Buyer BEWARE. Worst dealership I have ever been to. They lie, cheat and dont take care of your vehicle. They dented mine while it was in for recalls. Had to involve the Court. They do not have any work ethic or responsibility to their customers. I have had multiple dealings with this company and not a single one has been positive.
Yeah I just called them and spoke to them and he said that he cannot put my Subaru engine together because it was a liability… And was almost very short with me and he works with the Subaru dealership in Juneau Alaska I am shocked
I live in Ketchikan.. I been dealing with Mendenhall Auto Service Dept since April... I set up first week in of April for my Yearly service on April 20 and told the guy that I am doing my Recall at time... When I came in for my car service they told me that the part did not come yet so I told day I catch the ferry back to Ketchikan Guess what NO part yet.. I had contact Toyoda and the person from Toyoda contacted Don Andrew about the part, he said it just came in... After a week I did not hear a word from him about the part until I called and follow up with with email he told me when I get back to Juneau the following year I am Suppose to give them a Month Notice... After all of this the first time and they said they had a the Part I decide to make a trip to Juneau so they can replace the Recall.... NOW they had been lying to me and Toyoda about this part there... Yesterday Don Andrew Refuse to talk to me what is going on and the lies been said... Now it came down that I had File a Complaint against Mendenhall Auto Service Dept with Toyoda... Be Aware of this Mendenhall Service Dept....
Buyer beware!!! This is the absolute worst dealership Ive ever dealt with in my life! I took my car in to get some recalls taken care of and they screwed my car up so bad it was in the shop close to 2 months total! EVERY TIME I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK THERE WAS SOMETHING NEW WRONG WITH IT THAT THEY HAD SCREWED UP. I ENDED UP HAVING TO GET A SUBARU REPRESENTATIVE INVOLVED!
We had a wonderful experience getting the nicest and newest car we have ever owned. Our salesman was Kyle and we probably wouldn’t have gone with a dealer if it weren’t for his accurate, detailed, and compassionate service. We will buy our next car here from Kyle Harris.
Just called Art at the subaru service desk. Asked what brake pad replacement cost . On 2017 wrx sti . I found the oem brakes at tire rack .com for all four tires, $107. And some change not bad for pads for all 4 wheels. Now back to mendenhall auto. They just gave me an estimate for over 3k. BLOW MY MIND . You guys are criminals. I just do it myself are you kidding me. I wish i could give them negative stars.edit it was partgeek.com bought them today. They even called to make sure
Had software update per Jeep recall. Everything went smoothly.
Dear Amol Rokade,Today Visited to Showroom plan for NIOS CNG from all Information done... Im Happy.
Up sale to what I really didnt want. Bad service dept. Sloppy techs. Chipped my paint
Ive had struggles in the past with the service center, but received excellent service from Justin Price in sales. I always felt like he was honest and not trying to hide any numbers when we were looking to do a trade in. Helpful, honest, good follow-up.
Awesome place to shop for a vehicle 😀 and the service is outstanding. Highly recommend then..happy 😊
Mendenhall Auto Center, ***Tim Lombard*** and ***Leo Novoa*** at Subaru gave my wife and I the best service anyone could ask for. We were welcomed and never ignored, some people have mentioned waiting issues, but that is only because these gentlemen are busy! And they still got to us within MOMENTS of entering every time. They service the ENTIRE Southeast of Alaska (at least) regularly and they do a stellar job, it really is impressive. We are purchasing a Subaru from them, and felt 100% comfortable with them, and were surprised how reasonable the prices were (exact same as the Subaru Website) Im honestly not sure how they do it, but they do. We were never pressured to go beyond our financial limits! And were treated with respect the entire time. They also followed up with me several times. Im honestly not sure if Ive ever had a better customer service experience. Or a easier time buying a car for that matter. Quick and easy, would buy a car from them again!
Received a recall notice, when I called they were able to get me in the following week. Also, on the day of service they provided transportation to and from my work - which was extremely convenient.
They are quick and professional!
The staff was remarkable, sales representatives were just on Fire, the front desk receptionist were on point, it was like they could read you once you stepped onto the parking lot.. They knew exactly what to say and there team work was just phenomenal, it was like they new when one was losing there customer then another would jump right inn and help get the attention back in focus.. You have to see it with your own eyes just to believe it for yourself... Outstanding TEAM work to all at MENDENHALL AUTO...
I live in Wrangell. There was a recall to my Honda for replacement of airbags. I had no idea what to do and called Jeremy at Mendenhall Auto. He responded immediately, checked my VIN and explained what needed to be done. I arranged to put my car on the ferry (I chose New Years Eve) for them to pick it up in Juneau at 6:45 am (New Years Day). No problem! They completed the work quickly and put the car back on the next available southbound ferry. They checked in with me often to make sure all of the arrangements were correct. I will be reimbursed for the ferry tickets. All of the other charges, including pick up from and delivery to the ferry, were covered. Polite? YES! Considerate? YES, YES! Timely and efficient? YES, YES, YES. I highly recommend this crew! (Oh, and I made a trip to Juneau during the time the car was there. A shuttle driver picked me up at the airport to be able to have access to the car for a couple of days, and as a courtesy returned me to the airport, after I dropped the car off to be shipped home later). All of this could not have been better arranged.
Jeremy Hall helped me and even though I did not make a purchase he was the best salesman anyone could ask for. He was knowledgeable and patient with my questions. During the test drive he took away every anxiety I had been experiencing. it didnt feel like a salesman trying to just sell me a car. It felt like a friend going with me to buy a car and give me advise on what works best for me.
Great service. I have a warranty on my car, took it in to get a wheel bearing replaced and they noticed the other side was going out as well, so they replaced both! Saved me another $200 on a second deductible/repair at another time. They also offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the shop for pick up and drop off! My only critique is that they are somewhat hard to get a hold of to schedule an appointment. Dont use their online service form, I filled that out a few times with no response.
The customer service is great all around! The sales team, finance, service dept, reception office & the owners are just absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!
Took our 2009 Toyota Tacoma in to have new tires and rims put on. They did it quickly and also pointed out we had some Toyota recall work that needed to be done. They had the parts and were able to schedule is the very next day so we left the vehicle there for another day. Mendenhall Auto did a great job on the vehicle and got it done quickly!
We’ve had so many positive experiences working with Mendenhall Auto. They went above and beyond when my husband’s truck had issues, which is one of the reasons I wanted to buy my next car from them. I figured to get what I wanted (in my price range) I would need to go to Seattle. However, Kyle, informed me of a car that fit what I was looking for. He was amazing to work with, and I was very impressed at the price when I crossed checked it with the same model “down south”. Jeremy has also be incredibly helpful and wonderful to work with.
I bought a Subaru Outback and a Toyota Tacoma from Mendenhall Auto Center. I get my major service and warranty work done by then and I am totally happy with both their sales and service departments.I also have two Honda motorcycles that I take there for routine maintenance. I am very satisfied with the work that Richard, their motorcycle tech does on my bikes.
I just bought my dream vehicle, a 2020 Toyota 4Runner from the guys over at mendenhall auto center. The whole process was fair and the salesman and finance guy doesn’t pressure at all! Usually the finance guys get you in the room and lay into you with 10 different warranties to sell you 500 different ways but it wasn’t like that at all. I got a fair below msrp offer and a fair trade in for my van. Business transaction done with no battle of the wills contest.
Stephen, Kyle, Seva you are top notch! I thank you for always taking care of me and making the car buying process enjoyable and fun.
Customer service there used to be ok for me. Untill today, a rude guy name Jerremy I will never go there again.
A Subaru recall fix is like getting a tooth pulled. I wish I had other options. I will definitely not have any routine maintenance done here.
Lack of service left a bad taste. We made an appointment, which required two weeks of waiting, to get some work done. Dropped the car off on the appointed day. That afternoon we were told they did not get to the car. Our choice was to pick it up and wait for another appointment (another two weeks) or leave over the weekend. We decided to leave the car. Called on Monday afternoon and were told we are booked up solid for two weeks. We cant get to your car. The car is not new, but we were willing to pay for the work we needed. Now we feel as if they just dont want our business. Very disappointing.
Okay, I am editing my original post below. Management finally got back to me and said they would cover the repair since I just purchased the vehicle. Glad I was able to get through to a decision maker.Service is okay.Sales: told me they would match the interest rate on a quote I brought in from my bank. At the signing after we had worked through all the sales and some paperwork, they told me the best interest rate they could offer was a full 1% higher than my bank quote.Service: Before making my first payment, after a couple weeks of buying my fairly new truck, it broke down. I called and explained, and they told me to bring the vehicle in... and when I brought it in they told me I needed to make an appointment... earliest was five day wait. Since I had recently purchased from them I thought they would be willing to treat me well and make me happy so I continued with them.... Diagnosis, a faulty battery. (I was promised from sales that a thorough inspection had been done by their service department before my purchase) They quoted me $275 for a battery only, no labor. So I called around and found a reputable battery in a local auto parts store for $140 and told the technician of the better price. He said that he would like to call them and confirm it was correct. At the end of the day I got a call saying they had put the new battery in. I gave NO APPROVAL to do the work and they proceeded without my approval. This is illegal! In addition, they ignored my question and gave me a poor answer when I asked if there was a parasitic draw on the battery. All they said was when they plugged it into the computer it said bad battery. I asked them to confirm if there was a draw... which they never did because they proceeded with the work without my approval. In reality... I hope the problem is fixed....Finally, when I picked up my vehicle they had lost my clicker automatic door opener. Ugh, one thing after another even after I had really complained about their service.I complained the whole way along and was treated poorly from the beginning. They did nothing to make me happy I was working with them. It appears they will gouge you at every opportunity, and will flat out lie to you, and will only do what it takes to get your money and not your approval.
Very positive experience. No pressure. Justin Price was most helpful.
Living out of town I had to send my vehicle to Juneau for warranty work. The service staff was over-the-top helpful to me and I appreciate the customer service. Thank you Nick Adams & rest of the crew.
Had a great experience buying a vehicle, Tim was especially been helpful!
Regardless of the reputation Ive heard this business to have, they did a fantastic job working on my 2014 Lexus IS 350. The Toyota service techs did a full inspection of the vehicle looking for a possible issue in the rear of the car. My Lexus was in the shop for several hours---they also did a full oil service of the vehicle and provided me a free shuttle to and from downtown Juneau. In the end they found nothing wrong with my car and charged me only for the oil change. Thanks gentlemen---you were all very professional. Im looking forward to doing business with you again. Keep up the good work!Miles
Please note this rating is on my last Service Dept. Request....One star because they refused to work on my GMC truck when they have the Chevrolet brand. The owner told me they did not have the training or tools to service the vehicle.
Made an appointment for a recall item. Checked in (a month later) and it had not been ordered. Made a new appointment, got it there early. They didnt get to it that day. Next day, no one could tell me whether its done or not. They should not call it the service department, since thats not what they do.
Got my tires changed and they didnt tighten the lug nuts... like I took them off with my fingers... this was after they tried to charge me $260 to change my spark plugs...
Great friendly and timely service! Really comfortable environment and helpful suggestions
Great customer service in the service dept. Art is very helpful
Update: 2020 July: spoke with Jeremy about a used Chevy Bolt EV. Dont have a used one, but they have a new LT trim, and willing to trim off the price but we are interested in the Premier trim.Came here two years ago to get a brochure on the Chevy Bolt EV. No brochure nor Bolt to even look at. Choice of trim LT or Premier. Be sure to get the optional DC fast charging which helps in speeding up recharging the batteries. Second year in production. Id rather get one five years old where its depreciated the most of its value than buying new or under three years old. And EV charging ports are still very limited. Without a dedicated charging port, you have to locate an available public charging port and leave it for several hours to recharge its lithium ion batteries.
Jeremy in Toyota Service has always been extremely helpful, kind and always goes above and beyond with his customer service! Thank you Jeremy! - JM Auto Boutique
Just got my car back after 2 days being in the shop.!. I told Mendenhall I needed a fuse for part of my car, they agreed & charged me $51.00 to tell me this, but did not fix it.2. I told them I wanted an alignment. They did this the second day, & told me a Left strut is what I needed & refused to change unless I do both left and right. Their parts cost $148.92 per strut + $134.72 for mounts each AND labor. I found some struts on the web for $14.00 But including labor, they want close to $1000.00. They didnt fix anything, just diagnosed.3. I told them about a tire light & how it just needs to be shut off & that there was nothing wrong with the sensors, just that I had tire valves replaced. To fix this they want $435.00.4. Wash & wax $115.00To sum things up, they did the alignment & wash & wax only. They kept my car for 2 days and charged me Close to $500.00. This company is a disgrace!
We asked what terms and rates they could offer us on a loan to compare to our preapproval from our bank. They said no problem. 30 minutes later we are brought back in. They try to upsell undercoating and all the shady carlot staples. Then they say okay, take this paperwork to your bank. They never even did the loan proposal. The rudeness of the lady combined with her inability to complete the one task we asked for was too much. Go to Affordable Auto, they were polite, competent, and helpful.
If there was an option for 0 stars then I would put that. Scam artists, pretty much stealing from the public. Price for anything has a 100% increase from original price. Rip on for bad service.
Worst experience ever with a car repair! Even though we had an appointment, our car wasnt even looked at for over a week. When we contacted them after a week we were told it is next in line which wasnt true. It was very difficult to contact the man in charge of my car. We had to call numerous times to speak with him. I was without my vehicle for over three weeks and had to redo ferry tickets for it twice which entails a $20 change fee.
They were great! Love my new car.
These people have no problem wasting ones time. This is the second time I have made an APPOINTMENT - the FIRST appointment of the day, only to waste my time. The first time it took 4 HOURS to change the oil and put on winter tires. Today, after making sure that I had the first appointment of the day at 8am, when I got there, I was told there were 2 people ahead of me and that they wouldnt get to my car until after 10 am. Obviously I dont have a whole morning to waste at the car dealership for service. I bought the extended warranty for my Toyota, what a waste of money when you live where the dealership is so unwilling to make and keep a timed appointment. Totally lame customer service.
A garbage dealership with spoiled car dealers. It would be wise to just look to Anchorage for your new car. You will get a better selection, a better deal, better service, and overall be happier with your purchase. Dont settle with Mendenhall Auto.
Fast service, helpful staff, and great driver response times for pickup.
So far so good. Ive avoided the dealership out of habit for years but recently had my Accords oil changed and the tires rotated, fluids checked, etc. It came to around $50, quite a bit cheaper than my usual shop, so I was surprised. The Prius comes next with a 30,000 mile service, so well see if they keep it up.Update: Prius service was very affordable, once again cheaper than my usual shop.
I bout two cars there and they didnt want top dollar for them that was nice and they have coffee and t.v. for the kids
Very disappointed in the service here. I took my tire in to get it repaired (just a patch), and the man at the front desk told me that since the tire was punctured not directly in the middle of the tire that it was unrepairable. I proceeded to let them inspect the tire to see what they could do. They called me up saying the tire had tubing and the nail had punctured the tubing and that the tire couldnt be fixed. After getting my tire back I took it to a different repair shop, and they said it would be the easiest fix, and that my tire had zero tubing.
The people make the difference. Great people. Knowledgeable techs.
Can not get them to call after service is completed. I have to call them, multiple times, even after specifically asking for the courtesy. My calls get misdirected and sent to voicemail. My vehicle has an intermittent fuel sensor error I asked them to look at. The told me they could not find anything, so after 2 years I drive around with a fuel gauge that shows empty, just have to keep it over 1/2 tank.My battery is under warranty on my work vehicle. If I accidentally leave lights on or listen to the radio while the vehicle is off I can not start my truck. I asked them to look at it, and was told it is fine. So now I have to carry a portable jumpstart device.I would not use these guys for vehicle service on my own vehicles
The worst experience possible with a service center. Our 2009 Chevy Silverado with 33,000 miles was serviced for 62 days. Their customer care & communication was nonexistent, unless we initiated the communication. Finally picking it up after 75 days, with GM involved... But absolutely no positive resolution, and $3000 in costs.
Service center is professional and efficient. The shuttle service is excellent.
Bought a new subaru Impreza from them. after paying for the car, and getting it home. I noticed that they had used a dirty cloth to wash/wipe the car down and was covered in deep scratches. Might as well used sandpaper. I drove right back and they said it was my doing. they are the scummiest dealership I have ever had to deal with. Also, any kind simple work/ oil change will take many days. They treat you are garbage. Its shocking. Typical Juneau customer service.
Really good customer service; sometimes they are late with cars, or didnt get to some problems when you bring in a laundry list. Other than a small lack of organization on the management side, the work is exemplary and my car runs very well after seeing them.
Quick to sell. Slow to service.
Traded in my Subaru for a Honda, received excellent customer service and a very fair price on both my trade-in and my new vehicle. I would purchase from them again.
There has to be some well-financed individual out there who can start a new Toyota dealership in Juneau. Its sorely needed because the level of incompetence at this one is jaw-dropping. I took my car there for two recalls (the only reason to go there) and at the last minute, added an oil change. They changed the oil, decided to add a inspection that I didnt want, and never did the recall work. Thanks guys! Ordering parts for recalls takes time, they tell me now. I am aware, which was why I called three weeks early to make the appointment along with my VIN. (Actually I called four or five times, three weeks early because they dont return calls). They couldnt quite explain why they never told me the recall work wasnt done (I only found out because I got another notice) but said they would find the service person who handled it and would get right back to me. That was three days ago.
I live in Haines and in January 2017 I purchased a Toyota Van when I was visiting Sitka. I never considered our State Ferry System wouldn’t have a single ferry scheduled from Sitka to Juneau for the whole month of January.During the delay I received a phone call from the Company I was purchasing the van from and was informed my van needed to go to Mendenhall Auto for a Recall before I could receive it. They also informed me the Ticket to Juneau would be paid for by Toyota. On the 26th of February they finally had a ferry going to Juneau so they said they would plan to put it on the ferry then.I called Mendenhall Auto and ended up speaking to Jeremy Hall. I wanted to find out how long it would take for them to do the work on my van so I could reserve a spot on the ferry to Haines. I was also concerned about all the stuff I purchased in Sitka and had stuffed into the van. I wanted to make sure it wouldnt be in the way of the Mechanics.Jeremy first asked me for the VIN # to make sure my van was the on the list coming from Sitka. He soon found out they hadn’t even put the van they had me almost two months earlier, on the list to come to Juneau. Jeremy fixed the problem and made sure my van would be put on the next ferry. He also said he would willing to personally unload and reload all the lead-line, Gillnet Web, the 9.9 outboard, TV, and brailer bags so it wouldn’t be in the way of the Mechanics. I had purchased all that stuff in Sitka before I new the van needed to be worked on in Juneau.Jeremy also arranged for Toyota to pay from Juneau to Haines since they would have paid for the van to go back to Sitka.I will always recommend Mendenhall Auto after this Jeremy made my two months of waiting almost not to pretty bad.Thank you Jeremy Captain Ken
My dealings with this business have convinced me to go elsewhere.1. Getting my oil changed. They refuse to make appointments, forcing you to leave your car at the dealership for the day. Even then, you will need to wait a week to do so. They are not using the proper car service schedule, so unless you specify exactly what needs to happen, they will get it wrong.2. I wanted a updated map DVD for my car. After showing the parts guy the e-mails I received from Toyota saying I must order one through a parts center, he still insisted that he couldnt order one. I had to call Toyota and hand the phone to him so Toyota could explain what to do.3. Replacing my aux. battery. They didnt have the battery in stock, and said it would take 1 month to get one. I went to Fred Meyers, and bought and installed one myself. If you can, find another place.
Purchased a new Honda TRX 90 youth 4-wheeler. Got it home to find there was no air in the tires, no manual, and would not run. I could get no help from the dealer. They told me I had voided my warranty by adjusting the governor (trying to get it to run). They would accept no returns, and that they would sue me if I attempted to stop payment for an inoperable product. After downloading the manual I found that adjusting/removing the governor is acceptable, necessary, and also requires an air restrictor to be removed. The dealer should have known that. Instead, they chose to wash their hands of me saying I was the reason the 4 wheeler wouldnt run and threatening litigation.
Sales and service staff are friendly and the service work has been excellent recently.
Very friendly and experienced.
Took my truck to have my door fixed, they also did an oil change wich i did not authorize. I had already changed it the day before.. no more business
Awesome 🦅💖
Terrible customer service! I have been waiting for months to get my car fix and they still not doing anything. That is what happens when there is no competitors in the arwa. Mendenhall Auto clearly doesnt care about their service.
Uggg. very frustrating trying to explain to the parts department what i need. it seems like im more informed than they are. Keep trying. not quite what im used to with quality Honda trained people.
Auto Service department is excellent, sales staff knowledgeable, excellent honest business.
I took My Honda into get the airbags replaced because there was a recall on the airbags, I also took my car in to get the blinker looked at. Im from Ketchikan so I had to have my car shipped on the ferry to have the procedure done. When I got to Honda I told them that I had gotten the relay switch replaced in Ketchikan to see if that was the issue with the blinker and that it still did not fix the problem. When they were done diagnosing ($350 later) they told me it was the relay switch-_- after I had already told them it wasnt. They said because it wasnt a part from them and that it had been an after market product that it could have been faulty. So I then ordered the part and had it put in, to only find my blink still not working. I called them and spoke with Nick and the owner Steve who had said they spent 5 hours on the car in which case I was only bill for 3...If they would have told me that they need to put in a relay to further diagnose the problem rather than merely telling me the part I had originally replaced it with was faulty I would have left my car their until they were able to put the part in to further diagnose it, they wouldnt have had to spent 5 hours to only conclude that it was the relay switch and that they needed to put that in to further diagnosis the problem. Now I have to spend $500 in shipping expense to use Honda scanning system to figure out the problem because Ketchikan does not have a Honda dealer here, plus whatever the cost is to fix the problem. Not to mention they wont reimburse me for the misdiagnosis or false statement.
Not much choice in new cars in Juneau. They have a new and used inventory.
Mendenhall auto and all the guys are great.
Helpful and courteous staff.
Great Friendly Service!
When purchasing our 2013 Toyota we were told .because we were from out of town we would be given a loner when our truck was being serviced. Thats only happened 1.
Good service, friendly staff.
Have everything but a little spendy
They changed my keyfob batteries for free
Great vehicles. Shitty service.
Got me in on short notice and did all repairs as quoted.
Been with Mendenhall Auto through my warranty on my last vehicleTerrible service but good sales
Perfect so far!
They never call back. They lie about parts being ordered or not. Everything is someone elses fault. Take your car elsewhere.
Great customer service
My brother took his car there for oil change he stood right in front of desk to inquire about his car person behind desk did nothing to help him, said nothing whatsoever, not so good service
I got charged $437.00 for changing fluids. None of the other diagnostic work was completed. Got the car home and found a leaking oil filter and no power steering fluid! Stay away from this place.
They have cars here.
