Bad service, no homemade soup it tasted like canned, not clean, it has weird odor throughout shop. Owner doesn’t pay her bills or her staff! sad to see a decades old shop we all grew up with go down in flames cause of bad service and a owner that doesn’t care about the legacy that she’s destroying. Guess that’s why she’s no long a business owner at the mall
Such a great place, much more than just sweets. Need to add delicious sandwiches to your sign outside. Went here twice two days straight. Great veggie and tuna sandwiches, and banana split from heaven.
I had a fluke a couple minutes ago with Door Dash where over an hour had gone by and my order hadnt even been received yet. I called the restaurant directly and the sweet woman over the phone was nice enough to take my order for me, discounted an item after the side dish I wanted was no longer available, and offered to deliver it to me after they closed for the day so I still got my food. I was so happy with the service, I had to give them a review. Thanks for helping extending help to us locals at such a trying time in our world!
Awesome Eggnog Malted shake! Military discount for veterans also. Redhead!!!
Service was ok. We ordered 5 milkshakes (1 vanilla, 1 chocolate, 2 strawberry shortcake, and 1 cookies and cream) and they were pretty quick making them, but upon tasting the strawberry short cake milkshakes we found the tasted like cold medicine, we also found the vanilla shake was watery. After a few min we decided to replace the strawbeeryshortcake shakes with birthday cake and a blueberry pie flavor, the birthday cake was better but not great by any means. The blueberry pie shake was just as bad as the strawberry shortcake. I would NEVER suggest this resturante milkshakes. DO NOT TRY THEM, you will be disappointed.
So I have to start by saying this review is over 20 years in the making. I moved to Juneau in 1993 and sometime there after I had the creamy split pea soup and it changed my life. I, literally, to this day remark about that split pea soup. No split pea soup has ever compared to it. I am reviewing the cafe from when I knew it. But reading reviews it sounds like its the same. Kudos to you guys! Ive traveled the world now and can say I STILL have not had a better split pea soup.
This place has been here since my childhood. It hasnt changed and I absolutely love that. I went in the other day and had such a delicious sandwich. It was made from quality ingredients and made quickly. This place is awesome.
My sandwich could have been better, but the service was nice. I like the updated decor and food options. I was afraid the Udder Culture vibe would be lost with the new owners, but its pretty much stayed the same. Except the milkshakes arent the same.
They took 30 min to make our shakes. WARNING: don’t get the strawberry shortcake milkshake. It’s horrible!!!! Every milkshake has no flavor. The only decent one is chocolate. Not going back there!!
This place is pure vanilla. There is no frills or gimmicks. They have great frozen yogurt and excellent chili. The sandwiches are good but a little overpriced.I like the self service situation they have going on. When dining in, after you finish, you must leave your dirty dishes on a cart which is periodically maintained by the staff (which are usually entry level high school kids.) Not the best service ever but you can tell they are good kids.It has a tribute to the troops on the far wall near the road entrance. Thank you for that.I recommend the soup of the day, the froyo of the day, and the chili bowl.
Way over priced for cheap food. The kitchen is disgusting and dated. The employees seem very lost and the manager is loud and frantic. Hopefully it will get better with new owners.
Udder Culture has good food at decent prices. Christian faith based, supporting the military. Best value is their half a sandwich with soup combo includes one soup cup refill. Their shrimp croissant available Wednesdays and Fridays till they run out.
Grew up going here. Love this place.
Udder Culture best deal is their half a sandwich and a cup of soup daily special. You may order generally any two meats, two cheeses, exception of bacon, a refill on your cup of soup until they run out, so to get the best possibility, come by 13:00 as their soups run out. They have shrimp croissant on Wednesdays and Fridays. They have nonfat or lowfat frozen yogurt. Baked potato is available.Update: 2021.05.13 chili is robust, excellent. Credit card payment incurs an added 5% service fee to your bill.
This is a longtime favorite place to eat in Juneau. The frozen yogurt is fantastic and best sandwich in town. Always generous portions and always fresh ingredients. Excellent.
The menu itself is easy enough to review, so you dont need to read this for the food; Its a comfortable place. When you walk in its not hard to pick up that their ever-changing selection of Frozen Yoghurt & some of the towns best soup is supplemented by a timeless atmosphere, bustling with young workers that cater to customers of all ages. Dont let the teen staff fool you; the place is clean and well maintained. Its difficult to find religious themes that arent warm in their message, and the respect shown for local enlisted men and women of various military branches with a wall of honor is extremely supportive. The only thing I would ask to be changed would be to bring the arcade back, and Im not just asking because I dont have space to have my own yet - Ill update this when that day ever comes.
Wonderful place to eat! Good food, good people and reasonably priced
Great sandwiches at a good price. Friendly employees and large clean dining area.
Such a great sandwich spot. Nice people and great foods
Great local place. Flew in from Fairbanks hadn’t eaten in about 7 hours. Great service, solid food.
Im not sure people realize what a good deal this place is. I got a sandwich with avocado, and a drink, and it was like $12 and they even put 2 bags of chips in. My mind is blown, especially for an Alaska food establishment. The sandwhich was loaded with meat as well.
Great food, great staff, great location. Now under new ownership.
Always Friendly, Food is always fresh ! Best soup and sandwiches in town!
30+ years of eating Udder Culture food has to say Five Stars
Love this place. The good is delicious and not spendy, the place is super clean and has a relaxed atmosphere, and the owner, Dan Penrose is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I dont even live in Juneau anymore and this is still my favorite sandwich shop ever
Pretty good, cheap food. Always great for a quick lunch or snack 😊
Great place to rest from the day, Dealers Choice is the best thing and its not on the menu!
I walked into Udder Culture today and asked for a lunch recommendation. I just ate the best Ruben I have ever had in my life, hands down.
If I wanted to make an average sandwich i could make one at home for 1/3 of the price. However their daily specials are not to bad
Great food. Wish the atmosphere was updated
The religious view affect the food none, great customer service great food!
Simple yet everything I want in a restaurant: cool vibes, good prices and tasty food.

Consistently great food and friendly atmosphere
Love having lunch there!
