They gave me a fair price, measured and installed according to the original timeline. Unlike the rest of our kitchen remodel where it seemed everything was delayed for one reason or another. I have had a great experience working with Rock Solid. My two quartz bathroom countertops were installed this morning and look amazing. The guys were quick and neat, friendly yet professional. Everything you hope installers will be! When I was originally looking for my quartz, Darnene was a huge help picking what would go with my design. And everyone worked to make undermount rectangular sinks work in 18 vanities, which is no easy feat. I will be recommending Rock Solid any chance I get.

I am very happy with my choice of granite and installer. Danene was very helpful and patient with my 1000 questions. Andy was very helpful in getting the veins the way I wanted. I started out wanting quartz but ended up with granite because I love that it is one of a kind. That is why I chose my hickory cabinets. All the knots and veins running through it. I was very happy with their price also.

We wanted honed granite counter tops, after visiting over 5 showrooms, we found that Rock Solid Surfaces had the best inventory of honed slabs. This automatically set them apart as honed, with its natural luster will continue to grow in demand. Their cost to demo and remove existing counter tops and sink was on the high end compared to other estimates, but with material and labor cost the overall estimate was lower than the other estimates we received. Wait time for measurement and install was over three times the other places, but the slab and price made it worth the wait. Note, if you schedule a measurement and install, that does not secure a slab. If you want a particular slab talk with the office on a method to secure it during the wait. The process of measurement and install was flawless. When they came to measure, they were efficient and thoughtful. They were very courteous and patient and offered to answer any questions we had. Our concerns were that our drywall was most likely not flush, which could result in gaps. Also, the slab we chose had fairly defined veins, so we were concerned about placement and seaming. Rock Solid Surfaces technology allows them to layout an image of the slab to configure the best orientation for that specific slab, keeping seams as least noticeable as possible. We ended up without any gaps between the slab and our walls and even the most critical eye would have a hard time seeing any seams. On the day of install they were in and out within two hours. They were courteous, clean and considerate. Extremely professional. We wanted an under mount sink, and they offered top quality inventory to chose from with incredibly competitive pricing. This exceeded inventory and pricing you can find at big box retailers. We went with a 16 gauge stainless steel under mount sink. I wish we would have discussed the amount we wanted the granite to overhang the sink, it is flush and looks good, but the overall look would have been cleaner with a slight overhang. Certainly this is a significant investment to make in your home and the process can bring concern and uncertainty, but we would recommend Rock Solid Surfaces to our friends and family, and if we ever need counter tops around here in the future that is the only place we will go. We are very happy with the process and outcome. Special thank you to Danene and Andy.

We had ordered quartz from a big box store and discovered our builder did not DO quartz or granite, rather sub-contracted all of it. YIKES! (Now what?) We talked to Andy and he initially agreed to install it and asked it it had been shipped. Not at that point. He asked if we could cancel the order and we found we could and DID cancel and went with Rock Solid.1. Measuring (laser!) was promptly done and the quote was very fair.2. Andy saved my marriage with an edge profile I had promised.3. We had just counter-tops and final paint to get occupancy, so they pushed to get it done for us.4. It is super easy to maintain, no scratches, silicone is still clear on the backsplash where it meets the tile.5. I have recommended them to others after enjoying our quartz since they saved the day in December 2014.

From start to finish, we were impressed with RSS. The entire process was fun and the whole crew was fantastic. We went in, picked our slab, chose options and quoted a price within a few hours. A couple of weeks later, we had final measurements and soon after that we had our new countertops. RSS was very professional in their installation and did a perfect job. They exceeded our expectations. We looked at the other couple of granite suppliers in the area, but chose RSS due to their selection, prices, ratings and the initial feeling we received when walking through the door the first time. Im very surprised to read all of these positive reviews on Rock Solid Surfaces after the poor experience that we had with them. When dealing with their office staff we had a great experience. They were prompt to respond and very professional. The issues started when we asked that they return to clean up some of the install that was very obviously sloppy. The owner, Andy, was borderline aggressive via email and then when he came to fix the sloppy install- was passive aggressive and would just look at the floor when he talked to us. As an owner, you would think that he would learn to temper his emotions and act professionally. This was not the case.Alas the touch up job was just as poor as the initial install and we opted to hire someone else to touch up the install. Rock Solid Surfaces prices are great, but unfortunately the old adage- you get what you pay for- was absolutely correct in this case.And to be crystal clear- this review is for Rock Solid Surfaces in Kalamazoo, MI- on Stadium Drive.Thanks For reading!

Andy came in to check the final installation. Quality operation. I highly recommend them.

We attempted to deal with another granite installer prior to going with Rock Solid Surfaces and got nothing but the run-around with pricing, etc. We went to Rock Solid Surfaces and had a quote the same day and a template and installation date set up within days following that. OMG..WOW .. is that real granite..thats the first thing our guests say when they see our countertops. Next comes the questions so I thought I would share them with you.1. Who did you have do this?Rock solid surfaces in Kalamazoo, they are absolutely amazing.2. How much did it cost?Well I looked around and let me tell you the price I paid could not be beat. I never thought I could afford a preamium granite..boy was I wrong... stop by and have a look around and schedule a free quote.. trust me .. you can afford it.3. Who did you work with?It doesnt matter who you work with, they are all very knowledgeable, professional, and extremely friendly.4. I heard granite is super hi maintenance, are you prepared for that?If you are referring to periodic sealing, its not a big deal.. you simply wipe on then wipe off. Lol5. Why did you choose granite over quartz?I have a husband that likes to cook but doesnt always use a trivet. Thus the Marks on my old countertops.. I wanted durability, beauty, and heat resistant.6. Do you have to deal with fingerprint all day with that black countertop.Absolutely not. I seriously whipe 2 times a day just like my old laminate countertop.7. So how bad was the installation process really?It was seriously a breeze. They were on time, installed, and not even a fingerprint was left behind. I did have a viable seam beside the sink that only I could see. I called the next day to see if it could be corrected. They came out the next day and did their magic. It is absolutely beautiful.8. Why cant they just tell me upfront how much it is, why do I need to have them come out?Its no different than carpet, you cant get a quote over the phone before you know how much and what product will be installed. It depends on the granite you pick, the amount of stone you need, and the cuts.. seriously.. the process is so simple.. they are in and out before you know it.. you will want to stop by and pick out the stone you want for an estimate. This is probably the hardest part.. I had never seen huge slabs of granite and fell in love with several. I finally chose the titanium granite and could not be happier.. I LOVE IT..As a Realtor I will recommend Rock Solid Surfaces to all of my clients wanting to upgrade for a better return on a sale or to the buyer to enhance their new home experience.. I am not one to get excited about counters,...but this was outstanding. The workmanship is excellent and the service superior. I had a small piece of granite that was required behind my stove. This required 2 seams connecting the counters. I was not staisfied with the initial placement and Andy came back. Pulled out the piece and reset to my satisifaction. All this service, a beautiful counter, at price that is not comparable in the Kalamazoo area.

It is not easy these days to find a company that offers a quality product, quality service and quality installation, but I am here to tell you that Rock Solid Surfaces will do all this and so much more. Andy did a terrific job helping us choose the perfect color/style to match our existing cabinets and appliances, and his workmanship is outstanding; our kitchen was totally transformed! His prices were so reasonable and included all of our kitchen counters, removal of the old counters (which they took care to remove carefully so that we can reuse them in our new canning kitchen in the barn), new under mount sink and instillation, countertop for the large bar area located across the room and a great looking backsplash all around. Andy were able to complete the instillation over a week earlier than initially scheduled and then were on time and worked into the evening hours to get the job finished in one day. He then came back later that week to finalize the one thing that could not be completed on instillation day (due to us needing to move pipes before final instillation could occur). We ordered countertops from this place and although the stone looks ok at best (I can see the seams as if it should have been polished more) But, I can live with that. However, the owner on his first visit to take measurements was standoffish and didnt talk much.... Ok I understand Ill just hang around and watch him use his fancy laser. Cool. I got over that strange vibe after a couple days as were spending good hard earned money. Fast forward to install day (there where a couple of set backs because we were told THEY mounted the sink; the owner said otherwise). One of his employees came to do the install. Super awesome dude BTW and he acted like the owner should have. Anyway, the owner shows up AND CAN YOU BELIEVE HE WALKED IN MY HOUSE, MADE EYE CONTACT WITH ME AND DIDNT SPEAK or anything. Not a single word. I was absolutely floored. He left then came back (because the cool guy left a piece of stone) AND HE STILL DID NOT SPEAK. I SWEAR IF I COULD GET MY MONEY BACK I WOULD. I WOULD GLADLY PAY TWICE THE PRICE THEY CHARGED IF I DIDNT HAVE TO DEAL WITH SUCH A RUDE OWNER. IM GIVING ONE STAR because attitude is a HUGE deal for me. As a small business owner myself, I know the importance of good customer service and anything less is simply unacceptable. Its almost as if he felt we didnt deserve the stone.

Rock Solid Surfaces is top notch! They removed my old Formica countertop and installed a granite countertop in my kitchen. I have one seam due to the angle of my counter next to my sink and it is perfect. I could not be more pleased and have received several compliments on how wonderful it looks. The prices were competitive, the service was personal and the attention to detail during installation makes this a quality company all around. I would definitely recommend Rock Solid Surfaces to anyone looking for granite or quartz surfaces. I plan on going back to upgrade the countertops in my bathrooms next.

Rock Solid Surfaces was great to work with from beginning to end. They have a large selection of granite pieces sitting outside for you to look at as well as their extensive selection of quartz samples in the showroom, they even let you take samples home! Danene was a joy and kept us updated along the way. They also had some of the best prices in town! We were very happy with Andy and his crew who came out to install the countertops and even showed up early, which has not happened at all during out entire remodel phase of our house. Rob from Rock Solid Surfaces did a great job repairing a large number of little chips and cracks in our granite counter top (which we did not purchase from RSS but came with our house when we purchased it a few years ago). He worked carefully, effectively, and efficiently...and the results were fantastic. After years of wondering about and being annoyed with the rough edges and cracks in our counter top, I now love my new counter top! I highly recommend RSS to anyone needing repairs, and when the time comes to replace counters in our bathrooms, my husband and I will definitely turn to RSS.

Communication and dialogue has been open throughout the sale and install of our stone. This company has truly followed through on good business practices, and it does not go unnoticed in the unfortunate subpar standards of most companies.My stone is stunning. The few seams that were necessary are virtually seamless in appearance. The oversized island (also called a continent by its sheer mass!) is one solid piece, that is secured in place properly. This company takes the time & effort to ensure all aspects of the job are done correctly. My dream kitchen wouldnt have been as dreamy without a great business like RSS to work with!I originally thought our breathtaking lake view was the highlight of our kitchen, but our granite counters might be stealing some thunder!Will (continue to) recommend Rock Solid for big or small renovation/building projects!

Rock Solid Surfaces put in an amazing granite countertop for me several months ago. I was impressed from my first contact with Andy and the other employees. I was able to look through many choices for colors and picked one that fit my home. I was amazed the options that I was able to choose and the quick turn around on a quote.The installation went very well in one day and the quality is clear. They know what they are doing and took the extra time and effort to make the countertop shine. I would highly recommend Rock Solid Surfaces to anyone that is interested in granite countertops.
