I guess its a fine dance school, but the classes are way too easy for children who want to take dance seriously as myself. They dumb everything down too much, and dont challenge the kids enough. I know they work with children so of course they have to dumb it down but come on? Children who want to take dance seriously are not challenged at all, and everything is easy, and dumbed down. The dance recital this year was embarrassing, a literal one minute performance that took two months to learn while at other, better dance schools you learn in a day. Also you dont learn anything new in these classes. If i have some notes, challenge children is one. Especially the ones who try to take dance seriously unlike the children who go there bc their parents signed them up to get out of the house. And two, teach kids new things in most classes. I never learned anything new. Just the same thing every class. And three, dont dumb things down. Dance is about discipline, and what theyre doing is certainly not that. Not saying they have to be cruel and mean but dont dumb things down. Overall a fine dance studio, but they do the bare minimum.

Hudson West Folk Festival at Nimbus had great musical talent tonight. Great small concert experience and sound system.

Hope Jersey City, is a great community and very talented. The Sundays events are very well put together at this great and modern venue!!

So many reasons to love this place! I was looking for a good dance school for my seven year old daughter. She started ballet at another place, but I found the classes to be overcrowded, and the instructors didnt teach the names of positions or how to count with the music. I found NIMBUS to be a great balance between good, quality instruction while also being appealing to children. All the teachers are professional dancers. The classes are small, and her teacher makes things fun and understandable without sacrificing instruction.Another reason I love this place is that its an organization that is dedicated to furthering the arts in Jersey City. Every year they have the Jersey City Nutcracker, which has a mix of youth performers (regular Jersey City kids :-) ) and professional dancers from their company. On top of that, their dancers also teach dance in the local public schools.If youre looking for great instruction for your little ones (or big ones--they have classes for older kids and adults, too!) as well as supporting an organization that also supports the community, youve found a great place!

Very professional company beautiful works. My daughter loves learning dance from their experienced and professional teachers. Theyve also open a program in the public school system where my children go and it is wonderful. I highly recommend classes and attending their performances.

I’m so excited that my daughter will be attending Nimbus in the fall . I met Justin and he is so nice and warm . We are ready for the fall season, I have heard so many wonderful reviews on Nimbus and so happy to be apart of it .

They had a workout wellness day event today n it was great, the classes, the vendors, it was well organized-from sign in to raffles to classes etc. Variety on all offerings- many different classes, many different vendors, my friends and I had a great time! I would recommend the next time they have one.

Nimbus Dance Works is my second home! (And frankly I kind of like it better there than my first home!) Dance and community involvement come together to form a family of art loving people that is expanding every year at Nimbus! I hope to continue to dance at Nimbus for as long as possible :)

Extremely happy to be a member of the company. It is a great pleasure to work with Nimbus Dance Works. At the moment I am only dancing for the company, but soon I will start teaching as well. I am going to start a Pilates class at Nimbus. The school gives the opportunity for kids and adults to learn, move and have fun at the same time.

Nimbus Dance is doing brilliant things in Jersey City. They are enriching lives through dance by reaching out into the community and inspiring young dancers in the surrounding area. Sams enthusiasm for teaching really creates a positive experience. Definitely the place to dance!

I first encountered Nimbus at a local street fair. I had been looking for a new dance school to place my youngest daughter into. The previouse dance school I had her older sister in was very commercial. I felt the emphasis was placed on overpriced dance costumes and pictures. I wanted something more structured and instructional and do away with all the fluff. I wanted my daughter to love the art of dance and I wasnt seeing that in the previous school. When I checked out Nimbus, I immediately loved the atmosphere! Since the school is in conjunction with a dance company, the instruction and professionalism was impressive. The teachers themselves are members of the dance company which is an advantage to the students! My daughter was 4 yrs when she first started at Nimbus and as you can imagine, a young class like that would be a hand full. However, I was impressed on how the teachers handled themselves and the children to get them involved and and keep their attention span which is hard at that age. My daughter has since participated in an end of year recital as well as in the Nutcracker this past holiday alongside the dance company. The talent displayed is so inspiring and I am so priveleged to be a part of it! My daughter, along with her older sister, will be entering her second year at Nimbus at their new dance space, and we are absolutely excited!

Awesome dance school. Most passionate bunch. Love the instructors and every production. Nimbus is life!!!!

My two daughters are dancing with Nimbus Dance Works since we have moved to Jersey City (a year ago) and discovered the school by chance I must say! They love the school, the teachers and the Artistic Director, Samuel Pott. Besides performing semi-annual recital, they have had the chance to perform in Jersey City Nutcracker with the dancers of the company and to see a rehearsal from Martha Graham Dance Company.
