I dont normally take the time to leave reviews, but I had such a great experience with JDM Auto Imports I feel I need to. All their cars are in spectacular condition. I couldnt believe it. All 25+ year old classics and just super clean inside, and outside. Max, and Erica, were both incredibly welcoming and flexible on meeting after hours to accommodate my work schedule. Very patient too, I had to take up two separate days to make the purchase due to a financing issue on my end. They took the time to show me all the cars and just had a great time hanging out after the sale. They were helpful with financing, insurance, registering the car in my state. Above and beyond all the way. The best experience Ive ever had purchasing a vehicle. Ill be back for sure.

By far the best car buying experience Ive ever had...and had and had! Shhh, JDM has become one of my vices: Over the past few years, we have purchased four vehicles (so far!) from JDM Auto Imports and could not be more pleased. We still own all four and greatly enjoy each of them. We own NINE cars...four of which are from JDM Auto Imports. My favorite thing about JDM has to be Max and Erica...the owners. We have never had such personalized service...even from expensive car dealers. One time they drove to Midway Airport in Chicago to deliver our car and twice theyve driven hours and hours to deliver our cars. It feels like theyre part of our family. NOW to the other thing I like most about owning a car from JDM, the ATTENTION we get from other drivers. We have so many great stories of encounters with people who are blown away by our JDM cars. One time, we were driving around town running errands and a car pulls up next to us on the right side so hes next to my husband whos driving and the driver is snapping photos of our car while driving 45 miles an hour and yelling, That is the coolest car I have ever seen. What makes this story even funnier is the car behind us that he passed on his way to scream about how amazing our car is, was a Mercedes Benz GT sports car that sells for six figures...my husband said, If I had spent 7 or 8 times the amount I spent on this car, I would not get one-tenth of the ATTENTION that I get from my JDM cars. Weve had people at stoplights take pictures of our cars and my husband often sees people behind him on the road taking pictures of our car. Another time we were on a 5-day road trip and when we got off the Interstate to get gas, a car followed us to the gas station just to ask us questions about our car (most popular question, Is it legal to drive with the steering wheel on the right side? And our response is that its legal for Postal trucks and its legal for us). ATTENTION for these cars can come from the oddest places. While getting license plates for one of our cars, the woman at the DMV had to call the Secretary of States office to have them ADD our Model to the computer database so they could process our title...they had Nissan but not the President model. The DMV lady asked us if we would wait 10 minutes to leave so she could come out to the parking lot on her break and take photos of our car to show her co-workers and friends. Speaking of the Nissan President - its my favorite because it has a hood ornament - we rarely are able to take it to the gas station without it turning into a photo shoot because everyone abandons their cars to take pictures of it...two elderly women said they like it better than any limousine theyve ever see (it looks like a Japanese Diplomats car). Another favorite story is about the time a woman yelled at me when I was in the passenger seat of the President to stop texting and to look at the road. I looked up and said, Im not driving, HE is! while I pointed at my husband on the right side of the car with a steering wheel in his hand. Her jaw dropped open and her eyes got bigger. Our favorite practical joke to play on other highway drivers is to wait until they are almost even with our car and for me to hold open a newspaper like Im reading it...the open newspaper hides the fact that someone is driving on the right-hand side of the car so it looks like Im in a driverless car. We absolutely have the most FUN ever driving our cars from JDM. I guess the best way to describe all the ATTENTION is to say, Its like having a celebrity in the family!

Let me start by saying I highly recommend JDM Auto Imports if you are looking for a top-notch RHD time capsule! I have known Max for over 4 years now. He runs a unique, high quality, honest, and successful business hand-picking and bringing the cleanest examples of JDM cars from Japan stateside and specifically to Midwest. I do not know any other JDM importer who takes such good care of his customers, by preparing the vehicle for delivery in a way that you are buying a car that essentially needs nothing mechanically or cosmetically (including new tires, all fresh fluids, like new interior and 5-year top notch ceramic coating) for years to come!Max is very professional, takes pride in his work, and passionate about what he does. This is not a place for tire kickers, however. If you have ever tried to sell your car privately, and not some junker, but a Mustang GT, a Corvette, a 911 Carrera, or a GT-R, you know that 90 percent of people who come to see the car never intend to buy it, but just want a joy ride. Admit it, you agree that it can be a frustrating experience with much of your time wasted. So, respect your time and the business’ time when you are considering to look at the inventory. I dont like leaving this kind of review, but I feel I need to with this company.I reached out to them a few weeks ago regarding a RX7 they had for sale, I was (and still am) very interested in buying it. I am also capable financially to purchase it. I called a few times and finally got ahold of the owner Max. I asked him if the car was available, he said it was. I asked if I could come check it out and he said he only lets people with bank preapproval come out because otherwise its a waste of time. I said okay ill talk to my bank. I also asked him why he thinks the car has been available so long (I first saw it on their website near the end of 2020). I cant recall what else I said, but I dont believe I said anything rude.Since that call a few weeks ago, I talked to my bank and got preapproval. So for the past week I have been trying to get in contact with this company, excited because I was about to be able to go buy an RX7 that ive always wanted.I called 10-15 times in a week, no calls back.I left 2 or 3 voicemails, no call back.I emailed them twice, no reply.I put a contact through their website, no reply.Finally, today I texted their phone number thinking it was a cell. The owner Max replied to me saying You were rude when we spoke. We are not interested in further communication with you. Have a good evening. Max, Owner.I read this and panic, trying to recall what I could have possibly said to be rude. I pleaded with Max to explain what I did or said, I apologized (though I dont know what for), told them I really was sorry about whatever I might have said because to be honest I really want the Rx7 they allegedly have for sale.He has not texted me back.The only thing I can think of is this is a scam business. I didnt say or do anything that was rude and they wont even tell me what I did. It is very fishy to me that youd be willing to turn down a $45,000 sale over someone being rude and then not even tell them what they said that was so rude.I dont suggest working with this company.

My son and I have been looking for JDM vehicles for almost 3 years. We have visited many places that sell JDM vehicles, no one has come remotely close to JDM Auto Imports, the vehicles are immaculate, they go the extra 20 miles for the certifications of the odometer. I purchased 2 vehicles online sight unseen except for the great pictures that they post. The transaction was smooth with a hiccup on my part that was caught right away. Max responded quickly to all my emails and answered all my questions, and assisted with getting me quotes for the shipping of both vehicles to the East Coast. I will attach photos once the vehicles arrive. Erica who is the General Manager sent all the paperwork with an explanation of what needs filled out. Amazing transaction! Looking forward to my next purchase.

I am quite pleased with this business. Communicating by E-mail was prompt and professional. My lending institution required an appraisal of the car I bought, and JDM was accommodating to that fact. Their patience is also certainly laudable. What should have been a two week process including time to mail documents back and forth turned into about 5 weeks. There were a few details about the car, particularly the interior, that were not shown in pictures or explicitly disclosed, I chalk it up to part and parcel of buying a used car. Virtually all 25+ year-old cars are going to have cosmetic and potentially mechanical and electrical issues; such minor issues are not really a demerit in my opinion. All in all, 5 of 5, would conduct business again.

I wish there were more options that weren’t sold. I originally gave a two star rating. Had to change it because I see what you guys are doing and thought to my self there’s nobody near me selling these cars. I love them and respect what you guys are doing.

Amazing customer service. Wouldnt go anywhere else to buy rare, vintage Japanese automobiles. Very knowledgeable staff with years of experience. The condition of the cars are impecible and almost unbelievable. You defiantly need to see to believe. If you are in the market for rare Japanese automobiles look no further!

My wife and I purchased a 1991 Toyota Celsior from JDM Auto Imports. It had only 23K certified miles on it! We drove from Wisconsin through Canada to Nova Scotia in May, 2018 (2,100 miles in total). The car was amazingly smooth, quiet, and responsive; in fact, it was more luxurious than newer luxury cars our friends own. AND, the only thing we did to prepare for the trip was to change the oil on the Celsior. AMAZING automobile. Thank you, JDM Auto Imports for importing only the best JDM classic automobiles.
