I highly recommend Jersey City Bicycle Co. for any and all bicycle repairs. After not riding my single speed for a few years, Chris and his team did an incredible job at repairing and fixing it up for me to ride again. They replaced the tires, brakes and chain, all while ensuring that it rides like new again. I definitely recommend them.

This place is great! Any issue I have they are eager to help and get me back on the road ASAP. My dog is also a huge fan, when ever he comes he’s greeted with love!

I went to another bike repair shop in JC Downtown and they told me my bike was out of repair. So I discovered Jerrsey City Bicycle Co. and they returned my bike as new in a short time and for a better price. I just have to thank these guys!

Wouldnt recommend this place - took my bike in for a tune up, they kept my bike for a week, and when I went to pick it up they clearly hadnt done anything to it. They quickly changed the brakes while I was standing there (and put mountain bike brakes on my road bike) and charged me $100. There are a lot of bike repair places in this area - if youre looking for a tune up, go somewhere else.

For a little bike shop Chris at Jersey City Bike Shop really knows how to deliver BIG! When i contacted Chris last week I was looking for a Specialized Sirrus, unfortunately he did not carry Specialized, he pointed me in the right direction suggesting different brands and models that might interest me. I ended up landing on a pretty badass Bianchi Csport-1. I never even thought I would be able to afford a Bianchi so i was pumped! I made a little mistake and had him order the wrong bike, as soon i as realized my mistake and notified him he assured me it was no problem and contacted the rep and took care of the problem! On the day i went to pickup my bike, everything was ready to go.... he fitted me on my bike made sure everything was the way i wanted it... there was only one problem, on my way out I saw another Bianchi he had in the window.... I knew my wife would love it... I took a picture to send to her and he let me know we could work out a deal on that one if I wanted.... well guess what, we went and picked that one up today as well! Super pumped on both our bikes and my family and i went on a nice ride today it was fantastic! Thanks Chris! you are freaking awesome!!!!

This company has had my bike for over a year. I rode my e-bike in for a rear tube replacement. They broke my rear axel, sent me home. never reached out to me.months later they got back to me saying they kept special ordering the wrong part. They are trying to charge me for the pieces THEY broke to the tube of almost $400.Absolute theft! I am filing a police report. Avoid this place at all costs.UPDATE: let me clarify for the owner after his response-- the bike was a demo bike, given to my friend Matt who lent it to me during covid. I rode the bike in to get the tube repaired because i didnt want to deal with it. I came back 30 min later to them hammering on it he axel, looking embarrassed. I originally submitted a yelp review months ago. In that review included photos of our text conversation where im clearly being more than accommodating, and you even initially admit fault. Thank you for accusing me of theft, but thats not the case. the only crime here is you trying to extort me. i look forward to seeing you in court.

Best place in Jersey to get your bike fixed up, the crew is awesome, they always walk me through whats wrong with my bike and help me prevent further damage, cant recommend them enough. They also have a great selection of accessories, I always pick something up when Im there.

Yesterday I went to a bike repair store to get my breaks fixed and fill air in the tires.The store said it was open on my phone but it was not when I went there, there was a paper saying it was closed. I found this store Bike Co near by today so decided to go there today it was raining and o had to walk 15 minutes to the store I reach there and it said BACK 1:45. So I went home and came back around 1:45 It was still closed so I waited there for 15 minutes no one came I walked a total of 1 hour in the rain just for this.

A wonderful experience ! I came in with a rusty chain and some funky gear shifting, and Chris was able to help me out right away and fixed it right up while I had a little chill time in the park nearby. Came back to get the bike and he refused to charge me for the time. Overall really nice energy in the shop, very calm and friendly, and not at all aloof, which I have found some bike shops tend to be.

Got the basic tune-up package: chain lubricated, my breaks replaced and the cables tightened. I dropped off my bike before before noon on Saturday, and it was ready in 1.5 hours. Job satisfactory; thanks, Tito! Patrons were somewhat respectful not to overcrowd the shop.

To be honest, I have got excellent services from this bike store, I used manual bike before and he gave me amazing maintenance service when the bike got wrong and one day I told him I need electral folding bike and he brought and assembled me what I needed type of bike amazingly. Even he sold me strong uneasily cut bike lock and mostly I tied my bike outside infront of my home and more persons tried to stole it but never cut it

My experience at this bike shop was exceptional. The owner is knowledgeable and helful. I was able to get my bike fixed when I brought it in with no appointment. Most of the other bike shops in the area I have been to want you too leave your bike for a day or more or come in at another time. They have 2 locations in Jersey City. Ive found my bike shop and happy because they are trust worthy and not pompous.

My Kona(first ever bike; 4 years) was stolen in the very beginning of this summer. (About two weeks ago from this review) I walked into The Jersey City Bicycle Company knowing nothing but I wanted a fixed gear. Took my 20 plus year old mountain bike in for an overhaul. Chris knew the brand and assured me it was worth fixing up. I told him to take his time and do a good job, Ten days later it looked like a new bike!! Plus the actual bill came in short of his quote. Very polite and friendly too. This was my first time ordering a bicycle from a bicycle shop and my experience was quite pleasant. My order took longer then expected due to the pandemic but Chris was there to reassure me about the bike situation and was working hard to make it happen. In the end Chris made it happen and I received my brand new bicycle that I am very satisfied with. Now time for some bike rides. :)

Great guy. Really helped and gave me a straight suggestion. Had my front derailleur checked and was informed that I need to change my cable. He even showed me what is happening in my bike right now. I will definitely bring my bike here again and I strongly recommend this shop.

I would rate zero but cant, just horrible service. I paid for new parts half of them werent even installed or not properly. Took over a month to even work on bike but had to come back three different times for them to fix bike for them to tell me I need more parts. Not to mention phone number listed doesnt even work so good luck trying to get in touch with someone because the hours open listed are just for show since owner will open shop whenever he feels like it. This place is a joke to anyone who works for their money...

Chris is a genuinely nice guy which is really hard to come by as a business owner. His shop has a great neighborhood feel and you can tell he treats it as an extension of his home. His staff is excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly. A welcome experience for all.

I spent a few months thinking about what kind of bike to get. But theres nothing like getting my butt on a saddle and going on some test rides to get a feel for different bikes. I walked in and started telling Chris about what I was hoping to get out of a bike. I test rode a Bianchi Pista he had in-store; it was nice but not quite what I was looking for.His shop isnt a huge operation so he cant really keep a ton of bikes in-stock. But he makes up for that with his knowledge of bikes and being willing to work with you in getting you what you want. While he didnt have any All City bikes in stock, he told me he was willing to get one in if I wanted to test ride it.The bike came in and was assembled about a week after our conversation. I went on a test ride and loved it. Now Im working with him on getting a few additions to the bike and again, while he doesnt have a ton in-stock, hes more than willing to order stuff for me. Amazing customer service! I highly recommend Chris and Jersey City Bicycle Co regardless of what type of bike youre looking for, whether its a road bike, mountain bike, city cruiser, fixie, cargo bike, or a kids bike.

The worst shop. The worst experience. We were visiting from out of town. Terrible service.The reviews on here must be phony. These guys don’t know what they’re doing. Don’t take your bike here if you value it. They did not even know that you’re supposed to keep the tube valve straight.They installed it at an angle and we got a flat straight away. Clueless. Really great bike shop, had a couple of flats in a week and Chris helped me out with each one of them. Because of their frequency he even just charged for the tube rather than the service fee as well. Overall satisfied with everything and would come back for any more future bicycle problems!

In the pouring rain i came to get my bike repaired at 5:45pm. Some kid, maybe 13, is running the shop, telling me theyre closed. You close at 7. I rushed here. Doesnt matter.I am there to spend money, rushing over to get help. I ask what time do you open and I dont get a clear answer. He comes to the door and shoots of dollar amounts of what it would cost to fix this or that. A little rude but I dont think he meant to be. He told me to go to another shop down the block, which i suspect he knew was closed as he sent me there.

Recently got new tires put on for my road bike and the owner Chris, and I got a LOT more than new tires. Chris gave me a detailed run down of my bike, the bike manufacturer and good rides to take in and around Jersey City. I could tell that his knowledge on riding and working with bikes was top shelf. Came in because I was looking for a bike to commute to work. I was on a really tight budget. I talked to Chris and he gave me some options and honest feedback. I told him I wanted to think about it. No pressure at all to buy, no shade (which I truly appreciated). After thinking about all my options I went back and decided to go with a bike he had suggested. He ordered it and put it together and I just picked it up today. Couldn’t be happier. No bs, all knowledge, and friendly too. I won’t go anywhere else.

I’ve been trying to come here for weeks to fix something on a bike I bought here. It says open at 10:30 but every time I come in the morning the door is locked. No answer via phone and the mailbox is always full. This is a huge bummer. If you guys don’t open at 10:30am, please change the time online as I’ve come countless times and it’s closed. I’ll happily change this review if SOMEONE opens on time and gets back to me. I shouldn’t have to make an appointment about this.Edit to reply:I came today (Thursday) at 10:30 and it wasn’t open. Stayed until 11, there were others that waited as well. I totally understand about the yelp thing, the hours here are on google though unless they’re linked somehow? I got hit by a car 7 years ago and recently felt like riding again. Chris, took the old parts off of my broken frame and put them on a new frame I bought from craigslist. The bike ended up needing a few extra parts that didnt fit the new frame and once everything was finished, it was like I got my dream bike. It was light, responsive, and fit perfectly. All the parts were tastefully chosen to match the color and style of my frame.Chris was patient with me throughout the whole process and answered all my questions via e-mail with the quickness. Im really happy with my bike and thank Chris and Jersey City Bicycles Co. with getting me on the perfect bike to enjoy the freedom of riding again.

Ive been to J.C.B.C. a bunch of times to fix my bike, especially for flats. Chris has always been extremely attentive and truly cares about helping his customers. I always appreciate his candor and how he makes no qualms about selling quality products that might cost a little bit more, but in which he believes in. As someone who lives in the neighborhood and rides a bike every day, its great to know that J.C.B.C. is around the corner and can always be counted on.

I was in here on Friday afternoon with my daughter and husband looking for a Marin fairfax . I met with Josh who was extremely helpful . Although they didn’t have any in stock, josh did show us other options and explained the differences to my husband and I .We test rode a bianchi and while it wasn’t quite what we were looking for the service over all was impeccable. Patient and friendly staff .

Last week I had the pleasure of stumbling upon JCBC. I don’t have any knowledge whatsoever if bikes so when I waked in i was impressed to find the actual store owner behind the counter. This is rare since people who own a company rarely work in their own stores when they can just hire employees. So he patiently ran by me many types of bikes and accessories that I’d need through-out my bike journey and we picked it a bike. Several customers walked in and he handled everyone in a respectful timely manner. My bike arrives within the week and the best part was it was assembled before I picked it up. I’d give JCBC 5 STARS, and it’s family friendly as well!

Emailed Chris on Saturday morning about a last-minute repair to my ancient Trek 720 Multitrack. I had never stepped foot in his shop before. He told me to bring it in ASAP. Upon arriving, the mechanic (sorry, I did not get his name) put the bike in the stand and 30 minutes later, it was complete.This type of service is rare in this day and age. JC Bicycle Co sells, repairs and talks bikes. They do not push an image like many other shops do. Their prices on repairs and parts are below what other shops in the area charge.These guys are the real deal and this is now my go to shop for all my cycling needs. Thanks Chris!

Happy to welcome this local bike shop in Mcginley Square. My bike is a little hard to service, sealed chain case with nexus 7 internally geared hub. These guys are legit and can fix your bike. Reasonable prices, fast service too.
