu. Really don’t understand why they have limits like this. I won’t be returning as I really only went there for a great burger, beer, and chill in the open back yard. Too bad. Follow up… IBC responding quickly… love that! Ok, maybe in my disappointment, I trashed the patio too much, it is nice, but does not have the open feel I like and with COVID still around, the openness of back yard is nice. Just wish we could get full menu like we did last year. I live abroad and have been thinking about a burger, beer and chill summer night for a while. Just got here to drop kids and bam, no patio table available, and thus no burger due to restricted outdoor menu. Hope you can upgrade the kitchen or add a grill to outdoor food tent. Good luck.
Food, beer and the atmosphere were good but the servers rushed us out of there.
Even a pregnant lady can enjoy herself here. The burger I ordered was extremely juicy and my husbands pizza was hand-tossed and made with real, fresh mozzarella. Perhaps it was slightly overpriced food, but the beer was top notch and reasonable. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Tours are only on the weekends and they are closed Monday and Tuesday.
This place is fantastic. The atmosphere is great both inside and out in the gorgeous outdoor space. I dont drink beer personally, but my boyfriend seemed to love everything he had. The food is phenomenal. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced which I love. Prices are slightly above average on the food but you definitely get what you pay for in quality. Highly recommend if youre in the area.
Came here hoping to enjoy drinks with friends in the nice weather, and had extremely rude and slow service. There’s only one station to order drinks making the lines and wait very long. If you order mode than 2 drinks they cut you off. The waitress pulled our drinks out of our hands before we were even finished telling us we had to leave. We were all seated, wearing our masks as appropriate, and she didn’t provide any reason as to why she removed our drinks from the table. We will not be returning to IBC.
The coolest place in Ithaca ... great food, drinks and such a great biergarden/outdoor area!!!
Great service at the bar and the food is delicious.
Great food and drinks. Good flow for ordering and pick up of food and beverages
Beer was great, food was OK. I had the Buffalo burger, which was cooked very well and on a great bun, but I didnt get much Buffalo or Bleu cheese flavor. Still a good burger, though. Atmosphere and outside seating was nice, as well. Definitely worth popping in for a beer or lunch if you are in the area.
Do not wear heels! Outdoor seating involves walking up and down hills into and out of the seating area. The hills are not too steep, but Im just trying to help out all my fellow clumsy people out there. Fries and beer were good tho. They also have a variety of sauces to go with the fries, so ask about them! :)
Fantastic bet, great good and eating on the lawn was unique!
Beer is great, the setup for ordering and waiting in line is just stupid, really cant wrap my head around what they are trying to do. Staff standing around while customers wait in line.
Loved it, great beer and the burgers are awesome!
Spent a few hours enjoying good beer, good pizza, and good people! Only thing missing was a view of the lake!!!
I give it one star. They made two lines to order due to covid, which is great. However, they really messed it up. They have a beer only line and a beer and food line. Obviously, the beer and food line is way longer due to having to order food because of covid. We waited in line over half an hour to order beer and food and the woman on the register in the beer only line let customers walk up and order food skipping approx. 50 plus customers that are waiting to order food. The couple in front of us saw this and left, they were the next to order. This made us next to order. Then the lady in the beer only line let another group skip everyone waiting in the food line and by this time the line was even longer. We saw this, even with being next to order, and left. Very bad customer service.
Chill place, great beer, great people!
Great beer and great food!
Great beer and awesome outdoor eating.
Loved it! The pizza was great, the beer and drinks were delicious and we loved the outdoor seating. It allowed for privacy with extra large social distancing in place. You could even have a table nuzzled up on the edge of the corn field. We loved it!
Always a good time. No new annual this year, but thats to be expected.
