Wow, these guys are good! Seth correctly pinpointed our computer problems within minutes and had a new piece of equipment to replace in his truck! Good service, friendly and helpful on the phone, decent pricing. Cant ask for anything more.

I have been taking computers to Computer Room for since they were located on East Hill. The guys who work there are pleasant, unpretentious (they dress very casually and bring their dogs to work), and honest. They do not talk down to women or to people like me who do not know much about computers. They recently replaced the hard drive on my laptop--they carefully checked out the computer to make sure that that was what was needed, and they did not try to force the most expensive option on me The happy result is that my computer feels like it is new.

When my computer went on the fritz I took it to these fine folks and within 24 hours knew what was wrong. They were up front about the situation, not trying to sell me on anything or tease that maybe they could fix it if I paid for this or that. They even managed to copy my hard drive over to an external drive so I didnt lose anything.

These guys were so nice and quick with helping me with my computer. The dogs at the store we so cute and sweet, made my day! They helped find the best way to deal with my computer that was cost efficient.

I had an unusual problem with my MacBook Air that was impossible to recreate for diagnostic purposes. Ben & the team fixed it each time,& persevered until the solution was found. & all the while remained positive & pleasant as they explained what they were trying/doing. Result? I really appreciated Computer Rooms dedication to providing the best service. I had a pretty unique situation (the parts were not available in the US), but Ben and his team made everything as smooth as possible for me. I didnt have to give them my laptop until the parts came, so I could use it for school, and then once the parts did arrive, the team worked very fast to put everything together for me. Their quality control is also great, because they realized that one feature of the new parts was defective, so they ordered new parts again. Throughout the entire process, Ben and his team worked with me to ensure that everything was done as efficiently as possible. Would definitely recommend!

The data on my hard drive was not recoverable, but the service was exceptional. The team at Computer Room explained the technical side of things to my satisfaction, and I felt like my expectations were realistically set.

I had issues with my Dell lap-top. Took it to them. They explained to me exactly what had wrong with my machine after going thru with all the diagnostic work overnight. Fixed everything that was wrong for a very reasonable price, and now my lap-top is functioning like it was, and as when there was nothing wrong with it. What I liked about them is they did everything with proper and adequate disclosure. I think their prices are very fair.

I have a 9 y.o. Mac that would not boot up. Ben and Seth both counseled me on the repair and what I could expect to happen when they replaced the dead hard drive. A perfect storm of Pandemic, Apple coming out with its ARM component machines and my old Intel Mac. What to do? I opted for replacing the hard drive. I think Seth did the work but both men were informative, professional and Patient! I would not hesitate to call them and bring any other devices I have to them. I felt that they were honest, seasoned computer professionals, very candid with their answers regarding the Mac and waiting for the new ARM Mac Pro. Great business! Called them in borderline tears over a crashed hardrive I was told was unsalvageable. Eric was so sweet, answered my questions, and was sympathetic. I ended up cancelling, then calling back and rescheduling and he was happy to help and kind. Got my drive back a few days later, and I was told that they were refunding me the rest of my deposit because what they did cost less than my deposit. This was hands down the kindest experience Ive ever had. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Neal replaced the SSD in my Mac laptop. He did a great and thorough job and he did it quickly. He also checked in with me a couple of weeks later to make sure things were working well. I asked him a couple of questions in my follow-up email and he took the time to answer my questions thoroughly. It is nice to work with a local small business which is what Computer Room is. Two amazing experiences. I spilled liquid all over my laptop (all... over...), and they salvaged all my data, and it didnt cost and arm and a leg. A year later, an external hard drive stopped working, and they saved all that data, too. Neal is so nice and professional and pleasant to work with. I cant recommend them highly enough.

I was really impressed with the work that Computer Room put into my computer. They were patient and communicative as they dealt with what I thought was a fatal crash, and in the end I got to take home my fully functioning computer at a very reasonable cost. Neal took my laptop in and diagnosed it very easily. He was very knowledgeable and gave me numerous options and advice on what to do with my laptop. I went ahead and purchased a new one, and he easily transferred all of my information over to my new one. I would recommend the Computer room to anyone having issues with their computers. Neal is approachable and easy to talk to whether you are tech-savvy or tech-overwhelmed. He was honest and upfront about the options available to me when I brought him a Macbook with water damage to the logic board. He communicated with me about each step of the process and how long each step would take.Bonus: there are dogs behind the counter that you can say hi to if you wish!

I accidentally spilled a whole cup of tea on my computer and I called them right away. Within 30min they had given me an appointment and they were checking the laptop. They called me a couple of times to chat about the repairs and now the computer looks brand new!

For over 10 years I have used the Computer Room for my computers and cant say enough good things about them. Their service and workmanship is excellent. They are honest and very fairly priced. Ive never noticed this shop before and never had a reason to go there, but I found myself in a bind as I was trying to complete a PC build and needed thermal paste. I challenge you to try finding such a thing anywhere in Ithaca, or probably even without driving at least an hour.Well, they had it, and it was a lifesaver. The staff is very nice as well, and they chatted with me a bit about my build. I cant speak to the quality of their other work, but I would recommend checking them out if you need to purchase any parts or accessories. They seem competent and friendly as well, which means you have a good chance of getting good repair work done as well.

SO glad I found the Computer Room! I am a virtual assistant who works from home, so my computer is everything. When I had some water damage on my Macbook, I was so scared it would be permanently damaged, and that I would be without a computer for weeks. My Dell laptop started crashing about once a day, just freezing, requiring a hard reset of the system, then it would do it again. My mom and I have been to the computer room a few times now and weve seen how they excel at customer service. My mom is someone who knows how more or less how to use a computer but doesnt have an in depth knowledge. Meanwhile, Im a nerd and always want to know more about how a computer works. The people at the Computer Room do an excellent job and speaking simply to normal people like my mother and know when to speak more technical to someone like me, which is something a lot of other (and larger) businesses fail at.On top of that, their knowledge and skill is superb and theyre also fair with their prices. I recently took my laptop in for maintenance and they not only fixed my problem but also took the time to test it to ensure that everything was working fine. If you leave your technology with them, it will be well taken care of.

Actually, this is Karen Hays. (Dont know why my son Steves name came up except he uses my computer fairly often.) Seth, the technician from Computer Room, is my go-to person when I have any computer question or problem. He ALWAYS fixes everything and is just excellent. Recently a technician from Time Warner Cable was here working on something and had a question I thought Seth would know about, so I called Computer Room. Seth was in the area and came right to my house within a few minutes and took care of the issue.....just like he always does!!! Hes friendly, patient, extremely knowledgeable, capable and fun! The technicians here really know their business, and take some effort to even explain to rookies like me what exactly the issue with my laptop is. Their diagnosis pinpointed the small damaged part in the whole circuitry. Saved me a bunch of money by replacing a small damaged part rather than replacing the whole laptop :)
