This place is great! Austin was very helpful when selecting a surf board for my 13yr old nephew. Made me feel super comfortable.

Sunrise has been solid and consistent for years. I stopped by to grab wetsuit booties and gloves. They had what I needed in stock and in my size which is a surprise considering the Christmas shopping season. Trevor was very helpful again. This is the third time that in a row that he was the salesman to help me. He is very knowledgeable and willing to take time to answer all of the questions that one may have. Ask for Trevor if you need assistance and you will get the help that you seek. Sunrise gets 5 stars for sure!

Has a very good customer service, is a little small but is overall a very good store. I see a lot of people having there merchandise and it is of good quality. Some stuff is a little overpriced but all surf shops are. They have good skateboards and also help out with local events too!

Not sure how this place doesn’t have a 5.0 rating. I love it here. Everyone is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable while shopping. Clothes and shoes are super cute and trendy. I’ve never went in and not spent over $100 because I simply enjoy shopping here.

Prices arent bad for retail, but you can find whatever you need to find online. However, the difference between buying online and in store is evident here. Sunrise has an excellent selection of surf, skate, and swimming gear and apparel, and knowledgeable staff who actually know what they (and you!) are talking about. You walk out of the store knowing exactly what you bought and how to use it if youre starting a new hobby. Great place

I came in for a 20% discount that I got by text on Wednesday 9/16/22. Found the booties I wanted and at the register realized I didnt have my wallet. Sunrise told me heyd hold the booties at atop discounted rate for me for a few days, which is great because I live 35 minutes inland. When I came back to buy, I was looked at like I was crazy, told the text went out the weekend before, denied the discount. Thanks for wasting an hour of my time and not honoring an agreement. Ill check Aqua East. If I could, Id give 0 stars on customer service.

Have bought at least 4 boards from here over the past 2 years. Since moving back this is my favorite surf shop as the staff is very knowledgeable and always treats you like your pro even if your just a beginner surfer. Came in yesterday as the first tume since corona hit dudnt get a chance to buy, but staff us still friendly, greets you in and out and just a great place. Always send our friends here.

No one talked to us, and all the sizes for womens bathing suits were tiny. There wasnt anything near my size (size 14 pants). Store looked clean and everything was good other than that.

This place is wonderful. Great staff, always willing to help. They also have the feel of a community service more than a shop, running a surf report by phone, hosting events and a team, and always giving advice. Smaller selection than some shops, but more intimate because of it. If youre just starting or need to upgrade or buy something, these guys are great.

I recently purchased a surf board for my son and had an issue with it relating to the manufacturing process. took it to the store and they had a resolution for me less than 24hrs later! great staff, great communication and great selection in store! Highly recommend

Great Staff! My daughter left her wallet, filled with cash, at the store and they held it until we could come back and pick it up.

I always try and support local businesses. This time I learned its not always the best option. We bought a HydroFlask from the shop with the thought we had an option to exchange it. We talked to the attendant who politely told us we could make an exchange for a different color. We sat on it for 2 weeks and finally called to ask about different colors. I was told that the person that deals with that Vendor was out and they would see if they could order the color I wanted. I did get a call back 2 days later and was told that they had just made their order and could not make another one. I was told that they only had the colors they had and that was it. From the original conversation with the attendant I was told I could order colors I wanted. Apparently, this is not the case. At this point I just wanted to return this and buy it online. However, I was outside of their 7 day return window. When asked if there was something that could be done I was told no. I tried contacting the shop through their contact us page, 1 week ago, and have yet to hear back. This is a disappointing experience with the Sunrise Surf Shop. Looking through their reviews it seems that their return policy is an issue. Sometimes trying to buy local will bite you in the butt. An online retailer like Amazon takes refunds and exchanges with no problem. You disappointed me Sunrise Surf Shop.

I kept wondering why my board always went to the left so seeing that one wheel was still not touching the ground after a couple months of skating got me to thinking something was wrong with the board. I figured the bushings would have been broken in by then.Matt was nice and very patient with me being a newbie to skateboarding. He took some time trying to figure out why one of my wheels doesnt touch the ground when on a flat surface. He tried everything but nothing helped. He took 3 new boards down and placed them all on two counters and only one had all 4 wheels touching down on the counter so he was going to call the rep to see if there was something wrong.I called the next day to talk to Matt to let him know to call me tomorrow since he was going to talk to the rep (big mistake) I got greg or garett dont remember the name. He was the one who sold us our boards and was very nice and even switched mine out when I took it back several weeks later after my first run with it. He noticed it was warped badly and swapped it out.Yesterday was a different story he (greg) seemed exasperated with me hardly let me talk told me I was criticizing every little thing and to just ride. He also said that the bushings needed to be broken in and riding once a week wasnt going to do it. He said he put the other two boards back and was going to sell them because there was nothing wrong with them.It felt like an argumentative conversation although I was just trying to explain what I felt was wrong. maybe he was tired of me because I did call him once after I got the new board to tell him it wasnt flat on the floor and later came in with it and he said it was badly warped. Second time was a couple weeks ago to see why one wheel wasnt spinning he adjusted it for me and told me I needed new bearings.The third time was yesterday so I guess I was being a nuisance and he was tired of it.He gave me good advise on breaking in the bushings but the damage was done. He talked to me like someone who has lost his patience with a 5 year old, talking loud and fast so you cant get in a word edge wise and condescending at times. I felt like I was being scoldedIm very new to this and was just trying to make sure there wasnt anything wrong with the deck.I can positively say I wont go back. No one deserves that kind of talking down to especially if its someone whose new and doesnt know the ins and outs.I do appreciate his advise and will take it now that I have a better understanding of how to get rid of the problem but the way it was delivered was very unprofessional and crossed a line between sales person and customer that left a bad taste for me. I cant go back if we ever need anything because that will always create tension in me.Im a soft spoken person so Im not sure why I got that treatment.Thanks for everything Matt and thanks Greg but you really need to be a little patient and keep in mind who youre talking to.

Ridiculous that their return policy is only seven days long even though I had a full receipt. the return policy wasnt on the receipts and I was never told about it. Now Im out $100 because I dont want to use the item I got as it wasnt for me and was a present I needed to return.
