Went in to get some shampoo. In the back saw there was a buy one get one half off. Thought I was grabbing the product it was referring to. No big deal that it wasn’t. When the lead cashier Devon was checking us out when I mentioned we thought it was half off the second bottle her first comment was “it’s in the fine print.” I didn’t argue because I probably understood it wrong. We bought one bottle but returned it a minute later to return the shampoo. I know me not coming back to the location won’t matter to them but if you’re gonna work in customer service like I do then there are better phasing if words you can use than to make someone feel like they were dumb about a honest mistake. Customers don’t always read the fine print. Better phrasing, “ I apologize for the confusion. Unfortunately…. “ or something along those lines. I will just order from another company online no big deal. Phasing might seem insignificant but it’s those kind of phrasing alone I will go to another ULTA stores and never this one again or just order on Amazon for convenience instead of experience like others.

I think I am like a kid in a candy store here. Always helpful and kind . Yes sometimes super busy but my favorite place in the world and store is always evolving adding new products and keeps up with all the new trends for sure . This was a blessing coming to Janesville. So awesome ! I always find something I like . Great selection!

This store is awesome. Holly and Charmin always do a great job in the salon. If you get your hair done there, you will walk out as pretty as the posters.

Everyone is always so helpful and polite. when I searched the product I wanted it stated that a gift came along with it. Also I purchased the size up because the email also said after spending $75 you would receive a bag. In addition to that, the email had a $3 coupon. I was not able to use the coupon due to the brand I purchased, there was no gift for the product as stated and there was no bag for spending over $75. I was not out of my perfume, I had decided to go in today because of the perks. The cashier did give me small silver bag after I asked about it but not what I came for or was in the email. This is the first time I have bern disappointed.

I had scheduled two wedding makeup appointments under my name—one for me and one for my sister in law. My appointment, which was later, got cleared out on accident when my sister in law had hers, but when I arrived for my appointment they were very accommodating and she fit me in right away. It was a heavier application than I’m used to, but it looked very nice and wore well through my reception.

Asked for help and the sweet (pregnant ) lady helped direct us right where we had to go

First time in any of these stores. I was surprised with the large variety of brands and specials/deals. Great products for natural curly hair like Deva Curl & Ouidad. Three different store employees offered help and were very nice. I didnt buy anything, I was only looking but definitely will come back.

I had such a great experience at this Ulta. I was greeted right when I walked in the door and then Vicki spent so much time with me. She answered all of my questions and was so sweet and helpful. This actually isnt the closest Ulta to me but anytime Im in the area I will definitely choose this store over the Sun Prairie store!

Very helpful people/good service. However I got to check & spent over $200 and they crammed everything in a small bag that look like it was going to explode. You would think if you spent over $200 you get a decent bag.

I usually love Ulta and everything IN&About it. However my experience at this particular location I was not so pleased with. Employees were not very informative on products and had to search for employees on several occasions, finally gave up.

Initially I had gone in to get my hair done because my friend referred this place. After sitting in a chair for 6 hours my hair was destroyed. The stylist put in a very ashy tone in my hair when I had asked for a lighter blonde. After an attempt to fix my hair it went Brown! The next day the manager offered to fix it and i came out orange after having gone in with pretty platinum highlights and just wanted more put in! DO NOT go here. My hair is now fried and falling out and will soon have to cut most of it off! The stylist was Kayla which needs to work on her consultations and the manager said I would have to put with a golden color when clearly it was just orange. Bad Bad service and will be calling for a refund.

The sale signs were very misleading. The sale price often only applies to one shade, but this is not made clear and the placement of the sale signs makes it look like all shades are on sale. Also, the cashier was trying to get us to sign up for a membership and would NOT take no for an answer. I literally said no at least 5 different ways before she would let me just pay and leave. Also, with all the allegations of Ulta putting used products back on the floor for sale, its just not worth it. Will not be returning.

I normally order online, however have shopped in store a few times. I have had good experiences at this location when I did venture in. I was looking for a lightweight, no fuss foundation for days where I needed a little something, but didnt need a full face of make-up. The girl who helped me was great. She helped me find what I was looking for and applied it on my face. She then put a little blush on so my face didnt look so flat with just the foundation. I was very pleased with this experience. However, I do agree with other reviewers who stated lines are always long. Id also like to add that there is really no clarification where the lines should be with the way the displays are set up in front of the registers. It is very sloppy. At one visit someone tried forming a 2nd line since there were 2 cashiers working and that seemed to be too much for the cashiers to handle. They apparently only wanted 1 very long line formed.

I love Ulta, BUT, the service here was terrible. I spent 30 minutes here and not once, NOT ONCE was I approached to see if I needed help. There were plenty of people around, both managers and associates alike but no one helped. The managers were too busy talking about the other stores they ran and other business related things that I didnt need to over hear. Hopefully they can get things better next time.

My girlfriend makes me come here. Its cool and all but I dont understand makeup and all the colors look the same. But my girlfriend will tell you that lemon is different from popping yellow. 🤔

Charmonne is AMAZING when it comes to hair. I have had my hair done by her a few times now and I am always impressed. She recently did a balayage and her color placement is phenomenal. I was skeptical of letting anyone cut my hair because it has never turned out how I like but she listens to what you want and she makes she you get it! If you want great hair book with Charmonne.

Mixed feelings on this location. I went in looking for a new foundation. I asked the associate if she could put some on me so I could pick one that looked at felt good. She said no. She said if I wanted to be color matched that’s fine but I needed to pay to have it put on. Ultimately I didn’t buy anything. She put some foundation on my cheek but it’s really hard to get an idea of how it covers and how it feels from just a small patch. Plus I thought the color was horrible. Super disappointed. Other locations it hasn’t been an issue and I felt confident making purchases based off of the products they used.

When I come here with my girlfriend, she always leaves happy. If shes happy, im happy. 5/5 stars.

I love this store, but...This last visit, I couldnt win. There werent prices on the e.l.f. items or Wet n Wild. There was a FANTASTIC deal where if you spend a certain amount on their branded stuff, you got a kick-a$$ free gift. So I looked. And I searched. And NOT ONE SINGLE EMPLOYEE was to be found so that I could ask about the lack of black eyeliners. The whole section was bone bare. The testers didnt match the available stock. Im lucky I found a concealer, since apparently I lost my tan since I moved here to Wisconsin and Im now a default shade.And dont get me started on the sell out of Jeffree Star/Morphe brushes and sponges. I know its not the stores fault. But at least my cashier sympathized with me. She was a doll.Thats the thing with this store. Selection might blow chunks sometimes, and its damn near impossible to find an associate on the sales floor, but when you do find someone, and when you check out, the service is actually quite great. Just bear that in mind!

I went into Ulta today (12/23/19) . I went and got Alterna CAVIAR hair products. The sign says spend $40 and get a free gift the CC cream that has a value of about $30 . I went and checked out with Madeline and tried to use a 20% coupon it didn’t work because the product was already 20% off. She then tried to tell me I couldn’t reuse the coupon even though it didn’t apply to my products. She then understood she didn’t use it and gave it back to me. I asked for my gift and see told me they were out. I asked if I could get it online or get something of the same value. She then asked her cashier lead Katie G. She said she could give me a mascara that was smaller than my pinky. I was very unsatisfied with this solution. They didn’t care. I was just about to go back in a return everything and order online. But I ended up going back into the store where they sold the Hair products and saw the CC cream on the shelf. I think I found the manager and asked if I could just have this as my free give because it was the same thing LITERALLY THR SAME THING. She didn’t question it at all and told me to go the lead cashier Katie G again . I checked out without a problem. I was very disappointed in the staff not willing to problem solve or try at all. Rather just shop online next time .

Most Ultas are awesome! My experience today was below sub-par. I was looking at beauty blenders in the prestige section and asked if there were anymore as there were only 3 on display and I was directed to the drug store side. As if I shouldnt be on the prestige side. (The workers words, not mine). I didnt know there were sides. Kind of reminded me of a scene out of pretty woman! The cashier wasnt the nicest either, doesnt hurt to be personable or friendly people.

Im really happy that Janesville finally has a major beauty store like Ulta! The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Anything beauty related you can find here at a variety of prices. Theres nothing bad I can say about the store!

I did some electrical work there. The ladies are very nice and personable.

I would not shop here for anything. Theres way too much stuff and no one to help. Plus they are not knowledgeable on the products. Being a previous counter manager for one of the top cosmetic lines in the world, I was very disappointed at how poorly these brands are represented. It really is a shame that someone decided to lump them all together and take the personalization out of shopping for skin care.

We had never been to an Ulta Beauty store and there are few shops in the west of Ireland that come close to the range offered here. We were lucky to be invited to a Bare Minerals event in the Janesville location. The staff and event organisers were top notch. We were so glad we stopped in!

*rant that sounds like I’m a middle aged woman named debbraOkay nevermind I guess I don’t like ulta that much.I went in again this week to get some shampoo and conditioner to help repair my hair (break off, super bad split ends, and dry). She was bussy at the time with a client and I still had better help with her versus anyone else. She took the time to quickly show where the good shampoo/conditioner was. Took less than two minuets. Then, when I walked around for twenty minutes and everyone was busy. I understand it’s a Friday afternoon,but I asked someone where some lip plumper lipstick would be (I have tiny lips I’m sorry!). She said “ I don’t know” without even looking at me and she continued to do what she was doing. whelp, I guess I’m ordering online and I’m too ugly to look at.Last time I remembered working in retail UPT (units per transaction) is what helps businesses thrive (would’ve been at least. 15-22$ sale) That is all. Hope you guys have a better day there. bye.

Its Ulta, men be prepared to be board and make an excuse to leave as soon as possible. Fake a back pain, pretending to be Ill, say the smell makes you nauseous. Whatever works to get to fresh air as soon as possible do it!

Always top notch specialized service at this store. With both anchors in this mall all but gone, Ulta is pretty much the only Oasis in Janesville to get high end cosmetics.

Did not have all samples of perfume available, store attendants said samples had to be ordered separately. They couldnt just open a box to be used as a tester. This was really disappointing as a perfume I really wanted to try was not available for testing.

I love this store and the customer service is fantastic!! Sadly, there are never enough employees at the registers and the lines are always really long. I hope more staff is hired for the holidays. I hate to see brick and mortar stores go out of business because of online shopping but it’s always easier than having 10 people in line ahead of you and 1 cashier.
