This is a really cute cozy spot! I loved the environment in this cafe, however staff was just okay. The Spanish Iced Latte with almond milk is sooo good!!! The cannoli was alright and the red velvet was good. I would have to come again and try the food menu items.

I ordered avocado toast and they sent this. Guacamole toast is what they should name it. The service is terrible. Ordered through Uber eats. Called to explain to them that I ordered avocado toast and This is guacamole and she said that that’s what they consider avocado toast and that all restaurants are different. Super rude even hung up the phone on me. I will never order from here again. On top of the fact that they send guacamole instead of avocado slices the guacamole was old and dark which means it just sits out. Place is disgusting. SMH.

Visited NJ for the first time in May and tried a smoothie here and fell in love and now after moving here permanently it’s the only thing I buy consistently from here! The place is always super clean and the smoothies are always great and I buy at least two every week. I look forward to trying out the other menu items!

I’m so happy I came across this cafe. I’m very particular with my breakfast and so far I’m truly satisfied within every order I’ve received! This place is a must if you haven’t tried! Their French toast platter is to die for. Iced caramel macchiato? The bomb!!

Best Guava Pastries! Nice size with a good amount of guava in them. Purchased during COVID times, phone call order, saw outdoor dining only. Place looked clean and well maintained.

They have reopened, yay! This cafe is adorable, clean, and they have some great deals for very good food. They also have plenty of indoor seating, but no outdoor as of yet.When I came by, I grabbed their all day $7 breakfast platter with pancakes, sausage, and eggs, and I wasnt disappointed. I also tried their fruit strawberry kiwi smoothie, which was fresh and not too sweet. Although, next time Ill ask for a little less sugar.With their big case of pastries staring at me during my wait, I caved in and got the chocolate Hersheys cake. I was also very good, although it would have been nice if they let me know that it contained rum. No biggie, but rum has a very distinct flavor.Overall, its a great cafe. They have very nice servers and very reasonably prices. Ill definitely come back!

Cute new spot in the neighborhood! Definitely coming back. I had an avocado toast w egg salad. It was very yummy. I didnt really like it served w a sweet side, but no big deal. They have few books, reading corner, big community table at the back and prepared salads/sandwiches etc in the fridge for a quick pick up. Service was friendly and fast.

Amazing food and service. At first it took a bit long for someone to assist me, but the staff was aware of it and immediately assisted me. Service was great from there on.

Food was good . Service sucked . Didn’t even put utensils in the bag. My boyfriend called them saying they didn’t put utensils in the bag . No apologizes were given. Just told that they don’t give utensils to pick up orders because they assume ppl are going home to eat. We in fact we’re going to have a picnic in the park. First and last time going here

Ive only had their Thai bubble tea but its one of my favorite drinks. It seems pretty reasonably priced

This place is very clean and spacious, very comfy to just go and sit with your laptop and enjoy some of their drinks. The food is very great, especially the Unica Bowl, it is very tasty. The tea and bubble tea collection is great and diverse. Furthermore, the price is not that expensive and very reasonable for the quality and quantity they offer. The people that work there are very friendly, polite and fast to take your order. Usually I dont wait, and never had problems with missing orders or a wrong order. Overall I would recommend this place if you just want to get some quick brunch for less than 10 bucks.

The food is good and coffee is good but this place feels very unwelcoming. The staff doesnt greet you or even look at you when you come in so youre just standing there waiting for them to take your order. At that the women workers are snobby and act like theyre annoyed, I was waiting there for my coffee for a while, I was the only one in store while they just go back and forth not even acknowledging me, it took me to give them attitude for them to realize I was waiting for my coffee in an empty store! Never going back.

Central Ave is rapidly becoming a destination for bakeries that also serve as cafes. La Única is the latest to open with a higher end feel, good food and reasonable prices. I highly recommend their mango tea and chicken sandwich (which is a bit Cuban style).

I really wanted to like this place, but ... . FIrst, the positive, it’s a lovely environment and space to hang out in. However, food is not very good. My hot chocolate tasted like it was the cheap packets you get in the grocery store (I have an upgraded Hershey hot chocolate at home that tasted better than this.). But I kept Hope. However, The waffle tasted like a box-mix and it was super rubbery and dry (not sure if it was made in a microwave or an oven, or from frozen. Homemade waffle mix is such a simple thing. ) The home fries were not that tasty nor the eggs. Sausage was good, they had no bacon available.Needless to say, I was super disappointed, bc google showed almost 5 stars. I should have looked at Yelp also, which has 4 stars. The ingredients are way sub-par and it shows. I even wanted to try dessert when I first walked in, but after the other food, I didn’t want to take the chance.Don’t think I’ll be returning.Advice: You have plenty to work with, don’t mess it up by cutting corners on your food—the main event.

Very chic stylish cafe serving healthy juices and smoothies. The mango banana smoothie comes standard with out milk and is so delicious. The pineapple ginger spinach juice is pleasing and not bland and tasteless. The chicken quesadilla platter is a favorite. It is unlike most drab quesadillas out there. It comes with a seasoned side salad, guacamole, pepper, and Sour cream all on the side. The beef and chicken empanadas are not greasy and fried, and there is generous portion of meat inside. The best part is that the pricing is very reasonable

Asked for Bubble Tea and told them not to put so much ice instead of filling the cup with coffee they said we cannot fill up the cup with coffee and they charge the full price for it and they r rude too

This is one of my favorite go to spots! My favorite things to order from here are their bubble tea, hot teas and la única bowl. Sometimes they lack consistency but I still order here because the environment is so beautiful and clean and the workers are typically very nice!

If you wanna get some decent brunch for like 10 bucks this is absolutely the place you want to go. The quality and freshness of the food goes well beyond their prices. Also the spot is clean and the staff are awesome.

Finally some decent bubble tea in the heights! I still have to try the food options, but them having decent bubble tea for about $4 means I dont have to travel into Hoboken just to get my fix!

Ordered omelette and flan. Omelette was ok, but flan was covered with mold - terrible. Do not recommend.

I enjoy going to Unica cafe they have good coffee and a relaxing vibe. It is so far my favorite cafe on Central Ave Jersey City.

I dont know if this place changed ownership but it will be changed for the worse. They no longer have food ready for purchase, let alone the service. They have person who serve badly as if the customer will not pay. improve that because before they were the best

I love this place. Everything is so fresh and yummy and the staff is super sweet. The atmosphere inside is very relaxing.

All the hot drinks I’ve tried so far I’ve liked. And I particularly enjoy the bubble teas. I unfortunately can’t say the same for their bakery items. The mango mousse pastry didn’t taste like mango and the mini red velvet cupcake was bone dry. I don’t come for pastries any more but I’ve often stopped by for a caffeinated drink and the service is always pleasant.

I’m so happy to have this amazing place near my home. I personally enjoy everything from the menu to an excellent service and the atmosphere itself. All the details in furniture, artificial plants and aura are great.Thank you to the owner, manager and stuff for making each of my numerous visits a special one.

Good food spot on central ave

The owner came out to greet me and was very friendly. Explained his whole background. Blend of Asian and Cuban pastries, had samples out to try. Cashiers were SUPER friendly and helpful. The treats I got (Strawberry chocolate cake, chocolate sponge cake, and carrot cake muffin) were DELICIOUS. Prices are extremely good. Will definitely be going back SOON.

The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are the kindest and most respectful that Ive encountered in my life. I was born and raised in the area and words cannot describe how happy I am to have such a great spot near me. Looks like I will have to put in extra work at the gym.

I tried La Unica bowl and it was great tasting. It is reasonably priced, portion was quite large and all ingredients were fresh and yummy. Will definitely revisit.

They have gluten free muffins that were to die for! Staff was really nice and the mocha, delicious. They asked weird questions for a mocha but say yes to all of them!

Cant express enough how much I love this place. Everyone is super friendly, the owner saw my girlfriend and I once and he recognized us a few weeks later. Prices are very fair and most importantly the baked goods are delicious!
